Writing for your friends is a beautiful feeling but writing for family is even better. Neo-kun, I love you to the moon and back. I hope this short drabble brings a smile on your face despite the fact that it's not very happy lol. But it's Rei/Kurama in spirit! I did not think very much when it came to this other than how much I love you. Please enjoy!

People died in war. That was the fact that none of them could deny. War was not pretty for everyone. Still, Rei felt her legs give way as she hit the ground, hand reaching out to touch the still wet soil. This was where it had been – the body of the man she had loved. He had died protecting her – protecting the ones he loved the most in the world.

"It's selfish," he had said. "But I don't want to live in a world you're not on."

It was selfish. It was selfish and she wanted to revive him just so she could hammer that in on how selfish he had been to do this to her, but she knew had their roles been reversed, she may have done the same thing. Arms wrapped around her, and she almost resisted, wanting to push the arms away, wanting to stay here in this last moment her lover was in but still, she leaned into those arms.

"Rei-chan," Sailor Moon's voice consoled gently. "We have to go from here. They'll come for us soon."

Right. They were still in war. Kurama had given them the chance to keep fighting but the war was far from over. If she stayed here, she could die.

'But if I die, I'll be reunited with him' The thought was a fleeting one but one that lingered for mere moments. Why? Why couldn't she be selfish? It wasn't as if he had thought what she had wanted before he risked his life for her so why couldn't she let their enemies kill her?

"Rei-chan, Sailor Mars!" Sailor Moon's voice became surprisingly insistent. Right. That was why. She could not do that to her Princess – she owed her life to her friend – and she had to keep fighting for her. Her own arms wrapped around the other girl, and she nodded, before pulling away from her. Reaching into her back pocket, she pulled out a small bracelet, letting it fall from her hand and hitting the ground. Moving quick, she covered it up with the dry soil. Even if I can't stay with you, I'm still with you. A lone tear cascaded down her cheek and she brushed it aside as she stood back up, grasping Sailor Moon's hand.

"Let's go."
