Ava found herself in a room, or in a tent, frankly she isn't sure where she is, it could be anything. She walked over to a bed in the corner and sat down, thinking of where she could be. Her paranoid mind suggests, that she got caught or she may even be dead. All of a sudden she hears someone whisper "Lumos." The bright, sudden light source caused her to squeeze her eyes together, fighting with herself as she tries to open her eyes again.
"I don't know whether to be amused about your sudden disappearance or annoyed by your move and escaping me." As Ava finally opens her eyes again, she recognized Scabior not only by his voice but also by his wide smirk across his face. She is so confused by what had happened. She was in Hogsmeade not a while ago and now she is sitting in the Snatchers tent.
"You can try to run as much as you want, I will always find you, sweetheart. I would be stupid if I would just give up like that."
He came closer gripping her cheek and squeezing it together. She tried to push him away, but he was way stronger, it was hopeless. He lets out an almost desperate groan. "This beautiful, young piece of flesh just screams for me. It wants to be claimed, no?" Even though it sounded like a question, she knew she wasn't supposed to answer. She moved her head around in disgust, kicking him with her feet in attempt for him to finally let go of her. But it was useless as he pinned her down beneath him, holding her wrists over her head forcefully. He comes closer to her face with his, he sticks out his tongue and licks from her cheek to her neck. She whimpers, still trying to fight, but it seemed to just turn him on more. She shrieks in disgust: "Sick Bastard! Don't you touch me!" She suddenly felt very sick, her vision blurring as the world spun. She closed her eyes in a desperate attempt to regain her senses.
"Miss Brooks? Are you awake?"
Her eyes snapped open and she was immideatly blinded by light, causing her to snap them shut again. Ava slowly opens them and turns around trying to figure out where she is, but with her vision just blurry, it doesn't help much. "W-what happened?", is everything she gets out of her dry and sore throat.
"You passed out, the Slytherin Prefect found you and brought you here. How do you feel?"
Slowly Ava's surroundings get clearer and she notices that she is in the hospital wing and the woman speaking to her is Madame Pomfrey.
"Horrible, I had a dream...it felt so real, way too real."
Pomfrey wrinkles her forehead, looking at Ava concerned.
"Sometimes dreams aren't just dreams."
Before Ava could ask what she meant, Professor Dumbledore, McGonnagall and Snape walked through the door. Dumbledore rushes directly over to Ava, grabbing the bedpost. He doesn't seem concerned, though he looked rather annoyed.
"What were you thinking? Disappearing for a week! The ministry gave me the responsibility for your behavior!"
Ava rises one brow, smirking at the Headmaster right in front of her.
"I was looking for something." Professor Snape let out a frustrated groan. "And what was a student with a past like yours doing for a week?"
"Professor Snape i am truly horrified that you would accuse me of doing anything bad! I have feelings too and this is hurting me!", spats Ava ironically.
Dumbledore ignores the two, his only interest being his own questions: "So? What were you doing then?"
"As I said, I was looking for something", she raises her hand, presentating the ring on her finger which resembles a snake. "It's my great-grandmothers and when I heard about it I just knew I had to go and get it."
Dumbledore turns around to his colleagues and looks at them, they seemingly didn't expect thatanswer.
"Well I think.. I mean you still had to attend classes, which you just decided to skip, which will have consequences", states McGonnagall. The other teachers nod in approval.
"I will call you to my office once I have decided what to do with you." Ava just ignores her and lays her head down, still exhausted and still in need of some more rest. As soon as she laid down to rest, Dumbledore coughed. "This talk is not over yet. You left the school unannounced for a week, got all of us worried, got the ministry to send us letters. And all of that for a simple ring?", he asked. Ava looked away. Then she looks back at him and says: "You, out of all people, should know that I would do everything to find out more about my family. Well, only my fathers side of the family. This is the first lead I found in a decade." Dumbledore was floored. He didnt expect that honesty. "Now, could you please leave me alone? I want to get some rest." She closes her eyes, waiting until her teachers leave the room. She tries her best to stay awake, not wanting to dream again after what Pomfrey said. But after half an hour, she falls asleep, dreamless. Ava wakes up with no sunlight shining through the window. She sat up, feeling way better than she did before. She notices a pile of clothing on a small desk beside her bed. She changes into her Slytherin uniform, letting a few buttons of her shirt open and tying her tie loosely. She is incredibly hungry and could devour a whole horse, as it feels like she hasn't eaten in weeks, so she hurrys up to the great hall. She is suprised to find a hall full of eating students as she opens the door. She rushes over to take a seat at the Slytherin table and quickly starts filling her plate. She starts eating immideatly and looks over to Dumbledore, who stood up and held his wand against his neck.
"Now that everyone is here, I want to hold a little speech." Ava doesn't pay attention as she is focused on her food. The last thing she clearly hears is: "Now I want to wish you all a merry Christmas, as i won't be here the next few days to tell you." Ava smiles into Dumbledores direction and finishes her food quickly as she sees some students leaving. The last bite tasted so good, she almost stayed to eat more, but she decided to go now anyways. Ava stands up, leaves the hall, ignoring everyone else. She doesn't pay attention to anyone, even after walking through the long corridor full of jostling students. As the hallway gets clearer, she bumped into three students, causing Hermione to drop her books.
"Not you again, you people can't leave me alone, can you?", Ava said through gritted teeth. Ron helps Hermione collecting her books, then he stands up, looking at her with a nasty glare and mumbling: "Don't you want to disappear again? It was so peaceful without you." Ava just laughs. "Gladly. And while I am gone, you could grow some balls and ask our little bookworm out, how does that sound?" Hermione glares at her judgingly. "Shut up! Just leave us alone or I swear I'll finally cure you!"
"Oh my you are so scary it's making my knees shake, sweety. Better save that temperament, it is surely needed in other situations." Ava winks at the trio and walks past them, without waiting for an answer. She walks into her room and sits down on a chair in front of her desk. She pulls out an old, dusty book. It's her mothers dairy, which she stole to find something about her father. She flips it open, starts reading and getting lost in it. A few hours later she sits down for her first class, history of magic. As the teacher walks through the door, he says: "Todays lecture will be about..." he paused, to place his books down and then continued while looking at the students "the Brooks family."
