Here is the next chapter of my story. Please read and review love Sag x
Harish Patil stood outside his daughter's room and took a deep breath exhaling before knocking and entering once she had said he could. "Ok girls now come here please. Parvati just come out! I know this isn't your room but there's no need to hide when we all know you're always in here these days despite having as room of your own. As you know marriage contracts are signed before you go off to school if you are a pureblood and we have signed some for the both of you however before I tell you who you shall be marrying I will be invoking the Patil Pact. You know that this means you cannot tell anyone who the other one is marrying without either their or my permission. Obviously if they give permission you will not need mine!" he said eyeing Parvati in particular who blushed her head off. She was a well-known blabber mouth and blushed as her father's gaze stayed on her a while longer than it should have. The Patil Pact was serious business and she knew that so either she or Padma was about to get a majorly important fiancé.
Parvati was annoyed he had targeted her and annoyed that he was right. It wasn't cool but he was right and she would have wanted to tell everyone about it. She focused some more with baited breath waiting to hear who he'd chosen for her. He could have picked anyone and she would need to like it but he had promised her he would pick nothing but the best for her and she did believe him. "Ok daddy. Please tell us now!" she commanded in an excited tone of voice jumping up and down before quickly sitting on the couch as he had asked of her whilst Padma looked on with interest not nearly as out there with her facial expressions as Parvati.
"Ok now I will explain who you will be marrying and what will be expected of you. As I promised you both I have arranged for only the best for my daughters and will accept nothing less for my angels. Parvati we will begin with you as Padma's is quite different and unusual to say the least. For your match we have selected the wonderful and cultured Italian family of Zabini and their son Blaise" he said taking a parchment out from the inside of the right pocket of his robes and straightening it out so he could read from it. She looked highly invested and was delighted he was Italian as she found that more interesting. She knew nothing about being Italian and he nothing about being Indian so hopefully she could help him out there and vice versa. Padma looked up in concern when he mentioned her contract as being quite different. She was nervous as she had no idea what quite different could mean. She trusted her dad though so knew he wouldn't mess up. Only time would tell.
"For this marriage you are expected to marry at the age of twenty one and you are expected to live in some part of Italy of your choice by the age of twenty three. Before you marry you will both submit to a ritualistic cleansing which will ensure honesty and loyalty in your marriage. Cheating will be forbidden completely. You will be expected to have a minimum of two children and a maximum of eight. You will also be expected to have some nanny elves which you choose together. You may do as you like with that information. He is expected to celebrate all Indian traditions and customs with you as his teacher. Lastly you may see friends and your family here as and when you like so long as you inform him where you are going and when you shall return and vice versa" he said finishing and looking at Parvati who looked stunned. She was smiling brightly. Those rules or conditions if you will seemed nice. She knew it was shallow to think so but she hoped he was good looking. It would be such an ego boost to have a gorgeous man on her arm making her look good. What did Italian people even look like anyhow? She had no idea. She was fascinated by the fact that he'd said Padma's was very different indeed. He reached into his left pocket and removed the parchment relating to Padma. He straightened it out and looked at her as she waited patiently to see what he would tell her.
"Ok now first of all Paddi let me read this without interrupting me otherwise you will not understand it all. The family that you will be marrying into took a heritage test with the bank and discovered they'd inherited from four families which doesn't include their own last name. They have stated that they do not feel you would like their own name and the attention it would bring so they have said you and you alone may select which one of the following surnames you wish to choose for yourself. They are Addlemore, Peverell, Darkmore and Axel. You do not need to decide now but will choose over time. Did you understand that so far?" he paused to check she had gotten it.
"Yes daddy. I must choose whichever surname I like the best and I am being given this choice which is lovely. Why did they say I wouldn't want their personal last name though?" she asked her face wrinkling in confusion. Who would say that someone wouldn't want their last name? What a weird thing to say.
"He said that because he is Harry Potter. Yes that Harry Potter. He confessed he hates his fame and wants as little to do with it as possible. He guesses you wouldn't want that either so suggested giving you this choice. Now you will marry at eighteen as this is what is required of him by the houses he inherited from. You will not have children until the age of twenty four and you may have a minimum of two and a maximum of six children from that point onwards. Cheating is completely forbidden except in cases where potions or spells have been used to make you cheat against your will because of who he is. Neither he nor I believe people will be able to simply accept that either so should that or anything like it happen those who do it will feel the full force of the law and both of our families. Jealousy is ok as we expect many people to be jealous and say mean things it's only wrong if they act on those things as well you know. You will live in one of the manors for whichever family you select. You may do anything you like with his full support be that working or being a house wife!" he said as she gasped. She couldn't believe it. The Harry Potter from her books wanted to marry her. It had always been a secret ambition of hers but not something she'd ever dreamed could be a reality. What he had said about jealous people however had scared her. What if they did act on what they thought? Well at least both families and the law would catch them. She was relieved to hear everything was so fair.
"Also as he knows nothing at all whatsoever about our culture you Padma will be expected to dress him appropriately for any function he attends with us! I should tell you now as well that after conversing seriously with him since I met him in the bank that the person who wrote those untrue books about him is being sued. He never rescued a princess in a tower and so on. I am sorry it's not true darling but it's better to know that now isn't it? Anyway I think we all knew it wasn't true if we were really honest with ourselves didn't we?" he asked her a serious yet knowing look on his face.
Sometimes always knowing things wasn't a gift Padma thought grumpily as her father always seemed to know when she knew things. Parvati on the other hand to the disappointment of Harish seemed genuinely stunned to know it wasn't true. He just hoped as she matured Parvati became better at logic and reasoning. His little girl had always been very immature in comparison with her twin sister but he loved them both equally. He knew when Parvati matured more she would have the same understanding he had. It had taken him a while too when he'd been young to mature something which he needed to remind himself hadn't come over night. Just because Padma was better at it than most her age didn't mean it wasn't hard for others. Seeming to come back into herself once more Padma finally got what he had said and smiled brightly. This was amazing. She was super thankful he'd thought to leave her choose the last name she wanted. She knew she definitely didn't want Peverell if those story books she'd read as a young girl were to be believed. She didn't want that kind of fame either. That left the Addlemore, Axel and Darkmore lines. She would need to research those families further.
"Daddy I will look into the names of those families and conduct my research thoroughly. After the end of my first year you will have my answer as to which name I would like to take. As you know I don't like to leave decisions on the long finger for too long as that would give me anxiety. Don't worry I'll make sure I make the right choice. Did Harry say he had a preference as to which one he might like me to take? Does he even look like he did in the books?" she asked as her father gathered her into his arms sitting her on his knee and kissed her forehead. Parvati had since run into her own room to think about her own wedding plans even if they were years away. A girl could always dream couldn't she?
"Well sweetie he said that choice is yours and he will go with whatever you choose. He didn't seem to have a favourite name. As for his appearance he looked nothing like the books. His hair was not a mess, he had no scar, he didn't have freckles on his face and he certainly didn't have glasses either. His hair was slightly long and calm indeed and he wore no glasses. He didn't have a thick red scar either just a thin lightning bolt shaped scar which didn't stand out all that much. You'd need to know it was there and look for it properly to actually see it. Now it's late sunshine so why don't you get ready for bed darling!" he said as she agreed and kissed him goodnight. Then he went next door and wished Parvati goodnight as well. Pooja insisted her girls always wore stylish yet comfortable night clothes. Padma was dressed in a spaghetti strap nightgown which reached her calves and some fluffy high heeled slippers she loved. The nightgown was made of traditional Indian silk and very luxurious. Pooja was always so happy with their choices even that of their muggle clothing. As Harry himself had gotten better style these last few years he was finally able to start wearing the wonderful things he did. He would always claim they came from Sirius which in fairness some of them did. He loved magical designers of clothing and loved how luxurious said clothing made him feel. As Padma drifted off to sleep she smiled a huge relieved smile. Everything would be fine now.
