It was late at night when the train lurched to a stop.
"I'm up!" Ash said, taking a fighting stance.
"Calm down, I think the train just stopped." Cassie said.
"But why?" Ash asked. "We're nowhere near Lavender Town."
"I don't know Ash." Cassie groaned. "Go find out if you're so curious."
"I think I will." Ash said, as he Pikachu left the car.
"Have fun, don't die!" Cassie added.
It didn't take long for Ash to find a group of disgruntled passengers.
"What's going on?" Ash asked one of them.
"Apparently something is blocking the tracks up ahead, we can't go until it's cleared up." One passenger said.
"Alright folks, sounds like it will take until morning to get that Snorlax off of the tracks." A train worker said.
A series of arguments and groans were muttered from the crowd.
"Wait, if we're not moving, I might be able to take care of it earlier." Ash offered.
"No offense kid, but I doubt you've faced anything like a Snorlax." One of the adults said.
"What about another Snorlax?" Ash said.
"You've caught a Snorlax already?" Another adult said.
"Well no." Ash admitted.
"You've at least beaten one right?" Madame Cofore said.
"Also no." Ash admitted. "But I learned a lot from that fight."
"Well we're definitely stuck until morning." Madame Cofore said.
"If the kid thinks he can move the Snorlax, what's the harm?" The train employee said.
"Just point me in the direction." Ash said.
A bit later Ponyta's hooves we're splashing on the ground as she quickly passed the train by, heading towards the Snorlax on the tracks. Soon Ash had nothing but the flames from Ponyta's mane and the moon above him as a source of light guiding them along the tracks.
"Okay, remember from last time, I have to keep moving at a distance to take out a Snorlax." Ash said, as the large Pokemon came up in the distance
"Alright Pikachu, get its attention with Thunderbolt!" Ash said, with Gloom now in front of him on Ponyta, with Pikachu on his head.
The bolt of electricity did nothing to wake the sleeping Behemoth.
"Let's kick it up a notch. Pikachu use Thunder!"
A storm brewed above Snorlax, sending blasts of electricity raining down on it, still not reacting.
"Okay, let's add some more power. Ponyta add in your Ember attack, Gloom add Acid!" Ash commanded.
The three attacks launched at Snorlax still did nothing to wake the beast up from his slumber.
"I can't do more without risking him catching up to me." Ash said. "But I have to at least try. Dratini come on out."
Ash lined up his four distance attackers, preparing for a mad rush. "Pikachu use Thunder! Gloom use Acid! Ponyta use Ember! Dratini use Hyper Beam!" Ash called out. As the smoke from the four attacks cleared Snorlax stood up, an angry look in his eyes. "Okay, I woke him up, now I gotta run. "Everyone return!" Ash said, recalling all but Pikachu as the two began to run.
"Okay, he's off the tracks, but now we need a new plan to stop him from chasing us back to the train." Ash said.
"Pi?" Pikachu said, climbing down Ash's jacket.
"Jigglypuff, what can she? Oh right!" Ash realized.
Ash ran up a hill, giving himself enough room for the new plan.
"Alright Jigglypuff, come on out!" Ash said, watching the Snorlax climb its way up.
"Jigglypuff I need you to use sing on full blast." Ash said covering his ears.
"Jiggly." Jigglypuff said, turning towards the edge to see the approaching Snorlax. "Jig!" Jigglypuff was filled with an intense rage, seeing another one of the Pokemon that had destroyed her beloved microphone.
"Jigglypuff! No!" Ash shouted as she leapt off the edge. Moments later, a loud thud was heard. Quickly followed by Jigglypuff's melodious song. Ash looked down to see Jigglypuff standing victorious on top of a sleeping Snorlax.
"What even was that?" Ash said in curiosity, pulling out his Pokedex. "Jigglypuff, how long have you known Body Slam?!" Ash said in astonishment.
With Jigglypuff returned to her Pokeball, Ash and Pikachu got back onto Ponyta and raced towards the tracks.
"Okay Pikachu, any idea which way the train is? Ash asked, looking both ways.
"Pi. Ka." Pikachu said defeated, having become lost as well, their tracks from earlier, along with an imprint from Snorlax were nowhere to be found.
"Lets go, this way." Ash said, leading Ponyta in a direction.
Several hours later on the train
"Sir, what about the boy that left earlier?" A worker asked the conductor.
"We got word that the Snorlax was moved last night, he must have continued on foot." The conductor said. "We can't wait for him to return if he chooses to."
"Of course sir." The employee said.
Back with Ash
"Okay, it's official we went the wrong way, again." Ash said.
'TWEEE!"
"Oh no." Ash said, seeing the train coming quickly. "Ponyta get a running start heading that way!" Ash exclaimed pointing in the opposite direction of the train.
Even at her top speed, the train was quickly passing by Ponyta on the tracks.
"One shot at this." Ash said, before leaping onto the back of the train. "Let's just hope this is our train." Ash said, recalling the exhausted Ponyta to her Pokeball.
"By heavens, how dare you enter this cart from outside." Madame Cofore exclaimed.
"Yeah, this is our train." Ash said, walking past the mad woman.
