UA is considered to be the greatest hero school in the world, and the greatest heroes in the world all have graduated from it. It is a goal that every to-be hero aims for, no matter how sincere their reasons for being a hero, or how strong they are. Unfortunately for him Izuku Midoriya is currently considered to be an example of the strength side of that argument.

Izuku Midoriya is a ten-year-old boy with a quirk that requires a very specific set of circumstances to activate, and those circumstances have not happened as of yet. It was heartbreaking for Izuku to have to live through life not knowing if his quirk will ever activate, what made that life even worse is that nobody believed him that he even had a quirk in the first place, they all thought it was just a lie to keep his hopes up. However his life was going to change, and it all started with a tamagotchi device that he just so happened to get his hands on.

Izuku was confused by the strange toy that his mother had given him. It was a small device that had very few buttons on it and held up to 512 pixels on the small screen in the middle of the device. The device itself was green and in the shape of a small egg, with a key chain connector on top. Once the device was turned on Izuku didn't really understand what to do for the first little while, however he managed to figure out what he was doing just in time to save the life of the strange creature shown on the device. Unfortunately Izuku didn't know how to describe the strange creature in front of him, it was as if it didn't have a full form yet.

Suddenly there was a loud noise that caught Izuku's attention. As he looked around he saw that the people around him had started to get up and leave, so Izuku started to do the same. You see, against her better judgment Inko had decided to send Izuku to a summer camp in hopes he would make some more friends. Since Izuku didn't have a phone yet and she didn't want her son to be bored on the bus ride to said camp, she decided to give him the strange device he holds now, apparently they were really popular when she was younger and practically everyone she knew had at least one or two.

Izuku didn't really understand the appeal of the device, but he continued to play it out of morbid curiosity, and because he had nothing else to do. Although what happened next Izuku could never have predicted. As he was pushed off of the trail by one of the children he was walking with, which led to him tumbling down a hill and getting knocked unconscious for about a minute. After he woke up he found that he still had the device for some reason, and that he was definitely going to get lost. He knew he had rolled down the hill beside him, and so decided to try and climb it, only to immediately slip and fall once he tried.

As Izuku got up he noticed a small cliff that ran across the hole he was in. It was far too high for Izuku to climb, yet was also just small enough for Izuku to look over it. Izuku decided to follow the cliff along its side, because he knew that it would merge back into the hill, something that Izuku could climb.

Izuku thought that he had been walking for hours, it most likely wasn't the case but he still thought that way. Izuku would also check in on the device every once in a while to keep it happy, and alive, mainly alive. The creature on the screen did change in appearance though, but it was shown to be happy because of this so Izuku wasn't worried by it. Now the creature was a bit larger, and had a shape Izuku could more easily describe. It was an anthropomorphic creature with a dinosaur-like head, arms that had fins and small claws, a mermaid tail, and two dinosaur-like legs with smaller claws on them. That is what Izuku could make out anyways

Izuku kept walking mindlessly before noticing that he nearly started to stray from the cliff-side, but as he started to walk back towards the cliff he heard a low growling sound. Izuku quickly turned to see that he had caught the attention of a wolf, and a lot more were coming. Izuku decided that the best course of action was to start running and hope to lose them in the bush, afterwards he could try to find his way back to the cliff and continue trying to find a way up.

So Izuku immediately started running, he moved as fast as his legs could carry him, secretly thanking the other, older children in school for chasing him as it made him far faster. Unfortunately for Izuku, the wolf was still far faster then he was and catching up to him fast. Izuku barely managed to dodge a lunge from the wolf behind him, Izuku was also lucky that it slipped and lost its footing for just long enough for Izuku to make some semblance of room between them. However that idea was shot down when another wolf jumped in front of him, ready to attack. Izuku immediately turned away from the wolf while keeping up his pace. However Izuku's fear would only skyrocket when he heard a deep rather demonic growling.

Suddenly a black creature lunged at one of the wolves behind Izuku, killing it instantly. The beast then turned its attention to the other wolf, attacking it with one of its claws. The wolf managed to dodge the attack and attempted to fight back, only to be killed by the beast shortly after. The creature then looked towards Izuku and started to chase the boy.

Izuku was running even faster than before as his adrenaline pushed his body to new limits. Unfortunately he had stopped paying attention to the world around him and tripped on the root of a tree. As Izuku got up the beast had managed to catch up to Izuku, approaching the bot with a low growl. Izuku turned around to see the creature behind him, it looked like a wolf mixed with a saber tooth tiger, however the creature was mostly black with red veins along its body, and a skull for a head. It was a Grimm that had followed Izuku, more specifically a Beowulf. Izuku fell yet again out of fear and crawled away from the Grimm as much as he could, only to end up against a tree. Izuku then put his hands up in a useless attempt to try and block the creature's next attack, tamagotchi still in his hand. The Grimm crept towards Izuku, and lunged at the boy ready to devour him whole, however before the Grimm reached the boy a blinding light emanated from the device in his hand.

The Grimm had stopped in its tracks, stunned by the sudden flash of light. Then both the Grimm and Izuku looked to see a new creature standing between them, glowing. "Monodramon!" It shouted as it stopped glowing. The Grimm didn't seem to care about the new arrival and got ready to attack the creature. "Alright, listen up. You were attacking my friend, so this is your only warning to leave before I turn you into mince-meat." The creature said in a cocky tone as it got into a battle ready position. The Grimm didn't take the warning and lunged at the creature. "Beat Knuckle!" The creature said, with an echoing voice as it punched the Beowulf in the side of its jaw, launching it backwards. "Warned you." It said once the Grimm landed. "Shadow Wing!" The creature shouted as it launched a vacuum blade at the beast, cutting it clean in half.

Izuku was amazed by what he saw, that strange creature just destroyed the Grimm with one attack. He was so caught up in the moment he nearly didn't notice the creature turn to him. "Hey, you okay buddy?" The creature asked. This snapped Izuku out of his thoughts as he looked towards the one who saved him. "O-Oh uh, yeah I'm okay. Thank you." Izuku answered.

"That's good. Anyways You are probably confused about what's going on right?" The creature asked.

"Yeah." Izuku replied.

"Well you see, my name is Monodramon, and I am part of your quirk." Monodramon responded.

Izuku's brain shut down at that moment. He had finally unlocked his quirk, and it was talking to him. He didn't really know how to comprehend everything that had just happened to him. "Hey buddy, you okay?" Monodramon asked, once again snapping Izuku back into reality. "O-Oh, sorry. It is just a lot to take in." Izuku answered shyly. "It's okay, you just had me worried there for a second." Monodramon replied. "Actually where are we anyways?" Monodramon asked. "We're in a forest. I was pushed off of the path I was supposed to follow and ended up here after being chased by the Grimm that you defeated." Izuku answered. "WAIT, SO WE'RE LOST!?" Monodramon shouted, making Izuku cover his ears. "Well, what do we have here?" A calm yet tired voice asked no one in particular.

Izuku and Monodramon both immediately turn to where the voice was coming from. "I was supposed to just be hunting some stray Grimm that made it into the area, and now I have a kid who just unlocked his quirk." The voice said. When Izuku saw who was speaking he immediately recognized them as 'The Unlucky Hero: Qrow'. "You are honestly kinda lucky I was in the area, who knows how long it would have taken for a search party to find you." The pro-hero explained, "Now then let's get you two somewhere safe, hopefully we will also be able to update your quirk registry as well." He said before he started to walk away, signaling for the duo to follow him.

It took about an hour for Qrow, Izuku, and Monodramon to make it to where the heroes had set up a base of operations. In that time Monodramon explained what he knew about Izuku's quirk, which unfortunately wasn't much. However it did set the baseline for what he could do with it.

Izuku's quirk, aptly named 'Digimon', lets him take computer data and shape it into a sentient form that he can then bring into the real world through the tamagotchi device, which changed its shape into that of a flip phone once Monodramon was summoned, Izuku was just to caught up in the moment to notice. Qrow seemed to be rather impressed by the quirk, and offered to teach Izuku some self defense in case someone attacked Izuku when he didn't have any digimon available to defend him. Izuku accepted the offer of course, and didn't even think twice about the reasons behind Qrow's actions. Monodramon was a little more cautious of Qrow's offer, but with it being Izuku's choice he wouldn't protest, and if something were to happen to Izuku Monodramon would be right there to protect him.
