"Let's go Alakazam!" The Ash Clone said, throwing a Pokeball out.
"Be careful Ash." Megan said, having remembered her encounter with the clone.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
"Alakazam use Teleport!"
The Alakazam disappeared from Pikachu's path, suddenly appearing behind Gary.
"Now hold on, you're threatening Viridian City, and as it's gym leader it's my job to stop you." Gary said, brandishing a Pokeball. "Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"
"Alakazam dodge it with Teleport." The Ash clone said. "You'll have to be faster to hit him."
"Wasn't aiming for Alakazam." Gary said.
Ash watched making sure Cassie, Gilbert, Megan, and Cody had exited the tent before returning his attention to his clone.
"Alright, Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Blastoise use Skull Bash!"
"Alakazam use Psychic!"
Alakazam psychically redirected Pikachu's attack, blasting it into Blastoise sending the large water type flying in the opposite direction.
"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"
"Alakazam use Teleport!"
"Pikachu use Mimic!"
Jet streams of water sprayed across the arena
as Alakazam and Pikachu disappeared. Moments later Alakazam reappeared followed immediately by Pikachu leaping at him. The two continued playing the game of cat and mouse as Gary and Blastoise took aim.
"Now Blastoise use Ice Beam!"
Blastoise fired a shot into open air, and when Alakazam reappeared he was struck instantly, frozen on the spot.
"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu's Thunderbolt broke the ice, immediately electrocuting Alakazam causing it's body to flail about before going limp.
"Two on one isn't exactly fair, let's even the odds!" The Ash clone said. "Parasect, Tentacruel let's go!"
"Pikachu use Thunder!"
"Blastoise use Ice Beam!"
"Tentacruel use Bubblebeam! Parasect use Spore!"
The two attacks combined releasing a flurry of sleep powder filled bubbles over the arena.
"Run!" Ash exclaimed, as he and Pikachu moved out of the way, Blastoise and Gary weren't as lucky, now fast asleep.
"Now it's just us, the original, and the better version." The Ash Clone said.
"All I'm hearing is me listed twice." Ash said. "Now Pikachu use Thunder!"
"Tentacruel use Wrap! Parasect use Solar Beam!"
In the dark tent, Parasect was having no luck with absorbing light, while electricity was surging through Tentacruel's tentacles.
"Tentacruel use Bubblebeam! Parasect fire!"
"Pikachu use Teleport!"
Pikachu disappeared from Tentacruel's tentacles, causing The Clone Ash's Pokemon's attacks to hit each other.
"Parasect use Slash!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu leapt over and out of the way of Parasect's attack, and back to Ash's side.
"Parasect use Solar Beam!"
"Pikachu hit 'em with a Thunderbolt!"
A bolt of electricity shot out at Parasect only to be absorbed by another Pokemon.
"Trio trio trio." A Dugtrio cried out, The Ash Clone holding another Pokeball.
"So it's going to be like that huh." Ash said with an annoyed tone. "Seel come on out and use Ice Beam!"
Seel slid onto the field, firing an Ice Beam in front of him as he picked up speed, knocking Dugtrio out of the way, and Parasect into the air.
"Dugtrio, Parasect use Slash!"
"Seel use Surf!"
Water seemed to pour in from beneath the tent, as a wave came crashing down from behind Seel and onto the two opponents.
"Great work guys!" Ash said happily, seeing both Dugtrio and Parasect knocked out.
Earlier that day elsewhere
"Where are you going?" Kazor said looking at a monitor.
"Kazor, what seems to be the problem." Xia said respectfully.
"The specimen is on the move, if he were to attack, it would be catastrophic." Kazor said.
"Can you tell where It's headed?" Xia asked.
"It's looking for Giovanni, in the last place anyone saw him." Kazor said, looking at the monitor, a dot flying right towards Viridian City. "Prepare the Next Generation, I'll contain the specimen."
"The clone is already in the area, should I dispatch him." Xia offered.
"Don't bother, if I come across him I'll take care of both issues." Kazor said angrily, not noticing the distraught look on Xia's face.
Back at the tent in the present
"Dratini let's go!" Ash said, giving Pikachu a break, and seeing Seel already backing off from their newest opponent.
"Lickitung use Wrap!"
Lickitung unfurled it's tongue, sliding up Dratini's body.
"Ni!" Dratini said, returning the lick happily.
"What in the? What's wrong with that thing?!" The Ash Clone demanded.
"Nothing, Dratini is fine just as he is!" Ash argued. "Show him, use Dragon Rage!"
Dratini began growing a flame in his mouth readying to fire it.
"Lickitung use Slam!"
Lickitung slammed into Dratini, causing the Dragon Rage to go off, sending both Pokemon flying in opposite directions.
"Ash! We're back!" Megan said, holding out a Pokeball. Behind her were both Cody and Gilbert with their Pokémon at the ready.
"Stay back I've almost got this." Ash said.
'MY CHILD I HAVE FOUND YOU!' A voice echoed as the tent began to lift.
"What in the?" Ash said in shock, seeing the strange creature from the Team Rocket base float down.
'YOU ARE THE ONE WHO FREED ME, AND YET YOU IMPRISON MY CHILD JUST LIKE THEY DID TO ME!' The creature said angrily.
"Anyone want to explain who the purple alien is?" Cody asked.
"Not a clue." Megan commented.
"I recognize you! Project Mewtwo!" The Ash Clone said.
"Mew two?" Ash asked in confusion.
'IT IS THE NAME I WAS GIVEN! YOU ARE LIKE ME, A CREATION NOT MEANT TO BE!' Mewtwo said, looking over at The Ash Clone.
"Oh I'm meant to be, I'm a part of the future." The Ash Clone said. "And it'll start with you obeying me…"
The clones body went limp as it fell to the ground.
'AS FOR YOU, GIVE ME MY CHILD!' Mewtwo exclaimed.
"I don't even know who you're talking about!" Ash said frightened.
"Ni!" Dratini said hopping up to Mewtwo.
"No Dratini, don't do that!" Ash exclaimed.
"Charizard use Flamethrower!"
"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"
"Venusaur use Solar Beam!"
Three elemental beams sent Mewtwo flying into the distance as Megan and Cody rushed to help Ash and Pikachu up.
"Don't think I'm going to get over watching myself die." Ash said, looking at the lifeless clone.
"Come on, this isn't done, we need to stop it somehow." Gilbert said.
"There were old files recovered from the previous gym." Gary said. "It's a clone of Mew, it's a Pokemon, meaning it can be caught." Gary said, as Gilbert helped him up. "What do we have for Pokeballs?"
"Fresh out." Cody said. "The suit doesn't have pockets."
"I never remember to buy enough." Megan admitted.
"I didn't even think I'd still be here." Gilbert defended.
"Ash, what about you?" Gary asked.
"I've got this, I grabbed it when I was fleeing Team Rocket." Ash said, holding up a purple and gold ball.
"I can't believe it, I've heard of these, but never thought for it to be real." Gilbert said in shock. "A Master Ball, capable of capturing any Pokémon."
"So all we need to do is give Ash an opening." Gary said. "After that, it's up to him."
"Wait me?!" Ash said defensively.
"You're the one with the ball." Gary said. "So you have to make the catch."
"Right, right, it's just an unnatural being that's already killed one of me." Ash said. "Okay let's do this."
Mewtwo began zooming back towards the group, rocketing forward.
"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"
"Blastoise use Ice Beam!"
"Charizard use Flamethrower!"
"Venusaur use Solar Beam!
"Pikachu use Thunder!"
Mewtwo created a barrier, blocking each of the attacks from hitting him, before launching all of the energies away.
"Dratini use Hyper Beam!"
Mewtwo created another psychic shield, redirecting the Hyper Beam into the air.
'Stop this now before I need to take further measures!' Mewtwo said angrily, lifting the five trainers and their Pokémon into the air.
"Tch, we weren't trying to stop you." Gary said with a smirk.
"You're pretty good at fighting, but reading minds must have been a second thought for you." Gilbert said. "Ash decided we needed to all be present in order to distract you while she got in close."
"Jiggly!" Ash's Jigglypuff said, divebombing onto Mewtwo from above, slapping him with the Master Ball.
Even with the guarantee of its abilities, every trainer present waited on baited breath to make sure it was caught.
"We did it." Ash said, picking up the Master Ball with a deep sigh. "But now what do I do with it?"
"You should hand it over to its proper owners." Kazor said walking up. "If you know what's best for you."
