The words, 'no rest for the wicked', tended to take on a whole new meaning for someone when they were a demon. Or at least that was what he'd come to firmly believe since he'd gotten home a little while ago.
He'd managed to swing by Yusuke and Keiko's restaurant for a short while just before they closed to grab something to eat. And during his stay there he'd spent some time filling the couple in on what was new in his life.
Yusuke had been oddly silent, despite the concern written on his face, as he had told them what had happened to his parents earlier in the day. But after he had assured his friends that his parents were fine and told them about Miss Kurosaki- things had livened up considerably.
Yusuke had settled himself in the seat across from him and began to fire all kinds of ridiculous questions at him. And despite the fact that he knew his friend was the curious sort- especially when it came to girls- he'd sat there patiently and answered every single one of his questions to the best of his ability.
By the end of his visit several things had been determined.
The first thing determined, had been that Miss Kurosaki was likely to become one of their special group's girls. She couldn't hang around with him and not become one of the girls like Botan, Keiko, Yukina and Shuzuru. It simply wasn't heard of.
She must be integrated into the group! Yusuke had proclaimed with a grin.
The second thing determined, was that with his protection also came the extra protection of Yusuke, Hiei, and Kuwabara. And yes, he had caught Keiko on the communicator spreading the word to the others via Botan.
Who would likely hunt each of their mutual friends down and spread the word as surely as one spread's a virus.
The next thing determined, was how to approach the woman. In order to integrate himself into her life and vice versa, certain steps needed to be taken. He couldn't just dive into the pool headfirst here. It would cause no end of trouble if he did.
No, he would have to start small with something simple and nonthreatening. Like sending flowers to her workplace every day. And after a little while of doing that, he'd go there in person and meet her.
Yusuke already knew that he intended to take in her scent since his sense of smell was on par with that of a demonized blood hound.
Yusuke had also been kind enough to pull out the souped-up computer that Koenma had given to him for the occasional Spirt World case that tended to pop up. This way he had a veritable boundless library of information that covered all three realms at his fingertips and didn't need to bother waiting on unreliable Spirit World intel just to get things done anymore.
He had one too at home that he sometimes used to check up on his friends when he hadn't seen them for more than a few months. But for the most part, he usually used it to look up various Demon World plants that he may like to add to his garden.
And since he knew just how quickly the souped-up computers worked, all he had to do was type in Miss Kurosaki's name and a few files popped up on the screen.
Absently looking over the faces of each girl/woman's image- he was easily able to find the one that interested him the most and click on it.
The second that her information popped up on the screen, Yusuke leaned over his shoulder to see what he was seeing. And because he was engrossed in his research, he didn't bother to tell his friend to back off as he read what he'd found of the woman's file.
Ichigo Kurosaki had a very impressive record, he realized almost automatically.
She'd been born on July the fifteenth to a very adoring set of parents. Isshin Kurosaki and Masaki Kurosaki. Her mother had perished in an unknown sort of incident when she had been walking the girl home from school when she had been nine. The local authorities had deemed the woman's death a murder due to the state of her body upon being found.
It was speculated by many that young Ichigo had witnessed the event as it took place.
Misaki's killer had never been found.
After that Ichigo had taken up the role of mother to her two younger sisters, Karin and Yuzu. The girls were twins with very distinct personalities and appearances.
As she'd grown, she'd become a delinquent and was often getting herself into fights and other mischief. As the years went by, strange and horrifying things seemed to occur in young Ichigo's wake.
People died and disappeared. Her family and classmates at school fell under attack by unknown people, spirits, and even demons.
He paused there for a moment at the mention of the supernatural. Spirits and demons had attacked her and her friends, family and classmates?
How? Why? He couldn't help wondering before he started reading again.
It had been determined by spirit world officials that the girl had very strong psychic abilities that often made her a target to demons and spirits. She had later come into contact with a young woman only referred to as a 'Soul Reaper' where she'd had some of the 'Reaper's' abilities transferred to her in an effort to protect herself and her family from being killed.
It had been unknown for a while just how such a thing was even possible of someone who had been considered totally human, but as time had passed and her abilities grew exponentially- it was then determined that the girl wasn't as human as she appeared.
At present she was considered to be similar in status to Yusuke. A descendant of a few very powerful demons, apparitions, and even mutant humans.
She had participated in fighting to stop in several rebellions, uprisings, assassination plots, and even a few wars that took place in Spirit World. Many of which would have destroyed all three of the realms if she hadn't had participated.
Today she was considered to be one of the greatest heroes of Spirit World. And was retired as a Soul Reaper despite the fact that she still got herself drawn into Spirit world affairs and maintained strong connections to the friends and allies that she had made there.
After that the information in her file talked about what she'd been doing since her retirement.
She had finished school as one of the top fifteen students in her school after being gravely injured several times and winding up in multiple comas. She'd moved to the U.S. for a bit after turning eighteen to help one of her friends work on his music career while she went to college.
Upon graduating from college with several degrees, she then returned home to Japan and began her own business. Which he was pleased to find he'd bought out and integrated into his company a year or so back.
To date she was very successful in her chosen profession, tending to make more than a few billion dollars yearly doing what she loved the most.
Aside from all of that information was her height, weight, hair, and eye color- both natural and not. Her blood type and marital status.
Everything he'd just seen was interesting as well as useful... to a certain degree.
But it was her affiliation with Spirit World- the fact that she wasn't a normal human- as well as the fact that she worked as one of his employees that had really cinched things for him.
Turning to Yusuke with a smile, he was nearly deafened by his friend's sudden whoop of excitement before he practically started begging to help him reel her in. He was amused to that Yusuke would think that he would need much help 'reeling' her in to begin with.
After all, he had his charms to rely on. And his wit too. So, he was fairly certain that he would do just fine on his own. Yusuke was bummed by having his help turned down, and even pouted a bit. But still managed to wrangle the promise that he'd bring her by soon for he and Keiko to meet, from him.
Shortly after that, he bid his friends goodnight and left deciding that starting first thing in the morning he would implement his earlier plan to integrate himself into her life.
