Poppy was in her room getting ready for the day while humming a song, a huge smile on her face.

But as she kept combing and kept humming, her smile began to fade and her voice began to dial down as she continued to stare more at herself.

She sighed while looking into her mirror and puts the comb down on her drawer, stepping back a few inches.

She turned around in her dress a few times and put her crown on, but her heart still felt heavy, and her chest pangy, crossing her arms as she immediately looked away from the mirror to avoid the shame she was feeling.

She didn't know what was wrong. She would randomly feel like this for a while out of nowhere now, ever since a little before she became queen and she could never understand why since she felt pretty almost everyday, especially with her boyfriend constantly reminding her that she is.

Why did today have to be one of those days, she asked herself.

"You know.. I don't know why but I just.. don't really feel pretty toda-"

Then suddenly, the sound of a door slamming down was heard, causing the pink troll to shriek.

"EMERGENCY! POPPY DOESN'T THINK SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! EVERYBODY CLEAR THE AREA!"

A certain Blue troll put caution tape and cones all around her room and outside her door.

All Poppy did in response was blink.

"..Branch-"

She was about to rhetorically ask him if all of this was necessary, but Branch shushed her before she could and picked her up in a swift move and sat her on her bed.

"Alright baby you're gonna listen to everything I'm about to tell you right now got it?"

Poppy blushed at the suddenly new nickname but still nodded, letting him know she was listening.

After a few seconds Branch seemed to calm down a little, and took a seat next to her on her bed, but still gave her a very stern look. It was soft too, but stern so she knew he meant everything.

Poppy gulped quietly and immediately tried to dart her eyes to somewhere else, like her shelf of scrapbooks or her halfway open closet. She didn't know how Branch impressively heard her but now that he knew she knew she was definetly in for a lecture.

After contemplating her life for what seemed forever he finally started.

"Poppy, you are the most WONDERFUL troll I've laid my eyes on, I can't believe I just heard you say what you just said. Not even just on the outside, but most definitely on the inside. Your compassion, kindness, empathy, loyalty, bravery, and let's not forget adorableness," He booped her in the nose, making her giggle softly, earning a smile from him.

"All of those traits just bring so much more out of how beautiful you really are. Yeah, maybe there'll be days you don't feel your best but that'll never change how amazing you are. And if I and everyone else can see that, so can you, because Poppy, you are truly a gift."

Poppy looked down to the pink floor below her, playing with the blanket hanging slightly off her bed. The smile on her face was apparent but it was very small and faint. She really did appreciate him and his beautiful words, but the panging was still there.

And it hurt.

"I'm sorry."

Branch raised an eyebrow and scooted closer to her, growing more concerned.

"For what?"

Poppy bit her lip and turned to look the other way so he couldn't see her eyes now burning with tears.

She couldn't even believe herself what was about to escape her lips.

"I.. I know you're just saying that because we're dati-"

"BUTTER WITH SPRINKLES ON TOP!" Branch jolted off the bed and cursed.

Poppy quickly turned to him wide eyed, forgetting in a matter of seconds that she even had tears in her eyes.

"..sugar honey iced tea- I MEAN SHOOT, SORRY- I DIDN'T MEAN TO- okay.." He gave up and sighed.

Poppy tried her hardest to hold back a giggle but couldn't help it, and instead of one little chortle it came out as a fit of laughter.

Quickly, the upsetting look on Branch's face quickly vanished and a relieved smile was replaced with it, hearing the sweet sounds of heaven fill his ears.

After he made sure she was finished, he immediately got back to being serious and kneeled down in front of her and gently grabbed both of her hands.

"Angel.. is that really what you think..? That I'm telling you all this because I'm your boyfriend?"

Poppy didn't respond after that, feeling bad as she turned to look the other way once again.

Then she mumbled something under her breath.

"I feel like this a lot. Not everyday but.. it comes often."

Oh Poppy, my sweet Poppy.. gosh why didn't you say something before. I could've been here holding you telling you how wrong you were.

Branch frowned even more, hearing what she said despite how quiet she was, and kept hold of her hands and slowly pulled her off the bed, her face still turned away from his despite her rising up.

"Baby, look at me."

Poppy shut her eyes for a second not wanting to face the hurt expression of her boyfriend knowing it'd hurt her more, but she followed his request and slowly looked up at him, trying to blink the new set of tears in her eyes away until she eventually gave up, letting them trail down her sparkly cheeks. Branch nearly felt like crying himself with how much his heart broke seeing her so upset.

Gently, he reached up to her face and wiped away her tears and put many soft and loving kisses on her lips for a few seconds, not moving his hands away as he stroked gently with his thumbs.

"I've been wanting to tell you you're beautiful for the longest time now, even when I didn't realize I was in love with you yet! I don't just say it because I'm in love with you I say it because it's TRUE. It's always been true. You're beautiful in so many ways and everyone here sees it everyday. Your beauty is always shining with everything you do, Poppy. When you sing, when you scrapbook, when you help others, anything! Like I said, it's not all about your looks that make you beautiful, it's more importantly,"

He moved one of his hands down to her hand slowly and took it and put it on her heart and mumbled,

"your heart."

Poppy smiled wide and she didn't bother to stop the river flow of tears down her cheeks this time, and she profusely giggled as she held her boyfriend's hands tight.

"Branch.. oh Branch Branch you lovebug!" Poppy jumped onto him and he laughed and caught her with no hesitation, squeezing her against him lovingly and nuzzling into her neck.

"Oh sunshine," He pressed a soft, warm kiss to her neck, rubbing her back gently as he heard her sigh happily,

"I wish you would've said something.. I could've been here for you. You shouldn't go through feeling like this about yourself all alone."

"I could've been here to scold you about how wrong you were." Branch joked lovingly and tickled her neck with his nose, earning a few precious giggles from the love of his life, feeling his heart melt into a huge puddle of love.

"I know.. I'm sorry. I just.. didn't know how to open up about it to anyone. And it's not everyday at least."

"But you promise to talk about it now, right? If it bothers you again." Branch pressed his face against her cheek, nuzzling it.

Poppy chuckled at this, squeezing him closer to her.

"Yes, Branch, I do. But I have a feeling it's not gonna bother me for a while thanks to a certain lovable troll." Poppy snuck her finger to his ear and playfully poked it from behind.

"Mmm am I happy to hear that." Branch's ear twitched at the feeling of Poppy's finger touching it, also earning a quiet and dazed shudder from him.

The Queen pulled back a few inches from his face and grabbed hold of his cheeks and started kissing all over his face.

"Ah, Po- Poppy! Okay!"

Branch quickly returned back to his senses at the feeling of his girlfriend's lips pressing against his face and was now in a fit of chuckles, barely being able to keep still with her in his arms and tried to carefully put her down.

Poppy stopped for a few seconds to look him dead in the eyes.

"Nuh uh! No sir you are letting me do this!" She protested and held onto him tighter and kept pressing nonstop kisses onto his face.

"Oh gee whizz-" He said in a daze once again,

"I'm so in love."

Branch put her down slowly like he originally planned to, but Poppy nonetheless stayed in his arms and giggled, putting soft kisses on his chin.

"So am I." She mumbled, snaking her hands around him slowly.

"I won't ever know how I got so lucky." Poppy goofily bit her lip as she laid against him, sighing happily as she felt his arms protectively wrap around her and his right cheek press against hers.

"Mm, me neither sunshine. Me neither." Branch was trying to bounce back to reality.

"Branch?"

"Hm?"

Poppy tilted her head up towards him and slowly leaned into him again, pressing her lips to his delicately.

Branch breathed softly out of his nose at the comforting feeling of his angel's lips on his, slowly sneaking a hand up to her cheek and caressing it gently as he kissed her back slowly, holding another hand on her waist while pulling her closer.

Poppy pulled away but still stayed awfully close with her face now nuzzled in Branch's neck, both her hands resting on his chest as she gave it a few gentle rubs.

She didn't want to move.

"Thank you.. so much. I love you."

He didn't want to move either.

"I love you too."

"Heyy you didn't say I love you more."

Poppy joked quietly and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Oh trust me you're lucky I didn't, or we would've been going on and on."

Poppy giggled quietly and rose up slightly to press her forehead against his, hearing the soft and comforting sigh of her boyfriend.

"I love you so much angel."

Poppy smiled goofily and put another kiss on his lips.

"I love you more."

Branch was smiling until he realized what she just said, his eyebrows crinkling.

"That's not fair!"

Poppy laughed and grabbed hold of his hands.

"It was clever though."

Branch snorted with a chuckle and pulled her hands towards his face and kissed both of them.

"It was."

"By the way, you gonna fix that-?"

Branch stared at her in confusion until he saw her nodding towards her door he'd knocked down, seeing a few confused trolls looking at the 'caution' tape and cones and hearing their concerned conversations.

Branch sucked his teeth in response.

"Shoot- yeah sorry I'll get to it right away."

Then he walked up to the door and told everyone standing outside of it,

"It's okay everyone, Poppy's alright! There's just been a.. misunderstanding that's all."

The trolls all looked at each other before nodding and walking away from the scene one by one.

Poppy giggled and walked up to him and nudged his shoulder.

"Hey, I'll help you."

Branch smiled at her warmly, and within a minute they both began to reassemble the door together.

She didn't know what she'd do without that amazing troll by her side. She was never thinking about coming out about this ongoing issue until he'd convince her, and she felt so much better now that she did talk about it.

With him by her side she knew instantly that she definetly was pretty.
