"Ahh, that was refreshing." Ash said, stretching and waking up. "Wait, where am I?" Ash asked, seeing a small town. "Wait, I'm back in Pallet Town?!"
Ash looked around, and he was right. He was in the outskirts of Pallet Town.
"Wait, what happened, there was that woman, and we were fighting her Gengar, and then…" Ash trailed off.
"Seel?" Seel asked, nudging his head on Ash's leg.
"Seel! You're here too!" Ash said. "Come on, let's go to Professor Oak's lab, he should be able to help."
Ash led Seel through the roads and paths heading towards the lab.
"Come on Seel, lets go say hi to the Professor." Ash said, opening the door, only to be sucked in. "This isn't Professor Oak's lab. This is… Seafoam Islands' caves?"
"Seel!" Seel exclaimed, leaping into the waters.
"What's going on?" Ash asked.
"Kid, welcome to the zone of dreams." Revan's voice said.
"Revan!" Ash shouted.
"Relax kid, I haven't done anything, this time." Revan said smugly walking out of the shadows.
"But you're dead, I saw it happen!" Ash exclaimed.
"Yeah, that sucked." Revan said. "But its better than what she did to you."
"Wait, if you're dead, does that mean I'm dead?" Ash asked.
"Learn to listen, you're in the zone of DREAMS!" Revan exclaimed. "You aren't dead, but you'll soon wish you were."
"Wait, then how are you here?" Ash asked.
"No clue, for once I'm as confused as you are." Revan said. "Anyways you're trapped here, so might as well find somewhere comfortable." Revan said, as he floated around Ash.
"You said this is a dream, so all I have to do is wake up!" Ash said with confidence. "I'm not trapped, I'm just having a weird dream!"
"Wrongamundo. You aren't dreaming, not really. If I understand everything correctly, your body is asleep, but your soul is trapped in another place entirely. You'll never wake up. Period." Revan chuckled. "That Xia, she's good at keeping things under wraps."
"So if my soul is in another place than my body, where is it?" Ash asked.
"Your body is wherever you were battling Xia." Revan sighed.
"So, I'm my soul?" Ash asked.
"Ding ding ding! We have a winner." Revan said, very sarcastically.
"There has to be a way out of here! Seel, let's go!" Ash said.
"It's pointless." Revan called out after Ash and Seel.
Ash ran back through the entrance he had come through, now back in Pallet Town.
"Okay, there has to be a way out of here, let's try some other doors." Ash said.
"Seel!" Seel cried out, following Ash.
"I've got it! Home!" Ash exclaimed, rushing for his front door.
Seel entered the door following behind Ash, to hear a soft beeping. This area was very white, and his trainer was looking through an open door.
"Seel?" Seel asked, looking at his trainer.
"The exit is not here, we need to go." Ash said, as the beeping stopped.
"Seel." Seel said, looking into the doorway before following Ash out of the door.
"Any luck on finding a way out." Revan taunted, floating by.
"Why won't you just leave me alone?" Ash asked.
"Personally, I just enjoying bugging you." Revan commented.
"Let's try Gary's house." Ash said, running through that door. "Where are we?" Ash said, hearing the crashing waters.
"Isn't it obvious kid, it's where you first stopped me, got me arrested, eventually leading to my death." Revan said, finally walking. "I was on top, had a team in the hundreds, even my own boat, but you just had to meddle in my business."
"Seel use Headbutt!" Ash exclaimed.
Seel leapt at Revan only to phase right through him.
"I'm dead, remember." Revan said. "You can't kill a ghost."
"I wasn't aiming for you." Ash said, running through Revan's form. "That felt weird." Ash said, as he went through another door.
"Okay, now where is this?" Ash asked, looking around.
"Seel." Seel said curiously.
They were now in a field full of stones lined up together.
"No, this isn't real." Ash said. "We need to go back."
Ash turned around to see no door, nothing.
"You'll never get out of here." Ash echoed what Revan had said, leaning against a wall in defeat.
"Seel?" Seel asked.
"Sorry, but I think Revan was right." Ash said.
"Seel?" Seel asked, looking behind Ash.
"What is it?" Ash asked, looking behind him. "There's nothing there…" Ash realized. "I thought there was a wall there." Ash said, putting his hands against the wall again. "Seel use Ice Beam."
"Seel?" Seel asked in confusion.
"Yeah, right here, if this place really is made of dreams, then I'll make something for you to hit." Ash said.
"Seel." Seel said in understanding, firing off an Ice Beam.
"Now use Headbutt!" Ash said pointing at the frozen block.
Seel launched himself into the block, creating a strange opening.
"Let's go Seel." Ash said.
"Well who knew, the kid figured a way out." Revan smirked. "The others have their work cut out for themselves."
Back in reality
"We're awake!" Ash exclaimed. "It's daytime? Articuno!" Ash shouted, running to see its cave empty. "I hope you made it out okay."
Seel nuzzled up to Ash's leg affectionately.
"We should get back to the others, they should be getting up soon, and will be getting worried." Ash said.
"Seel!" Seel said excitedly following Ash.
