R & R longer note at the end

Yozakura grabbed her apron as she slipped it on beginning to examine the ingredients that had been provided trying to get ideas of what she would make, the crowds eyes darted to Shiki's side as she began examining her ingredients.

"That seems like enough time" Katsuragi's voice came through the speakers as she stood in the middle "Each of you have a total of forty-five minutes to create a beef meal for our three judges. Your time begins, now". With a wave of her hand a orb of light shot into the air going off like a firework as the two contestants began to get their prep work started, as Katsuragi wondered over to the judges table the crowd watched on as Shiki began to dice up her beef curious on what she was going to make.

"While our contestants get started let's have a chat with our judges" the blonde said while the crowd watched the two cooks prepping their ingredients for their chosen meals "First off lady Kagura what kind of beef meals do you enjoy most?"

"Well you can't beat the classics like burgers and curry" She said after a moment of thought "However a roast beef with mashed potatoes and lots of gravy is hard to defeat as well".

"A very good point indeed my lady, I wonder if they will throw their own little spin on these meals" Katsuragi said with a nod "So if you had to pick one of these lovely ladies to be your personal cook which would you choose?" Kagura sat back thinking as she looked the two over considering her options carefully as a murderous aura seemed to begin to fill the arena, Katsuragi's eyes flew to the crowd seeing a rather annoyed Renka glaring at her.

"I would be happy with either one" Kagura replied eventually "However for me Renka will always be my cook, the meals she makes here at the shrine just fill me up the best". Katsuragi nodded to the answer as Renka's look began to soften a little, not wanting to push her luck this early she moved on to Yumi who noted the playful and teasing glint in her eyes.

"Yumi as the leader of Gessen you have most likely eaten the meals Yozakura has made" Katsuragi began as the grey haired girl nodded wondering where she was going with this line of questioning "Do you feel like this being a battle between two of your own team that your ruling will be biased?" Yumi breathed a sigh of relief, despite the look on the blondes face her question seemed to be one of normality, she considered her answer before she finally spoke.

"I will judge this match fairly based on the meals provided to us" Yumi said as the crowd clapped "It would be unfair to base my opinion on past experiences of Yozakura's cooking".

"As expected of Gessen's queen of justice" Katsuragi said nodding "So one more question before we move on. Based on past experiences would you say you would take Yozakura as your wife?" The clattering of a metal bowl dropping echoed around the stage as Yozakura's face went red from embarrassment, some of the crowd groaned while others began to wolf whistle, next to Yumi Kagura had broken out in silent laughter while Instructor Suzune looked interested for the first time since her announcement.

"Wh-what kind of question is that?" Yumi asked her pale cheeks beginning to show signs of pink "I-I refuse to ask such an unnecessary question". Katsuragi grinned as she moved on receiving a high five from Instructor Suzune while Yumi hid her face and Kagura continued to laugh.

"So instructor Suzune, looking at our two contestants who do you feel will have the edge?" the blonde asked as Instructor Suzune looked over at the two girl's watching a still red Yozakura trying to compose herself from the previous question checking the cubes of beef she was frying off, her red eyes rolled over to her opponent who seemed to be dancing while mixing beef, eggs and onions together into a patty.

"Well if I had to pick right now I would give the edge to Shiki who seems to be enjoying herself more" she responded "From my experiences of cooking food tastes better when you're enjoying yourself, of course in terms of experience in cooking I would have to give that edge to Yozakura so right now it seems too difficult to pick a winner without the taste test".

"A wonderful examination, as expected of a teacher" Katsuragi said as the crowd clapped "Well we have thirty minutes left before we find out the answer of who tastes better so let me ask one more question. Based on who seems to be enjoying themselves more who do you think out of Yozakura and Shiki would be more likely to cook in their underwear?" Once again the clanking of metal bowls rang out this time from both contestants as the crowd began to boo the blonde's line of questioning, Yumi slowly sunk further into her chair while Kagura continued to laugh.

"Well that's an easy one" Instructor Suzune said with a teasing smirk "Shiki. She comes across as someone with the body confidence to go through with it". Katsuragi nodded along with her as the blonde tried to compose herself, with a smile Katsuragi skipped away toward the contestants.

Yozakura kept her eyes locked on the pan as she tried to regain her composure from the self-appointed announcers obvious teasing, she had added salt and pepper to her beef while it browned off in the pan satisfied she threw in some spices checking the other pans next to her. In the left pan she was happy to see the rice properly simmering before checking her sauce, she looked over at Shiki feeling a little curious on what she was up to.

The blonde had finished making her patty's as she heated up the oil in her pan as she waited she began to cut up her potatoes placing them in a glass casserole dish drizzling oil over them before sprinkling salt, pepper and a little paprika over them sliding them into the oven to cook.

"Twenty-five minutes left on the clock" Katsuragi announced as she approached Yozakura "So how are things going over here on your side?"

"Things are going fine thank you" Yozakura responded trying to keep her concentration "I should be done before the time is up, now could you please leave me to it and stop asking such silly questions please?" Katsuragi smiled heading over to Shiki's side to check on her progress as the blonde girl carefully flipped her patty's over while checking on her side dish.

"Seems things are going well here" Katsuragi said as she watched the girl beginning to set up her plates "I can assume you will be ready in time?" Without a word the blonde nodded before Katsuragi smiled heading back to the front to check the time, the smell of cooking beef filled the area as the crowd wondered who would manage to come out on top.

A bang rang out through the arena as the contest ended the two girls finished plating as Katsuragi smiled stepping forwards as Yozakura and Shiki placed the domes over their plates.

"Well the time is up, the meals are set and the judges are hungry" Katsuragi said as the crowd clapped "So now it's time to taste but who's dish shall we have go first? How about we start with…Shiki first". Shiki smiled as she carried her trays over placing one in front of each judge, when all three were ready she removed the domes as the aroma filled the judges noses they looked at the dish in front of them.

"I present for your pleasure, beef burgers with sweet paprika wedges" Shiki said as she slowly bowed the judges began to eat Katsuragi approached holding the microphone for Shiki to walk everyone watching through the process "First I diced up my beef and onions then put them into a mixing bowl with some salt and pepper, I used an egg to bind them all together. After that I cut up some potatoes into wedges added some oil to crisp them up, then a bit of salt and pepper with a sprinkling of paprika to really spice them up". The judges smiled as they finished their meals Katsuragi headed over with the microphone ready to get some comments from the judges, seeing the satisfied look on their faces she waited to see who would be ready to speak first.

"So lady Kagura" Katsuragi said as she approached the black haired girl "Any thoughts on Shiki's dish?"

"The burger is cooked to perfection" Kagura said with a smile "The wedges bring it together nicely with that amazing kick". Shiki smiled as she bowed respectfully to the sounds of applause from the crowd, slowly the blonde moved over to Yumi who smiled brightly.

"A very nice blend of flavours that really brings this dish together" Yumi said smiling as Shiki bowed once more "I enjoyed his meal a lot". Katsuragi smiled as the crowd continued to clap, moving over she reached the final judge who leaned back in her seat.

"I'm very pleased with how well this meal turned out" Instructor Suzune said with a smile "I do love a nice burger and fries but this has beaten most of the others I have had so well done". Shiki smiled bowing once more as Yozakura joined in clapping unsure when Shiki had begun to learn cooking, Katsuragi looked to the blue haired girl nodding as Hibari and Minori returned to clear away the previous meals.

Yozakura smiled as she slowly carried her trays over, removing the domes as the new aroma filled the arena, the judges leaned forward once more anticipating yet another meal.

"I present to you all a beef curry with jasmine rice" Yozakura said with a smile "Please enjoy". The judges smiled as they let he smells fill their bodies as they grab a spoon as they began eating Katsuragi wondered over to Yozakura with the microphone allowing her to walk through the steps for the crowd.

"I first started off by setting my water to boil, when I added my rice I put in a little salt" Yozakura began as the judges continued to eat "I browned off the beef before adding it to the sauce along with some potatoes and carrots, then let them all simmer down before serving". The crowd clapped as Renka watched the judges closely curious of their reactions, seeing the satisfied smiles on their faces made her realise if she was to be picked and go against her then she would have to work harder than ever to win.

"Let's see what the judges say about this" Katsuragi walked over as Kagura let out a satisfied sigh "How was that for you lady Kagura?"

"It was a strong contender" Kagura said "The flavours just burst into my mouth and mixed with the rice it was complete".

"It was a satisfying meal" Yumi commented next to her "It seems Yozakura stepped up her cooking skills when it came to her curry this time".

"I am about to declare that if Yumi doesn't take Yozakura as her wife" instructor Suzune said her red eyes locked on the now blushing blue haired chef "I'll have to do it myself". Katsuragi smirked as the judges began to discuss between them on the winners as the two contenders stood back wondering who would be called the winner.

"The judge's decision has been reached everyone" Katsuragi said as she stood between the two contestants "With a two to one vote the winner is...Yozakura". The blue haired girl stood in shock surprised she had won as Shiki and the crowd applauded, smiling the two contestants hugged as Shiki returned to the audience while Katsuragi pulled Yozakura to the front.

"So Yozakura how do you feel?" Katsuragi asked as the realisation began to set in "How about an answer for Instructor Suzune's possible proposal?"

"Wh-why did you bring that up?" Yozakura asked feeling her cheeks going pink again "That aside, I'm very happy to be the winner and I want to say congratulations to Shiki as well. Yours looked really good". With a final wave Yozakura headed to sit at the side in the winner's section while Katsuragi watched, after a few moments she turned back to the crowd with a smile.

"Well that is our first round down and yes a big congratulation's to Shiki for participating" Katsuragi said as she and the crowd clapped "Now we must move onto our next two contestants".

Truthfully I never planned this chapter to be so long but it was so much fun to write despite the breaks I had to take when it made me hungry. Anyway the teasing has begun and Yozakura wins the battle of beef, I have an idea for who the next two contenders will be but I haven't decided on what ingredient they will use so if anyone has any ideas feel free to let me know

Also this and the normal jobs for ninja girl's might be the ones updated for a bit because my mind set hasn't been in for fight scenes yet which is what the others will be for a while so when my mind goes back to the combat side I will update them I promise
