A/n hello all. This one-shot is a small tag to "Photo Finish." Please enjoy and thank all who've supported my foray into this fandom. You're all the best. This is written from Amanda's POV
Amanda took one last look around her house. She mentally ticked off several items, the oven and dryer were off, silent and empty, and she'd locked all the doors and windows. Satisfied that her mother and the boys could take care of themselves for the weekend, she hefted her bag and purse. At that exact moment, a knock sounded at her front door.
Perfect timing as usual.
"Hey," Lee said when she opened the door. "Let me get that," he took her bag and stole a kiss at the same time, which made her glow.
"Hi."
"You ready for an adventure?"
"Sure, you going to tell me where we're going."
Lee grinned at her, and his dimples made her knees turn to jelly. She could see by the light in his eyes that he had something in mind for them that she'd like. Sometimes it frightened her how well he seemed to know her, but that knowledge also brought a sense of belonging and love so different from her mother and boys.
After they climbed into the car, Amanda reached out and stopped Lee's hand from switching on the vehicle.
"What?"
"Nothing," she said and leaned over to kiss him. "Wanted to say I love you, that's all."
"Well," Lee's cheeks reddened slightly. "I love you, too, my Amanda."
God! She loved when he called her "My Amanda." The emphasis he put on the word "my" always sent shivers down her back.
"Let's go," she said and smiled when he winked at her and started the car.

"This is gorgeous," Amanda said two hours later when they were sitting on the porch of a large log cabin in the middle of the Virginia woods. "Where did you find it?"
"If I told you, I'd have to kill you, and I don't want to kill you," Lee gently teased.
"I see, well, it's lovely. Thank you."
'You're welcome. I hate to see you sad. I wanted to see you smile again."
She turned to him and reached for the hand that didn't hold a glass of his favorite wine. "I was thinking a couple of hours ago that sometimes how well you know me frightens me."
"Why?"
Amanda studied his face. At least once a day, she found herself wondering how she'd attracted a man as beautiful as Lee Stetson. Lately, it wasn't only his dimples and his smile that made her heart stutter and her knees weak. It was the love in his eyes when he looked at her. He loved her! Amanda King.
"Amanda," Lee said, and his smile dipped a little as he studied her. "What's wrong?"
Amanda felt a sudden rush of emotion, and her eyes blurred. She wiped her eyes with the hand Lee had held so gently and felt a sob rise in her throat. She pulled away from Lee and rose to walk to the railing that surrounded the porch of their cabin.
"Hey," Lee said, and he was at her side in a moment.
She turned into him and wrapped her arms around him. Her ear pressed to his chest, and the steady beat of his heart began to soothe her pain. "I'm sorry," she gasped out.
"Amanda?"
"Do you know why I said you gave up too soon?"
"Because you can't get enough of me and –"
"Lee!" Amanda pulled back and swatted him on the chest. His dimples, on full display made her shake her head.
"I'm sorry, Amanda. Tell me."
"I said it because I wanted you to take me away from Statik Aerospace, floor wax, and explosive devices. Oh, god, I know we've been in worse spots, but when I saw you lying there and - I didn't want to detonate the bomb, but I had to save you. It was you or him and – I glad I didn't kill him, but if it were necessary - "
Lee's eyes softened, and he tugged her close so that her hands rested flat on his chest. It was her favorite position, looking him directly in the eyes and feeling that he was alive and with her. "I understand, Amanda, more than you know. When Adie Berol had you – it was the worst time in my life. I would've done anything, killed anyone that stood in my way without a second thought."
Amanda felt a shiver. Lee was Scarecrow, a Federal Agent with an Agency that didn't exist, and she knew he'd killed in the past, had seen him pull the trigger many times, but – she blew out a breath and said. "I understand, Lee. I love you so much.
She saw that Lee watched her look down at the engagement ring he'd bought for her, and she wondered again how it came about but was grateful for his love.
"I love you, my Amanda. Do you know how much?"
Amanda nodded. "I think I do, Lee."
"Good. Now we should have a meal and then I want you to get some sleep."
Amanda pushed away and looked up at him. "But, I thought you – "
"I always want to be with you, but you need rest more than a guy with a healthy sex drive."
His dimples reappeared and made her laugh. "I am glad that we're here where it's so beautiful and quiet."
She turned with him and stood watching the sun begin to disappear behind the trees. The golden light filtering through the green leaves made her smile, and she began to feel the stress of the last days fade away.
"Come on," Lee said. "I was told this cabin has a newly renovated bathroom with a sunken tub. I want you to go soak in it while I make you –"
"A frittata," Amanda said hopefully.
"If you like, then yes. I have a fabulous wine to go with it."
"Sounds wonderful."
"Then let's go inside and enjoy the evening," Lee said.
"I thought you'd never ask," Amanda said and followed him inside.
THE END
