It's been a couple days since he was let out the Cryochamber, Mostly to give him time to readjust and get used to bodily functions Which felt week and almost useless. When that was done William would sit in a chair facing a wall playing catch out of boredom. He would do this for a few days on end. Other days he would Just spin around in a chair and look at the ceiling. One day he decided to mix it up and look at the stars as they were basically stripes outside the ship as he was singing songs about space travel. Mostly the ones that he knew which caused him to sing songs more than once. On the final day of travel as the ship notified him about arrival in 24 hours, He asked the computer on ways to cure boredom.
"I do not understand your question." It replied. Causing William to roll his eyes.
"What do you have for entertainment?" He asked to which he recieved the same reply as before. William rolled his eyes again in annoyance as he got up and prepared his last MRE during the trip, Mumbling on how useless the ship's computer system is. eating the last MRE.
"Let me know when we're about to land." William said.
"We'll be landing in about 23 hours, 58 minutes, and 28 seconds." The computer responded.
"I swear to god I'm deleting your sorry ass when we get there." He said.
"I do not understand your statement." The computer replied.
"You weren't supposed to hear that you sorry ass piece of shit system!" William shouted to which the system repeated itself. William sighed in defeat as he once again looked out the main window and started singing songs about space for the rest of time until he arrives. He was in the middle of singing Major Tom by Shiny Toy Guns when he was notified that they'll be arriving within 10 minutes. To which he paused for a moment.
William asked the computer if Remnant was in View to which surprisingly the ship's computer replied by saying "Yes, The planet is Visible on the Radar."
William walks over to the Radar system and checks it. Sure enough, The Planet Remnant was visible and was rabidly getting closer.
"So it is. Just ten more minutes of dealing with your dumbass." William said under his breath To which the ship's computer replied with "I'm sorry I do not understand your statement."
William didn't bother replying since he knew he'd get nothing in return, Thankful now that Kridis gave him a parting gift and that was a more sophisticared A.I system. William went back to the main deck of the ship and started singing songs about space again. This time it was Rocket Man by Elton John.
Approximately eight minutes later he noticed the planet of Remnant. First thing he noticed was the moon, one side of it was completely shattered. The ship was flying through what was once half the moon. Now seeing the planet itself and to his surprise. Looked almost exactly like Earth.
"What's the intel on this planet?" William asked.
"Basic intel shows the air is Oxygen, Perfect living habits for Humans." The computer replied.
"What about the inhabitants?" William. To which the computer said there was no data. William just sighed at the response, Knowing now he has to do most of his own research. The ship's computer than started counting down from 60 seconds. To Which he prepped for Landing by strapping himself to the chair in front of the main control system as the ship was landing towards a secluded spot away from the general public and landed descreetly. It appeared to be pretty late at night when he arrived. Taking a peak at his surroundings through the ship's monitoring system, which showed he was in a forest of some kind. Than he decided to see what the device Kridis gave him as a goodbye gift would do so he plugged it into the ship's system to which it started an upgrade process that was going to take about 38 hours. He sighed and grabbed one of his gauntlets, a small drone, and eye contacts which he put on immediately and basically created a personal HUD for him. He walked outside. Threw the drone in the air to which it activated its Hovering sequence. He walked back inside and with the gauntlet he opened up drone controls that only he could see.
The drone flew high into the night sky as he used it to survey the area to which Something caught his eye, It appeared to be a castle on a high cliff face. "Looks like hogwarts got an upgrade." He joked to himself as he activated the Drone's cloaking system and flew torwads the castle. The drone flew towards the castle. Figuring that if he was going to do some of his own recon, He should start at the place that would stick out the most. Once the drone got to it's destination. He started scanning the castle. Expectingly he found human based lifeforms as well as Lifeforms that are a combination of Human and Animals. To which he didn't react but instead still kept scanning. Looking at it's infrastructure. Trying to learn everything he can. Until he saw two teenagers on the roof, One amazonian woman and one knight in modern clothes. He joked about them being an odd couple. He listened in for a while, finding out they speak english on this planet and the knight faked his way into getting into this school.
"They don't look like Wizards so I guess Professor Xavier runs the show." William joked to himself as he flew the invisible drone away from the scene and started looking for the Principal as he nicknamed him. The Drone flew towards the top of the tower, Eventually finding it. Noticing a man, White hair, Black suit, Sitting at a desk with a cup of coffee talking to a woman, Mid thirties, blonde hair, green eyes wearing a white blouse that showed a little cleavage, A long black skirt that went to high it covered a bit of the blouse, Black stockings with high heels, a purple and black cape.
"I don't know what joke to make anymore." William said to himself as he flew in a little closer. Hoping to hear a bit of their conversation. Again, Nothing really important in his eyes so he flew away. Setting the drone to auto return to which it changed course and immediately started heading back towards the ship. William got up from his current position and went to the roof of the ship to retrieve the drone. He didn't wait too long as the drone was usually pretty fast. He collected it and brought inside to which he put it on a desk where he took off his gauntlet flattened it, Basically using it as a computer as he was looking at a monitor only he could see, taking a closer analasys of the data he collected. Not only looking at the footage it collected but the pieces of audio it picked up as well. From what was scanned and recorded, The place he went too seemed like it was a type of college. He then went outside while it was still night time and threw another drone in the air to which it also entered temporary hover mode. This time using his little homemade computer.
"Why I didn't do this the first time I do not know." William said as he flew the drone over the city. Mostly trying to look for a name to call the city. He eventually found it in a conversation he overheard, Hearing the name Vale. Looking in closer, He discovered what appeared to be some kind of crime scene, specifically the aftermath of a store robbery. He flew the drone in there, Relying on the cloaking as he goes in closer look to see what was stolen. From what he could tell. No money was taken but something else was. He scanned the store and found fragments of crystals. Not enough to gather and examine. But he was able to scan a bit of the properties of them. The scans showed small amounts of fire, electricity and ice.
"These will definitely require a closer examination." William said as he flew the drone out of the crime scene. Once again scanning the city. Other than the people who are both human and a mix of animal and human, He noticed the night life was the same as Earth, Both in clubs and in crime. Nothing out the ordinary for him when it comes to the latter.
He decided that he had enough data to go over again and set the drone to return to which it immediately started flying back. Once again he went to the roof of the ship and waited about twenty minutes before the drone arrived. This time however he saw something stalking him. Something a bit wolf like. But bigger and anthropomorphic, Yellow eyes and a skull for a face.
"Okay, I do not want to see the face that made you." He said as the wold like creature charged at him. He got into the ship before it reached him and grabbed a small knuckle duster and his armor before left the ship again. When he did, He noticed there were allot more wolf like creatures.
"It's kinda funny, You're out here to kill me. I'm out here for a workout." He said as he flicked his wrist with the knuckle duster hand and a small 3 foot sword popped out. He popped his neck and got into a battle ready stance. Three charged at him at the same time to which he dodged all of their strikes, using his sword to Basically slash parts of their body off, Mostly arms and legs. Noticing the creatures turn to dust when he does this. This surprised him a bit But he came to the realization that these wolves aren't exactly normal animals.
"Okay, I can see that these aren't for the animal people." He joked. Mostly to amuse himself as another wolf charged at him. To which before the wolf got a chance to strike He slid between its legs and cut them both off. He kicked back onto his feet to which another wolf tried to attack him which he sidestepped it and cut it in half. Finally the Alpha showed up. Much larger than the other members of the pack.
"Really like the subtlety here." He said as he readied his sword. The Alpha charged at him with a full sprint. William stood there waiting. Waiting for the perfect oppurtunity to when it finally showed. He jumped up and decapitated the Alpha. And just like that. The pack was defeated and turned to black dust. He squeezed the handle of the blade lightly to which it retracted. Disappearing and making it look like a silver knuckle Duster once again. He walked back into the ship and closed the ramp. Looking at the ship's defensive system. Only to find a turret system that's run by the ship's AI. William sighed as he decided to go to sleep and wait for day time.
This chapter was originally meant to be even longer but after so much work on it I decided that it was long enough and the original events I had planned on for later in the chapter will happen in the next chapter.
