Jayden blinked as he saw he was in some dark place. There was nothing here at all...just darkness. "Where am i?" He asked himself as he looked around but he didn't know if he should walk anywhere considering all he saw was blackness.
"I brought you here." A familiar voice spoke within the darkness before Revan appeared in his robes and mask.
"W-Why are you here?" Jayden asked.
"To give you a lesson and set you on the rightful path." Revan answered as he circled Jayden who kept his eyes on his ancestor. "I have been watching you since the day your Master came and took you as a small boy to train in the Dark Side of the Force...to the point that is the only thing you know when it comes to the Force and it's abilities. Yet I know the conflict inside you, the question of ever joining the Jedi yet you know what kind of 'justice' they will ensure. I bear knowledge of the Council's 'justice' and I am a standing testament to their reform. In my era, I did what was necessary to end the conflict forever. Now I will begin to set you on that same path as I did."
"And if I don't want to?" Jayden asked with narrowed eyes.
Reven merely took out his Lightsaber and activated it, a red blade humming. Jayden grabbed his Lightsaber and activated it. Revan strode forward and Jayden rushed to meet him and went for a side slash but Revan blocked it, did a spinning attack but Jayden barely managed to block his attack. The two parried and blocked their attackers before entering a Saber lock.
"You try telling me to walk your path when yours was just as evil as mine?" Jayden asked.
"Do not presume to tell me my path when you walk yours blind." Revan replied before he shoved Jayden onto his back easily and watched his descendant get to his feet quickly. "The Force existed long before the Jedi and Sith divided it into the Light and Dark and it will continue to exist long after both Empires are gone."
Jayden growled as he went on the attack but Revan easily blocked his strikes and knocked him down every time, it was like he wasn't even taking him seriously. jayden grabbed his other Lightsaber and activated it, twirling both around and assuming a stance.
"I cannot be hold to the Jedi's rules." Revan said.
"Is that how you justified all the people you killed?" Jayden asked.
"And what of the Jedi?" Revan asked as he twirled his red Lightsaber before pointing it at Jayden. "They say they use their power for good...define good." The two started to circle each other. "This is why the Jedi will never achieve peace. Why you will never achieve peace and the life you desire with the one you love. You are a fool to listen to your Master if he tells you there is only one way. You must be prepared. As I told you, order is darkness. Light and Darkness intertwined. One cannot exist without the other. And that is why the Jedi Order will always fall, why the Sith will always falls from their Rule of Two."
Revan reached into his robes and pulled out another Lightsaber before activating it, revealing a purple blade. Jayden and Revan rushed at each other and started battling once more, Jayden using his quickness and agility to stay on his feet as he and Revan moved around while battling. But it was clear to Jayden that Revan was the superior warrior and was merely holding back a lot.
Jayden swung at Revan's head but he ducked it and landed a knee into Jayden's stomach before backhanding him to the floor. Jayden grunted in pain as he moved before two Lightsaber were brought close to his neck, purple and red. Then the Lightsabers deactivated.
"There is no power a Sith holds that a Jedi cannot choose to wield." Revan said as he looked down at Jayden. "You must be strong enough to master the Force in it's entirety. Show me your mastery of the Force."
Jayden's fists clenched before he roared in anger and unleashed two beams of Force Lightning from his hands but Revan used his purple Lightsaber to block it and threw the Lightning aside with his Lightsaber. Jayden panted, exhausted.
Revan deactivated his Lightsaber and put it away before picking up Jayden's and walked over, going to his knees. He then offers Jayden his Lightsabers and the young man took them.
"The Force does not control you, young one." Revan said softly. "You ally with Jedi which is against your teachings, but your motives are still aligned with the Sith Code. I hope my lessons will have you follow the same ideology as I did, and see that there is a better path to walk. One that will mark the beginning of your legacy...as well as make me proud to have you as my descendant." With that, he stood and began walking away. "Consider my words!"
And Jayden felt himself waking up...
Jayden gasped as he sat up with his eyes wide, breathing heavily. He felt hands on his shoulders and looked...into the blue eyes of Ahsoka Tano.
"Ahsoka?" Jayden gasped, staring at her in total shock. "You're...you're alive."
"Yes." Ahsoka nodded with a smile. "Were you...worried? Anakin and Obi-Wan-"
She was cut off when Jayden pulled her into a hug and held her tightly to him. Ahsoka blinked before she hugged him back and the two sat like that, holding each other. Eventually they broke the hug.
"I thought I lost you." Jayden whispered as he placed a hand on Ahsoka's cheek and stroked it, causing Ahsoka to blush but she enjoyed the feeling. "Don't ever do that to me again. I...I can't live without you."
Ahsoka was shocked at Jayden's words. How deep did his feelings for her go? She wasn't even sure if she herself held feelings for him. They had not that many interactions, only encountering each other on the battlefield. Jayden flirted with her, and Ahsoka responded with smartass remarks yet she couldn't help but enjoy his flirting with her as it was their form of banter but...perhaps it was genuine.
They were snapped out of it when Ahsoka's com-link activated.
"Ahsoka, come in, please. Can you hear me? Ahsoka?" Obi-Wan's voice said on the com-link. Jayden mentally cursed the Jedi for ruining the moment as Ahsoka grabbed her com-link and answered it.
"Yes, Master. Any success with Anakin?" Ahsoka asked, causing Jayden to frown. What had he missed while being unconscious?
"No. Quite the opposite." Obi-Wan said grimly. "Anakin has joined the son." Ahsoka's face turned pale as she heard that. "Do not engage him. You need to disable the ship. We must prevent Anakin and the son from leaving"
"Yes Master." Ahsoka said before shutting the com-link off upon hearing the sound of a speeder approaching. Jayden and Ahsoka shared a look, knowing it was soon entered the ship as Jayden and Ahsoka were on the ceiling as they jump down and ran outside.
"Take this convertor and go help Kenobi." Jayden said
"What about you?" Ahsoka asked
"I can hold him off long enough for you to help him now go!"
Ahsoka, not even thinking about what she was doing, gave him a quick kiss on the cheek despite the mask, which shocked him. "Be careful." She then ran off, using the speeder.
"You too" Jayden said, still in shock as he saw Ahsoka leave then he heard Anakin come out.
"What have you done?!" Anakin demanded.
"What needs to be done." Jayden said igniting his Lightsaber, Anakin activated his and attacked Jayden. Jayden blocked and parried Anakin's attacks. Jayden Force pushed Anakin into the ship before lunging at him.
"I've been waiting for this since Tibrin!" Anakin growled.
"So have I." Jayden replied as they continued to duel.
For twenty minutes they battled until entering a saber lock, the two glaring at each other. Jayden and Anakin continued to strike and parry each other's attacks before they twirled their Lightsabers around and smashed them against the other's before they reared their hands back then threw them forward, trying to Force push the other but instead they ended up Force pushing the other back. Jayden fell onto his back and grunted before he shook his head and looked to see Anakin leaping at him, swinging the blade downwards-
"ENOUGH!" The Father grabbed the blade and stopped Anakin, allowing Jayden to get to his feet and deactivate his Lightsaber. The Father looked at Anakin. "What did he show you?"
"I've seen what I've become." Anakin said, still horrified at what is in his future, what he will become, a Sith Lord...by the name of Darth Vader. "And I can not let that happen."
"If there is to be balance what you have seen must be forgotten." the Father said as he touched Anakin's head causing him to pass out.
"What did you do?" Jayden asked as he looked down at Anakin.
"I have erased all that my son has shown him. Now come, we must to to my temple." The Father said as he carried Anakin with the Force and Jayden followed.
Later that night at the Father's chambers, Jayden and the Father were meditating just as Anakin was staring to wake up.
"Where am I?" Anakin asked as he sat up.
"I have brought you to my temple." The Father said
"What happens?" Anakin asked
"My son has broken the laws of time, it showed you what you should never have seen."
"I don't remember." Anakin said
"I have erased that time, we shall never know."
Just then they hear a zooming noise and saw Ahsoka and Obi-Wan on it.
"Are you alright?" Obi-Wan asked his former student as he and Ahsoka walked over.
"I think so." Anakin said. "but we need to stop the Son once and for all."
"You know what needs to be done." The Father said to Anakin
"How quaint, My own going away party." the Son said as he appeared
"I ask you one last time do not leave my son." The Father said as he faced his son.
"You have no power to keep me here, old man, you must understand this planet is not my destiny!" the Son exclaimed
"But you will destroy all that is good, I beg you... restrain yourself, and stay." the Father begged his son.
"I can not." the Son said
"Then shall it be done, I love you my son."
"Do you?" the Son asked.
Then Anakin ignited his saber and attacked but the Son blocked him and grabbed him by his throat as Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Jayden ignited their sabers as the Son threw Anakin aside.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka tried to attack but the son called their saber to him and he pushed them back. Jayden activated his two lightsabers and faced off with the Son. He leaped at the son who easily parried his attack then caught his two Sabers by the blades.
"I sense great anger in you, boy." The Son said, sensing the emotions within Jayden. "You have hate...you have anger...but you don't use them."
"I'll use them to kill you for trying to take Ahsoka away from me!" Jayden yelled as he shoved the Son back with a Force push but the Son responded by blasting Jayden with his red Force Lightning which sent Jayden flying to where Ahsoka was.
The Father saw the dagger on the son's belt then called it to him.
"What you're going to kill me now?" the Son laughed
"I had hope you would resist the dark side but I see now there is no going back" the father said as he pointed the dagger to him and stabbed himself with it.
The Son looked in shock "No what have you done it did not have to be this way!" The Son said crying
"This way I take your power." the Father said weakly
"Please don't die." the Son begged his father even though he knew it was useless.
"I always knew there was good in you." the Father said hugging his son.
Then Anakin stabbed the Son in the back as well as the Father.
"And so you have betrayed me, Father." were the Son's last words before he died.
Anakin kneeled to the dying Father. "It is done." Anakin said
"And now I die my heart broken but knowing the role that you play."
"And that is?" Anakin asked
"That you are...the chosen one...you have brought balance to this world... stay on this path and you will do it again for the galaxy... but beware your... heart." the Father said was he died.
Just then a huge flare of light shined upon the four and they disappear.
Jayden blinked upon finding himself in his ship and he looked around. The Rogue Shadow was intact and fine, much to his relief. he looked out and saw the Republic shuttle with Ahsoka, Anakin and Kenobi on it. Without another word, Jayden typed in the coordinates for Dooku's ship he'll need to inform his Master that this message had been a fake and a Republic trap.
He will not mention what he has experienced on Mortis. But his mind went to what Revan said to him, of walking the path he did... of walking the line between the Dark Side and the Light Side...
And that's it for the Mortis arc. And it seems Revan's ideology and path has somewhat gotten into Jayden's head.
