Day 12- Rexsoka: Sitting in Silence Together
Writing up reports wasn't exactly what either Rex or Ahsoka would define as fun. Perhaps barely tolerable would be a more appropriate description. And the only thing that really made it tolerable was that they could sit and do it together.
Though neither would say it, it was no mystery to anyone in the 501st that the Captain and Commander liked each other. As such, they would take what time they could and spend it together; on the battlefield didn't really count.
The two sat in Rex's room, both seemingly content typing the reports up on their datapads. He sat at his desk, while she had placed herself on his bed, usually sitting cross-legged; though it was not uncommon for her to be constantly shifting positions. Certainly the young Togruta had learned over the few years to be patient and sit through the writing of a report, but she wasn't always the best at sitting still. Especially for extended periods of time.
At this point, Ahsoka was becoming restless. She was almost finished the report, but it was becoming hard to concentrate. It was tempting to throw the datapad to side and simply lie down in the bed; it was very tempting. Not to mention it probably smelled like Rex.
Ahsoka sighed. Of course, that would just be another distraction. Not that sitting in the same room as him wasn't distracting some times, but she was sure being able to smell him and see him may be too distracting.
She looked up at the man, who sat with his head in one hand, the other typing away on the datapad. Oh, how badly Ahsoka simply wanted to get up and wrap him in her arms. She wanted to hold his hands, small in big, and sit on his lap, and stroke his face. Maybe even steal a kiss or two.
However, she knew better. Not that her hang-ups were with they fact that she was a Jedi. Perhaps it was more because it would be rather serious fraternization (and he would be in rather severe trouble if they were found out). But even then, her biggest concern was simply the chance of a bigger distraction in the middle of the war. It wasn't exactly what she needed; or him either.
Ahsoka looked back down at her datapad and sighed. She really needed to finish this...
When he heard Ahsoka sigh, Rex turned around to check on her. She seemed to be still hard at work, though he could tell she was tense, anxious to be finished. He didn't blame her. He wanted to be done too.
"Which won't happen if you stare at her," Rex silently reminded himself. Yet he could hardly help himself.
Her big blue eyes were glancing down at the datapad, moving quickly back and forth as she typed and rereading what she had already put down. He could see her lips, pursed in concentration; though he quickly moved his gaze, trying not to be distracted by thoughts of kissing her.
Yet, Rex found himself caught up in studying her face anyway. His fingers twitched with a sudden desire to trace her white markings; he imagined her face was soft to touch.
His gaze traveled up to her montrals, and he followed the blue strips down her lekku. He could trace the blue as well as the white on her face.
Rex shook his head. As much as he enjoyed the company of his commander, it could be distracting. He didn't even know if touching her lekku was allowed.
He sighed and turned back to work. The report wouldn't write itself...
