"Ahhhh!" Ash was still screaming.

"Ash, calm down, we're safe." Kazor said.

"We… are?" Ash asked.

"Yes, now come on. I think it's time you meet the others of my team." Kazor said getting into a van.

"Where are we Kazor?" Ash asked, as he and Cassie got in the back.

"A tunnel system going through most of Kanto, it allows us to work unhindered." Kazor said. "On top of it being a safe way to take care of dangerous Pokemon or defense projects."

"Wow, I had no idea what you did was so thorough." Ash said.

"Don't worry, and I think once you see what we're working on, you'll finally join us." Kazor said. "We are paving the way to a stronger tomorrow, a safer tomorrow, a tomorrow where we don't have to live in fear of other regions attacking us."

"Wait what?" Ash asked. "I've met with a gym leader from another region, and even spoken with trainers who've traveled to Jhoto, I don't think they're going to attack us."

"Maybe not today, maybe not the trainers, but maybe the Pokemon. Are you aware they have a deity of time, a race of Pokémon that can warp reality itself, and even one who can revive dead Pokémon." Kazor said with an angry tone. "They are right next door, if they choose to attack we are defenseless. So we are preparing for devastation before it can happen."

"What you're talking about is attacking someone who has done nothing wrong!" Ash exclaimed.

"We won't attack unless necessary, trust me, I'm in charge here until our boss returns." Kazor said.

"Who is your team?" Ash demanded.

"Ash, welcome to Team Rocket." Kazor said, turning around a corner to show a large bay, holding many large machines and hundreds of Team Rocket grunts.

"Ash…". Cassie said worriedly.

"Oh No." Ash gasped.

"Come along now, there's someone you should meet, our chief scientist." Kazor said, opening the door for Ash.

"Just stay calm." Ash said quietly, before stepping out and following Kazor. No one was attacking him just yet, for now he was safe…ish.

"Xia, what's our update on capturing Articuno?" Kazor asked, walking up to a series of monitors.

"If I didn't need to remove Revan things would be going much better." Xia said with an annoyed tone. "I don't do field work."

"Not to worry, a trainer I've been mentoring is here with us, he's been traveling the region, he could be of assistance." Kazor said, patting Ash on the back.

"You may be in charge, but you can't make every decision without consulting me." Xia said.

"Like you killing Revan?" Kazor questioned.

"It was necessary to avoid him being interrogated." Xia barked, turning around. "You!"

"Me." Ash gulped.

"Kazor! This is the child! The one that has prevented our work, the defeater of Revan, the reason Articuno has gotten away three times!" Xia shouted.

"Ash, is this true?" Kazor asked, looking down at Ash.

Ash meekly nodded, afraid of what would come next.

"I blame myself, I put ideas of doing great things in his head without explaining our motives." Kazor said. "Ash do you know why we're gathering the legendary birds?"

"To control them?!" Ash said getting angry again.

"Far from it, we believe that they used to be one powerful being, and a legendary from Jhoto split them apart out of fear. I told you we are trying to do the best for Kanto." Kazor said.

"By attacking and stealing?!" Ash argued.

"Ash, understand our means justify the ends." Kazor said. "With your help, we could reunite Articuno with the others. You'd be a hero."

"No, I can't be a hero if I help you." Ash said angrily, grabbing the first two things he could find. "Stand back I'm warning you!"

"Ash, think this through, you won't make it like this." Kazor tried reasoning.

Ash looked down in his hand to see a pipe he had grabbed, slipping the other item into his bag for the time being.

"I'd rather lose down here, then join you now that I know who you really are!" Ash shouted, swinging the pipe at Kazor. "Run!"

Ash, Cassie and Pikachu began sprinting through the crowds of grunts, with Ash smashing anything in site.

"Ash up ahead, I think that might be Moltres!" Cassie said, seeing a large tube with something floating in it.

"Someone stop him! He's nearing the specimen!" Xia ordered.

"Aerodactyl get him!" Kazor shouted, sending out a Pokeball.

"You're free!" Ash shouted, slamming the pipe into the tube. A blast of water rushing out. Inside was not Moltres but a strange purple creature.

"The specimen has escaped!" A grunt exclaimed in terror.

The creature turned its head, stopping Aerodactyl in place before launching it backwards, then blasting a hole in the ceiling and flying out.

"Wait for! Nevermind. Rapidash let's go!" Ash exclaimed, grabbing Cassie and Pikachu as he hopped on the horse.

"Ash where are we going?" Cassie asked.

"Not sure, somewhere safe." Ash said with a worried tone.

"Where, we're in Team Rocket's base?!" Cassie said worriedly.

"Same way we came in." Ash said, steering Rapidash past another group, and down a hall.

"Ash, I don't think this is the way we went." Cassie said.

"It'll have to do. Pikachu use Thunderbolt on the controls!" Ash said.

The door flew open, allowing them to escape onto an island, a security door closing right behind them.

"Sir, should we go after them?" A rocket grunt asked.

"Let them go, we have what we need." Kazor said. "Restart project TOMORROW we have work to do." Kazor said holding a few black hairs in his hand.
