Chapter Four: Confessions
"Sure, Monty. What's up?" Monty seemed to be spacing out as you struggled to keep up with his long stride. "Hey-" you reach out and gently grip his arm. "Slow down or I won't be able to talk to you. What's wrong?" You manage to get him to stop walking for a bit.
"S-Sorry." He grumbled a little as he looked down at your hand on his arm, gently placing his hand over yours. You were so tiny against him, so delicate…"I know you are curious about why I was so pissed off when we first met. And, well…I don't wanna just keep dodgin' it and I'm only tellin' you so you can take off that stupid uniform." Without you knowing, Monty had put in a personal complaint against you. Not you personally but about the uniform and they were sorting out some Monty uniform for you. He thought it would be immensely funny that you were repping his merch, almost like a claim on you.
"It's complicated but c'mere, kid. Come to my room so we can talk." He put a hand around your waist, keeping a gentle pressure there as he guided you to his room. When you got inside, you were almost shocked. The soft sofa chair in his room had been replaced and the area was clean. The whole room wasn't clean but it was a start. He let you take a seat as he sat across from you in a purple leather arm chair.
"Tell me what happened, Monty. I want to know." You say in a softer tone which makes him sigh a little.
"Bonnie and Freddy, well, they go wayyyyy back. Not like Freddy and Chica, Bonnie was special to Freddy. They were together, like boyfriends and stuff. Me and Roxy were new to the game and there was the four of them, this guy called Foxy had been decommissioned the month before. I never met the fella so I can't say nothin' about him but I heard he was okay. I did meet Bonnie though. I can't understand how Freddy, the weird pretend saint he is, was with him. The guy was a bastard!" He scoffed a bit to himself.
"He would go outta his way to taunt me. He was on stage playing with the others, Roxy had just taken Foxy's spot so she was busy keepin' up with them but he also ran the bowlin' alley. It's still called Bonnie Bowl to this day. I was just mindin' my own business and this guy comes down to my golf course and starts a fucking fight. Sure, we beat the shit out of each other but at the end, we both walked away. That night, he's found destroyed down in the trash dispensary." He growled a bit. "Of course it's lookin' might suspicious that I beat the shit out of him, cameras stopped working and he ends up decommissioned. I know Freddy thinks I did it, I see the way he fucking looks at me." He started to snarl now, standing up.
You quickly get up, placing your hands on his chest. "Monty, hey. Look at me. Calm down." You find yourself gently patting his yellow plated chest. "It's okay…so, People think you, I guess killed is the word, Bonnie?" He glared a little at that phrasing but nodded once. "Well, look. If you didn't do it, you didn't do it. It means there is some shady business going down here. It's not the first time Fazbear Entertainment have pulled shady shit." You start to cycle through other scenarios that could have happened, getting into some weird conspiracy mind set. You could see Monty wasn't lying, he was too passionate about it. You could see the anger in his eyes but it was directed to the situation, not to Bonnie himself.
Monty was standing still under your touch, looking at your face. He could see your gentle features, how your brown bangs framed your hazel eyes and soft cheeks. He was a little shocked, you didn't question him or press him into an accidental confession. You believed him. As you were thinking, you felt the space around you get smaller as Monty pressed you against his chest, bending down with his arms around your waist. He had been messing around with you this whole time with the little flirts and jokes but for once in his animatronic life, he felt seen. He was believed that he wasn't just some mindless, aggressive monster. You had made him feel at peace and he didn't feel angry or confused. You were what he needed for that little space of time.
You reached back up, wrapping your arms back around him. "We may be new friends, but I consider us friends. If anyone says anything, you can call on me to back you up, Monty. Sure, you can be an idiot." You smirk a little at him, a hand gently stroking his snout. "But if something bothers you and you feel like you need to lash out or just talk, come find me." You gently detach yourself from him, going to his dresser and writing down your phone number. "I know you have phones so just save this in it, okay? Message me or even call me." You could tell Monty just needed someone, someone he could rely on. You found yourself wanting to be that person.
Monty silently watched you for a second before smirking, "If you wanted me to text you that bad, you should have just said, babe." Monty breaking the serious mood to ruffle your hair. He did get the paper and put it directly into his phone, texting you a simple alligator emoji. You roll your eyes but gently tap his chest. "Idiot." You say again but with a smile, feeling your heart pick up pace a little.
You had an hour left of your shift and instead of doing your job, you stayed with Monty. It was peaceful for once, Monty playing his bass. He played you little tunes and let you say if they were good or bad, but continued to approve all his own songs himself because he was still an egotistical moron. When he was calm like this, you could sit there and admire all the little details about him. You loved the colour of his eyes, a deep red. Even his little mannerisms made you feel happier, how when he was thinking of notes to scrawl down on his notepad, he licked his sharp gator teeth according to if he liked where he was going or if he was frustrated.
It was soon time to clock out and go home, you exchanged goodbye with everyone now- even Roxy. Chica was going on about the party as you tried to escape her room again but you would have to find an very good outfit. You had a reason to dress up real nice now, you wanted to impress a certain alligator.
