Chapter 2: Clarification

As much as wanted to just storm out and leave right now, you couldn't. You needed this god damn job to pay your apartment bills and to fuel your hobbies. You took a few minutes to gather yourself and assess what just happened. Monty was pissed off with you but the anger seemed to go past just you being in his room, he was going on about your uniform. The dumb Bonnie uniform that you had to wear. It wasn't your fault the company sucked at catering to bigger women's sizes and plus, you thought the Bonnie one was almost cute. Well, It had been cute because now it had nice gator claw sized holes on the shoulder and rips in the side. You stripped it off and just wore your own clothes that you adorned under the uniform, just basic jeans with a printed smiley face t-shirt. You folded it and left it on the staff room on top of your bag, knowing if you didn't sew the holes on it closed, that it would never get fixed.

You went to Freddy's room, now knocking as you knew he was in there. The door opened and there stood the bear, smiling softly. "Oh, hello! Sorry, we are closed right now, if you-" You had to promptly cut him off. "Sorry, I am from the hygiene team. I'm just here to do a check over of your room and take out any trash you want gone."

Freddy paused a little, "Of course, come in. I apologise, I did not recognise you outside of the uniform. I did do a quick sweep of the place." He pointed to a trash bag with some items in, not questioning why you weren't in your uniform. You went over the room, his being the clearest out of the four. Freddy was watching you awkwardly as both of you knew each other didn't want to be here doing this right now. Once everything was clear, you gave him the okay nod. "Thanks for being prepared, it made this a lot quicker. See you later, Freddy." You gave a half hearted wave and started towards the door before a hand blocked your path.

"I'm sorry, but…you are hurt." Freddy pointed to your shoulder and back, your beige t-shirt showing little speckles of damp red. You couldn't even help your expression turn to anger, "Yeah…I had a little…'altercation' with Monty. He thought it would be a great idea to smash my vacuum and the plastic came back and hit me. Then wanted to throw me out so I think his claw might have nicked my shoulder a bit." You explained to him and you could just see concern and what appeared to be slight anger appear across Freddy's face. "I shall walk you to first aid to look at these and Monty will be reprimanded! I promise you." He reached out, taking hold of your hand and leading you to the staff first aid area.

"I'm fine, Freddy! I just want to go home, c'mon." You protested but he carried on anyway. There you were, holding Mr. Freddy Fazbear's hand like some 7 year old kid! But maybe it was a good thing to get checked out, the more your anger at the situation faded, the more pain you felt. Freddy did help patch you up, there was no plastic in you luckily and it was just scratches. You put some little band aids on yourself just because Freddy kept pressuring you to do it. "There you go, Superstar! I hope you feel better soon. I am sorry that this has happened, I'll make sure to have a personal word with him. Please report this incident to management as well." Freddy sighed just a little, giving a sympathetic smile.

"Your friend sure knows how to throw a temper tantrum. Tell him to keep his room cleaner from now on too! I don't get paid enough to deal with his shit." You scoffed but Freddy gasped, "Watch your profanities, please!" He scolded you and you almost felt embarrassed, like your dad was telling you off or something. "Sorry." You said back but smiled. "Thanks for this, let's head back. I need to clock out." Freddy happily escorted you back up, you both parted ways half way between his room and the staff room.

Once you got home, the bath was more inviting than ever. The whole works went into calming yourself down, which included a cheap face mask, bubble bath and a beer. Stupid alligator…Why was that motherfucker so big? He had to be over 6 foot. His arms and hands were massive too and you could easily see why some kids were scared of him. At least he wasn't as tall as the weird day care attendant, that one was real freaky and lanky. You spent the rest of the night in a little bit of a tipsy state and haphazardly patched and washed your uniform.

The next working day was a later shift than your usual, you preferred night shifts over evening ones- you never did mornings. You started at 6pm, the place had just started to shift to their closing practices. The animatronics were doing their 'Wicked Wednesday' night show, their only weekday closing performance. They always performed on the weekends or for extra large birthday parties but you actually got to see it for once. You were cleaning up some paper cups in the back of main hall, seeing all the kids gathering around the stage and the music was blaring.

Roxy was giving it her all, her hair wildly bouncing as she jumped and dived around, hyping the kids up. Chica was bopping along, shredding her guitar and was cautious not to sing along. Freddy was singing to the kids, making a show of his rockstar moves and paying special attention each and every kid. Then there was Monty, the arrogant prick! Your face was worth a thousand words as you watched him through furrowed brows, the dumbass was acting all cool and almost seductive. Wait, no not seductive! You meant egotistical! There was nothing about him which you enjoy; not his thick deep accent, wide metal chest or big hands... You were getting frustrated with yourself now as you threw cups into the trash with a little more aggression than necessary. He was just a stupid green piece of metal with a broken personality chip!

Once the Pizzaplex was cleared of guests, you got back into your routine. As you was walking back through the maintenance tunnels from trash disposal when Freddy and Chica spotted you. "Oh, there she is!" Chica said and came jogging to you, "I'm sorry, I don't know your name. What is it?" She asked rather sweetly.

"It's Y/N. What'cha doing down here?" You asked and Freddy answered, "We were actually looking for you. We spoke with Monty about everything and he wants to apologise. Please, if you have the time and if you wish to, can you see him?" Freddy was looking at you with an expression you couldn't pinpoint. Wait, he wasn't looking at you. He was looking at what you were wearing! You didn't realise that the uniform was that out of date that everyone had a damn issue with it! Was Bonnie that hated? "Him? Apologise? This ought to be good….Yeah, I'll go see him. I've got to do your rooms again so I'll leave his for last so he can say what he has to."

Chica nodded, "Perfect! Come do my room first so we can talk a bit! It's nice to have girly time!" She grabbed your hand and started to pull you back upstairs, Freddy followed but at a slight distance. Clearing Chica's room was a hassle as she was a hoarder, not only of food but everything kids gave her, she kept. Even if it was something dumb like a ripped up, dirty toy from the prize counter- she kept it. You tried to convince her otherwise but she just wouldn't budge. It was pretty sweet though, she was definitely becoming your favourite. After about half an hour of chatting, you parted ways and cleaned Roxy's and Freddy's rooms. Roxy didn't talk to you at all when you did her room, acting all moody and Freddy wasn't in.

You decided to just the conversation with Monty done with so you promptly headed to his room. There was no banging or scratching, no growls or even general loud noises. Just silence. You always heard him doing some sort of dumb shit in his room so the silence made you quite nervous. You tapped your knuckles against the metal door and waited for an answer. After a few seconds, you can hear him get up and press the button for the door, the door sliding open to reveal Monty with a grumpy face. "Get in, let's get this over with." He didn't wait for you to step in, his clawed hand grabbed you and pulled you in, not maliciously however. He was a lot softer with you. "I am sorry for harming you, even though it was your fault. I'm sorry that the vacuum broke and then hurt you. I'm sorry for swearing at you." He said in a monotone voice like he was reading a script, clearly he had been forced to do this.

"Bullshit! You sound so fake that I'd get a better apology from one of your bootleg looking plushies. Try again!" You demanded, crossing your arms as you stood in front of him, head tilted up to look at his face.

Monty scoffed, "You ain't getting another apology. Why should I say sorry? It's not like you died. I could have easily hurt you more than I did. It was all your fault anyway."

"Really, my fault?" You combatted his words, "I wasn't the one who had a temper tantrum over a cleaner in my room, cleaning up a mess that I had made. It's not like you're paying me out your pocket! Grow up." Why was this gator the most infuriating thing!

"I ain't mad that you were cleaning my room, doll. I'm mad that you thinking you're so fucking funny wearing this to get my reaction in MY room!" He smacked your cap's little ears. "Where is all the rest of your friends to laugh at me, huh? Bet y'all have a great time talking up more conspiracies." He was clearly getting more agitated thinking about it.

You had only been working here for four months, you didn't know about the 'Bonnie' incident. You also didn't care for chatting with co-workers, the only one you were on speaking terms with was the night guard called Vanessa. "What the hell are you going on about? I've only been here for a few months and I don't exactly get on with the others so I don't talk to them. Why you getting mad over what damn uniform I'm wearing?"

His entire mood shifted when you said you didn't know what he was going on about, he could pick up on the fact you wasn't lying either. "You don't know anything about Bonnie 'n me at all?" He asked to clarify your claims.

You shook your head with an annoyed sigh, "No! If it bothers you so much, explain it! I only wear this because this uniform is the biggest size they have for janitorial. Sure, it's older but the stingy company always refuse to get new uniforms when this does the job. I'm not exactly itty bitty, I've curves that won't fit into a small Chica uniform."

Monty smirked a little, "I noticed the curves, don't worry." He said out of the blue which made you falter completely. Monty had guessed from your explanation that it wasn't your fault that you were wearing the dumb Bonnie costume. He just wished the rabbit would stay gone and not haunt his everyday life. It's bad enough with the looks he got from Freddy occasionally, a constant reminder of the rumours that he killed his oh so precious boyfriend. "Fine, if you didn't know, I guess I am sorry. Here." He turned suddenly, you having to jump back quickly to avoid getting taken out by his tail. "Watch it!" You hissed.

He came back and presented you with a small voucher, "These are special, I don't go givin' these to just anyone!" It was a 3 in 1 voucher, personalised for Monty. It meant you could get 30 minutes with him, free FizzyFaz (Sour Lime, Monty flavour only) refills for the year as well as a signed photo of Mr. Montgomery Gator himself.

You gave a face at him, "Wow, I'll treasure it forever. You know I'm you're biggest fan." Your voice said with thick sarcasm, pretending to hold the voucher to your chest dramatically.

"As my biggest fan, you can think about how to spend those 30 whole minutes with me, baby girl." He smirked a bit, being all cocky as he pulled down his shades to wink at you.

"Shut up, I am definitely not spending 30 minutes of my time with you. It's good enough you got me here today!" Monty could see you scowling at him but your flushed pink cheeks gave you away. You saw him roll his eyes from behind his frames which made you scoff, "Aren't you suppose, like…kid friendly? You already swear more than me and thats a feat in itself."

Your words made the gator give a husky chuckle, "The only one kid friendly, in a sense, is Freddy. He sticks by his little bitch personality, the 'Purity' kids thing. Sure, I ain't gonna swear in front of kids or cause hell but I ain't gonna be like that 24/7. The people who made us made us entertainers, for kids AND for adults." He smirked a bit at the end of his words and the thought of what he meant made you blush more.

"I'm not even going to ask what you mean!" You wave a dismissive hand, trying to get the thought out your head. "I have to go back to work, see you later." You quickly gathered the trash bag that was placed next to his door, he had actually listened to you (or had been made by Freddy) and had cleared up some of the shit on his floor. The room was still wrecked but at least you could see the floor more clearly.

You left feeling a bit better about the situation yet he had distracted you with his weak flirting attempts. You didn't know why the uniform made Monty made and what rumours were spread because of it. You'd have to ask around about the previous relations between Bonnie and Monty as it sure as hell seemed complicated.
