Serephine fell a few feet behind, even with years of training she could not keep up with a Steve Rogers. She nevertheless followed the man tirelessly, down the long, ruined streets. New York was being turned further to ash with each passing second, and Serephina permanently feared that one of the skyscrapers would collapse... Her ears rang as a beam of energy shredded the hood the girl was about to jump onto. Immediately she raised her gun and shot the metallic creature in the skull, nearly blowing it up... "Damn aliens." she muttered as the brunette inserted a new magazine, the old one falling carelessly onto the warm concrete.

She hurried around the car, catching up to Captain America after a sprint that left her lungs burning like fire. He had just kept running, at the end of the street they recognized some police cars. Steve jumped on one of the hoods, of the cars that still lit up the street with blue lights. Serephina finally caught up with him while he was talking to the officers. The girl stopped in the street, leaned on her knees and took a deep breath. Greedily she inhaled the warm air of New York.

She lifted her gaze again only when a dozen of the monsters appeared on the street and from the air. Immediately, the agent drew her gun again and shot about half of the creatures in the skull, while Steve destroyed the other half with his shield. Serephina had to dodge two blows, was hit in the shoulder and then shot the last creature. Immediately she gasped and held her bleeding shoulder while Steve pushed the last creature off the hood. The searing, deep pain, immediately ripped through her entire body and seemed to center at her shoulder. Gunshot wounds were the worst, but this was not even a typical gunshot wound.

The hero barked another command to the officers before turning back to the younger girl. "You're hurt." he immediately realized, walking towards her and meanwhile strapping his shield to his back. Immediately the brunette waved it off and looked at the bleeding wound, it wasn't gaping, it would just need stitches later. "It's okay," she added, then looked back up at Steve. The man was obviously concerned about her and opened his mouth to say something more. "Not my first wounds, Captain. We should get back to the others." she simply deflected as she circled her shoulder once, the joint was not shattered. Steve watched her closely as she moved, hesitated briefly, but then nodded. "Let's hurry.", he means more calmly and started walking again, this time much slower, so that Serephina could keep up better.

The pain in her shoulder remained and slowly ate through her whole arm, yet Serephina just tried to keep running. She had to concentrate, she was trained well enough for all this. Again and again, explosions echoed through the streets of New York and the air was thick with dust, the ashes of destruction flying everywhere.

Steve and Serephina finally reached the bridge again and saw Natasha and Clint fighting on it with about two dozen of the creatures. With Steve's help, the girl climbed back onto the bridge before he jumped up himself. Immediately, the heroes had to keep fighting. Clint's arrows disappeared into the creatures almost by the second, while Serephina and Natasha shot them specifically, only Steve destroyed the creatures that were too close to the group. They were literally torn apart by his shield. The creatures seemed to know no end.

The four had already been fighting for several minutes, but there was no end in sight, only when the beings, immediately in front of Serephina and Steve were struck by lightning, then the aliens fell motionless to the ground. Thor landed in front of the four and, breathing heavily, propped himself against an overturned car. The four took the opportunity to breathe deeply. Steve clutched his shield to his back, Clint counted his arrows, and Natasha turned to Serephina's wound. "How's it looking up there?" asked Steve of the god as he stood back up neatly. "The force field around the cube is impenetrable," the blond immediately explained, then Tony joined in via commlink, "He's right, we need to take care of the birds here first."

Now they were all looking up at the sky, where they were flying chariots around and taking well-aimed shots over and over again. "And how are we going to do that?", Natasha warned as she tightened the makeshift bandage around Serephina's shoulder. "As a team!" replied Steve decisively, looking around briefly at Serephina and Natasha, but then glancing at Thor, "I've got some unfinished business with Loki!" the blond simply replied. "Then get in line.", Clint spoke it quietly, not even looking at the god as he spoke, instead examining his arrowhead closely.

"Save yourselves the argument. Loki's going to focus the attacks on us, which is exactly what we need, or these things are going to run amok. Stark is up there, but he needs us to-" Steve had been leading the group down the street as he spoke. Silently, everyone followed him until he was interrupted by the sound of a motorcycle. On an old motorcycle, almost ready for the scrap heap, with an engine that sounded like it was about to explode, Bruce Banner rode through the rubble of the New York streets. With quick steps, Steve and Serephina walked towards the doctor, the latter worried about his health.
