"To launch an attack, first you have to go 'Aahh', then comes a 'gussss' and then an 'oohh'. Got it?" said Natsu as he tried to teach Izuku in a mountainous field along with Gajeel, Wendy and the three exceed.
"Huh? N-not quite." said Izuku flustered by the fire dragon slayer's weird explanation.
"He hasn't understood anything at all!" said Charle.
"When it comes to teaching, Natsu isn't the best choice." said Happy.
"What did you say?" asked Natsu angrily as he tugged at his partner exceed's cheeks.
Gajeel let out a frustrated sigh before approaching the green-haired boy.
"Listen, brat. If you want to launch an attack, you must concentrate your magic power on the right spot. For example, in the case of our roar, you concentrate it in your mouth as if you were taking in air and then expel it. Like this." said Gajeel before turning to the side and inhaling air, causing his cheeks to swell. "Iron Dragon's Roar!" shouted Gajeel firing a tornado of metal pieces from his mouth that destroyed part of the area they were in.
"Well, did you get it? But what...?" asked Gajeel turning around, only to be shocked when he saw the green-haired boy start muttering like a madman.
"I see. So, if I concentrate my magic power in my fists, I could make a very powerful attack and since it's different from the One For All it's possible that it won't hurt my bones and muscles, but according to what the master said, we have limited amount of magic power in us, so I should calculate the power level of the attack so I can make another attack afterwards without the problem that..." muttered Izuku, confusing and surprising the dragon slayers.
"Uh... Izuku?" asked Wendy managing to snap the student out of his state.
"Huh? Oh, sorry, it's a little habit I have." said Izuku rubbing the back of his head with a nervous smile.
"I think, between your habit and Gray's, yours is less annoying." muttered Charle.
"I agree." said Happy.
"But I think I got it." said Izuku backing away from them a little. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself. When he opened them, he began to suck in air, puffing out his cheeks as much as he could while concentrating his magic power on the right spot. "Aahh!" shouted Izuku firing a huge blue lightning from his mouth that caused greater destruction than Gajeel's attack, much to the surprise of the dragon slayers.
"Heh. Not bad, brat." said Gajeel with an amused grin.
"Awesome! That was more powerful than Gajeel's attack." said Wendy.
"Well, you have to keep in mind that titans were more powerful than dragons and gods." said Charle.
"Great! With a little more training, you'll manage to master it perfectly." said Natsu.
Izuku gave them a big smile as he nodded.
"Yes. Let's continue." said Izuku.
Katsuki was in a field far away from everyone. The whole place looked like it had been through a war, as there were craters and remnants of smoke screens everywhere. On the side, there was Katsuki breathing heavily due to exhaustion.
"Ha. I knew it was powerful, but I didn't expect it to be so powerful" Katsuki said with a smile before clasping his hands together again, leaving a small space between them. "I just have to concentrate my magic power in the palm of my hands to perform the attack." thought Katsuki.
Suddenly, between his hands small black orbs merged into a black orb so large that it took up the space between hands.
"Like this!" thought Katsuki before getting into a throwing position. "Die!" shouted Katsuki throwing the orb as if it was a baseball and when it hit a rock, there was a huge explosion.
"As impressive as it is, I need to think of new ways to attack. I can't wait to see the rest when I show them my new powers." said Katsuki.
"Are you sure she can help me?" asked Ochaco as he followed Erza somewhere.
"Trust me, she is the most powerful gravity magic user you can find. Not only will she help you manage your magic power better, but she will also help you become stronger." said Erza.
"Well, if you say so. But where exactly are we going?" asked Ochaco.
"To Mermaid Heels." said Erza.
"Mermaid Heels?" asked Ochaco.
"It's one of the many guilds in the kingdom of Fiore. And it's the only one whose members are all women." said Erza.
"And one of those members will help me in my training?" asked Ochaco.
"Well yes, but that will depend on if she is available at the moment." said Erza.
After a bit of walking, they finally arrived at the guild and just as the knight mage said, Ochaco only saw women all over the place.
"Erza!" shouted a voice that caught their attention.
Turning their heads to the side, they saw a girl with cat ears and a cat tail.
"Millianna!" exclaimed Erza happily before the two gave each other a hug. "Long time no see."
"What are you doing here? Come to ask for help with a mission?" asked Millianna.
"Almost, I was coming to ask Kagura for a favor. Do you know if she's here?" asked Erza.
"You're lucky, she just got back from her last mission!" said Millianna.
"Millianna."
Speak of the devil. The three girls turned to the side to see a woman with a bow on her head, a sword, and a very serious face.
"What's going on here?" asked the girl who was most likely Kagura.
"Oh, little sister!" began Erza very cheerfully giving a sudden hug to the newly arrived girl, whose serious face turned red with embarrassment.
"E-Erza? W-What are you doing here?" asked Kagura blushing with embarrassment.
"And who is the girl with you?" asked Millianna pointing her thumb at Ochaco.
"She is Ochaco, a new member of Fairy Tail. She has recently discovered that she possesses gravity magic and wanted to ask you if you could train her." said Erza.
"I see." said Kagura regaining her serious face and approaching Ochaco, who became very nervous due to the mage's hard look. "So you want me to train you, right?"
Ochaco was still nervous at her presence, but she did her best to put her nerves aside and look at her with determination.
"Yes. Please, I would like you to train me so that I can master my magic." said Ochaco.
"If I am your teacher, the training will be very hard. I may even suffer a lot of damage. Are you still willing to continue? Once you start, there will be no turning back." said Kagura testing her.
Ochaco was a little scared at first at the thought of a very hard training, but then, she thought about what Izuku would do. He, despite everything, wouldn't back down, he would do his best to become stronger. She wanted to fight by his side, so she had to get stronger too and if that was the only way, then she would accept it.
"Yes. I don't care what I have to do. I plan to master my power and become stronger." Ochaco said.
Kagura was quiet for a moment. Although she didn't show it, she was impressed by the student's determination.
"Good. Come with me. We'll start training right away." said Kagura turning around to go somewhere else.
"O-Okay." said Ochaco following the mage.
Meanwhile, Erza and Millianna stood to the side watching their two friends walk away.
"Aren't you worried? Kagura is very stern when she trains someone." said Millianna.
"Trust me. Ochaco is stronger than she looks. Not to mention she has her reasons to keep going." said Erza with a knowing smile, something that confused the cat girl.
A blast of blue fire hit several trees, resulting in them ending up frozen.
Responsible for this was Shoto who kept throwing his right arm forward in various directions, all with the same result, his ice side now spewing out blue fire that froze things.
As much as he was relieved that he could freeze things, he didn't like the fact that he was now shooting fire from both sides. Before he only hated his left side, but now he didn't know whether to hate himself completely or not.
After freezing another couple of trees with his flames, Shoto stopped to catch his breath. Gritting his teeth in frustration, he walked over to a tree and started punching it with his own fists.
"Why? Why? Why did it have to be like this? If my power has evolved, why did it have to be this way? Is this some joke of fate?" asked Shoto without stopping punching the tree and with tears showing at the corners of his eyes.
"Shoto?" asked a voice that brought the student out of his state.
Quickly wiping his tears with his arm, he turned around to see the guild's celestial mage.
"Lucy? What are you doing here?" asked Shoto.
"I was just coming to see how you were doing." said Lucy before looking at the frozen trees around. "It looks like you're starting to master your new powers a bit already."
It was then that Lucy noticed the marks on his fists, a symptom that he had been hitting something with great force and anger. She couldn't take it anymore, she had to help him somehow, but she couldn't go into matters he didn't want to tell at the moment, but, knowing the kind of problem he had, she knew how she could help him.
"You don't quite like your powers, do you?" asked Lucy.
"I don't know what you're talking about." said Shoto looking away to the side.
"Listen, I don't know what problems you might have with your father, but you can't let that stop you from moving forward. Believe me, I know." said Lucy.
Hearing that, the student's gaze returned to Lucy, giving her the cue to move forward in the story.
"My father did horrible things when I was a child and after I joined the guild." began Lucy recalling part of her childhood and the incident with Phantom Lord.
"I thought he would never change, but soon after, I learned that my father had lost everything and that he started working in a messenger guild. When we met again, he told me that he regretted what he did and wanted to change. I didn't believe it at first, but finally decided to give him the chance." said Lucy as tears showed at the corners of her eyes.
"However, an event happened that caused me to be away for 7 years. When I came back I found out that my father had died. He died just as we were beginning to reconcile, and I wasn't there to say goodbye." finished Lucy as tears streamed down her face.
Shoto heard the whole story and was shocked by Lucy's relationship with her father.
"I'm sorry." said Shoto.
Lucy wiped her tears with one arm.
"Thank you. What I'm getting at, is that you can't stay mad at your father forever. I'm sure that someday, he'll want to change and when he does, you shouldn't push him away from you, but rather, get closer to him." said Lucy leaving the student in shock.
"Well." said Lucy turning to leave. "I hope you do well with your power. See you!" said Lucy saying goodbye as she left.
Shoto stood there thinking about what the celestial mage had said. All he knew was that he hated his father with a passion and wanted nothing to do with him. He never stopped to think about what would happen if he died, especially now that he was beginning to show remorse and said he would try to make amends for the mistakes he made.
Then he thought about what happened during his confrontation with Izuku. He told him that his power was his and no one else's, that he couldn't be a great hero if he didn't use all his power, which made him use his left side for the first time in a long time.
He looked down at his own hands and stopped to think. That power was no longer either his mother's or his father's. No. It was a power completely different from both of them, it was a power that combined the best of each. A power he could mark as his own.
He had finally made up his mind. He wasn't going to hate his power because it was similar to his father's, he was going to use it to become a much better hero than him. With that decision, he went back to training. This time, to get better.
"Do you know? I had a feeling that someday you would come to me for help." said Jet as he and Tenya stood in a rocky meadow where they would conduct training.
"I'm ready for your training, sir!" said Tenya bowing in respect.
"Okay, first, no sir, just Jet; and second, no need to be so formal, we are members of the same guild." said Jet.
"Understood." said Tenya.
"Good. Now, how much speed did you used to achieve with your previous power?" asked Jet.
"The truth is, I've never calculated it. I usually go at maximum speed, though I make sure to modify it in various situations." said Tenya.
"In that case, we'll go to the basics. Try to go around the area." said Jet.
"Okay." said Tenya positioning herself to run.
When the Fairy Tail mage gave the signal, Tenya took off running at high speed thanks to his new power, but when he reached the turn, he was going so fast that he ended up hitting a rock.
Jet let out a wince as he approached the downed student.
"Looks like we'll have to work on the curves. Don't worry, I had the same thing happen to me too when I first started using my magic." said Jet.
"I wanted to ask you. If speed is also a type of magic, does that mean there are more uses besides running?" asked Tenya as he stood up.
"Well of course there are, but I guess that depends on the imagination of the user. I for one am happy with my fighting style, but if you want to make your own style, be my guest." said Jet putting his hand on the student's shoulder.
"Thank you." said Tenya nodding.
A couple of days had passed since the students started training their new powers.
Thanks to the dragon slayers, Izuku managed to gather enough data to know what kind of attacks he could perform. Whenever he got hurt while launching an attack, Wendy used her healing magic to heal him and allow him to continue.
Ochaco had a hard time in Kagura's training, but even so, she kept going so that she could keep up with the others. Even Kagura admired her willingness to keep going.
Katsuki, despite training on his own, was making progress in terms of handling his magic, even developing new techniques.
It was the same with Shoto. Now that he had overcome the issue of his power, he began to train more seriously in improving his magic handling.
Thanks to Jet's teachings, Tenya was already handling his new speed better, to the point where he created varied attacks from his magic.
There were times when, when they weren't training, they would go on missions with some guild members with the intention of practicing with their magics in authentic situations.
In short, the students had improved quite a bit.
At this moment, the five of them were sitting at a table as they rested from training.
"How was today's training?" asked Izuku.
"Very good. Jet has helped me to be able to go for many miles as I was dodging the obstacles without any problems." said Tenya.
"Kagura is very tough, but I know she is doing it to help me and thanks to that I am now stronger than before." said Ochaco.
"I'm happy for both of you." said Izuku.
"How about you Izuku? How are you doing?" asked Tenya.
"I've been able to create several attacks moves based on my magic and what I've learned from Natsu and the others, but I don't think I'm up to their level yet." said Izuku.
"I'm sure you'll make it. You are stronger than you imagine." said Ochaco.
"Thank you." said Izuku.
At that moment, a guild member came running through the door with a joyful expression on his face, as if something exciting was happening.
"Guys, Laxus is back!" the guild member announced, causing the others to burst with happiness.
Although, in the case of the students, they were a bit confused.
"Laxus?" asked Shoto.
"Oh, that's right. You don't know him." said Lucy as she and her friends approached the students.
"Who is this Laxus everyone is talking about?" asked Izuku.
"Laxus is one of the strongest members of the guild." said Gray.
"Not only that. Like me, he is also a dragon slayer." said Natsu.
The students were shocked to learn that one of the strongest mages in the guild was a dragon slayer.
"Was he also raised by a dragon like you?" asked Tenya.
"No. He is a second-generation dragon slayer. That is, he got his magic artificially." said Wendy.
"In that case, how is it possible for a fake to be the strongest?" asked Katsuki, believing that, if the magic arose artificially, it would be weaker.
"Just because he obtained his magic that way, doesn't mean he's weak." said Erza.
"After all, he is the grandson of the master." said Lucy, much to the surprise of the students.
"Wait, Laxus is the grandson of the master?" asked Izuku surprised by that information.
"Not only that. But he's so strong that he defeated one of the 10 wizard saints." said Gray.
"Wizard saints?" asked Shoto.
"That's the title given to the most powerful mages in the kingdom. In fact, the master is one of them." explained Erza.
That surprised the students even more. Not only had they just discovered that the guild master was one of the strongest mages in the world, but their grandson was so powerful that he managed to defeat one of them. They were beginning to wonder just how powerful that guy was.
That's when they heard someone come through the door.
"Look, they're back!" a guild member shouted.
Turning toward the door, the students saw four people standing there. The first was a man who dressed like a knight; the second was a woman with brown hair, glasses, and a green dress; the third person was a man with very long green hair; and finally, the fourth person was a large, muscular man with yellow hair, a lightning-shaped scar on his right eye, a large coat hanging from his shoulders and a black shirt.
Just seeing the last person made the students freeze in fear, which made them realize that this scary-looking man was Laxus.
"Laxus!" shouted Natsu as he jumped towards him. "Fight me!"
Laxus simply closed his eyes and hit the fire dragon slayer on cue, sending him to the ground.
Needless to say, the students were stunned to see the second-generation dragon slayer hit Natsu without even looking.
"Oh, welcome." said Mirajane as she approached the quartet. "How did your mission go?"
The knight man let out a lunatic's laugh. "In my opinion, it was simple child's play."
"Child's play. Child's play." said about five dolls floating around the knight man.
"Lucy, who are the others?" asked Ochaco.
"They are, Bickslow, Evergreen and Freed; they are the Raijinshuu, they are considered Laxus' personal group." said Lucy.
"By the way, a little birdie told us that there are new members in the guild." said the one with green hair who happens to be Freed.
Before he received any kind of response, Laxus turned his gaze to the table where the students were and walked towards them, which made them nervous.
Laxus stood in front of Izuku, who was very nervous due to the mage's intimidating appearance.
"You're the one who possesses the titan slayer magic?" asked Laxus.
At that question, Izuku tried his best to put his nerves aside.
"Y-Yes, that's me." said Izuku.
Laxus' gaze shifted to the five students.
"Come with me." said Laxus before walking away.
The students' nerves were replaced by confusion.
"W-what does he want?" asked Ochaco.
"I don't know, but we'd better listen to him." said Shoto not wanting to piss off the strongest mage in the guild.
The five students got up and followed Laxus to the outside back of the guild which was next to a cliff overlooking the sea and on the ground there were marks of a battlefield, with Laxus on one side, the students on the other and the rest stood on the sidelines, watching the events unfold.
"Attack me." said Laxus crossing his arms and catching the students by surprise.
"Huh?" asked the students in unison very confused by the dragon slayer's request.
"I have been told that some of you possess very rare and powerful magics and I would like to check it out in person." said Laxus.
"I see. He is simply testing you to see how you have fared in your training." said Erza understanding the dragon slayer's intentions.
"I hope he holds back." said Wendy fearing for the safety of the students.
"When it comes to Laxus, he doesn't hold back enough even if it's against his friends." said Freed.
The students were a bit worried as one of the strongest mages in the guild was asking them to fight him. It was as if they were going to fight All Might or Endeavour and such a thing made them so nervous that they didn't know what to do.
"If you want to die, then I'll fulfill your wish!" said Katsuki generating a black orb in his hand. "Explosive Orb!" shouted Katsuki throwing the orb towards the dragon slayer, causing a huge explosion upon impact.
Katsuki smiled at the thought of hitting a very powerful mage, but that smile was wiped away when, as the smoke cleared, she saw that Laxus was standing as if nothing had happened even though he was covered in a layer of lightning, something that surprised the other students greatly.
"That was it? You've made your move, now it's my turn." said Laxus as he stretched his hand towards them and threw a lightning at them.
Fortunately, they were able to dodge it in time.
"If he's going to be serious, so are we. Icy Flame!" shouted Shoto shooting from both of his hands a blast of blue fire that hit the lightning dragon slayer directly, resulting in him ending up frozen in a block of ice.
But then, cracks formed all over the block and soon after, Laxus found himself free from his prison without any trouble.
Tenya took advantage of that moment to accelerate towards him as he set about shooting several lightning. "Swift Zigzag!" shouted Tenya as he used the motors in his legs to zigzag back and forth, managing to dodge the lightning as he approached the lightning dragon slayer.
Just as the student was about to strike him, Laxus turned into lightning and quickly dodged the attack, much to the student's surprise. Laxus, in lightning form, quickly shifted until he rammed into Tenya, sending him back with the others.
After that, he puffed out his cheeks to perform a certain attack.
"Watch out!" said Tenya realizing what kind of attack it would launch.
"Lightning Dragon's Roar!" shouted Laxus firing a huge lightning towards them.
As the students began to think of a way to avoid the attack, Izuku stood in front of them and opened his mouth. Suddenly, Laxus' lightning contorted and ended up going into Izuku's mouth, as if he was swallowing it. Once it ate the attack completely, Izuku coughed a little.
"Deku, are you okay?" asked Ochaco.
"I'm fine. *cough* *cough* I just have to get used to it a little bit. *cough*." said Izuku giving her a small reassuring smile.
"Awesome! Izuku ate Laxus' attack!" said Lucy.
"I thought that wouldn't be possible." said Gray as he remembered that Natsu wasn't able to eat a god slayer's fire.
"Not in Izuku's case. Titan slayer magic is so powerful that the user is able to devour the attacks of any other slayer magic user. As long as they are of the same element as him." said Makarov.
"Did Laxus launch that attack to test if he was capable of it?" asked Erza.
"Ochaco, let's do that." said Izuku thinking of an attack plan.
"Understood." said Ochaco with a nod.
"Lightning Dragon's Breakdown Fist!" shouted Laxus wrapping his fist in lightning before quickly dashing towards them.
Out of the five, Izuku was the only one who lunged towards him as his fist was wrapped in blue lightning.
"Lightning Titan's Fist!" shouted Izuku throwing his fist forward, smashing into Laxus' electric fist.
Yellow and blue lightnings were emitted everywhere due to the clash of forces, with each trying to push the other. While Izuku had a face that showed he was trying hard, Laxus was with a serious and monotone face, as if it was no big deal.
"Now!" shouted Izuku, confusing the lightning dragon slayer a bit.
That confusion increased even more when he saw Ochaco quickly run up to them and stand next to the green-haired boy. Before he could respond to that...
"Gravity Push!" shouted Ochaco causing a mysterious force to push Laxus away from the two, though he managed to steady himself and land on his feet before he hit the ground.
"We did it, Deku!" exclaimed Ochaco with joy at being able to hit him.
"It's not over yet!" said Izuku watching Laxus get up and prepare to attack, but before he could do anything, Izuku puffed out his cheeks. "Lightning Titan's Shout!" shouted Izuku launching a powerful blue lightning from his mouth which, upon impact, caused a huge explosion.
Suddenly, when the smoke cleared, there was nothing, which scared him quite a bit. His fears were confirmed when, looking up, he saw Laxus transforming from lightning to himself, then clasp his hands together and wrap them in lightning.
"Lightning Dragon's Jaw!" shouted Laxus falling towards the lightning dragon with the intention of striking him.
"Deku!" shouted Ochaco worried about his partner.
All he could do at that moment was put his arms defensively over his head as he closed his eyes, waiting for the blow.
But for some reason, it didn't come. Opening his eyes and looking up, he discovered that Laxus' fists were inches above him and free of lightning.
Laxus stood up straight and looking down at the students.
"You didn't do too bad for a bunch of rookie brats." said Laxus, startling the students before turning and walking away. "This was just a warm-up. Next time, I won't be so nice. So you'd better get stronger."
The students were left confused at the outcome of the fight and the lightning dragon slayer's words.
"What just happened?" asked Tenya.
"Don't you see?" asked Erza as she and the others approached. "Laxus has approved of you."
"Approved?" asked Shoto.
"Yes. He sees that you can become stronger than you are now, and I think he will test that in a future fight." said Gray.
"He can get ready now. Next time we meet, I'll kick his ass." said Katsuki.
"I can't wait to see him." said Natsu.
"It's amazing, isn't it, Deku?" asked Ochaco.
"Yes. Yes it is." said Izuku.
After that, now the students were determined to become stronger. Not only so that they could live up to Laxus, but also so that when they returned to their world, they would become great heroes, even the best.
