"Ash, I think I'm seeing things." Cassie said. The walk to Celadon had been a lot longer than either of them had thought it would be.
"Here, have some water." Ash said.
"No, your watch, there's a man on it." Cassie said.
"Wait what?!" Ash said, spastically lifting his arm up. "Kazor?"
"Hey Ash, it's been a while." Kazor said. "Look, I saw you were in the area and felt I should give you a heads up, there's been rumors of travelers getting food and supplies stolen by what they believe is a small man, I believe otherwise."
"How can we help?" Ash asked.
"I know there's no point in saying no, so just keep an eye out for anything suspicious, and if you run into trouble, call me." Kazor said.
"Copy that Kazor." Ash said.
"A small man? What would that be if we even see it?" Cassie asked.
"I'm not sure, but if we really want to find them, maybe we should set a trap." Ash offered.
"You want to find it? Wouldn't it be smarter to try and avoid it?" Cassie questioned.
"Where'd anyone get from playing things smart?" Ash asked, already pulling out some food.
'Rustle'
"Uhh Ash…". Cassie said worriedly.
"Cassie, relax if anything happens Pikachu is right here, besides think of how impressed Kazor will be if I manage to catch it all by myself." Ash said.
'Rustle rustle'
"Ash I really think you should…". Cassie said looking from the bushes to Ash and back.
"PRIMEAPE!"
A Primeape leapt out of the bushes scooping up the food Ash had set as a trap before rushing off into the rocky landscape once again.
"STAY WITH PIKACHU!" Ash exclaimed, as he held on for dear life.
"Ash!" Cassie shouted, but it was too late, the Primeape was long gone, with Ash on top of it.
"Kazor do you copy?!" Ash shouted, trying to not lose his grip.
"Ash? What happened, you're going incredibly fast, did you find the Pokémon?" Kazor asked.
"Yeah I'm right on top of him." Ash grunted.
"Great work, I'm headed to your location now." Kazor said.
As Ash retightened his grip, the Primeape now realized he had a stowaway and began to thrash about, trying to shake Ash loose.
"Ahh! Jigglypuff use Sing!" Ash said, swiping the Pokeball.
"Jiggly?" Jigglypuff said confused as it popped out before seeing the Primeape.
"Jig a lee eee puff jig a lee eee eee puff." Jigglypuff began to sing as the Primeape started to calm down.
In a sudden burst of energy, Primeape grabbed Ash and threw him into the sand.
"Hey Kazor." Ash said, seeing the Charizard legs above him.
"You know when you said you were on him, I didn't think you meant literally." Kazor said, helping Ash up. "So what do you know right now?"
"Sleep didn't seem to last long, also it's fast and angry." Ash said.
"Copy that, ready?" Kazor asked.
"Yeah." Ash responded. "Jigglypuff use Disable!"
"Porygon use Tri Attack!"
Primeape began to spasm as he tried to escape Jigglypuff's attack, only for him to break free and be surrounded by Porygon's Tri Attack.
"Oddish help out with Acid!"
"Pikachu use Double Edge!"
Being attacked from all four sides, the Primeape charged forward towards Ash and Kazor only to be swatted back by Charizard.
"That's incredible, you didn't even issue a command!" Ash exclaimed in awe.
"You aren't the only one who's been training since we last met." Kazor said. "Charizard is now completely under my control. As for this one."
Ash looked at the Primeape who appeared far weaker after having been hit by Charizard.
"Go on, it's your job to take care of him after all." Ash said. As much as he wanted to impress Kazor, stealing the win wasn't the way to do it.
"Alright then, Ultra Ball, go!" Kazor said, tossing out an Ultra Ball.
"Is everything alright? You seem down Ash." Kazor said, retrieving Primeape's balls
"I just was hoping to be able to handle this one without you, prove I'm the trainer you think I am." Ash said.
"Ash you stood ground against a Charizard with nothing but an Oddish, rode a wild Primeape, and that's only the things I know of, you are all the trainer I believe you to be." Kazor said. "At this rate you may even surpass me one day."
"You think so!" Ash said.
"Keep following your dream, and one day you'll join me and my team as a top ranking member." Kazor assured.
"Thanks Kazor, that means a lot." Ash said.
"Do you need help getting back to your sister?" Kazor asked.
"No, I think we'll be good." Ash said. "You should get Primeape wherever you took that Charizard."
"Don't worry, he's in good hands." Kazor said. "Wait, here as payment, it's not much but we had some and I thought you could use them."
"What are they?" Ash asked.
"Training discs for some moves. Use them wisely." Kazor said.
"Thanks again Mr. Kazor." Ash said.
A while later Ash had finally found his way back to the road, seeing Cassie and Pikachu waiting by his bag in the shade.
"Ash, how'd it go?" Cassie asked.
"It went well, I worked with Mr. Kazor again and we were able to catch that Primeape." Ash said. "He even paid me, well sort of paid, it's not money."
"What are they?" Cassie asked looking at the three discs Ash was holding.
"He said they were for training, but I'm not sure how to use them." Ash admitted. "Well for now we should keep going, Celadon isn't getting any closer by us waiting here."
"Sounds good Ash, let's go." Cassie said.
Character of the day: Primeape
Even without Ash's interference, the Wild Mankey outside of Celadon still evolved into Primeape but without Ash or Anthony, it was left to terrorize the road and any who pass by. Been a while since I've done one of these.
