"So this is New Cinnabar Island Village." Ash said, seeing a few huts constructed, along with what looked like a Pokemon Center. "Come on let's head to the Pokemon Center, see if they know where we can find the gym leader."

"Or at the very least a room to rest." Cassie complained.

"That too, I don't plan on rushing out of here. Mostly because I don't know how." Ash admitted.

"Hey, welcome to the Pokemon Center. Take a seat, I'll be with you in a minute." A man said, going through a cabinet.

"Not the usual warm welcome." Ash commented.

A few minutes later, the man made it over to Ash, he had brown disheveled hair, and his clothes were fairly damaged.

"So what's seems to ail the little guy." The man said, checking over Pikachu.

"Oh, I'm sorry, he's not injured, I was just hoping for directions, maybe a room for the night." Ash said.

"Ahh, my bad. A room I'll have set up, as for directions, where are you looking to go?" The man asked.

"I'm looking to challenge the gym leader." Ash said with gusto.

"He's not here right now." The man said.

"Do you know when he'll be back?" Ash asked.

"Can't say, I've been on call in here for a few days." The man said. "But if you're looking for a battle, my lunch break is in five minutes, meet me out back."

"Can we trust him?" Cassie asked.

"Do you have a better idea right now?" Ash asked.

Out back, a safe distance from the village, a few minutes later

"So what will the rules be?" Ash asked.

"Just send out a Pokémon, I'll let you know." The man said.

"Alright then, Pikachu you're up." Ash said.

"Growlithe come on out." The man said.

"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"

"Growlithe use Take Down!"

Pikachu was quickly pinned by the puppy Pokemon, who seemed fairly angry.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

"Growlithe use Flamethrower!"

Growlithe jumped off of Pikachu, releasing a stream of flames at the electric type and the bolt of electricity.

"Take it up a notch, Pikachu use Thunder!"

"Growlithe use Roar!"

Growlithe released an echoing howl, sending Pikachu running back behind Ash, sending out Vileplume in the process.

"Vileplume?!" Ash exclaimed. "No matter, Vileplume use Toxic!"

"Growlithe use Flamethrower!"

Vileplume launched an orb of poisonous ooze from his flower at Growlithe only to create a giant target for Growlithe to hit with its flames.

"Vileplume!" Ash exclaimed, before seeing the grass type stand back up. "Alright use Petal Dance!"

"Growlithe use Take Down!"

Growlithe leapt through the petals, striking Vileplume and sending both back through the other side. The two Pokémon had collapsed on top of each other, knocked out from the damage.

"Growlithe return, come out Kangaskhan!"

"Vileplume return." Ash paused thinking of who to send out. "You said I can send anyone out?" Ash asked again.

"Go for it, let's see what you've got." The man said.

"Alright, Dratini come on out!"

"Kangaskhan use Fire Blast!"

"Dratini use Dragon Rage!"

An intense blast of fire shot out at Dratini who sneezed, sending out his Dragon Rage as one large wall, absorbing the Fire Blast.

"Kangaskhan use Strength!"

"Dratini use Wrap!"

Kangaskhan charged at Dratini who wrapped himself around Kangaskhan's legs, tripping the large Pokémon up, and dropping it to the ground.

"Kangaskhan use Mega Punch!"

"Dratini use Leer!"

Dratini stared down Kangaskhan as her fist collided with his face, loosening his grip around her feet.

"Kangaskhan use Fire Blast!"

"Dratini use Dragon Rage!"

Dratini accidentally swallowed his Dragon Rage upon seeing the scorching flames shooting towards him, the flames completely engulfing the small dragon and knocking him out.

"Alright Pikachu, you're back in." Ash said with confidence. "Use Thunder!"

"Kangaskhan use Earthquake!"

The ground shook as Pikachu experienced the most powerful attack he'd seen, and on the wrong side of it. Pikachu was unable to gather the necessary electrical energy as he tried to keep balanced, only for Kangaskhan to rush into him.

"Good battle kid." The man said, returning his Kangaskhan.

"Hey I'm not done yet!" Ash argued.

"Doesn't matter, my lunch break is over." The Man said. "Come back to the Pokemon Center, I'll be happy to take care of your Pokémon, and maybe even put in a word with you for the gym leader. That is, if you're up for the challenge."

Later back at the Pokemon Center

"So you said you'd talk to the gym leader, did he say anything?" Ash asked.

"It will be a six on three battle." The man said.

"Six on three?" Ash asked.

"Yes you will have access to an entire team for this battle." The man said. "As for where the battle will be, it is where even the waves run from."

"Where even the waves run from?" Ash asked. "What does that mean?"

"It wouldn't be a challenge if I gave you the answer, now would it." The man said. "And don't worry, Pikachu and the others will be in perfect condition for tomorrow."

"Thanks." Ash said with a smile.

Back at the Team Rocket HQ

"Kazor, take a look, he's all grown." Xia said with pride.

Kazor walked up to the test tube, floating inside was a perfect replica of Ash.

"Welcome to the world my child, you have much work to do." Kazor said with a smirk, as the Ash's eyes blinked.
