JN Ash in Kalos POV:

"WHAT?!" Clemont shouted out

"Quiet down Clemont, please! We can talk this out!" Ash said desperately

"Ash you've gone crazy! Time travel is impossible. Science wouldn't allow anything like it!"

Ash sighed, "Clemont please, you know me. I'm not a liar, I'd never lie to you, you're one of my best friends,"

Clemont looked touched at the remark, "Oh…. but….. how….. what…. Why?"

Ash shrugged, "I don't know either. But please think rationally here. I'm not a liar, I show up with a new pokemon, new clothes that morning, Pikachu knows a new move and I own all of these valuable battle items. Come on Clemont, think straight here."

Clemont paused for a second and scratched his head. "It just goes against everything I know, it doesn't make sense. Time travel is impossible, but you being a thief isn't,"

Ash's eyes lit up and he pulled out his rotom phone, "Read the date Clemont,"

Clemont's eyes widened, reading a date almost a year into the future "You being a time traveler is impossible, but Ash Ketchum successfully hacking a Rotom Phone is even more impossible!"

Ash smiled, "So do you believe me?"

Clemont took off his glasses and started cleaning them, thinking before he spoke. "Yeah, yeah I guess I do believe you."

Ash jumped in happiness, "Awesome! But wait, I was going to ask. I saw in a movie once that had all this science about time travel. Can you tell me?"

Clemont's eyes widened and he smiled, "Well, I'm glad you asked….."

*10 mins later*

"Which theoretically means that if the multiverse theory is real, there are no real consequences to any actions in the past."

Ash spoke in a very puzzled tone, "Huh? What does that mean?"

Clemont rolled his eyes, "Nevermind, thanks for asking,"

Ash's expression suddenly hardened and he looked at Clemont, "Actually there's something I think you of all people need to know what happens in the future, considering what happens to your hometown…" Ash said solemnly

Clemont looked confused, "What do you mean, what happens to Lumiose?!"

Ash looked down, "A lot of people died. A horrible weapon was unleashed by Team Flare, and we defeated them, but many lives were lost in the process. I know the movie said it was wrong to change the past and it can mess up the future, but I can't sit by a second time knowing all of those people and pokemon are going to die if I don't stop it before it happens."

Clemont looked at the ground sadly, "Ash, if it already happened it's their fate to die as awful as it is. History can't be changed,"

Ash shook his head, "I already changed history just by beating Wulfric on my first try. So if I'm changing things for the better, the most important thing is to save the lives of the people of Lumiose City."

"That's really mature of you Ash. I'm impressed with you, seriously. I guess if we're changing the future, let's do it as a team."

Ash smiled, "Yeah, when it's time for the league I'm gonna take down the leader of Team Flare. I'll think of a plan and get you and your dad to help."

Clemont nodded, thinking of how he'd explain this to his Dad before he looked back at Ash

Ash interrupted, "Oh! By the way, please don't tell this to Bonnie or Serena. Bonnie because she can't keep a secret and the last thing on earth we need is people coming after me for one reason or another. And for Serena…. well, ummmmmm," Ash said that last part with a small blush which Clemont noticed

Clemont looked at Ash confused, "What about Serena? She's trustworthy,"

Ash nodded, "Yeah, I know that but she did something in the past and I don't want her to know what she did," Ash said nervously

Clemont looked even more confused, "Oh come on Ash, it couldn't have been that bad. She's so nice,"

Ash blushed and spoke quickly, "Well she sorta kissed me and ran off and I haven't see her since and I still think about it daily almost a year later,"

Clemont slapped his head, "You dense doofus, you're telling me that you haven't noticed all the signals she's sending you? Ash, I'm awful in these areas and I still noticed!"

Ash scratched his head, "So umm what should I do about it?"

Clemont sighed, "You figure that one out yourself. I suck at this sort of advice,"

Ash threw his hands up, "Well I mean whenever I see her I can't help but think of that kiss over and over, and it confuses me! Maybe I want to experience it again?"

Clemont sighed, "Look, it's getting late. We can talk more tomorrow, but I think you should sleep on those thoughts. Sleep helps with this stuff,"

"Night Clemont,"

"Night Ash,"

Ash fell asleep, dreaming of a certain smile (And beating Lance)

The next morning—-

Ash looked out of his window and saw that a blizzard had hit the city. No traveling would be done today.

Ash sighed and looked around. Well, maybe he could do some training at the very least, he hadn't released any of his pokemon since the gym battle (spare Pikachu of course)

Speaking of Pikachu, the rodent was curled up under Ash's sheets, snoring away. Ash laughed and went to get breakfast. If he could find a way to disappear to somewhere in the city, he could spend the day training which would be nice before the league.

And something even more important than the league, Ash would have to stop Team Flare.

Ash grimaced and a dark thought passed over his head, if Lysandre played dirty back then, so would Ash nowadays. He had a Gengar, and he could ask Clemont to find where Lysandre slept. It was a terrifying thought, but a Gengar attack while the terrorist slept would ensure he never would harm anyone and he'd not die. Which was fine with Ash, he'd never kill but he'd have no issues making sure he'd forget how to speak or see the world normally. He loved his Gengar, but the species still terrified him. But seeing the destruction of Lumiose all over again would terrify him even more

Bonnie started pounding on Ash's door. "Ash, Ash! Snow! Serena and Clemont are meeting me outside to build a snowman, wanna come?"

Ash smiled, "Yeah! On my way out!"

A few minutes later, Ash walked out in his snow gear and saw Clemont rolling up a massive snowball, struggling immensely.

Ash smiled and joined in, creating a large ball with ease. Serena smiled at him, and the group continued to make a snowman.

Soon enough, the snowman was complete and they took a group picture with it, Serena smiled at Ash in the picture, who actually blushed and looked away at her making eye contact and smiling. Or maybe it was just the cold weather from the blizzard. But either way progress was progress.

Ash saw that Bonnie looked cold and made a proposition, "Hey guys, you seem cold, I'm gonna go get some hot cocoa from the nearest cafe. Do you want to join me, Serena?"

Serena smiled and nodded eagerly

"Awesome, let's head out," Ash said while giving the siblings a wave

The two walked next to each other and Ash spoke first,

"Just wanted to say thanks for the clothes again. It was really nice of you to help me out like that."

Serena flushed red and looked down at the ground, "Ummmm, thanks! I uh think they look great on you. I mean yeah, no problem!"

Ash laughed, "You have great taste, Serena," realizing a moment later that he indirectly complimented himself which made him laugh again

Serena giggled also, both of them presumably laughing at the same thing

"What's so funny?" both of them said at the same time.

"Nothing! I just realized that Pikachu is probably still asleep all curled up, and I'm out freezing."

"You jealous of Pikachu who's probably all cozy?" Serena asked in a joking tone

Ash shook his head, "Nah, if anything, he should be jealous of me. I get to hang out with you!"

Serena blushed again, about to say something when they both reached the cafe.

Ash opened the door for her, and she walked right in. Now that was certainly a surprise, Ash had never held a door for her. Since when was he such a gentleman, giving her sweet compliments and holding doors.

Ash smiled, thinking back to Alola where Professor Burnet taught him some basic manners to do when with a girl. She even made him practice his manners on Lille!

Ash paid for the hot chocolate and opened the door again, surprising Serena even more. How on earth did he change this much in such a short amount of time! Ash paying for food was rare, but he did sometimes. Holding the door once could have been a fluke, but never twice! He was treating this like a date! Did he think it was a date? Serena shook her head, there was no way Ash could think of a date as anything besides a time.

As the two walked back, Serena tried making more conversation.

"So Ash, are you excited for the league? It'll be so much fun, and I bet you can win it!"

Ash smiled and looked at Serena, "Ya know, I'm focusing less on winning and more on making sure my pokemon are at their best. I've done my fair share of leagues, and I know they can be full of crap. One time a dude showed up with a Darkrai and Latios at the Sinnoh League and steamrolled the entire league."

Serena looked horrified, "And how'd that go for you?"

Ash shrugged, "I mean I was the only one to beat his Darkrai and his Latios so if it was a normal year, I'd have won. I beat my rival Paul also and that felt really good considering his history"

Serena gave him a genuine smile which made his heart beat faster, "I know you Ash, and I know you can beat anyone, Darkrai or not. So next time you face this Tobias guy, I bet you'll beat his entire team instead of just two pokemon."

Ash gave her a genuine smile which made her heart beat faster, "Thanks Serena, I appreciate that. Oh look, we're back already! Thanks for coming along."

Serena blushed, "Oh yeah, of course. Happy to accompany you,"

Ash dropped off the hot cocoa to a table where Clemont and Bonnie were sitting, trying to warm up.

He chugged the steaming hot cocoa much to the horror of the group and ran off.

"Hey guys, I'm gonna go train so see you all soon" Ash ran off much to the confusion of Bonnie and Serena.

Bonnie blinked a few times in shock and looked at Clemont, "Can I drink it fast?"

Clemont shook his head, "You will regret it if you- BONNIE NO"

Bonnie spit out the hot chocolate all over the table, and some landed square in the face of her brother.

"Thanks, Bonnie," Clemont said in a monotone voice as hot chocolate dripped down his face

"HOT HOT HOT HOT," Bonnie rubbed her hands all over her tongue trying to mitigate the heat

Serena just started laughing hysterically at the chaos. The two siblings never failed to entertain her.

—-

In a locked pokemon center arena.

Ash was training intensely for a potential fight with Lysandre. He was working Dragonite and Dracovish the hardest, as they resisted his fire type Pyroar, making them to run drills again and again. Dracovish ran in circles, trying to catch small rubber balls with his mouth Dragonite was throwing as hard as he could, then chomping down on them. Increasing speed, mouth-eye coordination, and bite strength. Dragonite was practicing his power and speed.

Lucario and Sirfetch'd were sparring, ready to counter his dark-type Mega-Gyarados.

Ash nodded at the progress his team was making, he was working with Gengar and Pikachu personally today, as they'd be the most useful for his plan to take out Lysandre in the dead of night.

Pikachu was practicing light jolts of electricity, enough to fry a lock but not set off any alarms

Gengar was practicing staying hidden in the darkness, and he seemed very eager when Ash mentioned attacking a sleeping human. Ash was slightly concerned, but he figured asking Gengar to do this would be like asking a water type to swim across a lake. It was just what they were good at.

Ash thought he was alone, but standing on the tip of her toes, a young blonde girl watched in curiosity at this spectacle.

Bonnie shrugged it off, after all, Ash mentioned he had some new pokemon.

Ash took a break and looked outside. Seemed like the sun was out, so he could travel tomorrow. As fun as a snow day was, he'd need to get to Lumiose early to take care of business. And then win the Kalos League. And figure out Serena somewhere along the way, but hey, that's what adventures are all about right?

For a brief moment, Ash wondered, what was going on back in the future? How was Goh? Did his World Coornation Series rank drop? Or maybe was the Ash from this time sent there?

He shrugged off the thought, too complicated for his liking. Science was just as confusing as girls.
