"So do we have a plan on how to get to the Seafoam Islands, or are we just hoping a bridge will appear." Cassie said sarcastically.
"I thought I'd have a few more days to get to this point." Ash admitted. "I still have no idea how we're going to get to the Seafoam Islands."
"Did I hear yarself correctly?" A scratchy voice said. "Ya want ta go ta Seafoam aye."
"Uhh, yes or aye." Ash said, looking at the pirate in front of him.
"Well than ye best be ready for what's out there." The Pirate said.
"Well what do I need?" Ash said.
"A boat." The Pirate said.
"Well then, not sure what else I was expecting." Ash admitted. "Can I borrow yours?"
"Yarharhar!" The Pirate laughed. "No, but I'd be willing to give ye a ride if you can find something for me."
"Sure, what are ye looking for?" Ash said trying to imitate the Pirate.
"Don't, don't do that." The Pirate said. "That just ain't right."
"Sorry." Ash apologized.
"I need me lucky charm, and some medicine for me first mate." The Pirate said. "Get me those and I'll be happy to give ye passage."
"So what's your lucky charm look like?" Ash asked.
"Well she be majestic, a thing of the sky." The Pirate said.
"So it's a living thing?" Ash asked.
"Aye." The Pirate said. "She went out hunting and hasn't come back."
"So just find her and bring her back?" Ash double checked.
"She'll come back on her own, I'm worried she may have gotten into some trouble." The Pirate said. "I'd go and check on her meself, but I can't leave me first mate alone."
"No problem, I'll go looking for her." Ash said.
"We don't even know what she looks like though." Cassie said.
"I know, but I couldn't take much more Pirate talk." Ash said. "Besides, I have an idea on where she might be."
Elsewhere
"Alright Doduo use Fury Attack!" A bird catcher commanded.
Six Doduo charged at a Pidgeot, keeping it from flying away.
"It's not often I see something like a Pidgeot in the wild. You'll make a marvelous addition to my team." The trainer said.
"Hey! Hold it!" Ash shouted, running down the hill.
"Go find your own Pidgeot!" The trainer warned.
"I don't think that Pidgeot is as wild as it seems." Ash said cautiously. "It might not have a trainer, but I think it has a partner."
"If it doesn't have a trainer then it's fair game." The bird catcher said.
"Normally I'd agree with you, but this time I can't allow that." Ash said.
"You're going to stop me? Good luck with that. Doduo use Peck!"
"Pikachu use Thunder!"
Electricity shot forward frightening the Doduo as they scrambled for a few moments.
"Now, while he's dealing with them, Pokeball, go." The bird catcher said.
"Seel." Seel said, bobbing the Pokeball on his nose.
"You were going for Jigglypuff weren't you." Cassie commented.
"When you can pay attention to two seperate fights at once let me know." Ash countered. "Seel, keep Pidgeot safe until she takes flight. Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu sped between the Doduo keeping them distracted and bonking their heads together trying to see him.
"Sometimes two heads aren't better than one." Ash joked.
"Gah! Try these!" The bird catcher said, tossing Pokeball after Pokeball at Seel who began to simply juggle them on his nose with a clap of his flippers.
"Seel. Seel." Seel said proudly.
"Pidgeooo!" The Pidgeot screeched, taking flight.
"No! It's getting away!" The bird catcher cried angrily.
The Pidgeot stayed in the air, a safe distance away, as it's wings began to glow.
"Pikachu mimic that attack!" Ash said.
Pikachu began to glow just like Pidgeot before both released an energy version of themselves at the six Doduo, sending the six birds knocked backwards.
With it's foes knocked off of their feet, the Pidgeot took off into the skies.
"Sorry, but I really needed that Pidgeot back with her partner!" Ash said, following the bird.
"We still don't know if that was the Pirate's." Cassie pointed out.
"Did you have a better idea?" Ash asked.
"No, but we may have made an enemy today." Cassie pointed out.
"Because all of Team Rocket hating me isn't enough?" Ash commented.
Back at the beach
"Welcome back girl, did you have a good hunt?" The Pirate asked, striking Pidgeot's feathers.
"I knew she was yours!" Ash exclaimed running up.
"Ahh, she belongs to no one, just like the open waters, but we do share a special connection." The pirate said. "Onto the other problem."
"So I looked into that while in town, and I got a few remedies for common sea illnesses." Ash said opening his bag.
"It's not one of those kinds of illnesses." The Pirate sighed. "We were attacked, and I don't have what it takes to move him without doing more harm."
"Let me see what we're looking at." Ash offered.
The Pirate led Ash onto his boat to show a Rhydon lying down on a cot.
"What happened to it?" Cassie asked.
"Poor lad, we ran into trouble on our way into port." The Pirate said. "Even at a disadvantage he held out strong, but the poison from them Tentacruel are taking effect. I can't move the brute without risking it spreading, and I can't bring myself to leave his side."
"If it's poison, I have the medicine for that." Ash said.
"Hey! I followed you here! It's payback for making me lose that Pidgeot!" The bird catcher called out angrily.
"Here's the medicine, I'll take care of that guy." Ash said. "Let's go Pikachu."
Stepping outside Ash saw that the Doduo had recovered nicely.
"Okay, let's finish them. Pikachu use Thunder!"
"Doduo shift!"
The Doduo's twisted their legs and stuck both heads into the sand, causing Pikachu's Thunder to do nothing.
"Okay, new plan. Dratini, lock and load." Ash said, picking up the small purple dragon. "Use Hyper Beam!"
The hyper beam's backfire sent the boat rocking, the attack missing greatly.
"Hey! Watch what ye're doing out there!" The Pirate barked.
"Sorry!" Ash commented. "Well if that didn't work, let's try a direct approach. Ponyta come on out! Use Agility!"
Ponyta began galloping up and down the beach between the Doduo's, keeping them on their toes.
"Ponyta use Ember!"
Ponyta kept her speed up, running laps around the multiple Doduo, sending bursts of flames out, some of them she was even keeping up with.
"Doduo use Drill Peck!"
"Ponyta use Agility!"
The Doduo launched at Ponyta as she zoomed across the beach increasing her speed more and more.
"Ponyta use Ember!"
More flames shot from Ponyta, as the ones she was keeping up with began to circle her.
"Doduo use your Agility!"
The Doduo quickly appeared in a wall in front of Ponyta, the swirling flames launching forward and encircling each of the Doduo.
"Whoa, new move." Cassie said, seeing the flames keeping each of the Doduo from moving towards them.
"Alright Pikachu, now that they're stuck, use Thunder!" Ash called out.
"Rhydon use Surf!"
Rhydon leapt out of the boat, creating a hole in the sand as it charged forward with a wave crashing behind it, flooding the beach.
"I'll never forget this!" The bird catcher shouted angrily, as he returned his Pokemon.
"Well kid, are you coming or not?" The Pirate said.
"Yeah, I'm coming, hold on." Ash said, as he Pikachu and Ponyta got back on the boat.
