"Okay Ash, the cut doesn't look too bad, but keep fresh wrappings on it for a few weeks and take one of these each day." The Nurse Joy said. "As for your Seel, he seems to have made a full recovery. May I ask what you two were doing that caused such injuries?"
"We got into trouble with Team Rocket." Ash admitted.
"Oh my!" Nurse Joy said. "I've heard of them attacking trainers, but never physically harming them."
"It was probably just an accident, those battles can get tough." Ash said, thinking back to that strange woman. Twice now she's let him walk, why was he so special? And what was that aura thing she was talking about.
Later outside the Pokemon Center
"Why didn't you tell Nurse Joy what really happened?" Cassie asked.
"What, that a mad woman tried to kill me, spouted some nonsense and then decided to let me live while a three story tall robot kidnapped Zapdos?" Ash said. "Who would believe that?"
"I mean, I guess, but what can you even do?" Cassie asked.
"Kazor, he works for a group that protects civilians from dangerous Pokemon and then trains and reforms them, if we can find him, maybe we can get their help." Ash said. "Which would be easier if this still worked." Ash said, holding up the blood covered and sliced in half watch.
"Ouch." Cassie commented.
"Yeah, I think I'm going to have to do this the hard way." Ash said.
"And what's that?" Cassie asked.
"Go looking for trouble." Ash sighed. "But first, my promise to Seel, we need to get to the Seafoam Islands."
"Well, I looked at a map while you were getting checked up, and we can reach their through Fuschia City." Cassie said.
"Okay, we head through Saffron and Celadon and then make a straight shot to Fuschia, easy peasey." Ash said with too much confidence.
"Easy Peasey." A voice mimicked.
"Who said that?" Ash yelled out.
"Who said that?" The voice called back.
"I'm warning you." Ash said.
"I'm warning you." The voice said.
"Pikachu use Thunder Wave!" Ash commanded, pointing in the direction of the voice.
"Pikachu use Thunder Waveeeeeee!" The voice cried out from being shocked. "Hey what did you do that for?" A teenage girl said angrily.
"You were copying me!" Ash said.
"Well duh! That's my thing." The girl said pointedly.
"What?" Ash said confused.
"Wait, you really don't know? The Mimic Girl of Saffron? It was all over the news." The girl said.
"We're in Lavender Town." Ash said, still confused.
"I'm traveling, doing shows, side tricks and the like." The Mimic Girl said. "I can copy anyone's voice and say what they just said."
"Wait, like the move Mimic?" Ash asked.
"Wait like the move Mimic?" The mimic girl copied. "I mean more or less like it, why?"
"First stop mimicking me for a minute. Secondly, we fought a dangerous trainer who used Mimic to recreate our Thunderbolt, but a lot stronger." Ash said.
"Mimic can't make things stronger, just recreates it, the power depends on the user, just like any move." The Mimic Girl said.
"Well, do you think you could teach it?" Ash asked.
"I'm not much of a trainer." The Mimic Girl said.
"You don't need to be, if you can teach Pikachu the basics, I can provide the other attacks." Ash said.
"I can try, but Imake no promises." The Mimic Girl said.
"Alright, everyone come on out!" Ash said tossing out the Pokeballs.
"Gloom Gloom!"
"Jiggly!"
"Nyyyyy!"
"Dra Tini!"
"Seel?"
"Oh sorry Seel." Ash said. "Actually, would you like to help out?"
"Seel Seel!"
"Okay, let's see what you know." Ash said pulling out his Pokédex. "Oh, this is gonna be fun."
"Okay Pikachu, the key to mimicking is watching how they perform the attack, and then copying their energy." The Mimic Girl said. "So whose up first?"
"We'll start easy with Jigglypuff." Ash said, placing two barrels down. "Okay Jigglypuff use Pound!"
Jigglypuff charged forward, slapping the barrel with her hand.
"Okay Pikachu, you've got this, focus on how Jigglypuff attacked, and recreate it." The Mimic Girl said.
Pikachu sped forward, slapping his tail across the barrel, leaving a similar sound.
"Okay let's try something a bit harder. Gloom use Acid!"
"Alright Pikachu, you've got this."
A purple splash of acid hit the barrel, causing it to start leaking. Meanwhile, a splash or yellow energy was thrown off of Pikachu's tail, creating a larger leak in the barrel.
"Let's speed this up, Seel use Headbutt!"
"Pikachu you've got this!"
Seel and Pikachu charged forward breaking through the barrels as water splashed all over them.
"Ponyta use Ember!"
"Pikachu keep your focus!"
Ponyta shot out a spray of flames, evaporating the water spilled from one barrel, while Pikachu was unable to recreate the same attack.
"What happened, we were doing so good?" Ash asked, petting Pikachu's head.
"Sometimes you can't mimic everything at once, even copying things has its limits. I think when you began speeding it up, Pikachu couldn't keep up with mimicking." The Mimic girl said.
"Well, he's still impressed me by copying the others' attacks, next time we see that woman, we can play her games." Ash said confidently.
