Chapter 3 - Adjusting to the Quirk
(AN: Before I get into the chapter I just want to say that I will be adding two fan submissions to the final roster of Digimon that Izuku will have in his arsenal. There are only two rules: 1) No Partner digimon of any main characters from any of the animes (I already have enough of those), and 2) They must be a rookie level digimon, I don't care if you give an entire evolution line for the digimon or just the digimon you wanted, but if you do give an evolution line and your suggestion gets picked I will use the evolution line you gave me.)

Inko, Izuku, and Monodramon had just arrived at Qrow's house, where Izuku would be doing his training to become a hero. It was important for Izuku to become acquainted with this place, and those in it.
As the trio approached the house Izuku tried to hide himself behind Monodramon. Monodramon seemed to have a similar mindset as the digimon covered as much of Izuku's body as he could with their small size and frame. Inko couldn't help but giggle at the pair as she found what they were doing to be absolutely adorable, and she also managed to take a picture of the scene without them knowing.
Inko then knocked on the door as only a second later the door opened to reveal Qrow. "Ah, you're here, good. The others had just arrived not that long ago, they are ready to meet you so please come on in." He explained moving to let the Midoriya family into his home, a small yet subtle smirk growing on his face as he saw what Izuku and Monodrmon were doing.
Monodramon slowly moved beside Izuku as they walked through the house, they were still on guard, just less protective of Izuku. Izuku also became a little more comfortable inside the house, it had this feeling of safety to it that he rarely found outside of his own home. The duo became a tiny bit less comfortable when they saw the figures they didn't recognize in the living room. One was an adult man with blond hair, he looked fairly fit and he seemed like the type who could easily throw a punch before you could blink. The second was a young girl, she seemed to be two years older than Izuku, she had long blond hair and yellow eyes, she was punching the air in front of the man when the Midoriyas entered the room. The third person was another young girl, this one seemed to be the same age as Izuku, she had black hair and silver eyes unlike the other two there, she seemed to be super energetic as she was practically vibrating in excitement upon seeing the Midoriyas.
"Alright everyone, I would like you to meet the Midoriyas. These are the special guests I was talking about earlier." Qrow said to the trio.
"I guess I will start with the introductions then. My name is Inko Midoriya. It is a pleasure to meet you all." Inko introduced herself.
"It is nice to meet you too Mrs Midoriya. My name is Taiyang Xiao Long." The Blond man introduced himself.
"And I'm Yang Xiao Long. It is nice to meet you." The blond girl introduced herself soon after.
"My name is Ruby Rose, it is nice to meet all of you."
"Come on Izuku, you can do this." Monodramon quietly encouraged Izuku.
"M-My name is Izuku Mi-Midoriya. It's a pl-pleasure to meet you a-all." Izuku stuttered through his nervousness.
"And my name is Monodramon, and I am part of Izuku's quirk." Monodramon glouted, although it was clear that he didn't intend to be gloating.
Upon hearing this both Yang and Ruby had stars in their eyes as they looked at both Monodramon and Izuku. Tai also looked impressed by this revelation, sentient quirks were rare, so having one that so vastly contrasts the user's personality is extremely fascinating to him. "Woah, that's so cool!" Ruby said in excitement. "Yeah, I've never seen a quirk like that before!" Yang agreed with equal amounts of excitement.
Izuku was startled and confused by the sudden praise coming from the two girls, he wasn't used to getting praise from any other people, this made it even harder for him to speak to the two girls. Monodramon would have said something if it weren't for the fact that Ruby and Yang were dashing around them, looking at them from various angles trying to figure out how he works. Monodramon was slightly uncomfortable with how close the two girls were moving and kept getting taken off-guard each time they moved locations.
"Now, now girls. You are making them uncomfortable." Taiyang called to the girls calmly. Said girl immediately stopped what they were doing and apologized for what they were doing, although Monodramon was still unable to respond to them. Taiyang was still curious about Monodramon himself, he had a feeling there was more Izuku's quirk than just having a dragon like creature with him.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, other than Monodramon what does your quirk do?" Taiyang asked Izuku, leaning towards Izuku after speaking to see how Izuku responds. "O-Oh, well I can create more creatures like Monodramon, and evolve them to different, stronger form if they collect enough points through training and winning fights. My quirk doesn't really affect me directly." Izuku explained rather shyly, he was silently surprised he managed to speak to Taiyang, someone who had just met today with such little stuttering. "I suspect that you would like a demonstration of the kid's quirk right." Qrow asks Taiyang. "Yes, I would like to see it action. If you are willing too that is Midoriya." Taiyang responded. "Well, I don't have enough points to try out creation or evolution yet, but I'm pretty sure that Monodramon is willing to show you what he can do, right Monodramon." Izuku replied both in both nervousness and excitement. "You bet 'cha." Monodramon agreed in a prideful tone, "I don't want to get rusty after all." They then commented sheepishly. "Okay it will take a minute for us to set everything up, so why don't we all go outside to make things easier." Taiyang suggested. Everyone agreed with the suggestion that was presented and both Taiyang and Qrow got to work setting things up for Monodramon.

Everyone was now all gathered together as they watched Monodramon, who was currently standing a few feet away from a boulder. "Whenever you are ready you can start." Taiyang instructed. Upon hearing that Monodramon rushed the boulder. "Shadow Wing!" Monodramon shouted with an echoing voice as air covered the fins on their arms, then threw it at the boulder. The boulder was cut clean in half by the attack launching the top half upwards, however Monodramon wasn't done yet. Monodramon jumped at the top half of the boulder, pulling their fist back for an attack. "Beat Knuckle!" Monodramon shouted again, pushing the top of the boulder. The boulder shattered once the attack landed, none of the pieces were larger than Monodramon's arm. "Crack Bite!" Monodramon shouted a third time, opening their jaws as much as they could, their teeth sparked with electricity. Suddenly a large transparent set of sharp teeth appeared an inch in front of Monodramon's face, each tooth was the size of their head and small sparks of electricity flowed between them. Monodramon then chomped down on the air, the transparent teeth following suit, doing as much, if not more damage than their previous attack.
Everyone there was either surprised or amazed by what they saw. Monodramon managed to destroy the boulder so easily that it looked as though they weren't even trying. "Incredible, they did it so quickly. And for such an early stage in its development." Taiyang spoke to himself in shock. "This wasn't too surprising for me, I saw that thing take down a Beowulf on its own, in two attacks might I add." Qrow commented matter-of-factually. Taiyang didn't know what else to say, he had been told about how Izuku only got his quirk the day before while they were moving the boulder, which was a hard thing to do without damaging it. Knowing what he knows now only made Monodramon's display of power all the more impressive, and what Qrow said even more so.
Ruby and Yang had similar reactions to each other, they both were originally frozen in place by their amazement, outside of their parents and some pro heroes they have never seen someone or even something be able to break a boulder so easily. However once they were no longer frozen they dashed over to Monodramon, who had just gotten out of the rubble, asking to see more. Monodramon, then suddenly decided that Izuku needed to learn to be social the hard way and deflected the question of if they could onto Izuku, who tried to hide himself behind Inko once the two girls ran over.
Something similar to this interaction would happen over the next few weeks, Although Izuku did seem to become less shy towards the girls over that time.

*Time Skip, End of Summer Break*
Summer Break had ended and now it was time for him to return to his schooling. While Izuku had grown more confident he was still scared of school, and he was even more scared of how it would react to his quirk and by extension, Monodramon. He was scared that he was still going to be attacked, or that Monodramon would hate him because of everyone else there. Monodramon managed to pick up on these fears and was doing everything they could to calm Izuku down, unfortunately it wasn't working.
Izuku currently had Monodramon in the tamagotchi phone, or 'digivice' as Ruby called it. He was walking to class with his head looking down at the ground, managing to dodge the people around him on pure instinct. The school had been informed of Izuku's development of a quirk, and the basics of what it did so he wouldn't need to convince too many people that he has a quirk, it would still be a tough job though.
Once Izuku got to class he saw that his desk had been cleaned. All of the threats and insults previously written on it were completely removed, there was a chance that it was simply just a different desk since completely cleaning it would take a lot of time, but it was most likely just cleaned by a janitor. Izuku also noticed that the teachers were looking at him like any other student, the disgust in their eyes for him had seemingly completely disappeared for seemingly no reason, Izuku knew the reason though, it was the fact that he had a quirk now. Originally when Izuku thought that having a quirk would make his life better he thought that he would like it. But now that he is experiencing it he hates it, he hates it more than how he was treated when he was quirkless, it shows him that those around him would do anything for power and to be close to it, and heroes don't endorse that kind of behavior. That empty, selfish, two-face kind of behavior, it sickened him. So he chose not to be friends with anyone who changed like that on the spot, because he knew that they weren't being genuine, and if they wouldn't be genuine he would be friends with them.
As the morning bell rang Izuku's classmates also noticed how Izuku was being treated differently by the teachers, they questioned it, but not to the teachers, just to each other or in their heads. Although one student in particular was especially confused by the sudden change, and was a lot more vocal about it then the others. "DEEKKUUUU!" The student roared as he made his way over to Izuku. Izuku immediately turned around to see the student in question, the student was a boy, with spiky ash-blond hair, red eyes, and small explosions cracking in his hands. This boy was Katsuki Bakugou, and he had been Izuku's lead tormentor over the time that he had been quirkless. "THE HECK MAKES YOU SO SPECIAL TODAY HUH!? WHY THE HELL ARE YOU BEING TREATED LIKE THIS ALL OF THE SUDDEN!? TELL ME YOU DAMN NERD!?" The ash-blond yelled, grabbing Izuku by the collar with one hand, while the other was ready to pelt the freckled boy with explosions. "That's enough Bakugou!" Their homeroom teacher intervened, "We have a very important announcement regarding Midoriya and we don't have any time to waste, so sit down before I send you to the principal's office." They explained. The explosive boy reluctantly let go of Izuku, a furious expression remaining on his face as he left the broccoli haired boy to take his seat.
Once everyone was in their seats and attendance had been taken, the homeroom teacher decided to go over the announcements by starting with Izuku's brand new quirk. "Izuku Midoriya, will you please come to the front of the classroom?" The teacher asked. Izuku complied and went to the front of the class, standing beside the teachers desk. "You, see class. Today I am happy to announce that Midoriya awakened his quirk over the summer break." The teacher said in excitement. Izuku took this chance to look over the class to see who he should stay away from. Izuku noticed some faces of amazement, some of disgust or disbelief, a few of irritation, and only a handful of genuine happiness. "Would you please give us a small demonstration of your quirk, Midoryia." The teacher asked. Izuku nodded to the teacher before pulling out his digivice and loading in Monodramon. A beam of light then shot out of the digivice, stopping a few feet away from Izuku and generating a ball of light, half a second later the sphere of light popped and Monodramon came out of it.
Other than Bakugou, those who didn't like the idea of Izuku having a quirk were now supporting it full-heatedly, and there were now even fewer people that Izuku thought was being genuine, so few that the number could be counted on one hand. Izuku spent the rest of the day doing schoolwork and answering questions about his quirk without giving all too much away to those he didn't deem trustworthy. Izuku had also managed to explain himself to Monodramon without somebody eavesdropping on the conversation, while Monodramon didn't fully understand they were okay with Izuku's decision and supported him, although Monodramon wanted an explanation of why Izuku made the decision in the first place.
The school day soon ended and Izuku went back home, he hoped that things would be turning out better for him in the future, although something told him that there was going to be a lot of work to do before that happens.
(AN: The next few chapters will be focusing on new additions to the team and unlocking their evolutions, there will be small character arcs here and there but most of them won't start to pay off, or end, until Izuku is in UA. So with that being said see you next chapter!)
