"Cassie! Where are you!" Ash shouted, rushing beside the river. "If you can hear me say something!"
Ash ran past a clearing as Pikachu stopped, looking at what was inside.
"Pikachu, what's up did you find Cassie?" Ash asked, doubling back.
The clearings was primarily stone with several large boulders scattered about, but what made it interesting was who was in there.
"Jiggly?" Jigglypuff said, tilting her head.
"It's you!" Ash exclaimed. "Gahh! I don't have time for this!"
"Jiggly!" Jigglypuff exclaimed, puffing up her body.
"Look, I just have other things to worry about right now." Ash said.
As Ash turned around, he felt a small stone hit the back of his head.
"Fine, you win." Ash said. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
A bolt of electricity shot out at Jigglypuff, the balloon pokemon floating away from the burst. As the pink Pokémon began to descend, Pikachu ran back to its trainer for a quick moment. Giving each other a nod, the battle resumed.
Ash watched Jigglypuff's lips move, indicating it was singing at the moment, thankfully he had thought ahead and purchased noise canceling ear plugs for him and Pikachu just for this, unfortunately it also meant Pikachu was on his own.
Pikachu rushed forward at Jigglypuff, knocking the balloon Pokemon backwards. Jigglypuff ran forward and began slapping PIkachu, trying its best to fight the more experienced Pokemon. Pikachu released a spiral of sparks at Jigglypuff, surrounding it in electricity.
"Alright. Pokeball, go!" Ash exclaimed.
The Pokeball shook three times before it stopped moving. Finally able to relax Ash took out his ear plugs only to hear a very loud shouting coming from his watch.
"ASH! ASH! I'M HEADING YOUR WAY!" Kazor's voice screamed.
"Kazor, what's going on?" Ash asked
"ASH! Sorry Ash. You haven't been moving or responding so I worried there might have been another issue." Kazor said.
"I ran into a Jigglypuff, sorry, I used earplugs to avoid it's sing attack." Ash said.
"A Jigglypuff who can even put trainers to sleep with it's song, incredible." Kazor said. "Have you found your sister yet?"
"No, the Jigglypuff wasn't leaving us alone, so I had to take care of that too." Ash said.
"Okay, keep looking, she's out here somewhere." Kazor said.
"I wonder?" Ash said, thinking about his new Pokémon.
A few minutes later
"Now we can see a lot more from up here." Ash said, hanging onto Jigglypuff, Pikachu on his shoulders as they floated above the tree line.
After a while of floating around Ash saw something down below that caught his eye.
"Jigglypuff, down there!" Ash said.
Not used to carrying passengers, JIgglypuff completely deflated, causing all three to begin plummeting to the woods below.
Down by the riverbank
"Ash, where'd you go?" Cassie asked worriedly. It had been a few hours since she had been separated from Pikachu, and she couldn't find her way back.
'CRASH'
Cassie looked behind her to see leaves falling to the ground, scanning her eyes upwards, she saw Ash and Pikachu tangled up in his bag and several branches.
"Cassie! You're okay!" Ash happily exclaimed.
"Ash? Are you okay?!" Cassie asked.
"A little rough landing, but nothing we can't handle." Ash said. "We'll get the hang of it eventually though."
"Pika?" Pikachu questioned, Ash wanted to try again.
"Wait, how'd you two fly?" Cassie asked.
"It's been a long day, right now I have to figure out how to get down." Ash said, looking around. "I think if I loosen this strap, then I should be able to…"
'Thud'
'Crack'
'Boom'
'Thud'
Ash's plan did work, loosening the strap did break him free, he fell to the ground, followed by the branch holding his bag, his bag, and then Pikachu all on him.
"Ow." Ash moaned, rubbing his head.
"Are you still okay?" Cassie asked rushing over to him.
"A little less, but I'm still good." Ash said. "Oh yeah, before I forget, I should let Mr. Kazor know I found you."
"Who?" Cassie asked.
"A nice and powerful trainer, I actually met him back in Viridian Forest." Ash said, tapping on his watch. "Kazor, are you there?" Ash asked.
"Ash, good to hear from you, did you find your sister?" Kazor asked.
"Yeah, she's right here with me." Ash said.
"Good, good, I'm sorry but I have to rush out of here, another situation came up with work." Kazor said.
"Not a problem, thanks for your help." Ash said. "I hope to see you again soon."
"If I see you in the area any time soon, I'll contact you, maybe offer some more advice for training." Kazor said.
"Wait, one last thing, do you have any idea how to get to Vermillion from where we are?" Ash asked.
"Are you by the river running through the woods?" Kazor asked.
"Yeah, we're right by it." Ash said.
"Follow it downstream, Vermillion is at sea level, stick to the river and you'll get there in a few days." Kazor said.
"Thanks again." Ash said.
Character of the day: Jigglypuff
Had Ash left on time, this Jigglypuff would have been a recurring nuisance, now a member of his team. And before any of you ask, in the Pokemon Adventure's Manga, Jigglypuff had been used for some air travel by Green, so I fully believe that any Jigglypuff could manage that feat, and with training she could even manage to land.
