Jayden came out of Hyperspace on his ship, the Rogue Shadow, arriving at the coordinates beyond the Outer Rim, deep in the Crelythiumn system where Separatist communications had managed to pick some kind of message to the Jedi up, one with a Jedi distress cal that had apparently not been used in over 2,000 years. Concerned and interested, Dooku had sent Jayden to investigate and find whatever it is before the Jedi do.
Arriving at the coordinates, Jayden found...nothing.
"This is weird." Jayden muttered as he checked his location. Yeah, he was where the origin of the message had been apparently coming from, so why was he flying in deep space? Where was a planet? There had to be something around here.
Jayden's eyes widened when seeing a large mysterious object, something too big. The ship's alerts started going off and Jayden realised he was being pulled towards the the large object. He tried to make sure he wasn't when a large bright light came from the mysterious object and Jayden's vision went dark.
When Jayden opened his eyes again, he saw sunlight hit them and he covered his eyes before he shook his head and looked to see he had landed somewhere. "Okay, that's strange. I was just in space and pulled towards some giant metal fortress of some kind...and now I wake up here. Where am I?" Jayden asked himself as he started to scan for his location and knowledge. He found nothing, except that the air was breathable. His scanners also detected another ship close to his, so perhaps he wasn't alone here.
Getting up and putting his mask on, Jayden lowered the ramp of his ship and walked down it to see the other ship was Republic in origin, causing him to groan but he froze when the people walked down the ramp.
It was Skywalker, Kenobi and Ahsoka.
They froze upon seeing him and a tense standoff ensured before Jayden broke the silence. "You guys got stuck here too, huh?"
"Yes, and it seems the same with you." Obi-Wan noted, putting a hand to his chin.
"Yes." Jayden said as he looked around. "Guess we picked up the same signal and came to the same location...only to wind up here."
"Wherever here is." Anakin grumbled as he eyed Jayden warily. Jayden looked at him with a raised eyebrow under his mask.
"Got something to say, Skywalker?" Jayden asked.
"Only that we could've been stuck with a Bounty Hunter and I would've been happier." Anakin said as he glared at Jayden.
"Ouch, Skywalker, that almost hurt my heart." Jayden said with fake hurt before he chuckled. "Besides, I'm better company than a Bounty hunter."
"Hey! I saw something." Ahsoka suddenly said, getting their attention as she pointed. "A reflection, up on the hill."
Obi-Wan peered through his binoculars. "I don't see anything."
"What the...what?" Anakin suddenly said, looking around with confusion. Jayden eyed him, was Skywalker going in sane? "Did you hear something?"
"I didn't hear anything." Obi-Wan shook his head.
"Probably your ego trying to think up ways to make this look good to you." Jayden taunted with a smirk as Anakin glared at him.
"My ego? How is this about my ego? My ego doesn't sound like a woman's voice."
"So you admit that your ego talks to you." Jayden said with a chuckle and shook his head. "And here I thought Ventress was crazy when she was still around."
"Will you two boys knock it off?" Ahsoka asked with a frustrated sigh as she got in between them. "Honestly, it's like you are trying to annoy each other." Ahsoka shook her head. "Boys..." She then saw that the two were staring each other down. She rolled her eyes before snapping her fingers in front of them. "Just blink! By the Force, how old are you two?"
"He started it." Anakin pointed to Jayden.
"Your face started it, Skywalker." Jayden said with a roll of his eyes before he saw someone behind Skywalker, a woman glowing with light. "What the hell...?"
Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka followed his gaze and saw the woman. The woman had knee length green hair radiating pale skin and a flowing white gown as she approached them, the Jedi and Sith noticed she was wasn't just glowing in light. She was also very beautiful with piercing green eyes. Her dress was adorned with golden trinkets including earmuffs with ear rings and an elegant golden headdress that kept her river of green hair behind her head. A deep cut v was in the middle of her dress going all the way down to her navel.
"Hello." Obi-Wan greeted.
"Who are you?" Anakin asked, hands on hips hips.
"I am Daughter." the woman introduced herself. Jayden and Ahsoka shared a look with each other, wondering what this was all about. "Are you the One?" She asked Anakin.
"Uh...the One what?" Anakin asked, confused on her question.
"I will take you to him." The Daughter said, ignoring Anakin's question.
"Him, who?" Jayden asked with narrowed eyes and crossed arms.
"Did you bring us here?" Obi-Wan asked, suspicious.
"Only he can help you. There is little time. Follow me." The Daughter ordered before looking at the sky then looked at the group. "We must have shelter by nightfall."
With that said, she turned and walked away, leaving behind four very confused Force-users.
"Okay, we get brought to some planet for unknown reasons, and meet a very beautiful woman that can glow and is giving us cryptic answers." Jayden summed up their situation. "Did I miss something?"
"No, you got it all right." Obi-Wan shook his head. "We'll be fine as long as we stick together."
"Yeah, I hate to see any other nut jobs on this planet." Jayden said as Ahsoka giggled and they all followed the Daughter.
The group of four followed the Daughter still unsure what was going on but hopefully they would some answers soon.
"Have any of you notice the seasons seem to change during the time of day?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Yeah." Anakin replied
"And there's no animals." Ahsoka said as Jayden nodded his head,
"Not any other people around here either." he said
"And You sense it?" Obi-Wan said to Anakin.
"Since we got here." Anakin nodded. "The Force is very strong here."
"An intersection unlike anything I've ever felt before. Be wary." Obi-Wan warned the other three, even Jayden. he was part of this and despite being the enemy, he hasn't attacked them.
"Excuse me." Anakin said to the Daughter. "Where are you taking us to?"
"To the Father, of course."
"Of course." Ahsoka said rolling her eyes
"Hey while she's at it maybe she could take us to see her crazy uncle twice removed." Jayden joked making Ahsoka laugh.
"And what exactly are you? Obi-Wan asked the Daughter.
"We are the ones who guard the power." The Daughter replied. "We are the beginning, middle, and end."
"So what your saying is your some kind of deity?" Jayden asked
"You could say that." the Daughter said with a nod.
Glad she cleared that up for us." Anakin said sarcastically,
Just then a just debris of rocks came falling down, Anakin pushed the Daughter out of the way as Obi-Wan, Jayden ,and Ahsoka stepped back to avoid getting crushed by the rocks. Unfortunately Obi-Wan tripped and almost fell off the cliff until Jayden and Ahsoka caught him and pulled him up.
"Thank you both." he said
"Your welcome." Ahsoka said, glancing at Jayden. Now she was certain. There had to be good in him. He would've allowed Obi-Wan to fall to his death if there was only evil and darkness within him.
"Skywalker's unbearable, someone has to be around to reign him in." Jayden said with a slight smirk as Ahsoka giggled.
Obi-Wan then contacted Anakin on the com-link. "Anakin, are you there? Are you all right?"
Anakin sighed on the other end. "Yeah, but our friend here has run off. Go back to the ship and try sending another distress call. I'll follow her and find out how to get off this rock."
"And if this is a trap?" Obi-Wan pointed out.
"Then I'm not gonna wait around to find out."
"Anakin, stop! Wait for us to find another way around and meet you." Obi-Wan said but got no answer. It was clear Anakin had shut off his com-link. "Anakin, Anakin!"
"Reckless as always." Jayden mused as he crossed his arms. He looked at Ahsoka. "And I guess you are reckless yourself."
"Hey!" Ahsoka gave him a look. "I'm not reckless."
"Could've fooled me. It was reckless of you to seek me out that time on Saleucami." Jayden said.
"I already got lectured on it afterwards, don't remind me." Ahsoka said as she and Jayden followed Obi-Wan back to the ships.
The trio came to where the ships were, only to find them gone.
"You have GOT to be kidding me!" Jayden yelled as he went over to where the Rogue Shadow was. "Someone's gonna die if they've harmed my ship."
"Wow, pretty protective over a ship." Ahsoka said with her arms crossed.
"Hey, that ship has been a hand in getting me to places when I can't be bothered listening to droids and Separatist idiots squabble." Jayden said with a frustrated huff. "I really should've left the message stuff to someone else."
"Did you lose something?" A dark voice asked behind them.
They turned around as Ahsoka ignited her main saber, to see what looked like a man wearing a dark cloak, had gray skin with red markings, and blood red eyes.
"You didn't do as you were asked." the dark figure said.
"And what was that?" Obi-Wan asked as Ahsoka kept up her guard.
"My sister said to wait" the dark figure replied. Jayden frowned, he could sense this being was incredibly powerful with the Dark Side.
"Did she now?" Obi-Wan said. "We were unfortunately separated, we would like our ships back if you don't mind."
"Not yet!" the dark figure said as he approached Obi-Wan. "Is it true that he is the chosen one?"
This caused Obi-Wan to ignite his Lightsaber as Jayden tensed, his eyes narrowed on the figure.
"What do you know of such things?" Obi-Wan asked
"What shall happen will happen whether you like it or not" the dark figure said as he waved his hand, this caused all the sabers to deactivate.
"You are Sith!" Obi-Wan accused.
"Sith?" The dark figure chuckled before he glanced at Jayden then looked at Obi-Wan."Yes...and No. The storms here are quite lethal. If you want to live I suggest you find shelter." the figure said as he turned into a giant bat and flew off.
"Okay...what in the Force was that?" Jayden asked the question on everybody's mind.
"I'm not quite sure." Obi-Wan shook his head before lightning struck the ground, causing the three to back off as Obi-Wan looked around before spotting a nearby cave. "Quick. There's a cave over there."
That said, the three ran for the cave to seek shelter from the storm.
Later inside a cave, Obi-Wan was already fast asleep while Ahsoka and Jayden were still awake. Ahsoka was now going to take this time to talk to Jayden and see if she can change him from the Dark Side.
"Khan." Ahsoka said, gaining his attention. "How've you been?"
Jayden blinked at her question but remembered this was the first time they've seen each other since Saleucami, as the war had drawn their attention to different places around the galaxy and they hadn't been able to see each other. He remembered that she wanted to try and have more civil, peaceful talks with him but he did warn her to not talk about reforming him.
"Been better." Jayden shrugged as he stared into the fire, the light reflecting off his mask. "This war keeps going on and on and it seems to have no end in sight."
Ahsoka sighed as she leaned back on her hands and propped a leg up while keeping the other straight. "Tell me about it."
Jayden looked at her and his gaze drifted to her legs, seeing her attire had slid up a little to expose more of her thighs and legs and he couldn't help but stare as a small part of him hoped Ahsoka would lift her legs even more so he could-
"My eyes are up here by the way." Ahsoka said with a roll of her eyes but with some amusement as she saw where Jayden was looking, causing him to snap his gaze to her face.
"I thought you had a bug on you, my dear." Jayden said, trying to save face.
Ahsoka chuckled. "Sure you did. You were staring at my legs for an awfully long time to be concerned about a mere bug."
Jayden smirked a little. "Well, you do have a nice pair of legs."
Ahsoka rolled her eyes again in fondness. "Boys..."
"Hey." Jayden said with mock offense, causing the two of them to chuckle. Ahsoka was glad to have this kind of talk with him, it made her think even more that there was a good man beneath the mask, behind all the darkness in his life. She wanted to redeem him, to save him from the darkness. If she could, then the cost will be worth it.
"We better get some sleep." Ahsoka said and Jayden nodded in agreement. "Good night Khan-"
"Jayden." He suddenly said, causing her to look at him. "My name is Jayden. Only you can call me that, but do not call me it around others. I don't want people to know my real name."
"Jayden..." Ahsoka tested the name and she liked it. She smiled softly at him. "Goodnight Jayden..."
With that she laid down to sleep and Jayden soon laid down himself to sleep.
Ahsoka woke up at some time after she received a vision of someone who claimed to be her future self, warning her to sever ties with Anakin lest his Dark Side tendencies begin to corrupt her as well.
At that moment, images flashed through her mind as she experienced another vision. A vision of the future.
More specifically, a vision of what she could only describe as her future.
She saw herself, or at least someone who looked a lot like herself, looking much older with long headtails and expanded markings across her face, sitting on a sofa reclining against a rugged and handsome man. This man was broad and muscular, so much so that Ahsoka could easily deem him the walking-definition of physical perfection. He had short black hair, neatly combed back so only a few stray bangs hung before his face. Pale yet fair skin. His dark brown eyes stared lovingly at a bundle of blue blankets in Ahsoka's arms, whom he had his arm around.
And there, in her arms, to her complete and utter shock, was an infant Togruta.
She couldn't have been more than a few weeks old, judging by the way her skin was so soft it was practically glowing and the small size of her headtails and facial markings. But unlike any other Togruta she'd seen, this child's skin was like that of a human's; peachy and pale.
Was this... Was this child hers? A product of her relationship with this human man?
Shaking her head and closing her eyes, Ahsoka rushed the thoughts from her mind.
"The future is always in motion, never solid, always changing." She quickly repeated to herself, silently hoping this vision was not true. At the moment, she couldn't imagine herself dabbling in something so forbidden like a relationship, marriage included, especially one that produced a child!
Ahsoka began to worriedly ponder how this could be, completely forgetting about her strange surroundings. She glanced over at Jayden, seeing he was still asleep...
"Awaken, young Jayden..."
Jayden snapped awake and sat up, hand on his Lightsaber at hearing the female voice whispering to him. He had heard it once before... after Sidious tortured him. Jayden looked around, seeing no one around but himself and the fire. He then noticed something missing and touched his face and realized his mask was off.
"Ahsoka? Where are you?" Jayden asked with worry as he began to stand up.
"How do you feel, Jayden?" The voice asks once again.
"Who are you?" Jayden asked as he looked for the source of the voice when he then saw a ghostly looking figure appear by the fire. It was a woman.
Jayden grabbed his crossguard Lightsaber and gripped it tightly but didn't activate it.
"Do you believe in the Jedi? in the Sith?" The woman asked as they began to walk around the fire, Jayden wary and tense as he kept his eye on her.
"I'll ask the questions here." Jayden retorted. "Who are you?"
"I am your past." The woman answers, making Jayden narrow his eyes. "We have been tied together for a very long time, long before you were born."
"That makes no sense." Jayden shook his head. "Who are you?!"
"I am Bastila Shan."
Jayden's eyes widened in shock at hearing this. This... this was Bastila Shan? One of his ancestors? The wife of Revan? The mother of Revan's son! The one who helped take down Revan with the Jedi strike force sent to apprehend him.
"Why are you here?" Jayden asked with a frown as he slightly relaxed but remained tense and prepared in case this was a trick.
"I am here with a warning," she tells him.
"A warning? Because of that dark figure from earlier?" Jayden asked. She shakes her head.
"No. What you need to know is that if there is no changeāif you do not adapt, you will fall further than you already have," she tells him.
"What?" Jayden asked in confusion. "What does that mean?!"
However she starts to fade away.
"You will know," she tells me.
"Wait! Come back!" Jayden exclaimed, rushing forwards only to see a blinding white light.
Jayden sat up awake, feeling his mask over his head. It was just a dream... or a vision? It may have been the latter, considering the Force was incredibly strong on this planet. Why did Bastila Shan come to him? Was it because he was her descendant?
He looked at the still sleeping Ahsoka before he grunted then laid back down to sleep, this time there was no visions.
The next day, as the light appeared and the life returned to tress and vegetarian, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Jayden were walking, looking for Anakin.
"The longer we stay here the stranger it gets." Ahsoka said as Jayden nodded his head in agreement.
"Tell me about it." He said. "I can't tell what's real and what's not on this planet."
"It appears the planet is renewing itself." Obi-Wan noted as Jayden and Ahsoka looked confused.
"What about master Skywalker?" Ahsoka asked still very worried for her Master,
"Anakin wont be easy to manipulate" Obi-Wan said to reassure her.
Just then a giant bat and griffin swooped Obi-Wan and Ahsoka up and carried them off leaving Jayden behind.
"AHSOKA!" Jayden shouted before he saw where they were flying and growled before grabbing his Lightsabers and prepared to run after them.
"Do you think you can save her?" He heard a male voice ask and whirled around to see... Revan himself. "She thinks you can be redeemed... but do you? If you continue down your current path... you will lose her."
Jayden frowned at Revan. "What the hell do you mean?"
"Only a fool embraces just the dark... or the light." Revan said, familiar words to Jayden as he heard it twice before. "And you are just on the side of darkness, that is not the way you must go. Order is balance, light and darkness intertwined. One cannot exist without the other. And that is the same for you. The darkness and the light wage a constant war within you as it did with me."
The sky then starts to change rapidly, switching between night and day as a massive surge in the Force rolls over Jayden. He looms in it's direction to see a large monastery in the distance, with a blue crystal floating above it, glowing brightly.
From the direction of the blue crystal, he can just make out what looks to be a large castle-like structure on the mountain. Through the Force is a surge of tremendous power that he has never before felt in his entire life. It feels even stronger than the presence of both the Daughter and that dark figure from before.
"Skywalker is certainly powerful." Revan noted, bringing Jayden's attention back to him. "But you are just as powerful considering your bloodline connection to me. My blood flows though you, as such the Force is strong with you, incredibly strong. However, your potential is wasted in just one side!"
Revan activated a purple Lightsaber, the very one Jayden had at his belt, and swiped at Jayden when everything went black for him.
Jayden woke up in the Rogue Shadow and looked around with a frown. He stood and saw he was still on the strange planet, and his ship was next to the Jedi's. Having enough of this planet, Jayden got the ship ready and soon took off...
And this is the beginning of the Mortis arc, but it's not over that easily. It seems he has been visted by Bastila and Revan themselves, who are trying to set him on the path of balance, on the line between dark and light just like Revan was.
