That same night, both blocks had a banquet in one of the many lounges of the Silver Tower, surrounded by periodists. Tsutsumi and Natalia were bombarded by cameras and mics, and in the background Enko and Arata where devouring all the food they could reach from their side of the table. Tsutsumi wanted to sit on the table as well, but because he was followed by dozens of cameras Enko decided to skiddadle out of there into the rooms; Arata on the other hand grabbed a bunch of food plates and went outside to the streets.
The halls were huge, adorned with fancy lamps and red carpet across all the floor. "Room 205, where is room 205?" Said Enko wandering around. "Here it is!" Enko opened the door, seeing Masaki sitting infront of a laptop, clearly pissed. "Please don't tell me-"
"-We are roommates." Said Masaki sighing. "Just don't be noisy, Keiko."
"Hey why weren't you in the banquet?" Asked Enko plunging into his bed.
"I told you not to be noisy. If the press saw a Tatsuya on an event like this they won't leave me alone, I have enough as it is." Said Masaki not even looking at Enko. "But I guess you should know the importance of a last name."
"Whatever you say. Hey, what are you searching?" Said Enko, already snuggled between the blankets. No response. "Are you still mad?" No response yet. "I'm guessing you're still mad."
"I said not. be. noisy." Said Masaki slamming the desk. "I'm looking everywhere I can to find my mother's necklace, happy now? shut up and let me work."
"Okay, sorry." Said Enko turning to face the wall. "Tomorrow is the first duel on my block, I should go to sleep." Masaki didn't respond this time, instead typing away in his laptop.
Meanwhile, outside of the Silver Tower it was raining again, and Arata had taken cover below the front door of a nearby building, lighting his cigarette. After standing there for a while, he decided to pay visit to his regular place, a club hidden in one of the maney alleys of the city. The place in question was called "Ardens Libido", a place reeking of tobacco, alcohol and sweat, perfect for Arata. The place was filled to the brim with people dancing to booming music, almost like in a trance caused by the flashing red, blue and green lights. Arata wasn't here for that, instead he pushed anyone on his way until he reached a velvet door, marked with a Golden emblem. Inside, an old man in a black suit was sitting on a red couch, smoking a big cigar, looking at Arata with disdain. He on the other hand took his blazer out and grabbed one of the cigars without asking, smirking at the old man while doing it. "Looking good." Said Arata putting his feet on the table, sitting on the couch facing the other one.
"What brings you here now? I thought you never wanted to come back." Said the old man.
"Oh come on, I have to visit you whilst you're still here. Also, I came to ask you something, do you know anything about a guy named Gardius?" Said Arata, blowing the smoke to the old guy.
"Gardius? Business man I believe, why do you ask?" Said the old man.
"Hmmm, nothing. I was just curious." Said Arata looking confused. "That name is familiar. Are you sure he is just a business man?"
"If it he was something more I would know. Maybe if you joined us for once I could give you more information." Said the old man.
"(Kemuri Norowareta, Yakuza's old fart of a boss. Always up my ass.) The Yakuza is a thing of the past fossil, stop bugging me about it. Also, you rats still owe me money, the work I did wasn't for free." Replied Arata. "You all are a floating boat I'm not willing to be a part of."
"Tsch." Kemuri spat at Arata. "After all I have done for you and you disrespect me like that, we had an agreement Arata, I would let you take care of the boy and YOU joined us."
"That was 10 years ago, the only thing you've done for me is give me a nicotine addiction." Arata stood up violently, flipping the table. "I saved Enomoto from all of you, don't you ever think I'm going to crawl to your fucking feet, Norowareta. Ever since Bruno disappeared the Yakuza has been a joke, and you're not different. Jesus can't even ask a fucking question." Arata stormed out of the room, secretly followed by to henchmen in black.
The rain was puring again, drenching everything knee deep. After a while of wandering, Arata saw some lights in the distance, it was the public library. He ran to it knocking on the glass door, scaring his friend, Fumiko Momobami. She was saved by the Yakuza from an abusive relationship when Arata was still semi working with them in the Bruno era, and Fumiko was sent to live in an aparment above the library, and work there.
"What are you doing in the rain!?" Said Fumiko with a worried expresion. "Do you want a hot tea? Wait I'll go for towels!"
"It's okay Fumiko-chan." Said Arata in a gentle voice. "I won't be staying for long either, I have places to be." Arata sat on one of the desks, taking his blazer once more.
"Yeah I saw you on TV, ehe~" Said Fumiko boiling some water. "If you were that hungry you could've just come here."
"You saw it? sigh Yeah that little brat tricked me into joining that card thing." Said Arata face palming. "I guess it's not horrible but it's not my cup of tea either. And the worst part is that stupid old fu-" The lights went out, complete darkness except for the usual lightning iluminating from the front doors. In one of those instances of light, Arata saw three figures standing infront of him, the henchmen. He took his wet shirt and ran towards the henchmen, eyes glowing red. "Fumiko, duck!" Screamed Arata as he smashed one of the henchman against one of the tables, breaking it in half. The other two tried to grab Arata, but with a swift jump he dodged them and hit their faces together. In one of the flashes of light, the first henchman landed a punch on his stomach, making Arata stumble just enough to be punched in the face too, landing on the bookshelf behind him. The henchman went to tackle Arata but he ducked, kneeing the henchman in the chest, finishing it with a book to the face. Arata didn't had the time to check his bleeding nose before the second henchman hit his ribs with a baton and then in the legs. Arata hold his screams back and while he was in the floor, he thre an uppercut to the henchman, sending it flying to the broken table. The pain was killiing him but he had a last guy to take care of. Aratra grabbed the baton and bent it, rendering it useless. In another instance of light, the third henchman tackled Arata into the ground, pushing against his damaged ribs. The pain was driving Arata insane, but he reunited the strength to get on top of the henchman, grabbing a meditation guide, opening it and smashing the henchman in the face with it, finally neutralizing the three of them.
Fumiko finally got the lights to work again, only to see the wrecking Arata had cause. After attending his wounds, Arata got his clothes back and decided to head back to the SIlver Tower, it was almost 6am.
"What!?" Said Fumiko. "You need to go to the hospital right now!"
"Nonsense, I've endured worse." Said Arata holding his side. "I need to go back there, otherwise Enko will get worried, also, I don't trust one bit that Gardius guy, I don't trust leaving Enomoto back there. I appreciate the concern but trust me, I got this." Arata gave Fumiko a thumbs up and made his way into the Silver Tower, beaten up, just in time to crash into his bed to rest a few hours.
The next morning, the two blocks were gathered in their usual halls, waiting to be called to the elevators. This time the duelists will be from block B, and Enko was excited to be called into action. The hooded guy was in his usual spot, far away from the group of people, Enko wanted to talk to him but the speakers started, naming him and his teacher, Majima Gorou. "Good luck sensei!" said Enko trying to be polite, although he still sounded a bit forced.
"Yeah whatever." Said Majima entering the elevator. Seeing his teacher outside of school time was still weird, but he needed to prove he could be a duelist, even if it was to spite on Masaki and his victory from the last few days.
/WELCOME EVERYONE WATCHING AT HOME, IT'S ME GARDIUS! TODAY IS THE START OF THE BLOCK B, A BLOCK FULL OF ASPIRING DUELISTS WITH A PASSION TO IMPROVE! OUR FANTASTIC DUELISTS FOR THIS MORNING ARE MAJIMA GOROU, A TEACHER WELL KNOWN FOR HIS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND PAST AS A YAKUZA AAAAAAAND, ENOMOTO KEIKO! ONE OF HIS STUDENTS THAT WANTS TO SHOW WHAT HE'S CAPABLE OF! DESPITE HIS LAST NAME, THIS BOY IS READY TO TAKE ON THE COMPETITION!/
Enko sighed after hearing that last part, what was the deal with his last name? If it was something important Arata would've told him by now... The doors opened, revealing the same type of stadium Tsutsumi dueled in, but now, it was Enko's turn to shine.
/Starting duel/
"Draw! (heh, I spent all night reading online about my cards, this should be easy peasy!) I summon Obnoxious Celtic Guard in ATK position!" The elf warrior materialized on the field, shinning with a golden aura. "Then I set a card and end my turn, easy steps."
"Keiko, you won't get far with such simple plans. Draw!" Said Majima. His more serious tone changed for a more active one, he knew his kids were watching at home. "I activate my field spell, Myutant Evolution Lab!" The stadium changed to a spacious laboratory, slightly iluminated by all the incubation chambers on the sides. "When it's activated I can special summon a level 4 or lower Myutant monster, Myutant M-05!" One of the incubation chambers iluminated more, revealing a small creature with a drill like tip and a blue beady eye. "Now, M-05 brings me a Myutant monster from my deck, Myutant ST-46!" Another incubation chamber iluminated, revealing this time a creature with multiple tips and a red beady eye. "ST-46 instead brings me a Myutant spell or trap, which I set."
"Oiii, slow down!" Said Enko, completely forgetting he's on TV.
"As your biology & chemistry teacher I should be disappointed in your lack of focus, as your tutor, I'm not surprised." Replied Majima. "Now, watch as I create new life! I tribute M-05 and banish a monster in my hand to special summon Myutant Beast!" The incubation chamber fileld with a purple liquid, shaking violently. Majima threw his monster card to it and M-05 transformed into a gigantic monster, with big sharp claws a strong tail and endless beady blue eyes. "This isn't all, I tribute ST-46 and banish a spell card from my hand to special summon Myutant Mist!" Majima did the same process, instead ST-46 turned into an indescribable figure, akin to a flower with spreading tentacles all over the place. "Myutant Evolution Lab also increases the power of my creations for every Myutant banished car, a 100 ATK each. Your turn, Keiko."
"He didn't attack." Said Oki confused.
"He's testing Enko, look!" Replied Kazuki.
A strong glow came from one of the corners of the lab, it was a card, going back to Majima's deck. "Metaphys Nephtys comes back to my deck when banished, adding a Metaphys card to my hand."
"Metaphys." Said Masaki. "How is this guy in Block B?"
"Draw! Come to me little guy, Al-Lumira'j!" Enko's trusty partner came, weaking all monster on the field once more.
/Myutant Beast current ATK: 100/
/Myutant Beast current ATK: 400/
/Al-Lumira'j current ATK: 700/
/Celtic Guard current ATK: 200/
"Now, I activate graceful dice!" The little guy depicted in the card appeared, rolling a blue die.
"Myutant Beast effect activates!" Exclaimed Majima. "I can banish one card from my hand to negate your spell!" The beast stood on it's back legs, crushing the dice with it's weight.
"Ugh fine! Backup plan, Al-Lumira'j, Celtic Guard, synchro summon!" Enko clapped his hands, flashing a white light into the field. Both the monsters turned into energy flying high into the sky, iluminating completely the whole lab. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Enko's monster appeared on the field, roaring with power.
"You idiot!" Said Athena. "Now his monsters have high ATK again!"
"Your turn, sensei!" Said Enko. The thrill of letting out his ace card outweight the thought of it not being the best choice right now.
"Draw!" Another card flew back into Majima's deck. "Metaphys Dedalus, posseses the same ability as Nephtys, instead letting me banish a card. (Clear wing, I can't risk activating an effect right now or it's ATK will sky rocket. Good thing Keiko read his cards outloud last night.) "I summon Metaphys Ragnarok, banishing 3 cards from the top of my deck, making it gain 300 ATK for each."
/Metaphys Ragnarok current ATK: 2100/
"Now, I activate Myutant Fusion!" Both Beast and Mist started melting together, forming an indescribable horro of tentacles and teeth. "Myutant Synthesis, when summoned, It destroys one card on the field!" One of it's tentacle, the one with the blue eye, went for synchro dragon, gripping it.
"Hold your horses!" Said Enko pointing. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon; Synchro acceleration!" Synchro Dragon started glowing, scorching Synthesis and destroying it. "Any level 5 or higher monster effect is completely useless against Clear Wing!"
/Clear Wing Synchro Dragon current ATK: 5000/
"Damnit!" Said Majima. "I'm too old for this. When Myutant Synthesis is created I can add one banished Myutant card to my hand. Your turn Keiko."
"Draw!" Again, two glowing cards went to Majima's deck, both his Dedalus, banishing a card from his deck in return. "I summon Alexandrite Dragon in ATK position!" A dragon made of jewels came from the skies, reflecting Clear Wing's light on his skin. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon; Mach Speed!" Synchro Dragon zapped around at the speed of sound, striking Ragnarok with the power of a jet plane.
/Player 2 remaining Life Points: 3600/
"Alexandrite Dragon, Czar Crown!" Alexandrite Dragon breathed white fire from it's mouth, burning the entirity of Majima's field.
/Player 2 remaining Life Points: 1600/
"Yes! I got this!" Said Enko happily.
"Good grief." Said Majima. "My kids are watching I cannot let them down! Draw!" Another two glows came to Majima's deck, Metaphys Nephtys and Metaphys Tyrant Dragon. "Nephtys adds a card to my hand, and with the mighy of Tyrant Dragon, I can special summon Metaphys Ragnarok!" Ragnarok banished 3 cards again, gaining ATK for each. "Field spell, METAPHYS FACTOR!" The Laboratory banished, revealing a dark night sky, with a glowing crack above Majima, from which it came a glowing mystical mist. "I summon Necroface, returning all banished cards to their decks and gaining ATK for each!"
/Necroface current ATK: 2000/
"I activate my trap card, Myutant Expansion! Summoning ST-46 from my deck, then tributing it and the trap it added to my hand to special summon Myutant Arsenal!"
"3-3000 ATK?" Screamed Enko. "Even if it doesn't activate any effects, I'm done for."
"Myutant Arsenal, Metaphys Ragnarok, Synchro summon!" Both monsters burned ablaze, unleashing an immense power. From the explosion appeared a white and red robot with black tattered wings, and with it's blazing sword it absorbed the flames from whence it came. "GEOMATHMECH FINAL SIGMA!"
"LEVEL 12 SYNCHRO?" Said Tsutsumi. "Oh man he was so close to winning."
"FINAL SIGMA, MENTOR'S FIRE!" Geomathmech's sword burned even more brightly, shattering Synchro Dragon and sending a heat wave to Enko. "When Final Sigma destroys a monster, all damage is doubled!"
/Player 1 Remaining Life Points: 3000/
"Necroface, Soul Absorption!" Necroface latched unto Alexandrite Dragon, making it fire at Necroface, shattering both. "Let's see if now you pay more attention in my classes, Keiko!"
"Make me! Draw! I summon Obnoxious Celtic Guard in DEF position!" The Elf warrior appeared once more, this time creating a magic barrier infront of him by lifting his shield. "(come on buddy you have to buy me another turn!)Your turn!"
"Draw!" Said Majima, getting more and more into the duel. "By the effect of Metaphys Factor I can summon Nephtys without tributing, banishing it during the end phase!" The majestic phoenix appeared next to FInal Sigma, and as said it banished into the glowing crack in the sky. Once it was Enko's turn again, the glowing card went back to Majima's deck, giving him a card. "Never in my life I thought I would be thrilled by something related to you, Keiko."
"I say the same teacher!" Said Enko drawing a card. "Maybe if your classes were all like this I would get all A's! I summon Yokotuner, and this guy specials summon Al-Lumira'j from my graveyard, without it's effects sadly. Now, come back, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Enko's ace card made his appareance once more, looking at Final Sigma like it remembered it. "Now, I set a card then end my turn!"
"COME ON ENOMOTO FINISH HIM ALREADY!" Screamed Arata, holding his pain back.
"FInal Sigma, Mentor's Fire!" Screamed Majima pointing at Yokotuner. The sumo dog braced for impact, but a blue wavy shield appeared infront of Enko's side of the field, shattering Final Sigma back into the deck. "WHAT!?"
"YES! MAYBE I'M NOT SO DUMB SENSEI! CLEAR WING SYNCHRO DRAGON, MACH SPEED!" Synchro Dragon zapped around all stage, charging power. In a blink of an eye it was infront of Majima, finishing the duel with a backflip tail attack.
/YOU'VE SEEN IT WITH YOUR OWN VERY EYES EVERYONE! ENOMOTO KEIKO COMES OUT VICTORIOUS AFTER HIS FIRST DUEL! COULD WE BE INFRONT OF THE NEXT NEW PROMISE? I'VE BEEN GARDIUS AND WE WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW WITH MORE FANTASTIC DUELS!"
Back in the hall, Tsutsumi was jumping with Enko celebrating his victory, even Masaki greeted him nicely for once. Arata reunited the strength to stand up, hiding his rib pain and celebrating with Enko. "You showed him Enomoto! Keep it up!"
"Thanks Aniki!" Said Enko hugging Arata. "I knew I could do this if I have you here!" Enko pushed on Arata's ribs by mistake, but he still didn't even groan about it.
"Keiko, good duel." Said Masaki before heading back to their room. "But don't get too cocky, you're still a novice."
"Whatever you say, Tatsuya!" Enko went to talk with Majima-Sensei, who was smoking outside.
"Huh? Oh it's you Keiko." Said Majima back with his serious tone. "Doesn't matter you've won, you still owe last summer's homework."
"Ugh, what?" Said Enko perplexed. "I mean this counts as passing the semester right?"
"Yeah, sure buddy." Said Majima ruffling Enko's hair. "Good luck with the other ones, I know you can crush them." Majima went back to his home to be with his kids. Enko waved at him and said goodbye, going back to the dorms.
When Majima arrived home he was only greeted by dead silence, only interrupted by the creeking of the wooden floor, and a dripping sound coming from the living room. Following the sound, Majima found the TV still on, and the floor really wet, although it was to dark to see what it was. He took a step further into the leaving room, hearing to steps behind him, a loud bang, and then all fading to black... Silence once more.
