(Sao Paulo, Brazil)

Kagome was tired. The last forty-seven hours and fifty minutes she'd spent flying, or stuck at other airports waiting for her next flight, had been exhausting. Now, all she wanted was to find a place to sleep and call it a night. There was only one problem with that... it was six in the morning. She had to force herself to stay awake, or else she would never be able to adjust to the difference in times. So happy to finally be off the plane again, she stretched her arms wildly out before running in search of a restroom. Pulling her phone out, she made sure her battery was still good before a thought occurred to her. She was in Brazil, where was she supposed to go now? "Hey, Chouka, where should I go now?"

A faint tug pulled at her, and Kagome smiled, "bathroom first, and food, and sleep! Then...we'll begin our adventure!"

That's what she'd told herself. Ducking inside a now open door as a child ran past her, Kagome pulled her wallet out as she checked the inventory of the shop she'd stepped into. "Hello?" Her Spanish was improving the more she used it. She heard a clatter and rounded a rack of bikes at ground level.

"Ayee, anything I can help you with?"

Smiling, Kagome looked pointedly at a cyan-blue bike. Placing her hand atop the seat, she looked back at the owner. "I need a bike. One that's built for— ...uh, kifuku no ōi chikei? How to say...rocky roads?"

"Mountain Bikes? This way," he led her off to the back where more bikes were racked on a wall. "You a tourist, kid?"

Tilting her head, she thought over his words, nodding; Kagome pulled a travel-sized booklet from her backpack's side pocket. "Moving from Japan."

"...Japan?"

"Yes! I'm moving!" Since she'd boarded the plane, it had all felt so much more surreal. Not to be confused with excitement, she was broken up over her family, and she even missed her attorney, which was a bit strange, but she didn't question it.

He nodded, "welcome to the neighborhood. What brings you to Brazil?"

"...nothing left in Japan. Something is here."

"Right. Sorry to hear that. Hope you find what you're looking for here, kid."

"Mn, shoganai." She shrugged, pointing to a bike.

"What's that?" The man unhooked the wheels and pulled the bike down. Careful of Kagome, he sat it down.

"It's... how would you say it. Oh, like saying, it is what it is."

He laughed, "Que Será, Será! Try it out?" He gestured to the bike.

(Eight Hours Later)

Kagome pulled her hair out through the back of the white cap she wore. Pressing on, she kept riding her newly acquired bike along the streets of Sao Paulo. She kept her eyes on the golden thread weaving through the crowded streets. Most were names she wouldn't or couldn't remember, not that she was trying. She couldn't be sure how long it would take, but she was going to be on a new schedule soon, sleep-wise. "I'll be able to see him again. Camillo..." Kagome blushed, shaking her head. She realized that she was looking forward to meeting him in person. This guy, who was tied to the other end of this golden thread.

"Hey!"

Kagome slowed on her bike, letting a foot drop to the dirt road; she glanced around for whoever had yelled at her. "Yes?" An elder-looking woman waved her over. Kagome kicked the bike stand down and climbed off. Glancing around for anyone suspicious, she crossed the street and smiled at the woman, "yes?"

"It's getting dark. Are you heading out of town at this time of night?"

"I was, yes." Though, as Kagome looked up, she realized just how late it had gotten. "I'll make camp soon."

The old woman shook her head, "my daughter is about to leave. She can take you as far as the next town over."

"Which way is that?"

The elder raised a brow and pointed off the same direction as the gold thread. "That...would be amazing! Are you sure it won't be a problem?"

"Better this than you getting eaten alive by a wild animal. Natalia, come here!"

A woman who appeared close in age to Kagome's late mother walked from around a truck.

"Yes, mama?"

"This girl here, can she ride with you?"

"Sure, of course! What's your name?"

"Kagome, it's nice to meet you, ma'am."

Her bike was loaded up on the back of her truck, and Kagome was helped into the passenger side. She was thankful. Beyond thankful. Somehow, things would work out for her, right? She could only hope for the best, moving forward, without any knowledge of this new world.

(Somewhere in Colombia)

Camillo nearly ran out of the dining room. Racing upstairs, he was ready to shower and turn in early for sleep.

"Off to see your girlfriend?"

"Don't start with me, Mira." Though, he said this as he turned to face his Prima. He'd only been running around like a madman all day to get his jobs done. Actually, for the first time since forever, Camillo found himself wanting to take some time for himself. However, feeling that he would want to do this when Kagome arrived, he had deemed it a better choice to wait until she got to the Encanto. 'Whenever that is...'

"Milo, I haven't even begun." She gripped her skirt tightly in excitement. Running up the steps to stand next to him, she turned to peer over the railing for anyone with mediocre to impressive hearing, "if you see her tonight, ask her when she'll get here! If possible, find out what kind of food and drinks she likes and the colors she likes, and then I can put together a surprise party for her!" She smiled, "Casita will help!"

"I love how you think I'm going to remember all that. Cuz...I won't." His eyes dropped to her bag; a bunch of something was stuffed inside. "What are you hiding?"

"Oh, I... I was going to make her something. You know, a skirt and top, or maybe a dress." She brought her hands up as her cheeks burned in embarrassment, flushed at being caught. "I don't know what she looks like, though, outside of what I've seen on the prophecy. If only there were someone here who could transform perfectly into other people...then maybe I would have a better idea."

Camillo gave Mirabel a hard look before turning and walking towards his room. "Keep up. I'm only showing you once." He felt strange changing into Kagome. He'd done so once already, but now...he didn't want to? How to explain it. He felt like he was invading her space, which had him overthinking his shape-shifting abilities as of late.

Stepping inside his room, it shifted slightly to adjust to his guest. A peculiar quirk of his room. The way he could change to fit his family's needs, so too could his room.

"Oh wow! There are even more fabrics and colors in here," moving to a rack, Mirabel fingered a lovely shade of lavender and a warm maroon that was next to it. Moving to a soft cream-colored, she began bouncing on her feet before facing Camilo. "Let me see her!"

Transforming, he flushed when he glanced down only to see that, while he had transformed into Kagome, his clothes hadn't changed. Yanking his ruana over his head, his hair falling over his shoulders in long black waves.

"...this is her?"

"Well, yeah."

"Why didn't your clothes change?"

"Mm, I don't recall what she was wearing...so I just changed my body."

"So, this form is probably not accurate. Should I wait for tomorrow?"

Camilo shook his head, "it's accurate. I'm sure," he blushed as Mirabel leaned in with a curious look in her eyes. After a few moments of judgmental and inquisitive staring, Mirabel finally leaned away from him and pulled out a measuring tape.

"Arms up, and don't move."

He quickly did as told. Not ready for any questions she might have, he decided to leave her with no room to ask anything. "There's no guarantee I'll see her tonight. I've only seen her twice, and not exactly back to back. It was months until I saw her again."

"Well...maybe you should figure out what makes seeing her in your dreams possible."

Heaving a breath, he exhaled before turning to catch his reflection in the mirror across from them. It was weird seeing Kagome, yet he knew it wasn't her. He'd never wanted so badly to get out of someone else's skin. "I'm really tired, Mira. How much longer?"

She paused in her measuring, looking up. She caught Camilo's eyes staring into the reflection of the mirror. Frowning, Mira turned her attention back to her Primo. "Is it weird being in this body?"

"What?" He laughed, "why are you asking something like that? I'm perfectly fine, you know me."

"Yeah," she gave his shoulder a careful nudge before rolling the measuring tape up and pocketing a small notepad. "I know you. I'm done, by the way."

Quickly changing back, he quickly crossed the room to his door. His dark brown curls flounced with his quickened pace. "I'm going to go shower and go to bed. There's a lot I need to ask tonight if she shows up, so you should...you know..."

"Yes, yes," Mira grabbed a few pieces of fabric before running out of his room. Returning to his preference as quickly as it had changed to hers. It took to the normal ambiance of relaxation and serenity that it always was as she stepped through his door.

Camilo sat down on the edge of his bed. Peering down at the prophecy against his wall for what felt like the millionth time, memorizing it. He recalled a moment of uncertainty. Once hoping not to be a part of some vision, now, he was seeking out sleep to catch a glimpse of the girl in the vision. For even a moment of her time, he felt at ease, and at the same time, restless. "I might be going crazy..." Closing his eyes, he didn't make it to the showers that night. Rather, curling up onto his side, he fell into a nerve-wracked sleep, stepping into a cool liquid-like dream that began differently than any dream he'd ever had before. No, she was nowhere to be seen yet. But in the dream, he was floating in the sky, above the Encanto, where he could see the land far and beyond. Wondering... for just a moment, what would it be like to travel past the Encanto, to see the world past this magical barrier?

Me: Here is chapter seven, and I feel like I'm standing still. I had hoped Kagome would be in Colombia by now, yet here we are. I'm so sorry, guys. Please stay with me, though, and I'll work hard to get us through this story.
