Chapter 17: Secrets
Mount Justice
October 31, 19:34 EDT
Blue Jay's POV
I glanced up from where I had been sitting cross-legged on the floor of the cave, fidgeting with a fake staff that was in my hands as Kid Flash tilted his head back and gave a loud wolf howl.
Wolf was snoring a few feet away, didn't even react and Wally sent the canine a dry look.
"Seriously?"Wally asked in disproval. "You're not going to join in at all? What kind of wolf are you?"
"Wally, stop torturing him."Superboy muttered.
Superboy was sitting on a table, fidgeting as M'gann wrapped gauze around his head since she was trying to turn the super clone into some sort of mummy.
"Hold still, please."Miss Martian instructed.
Wally walked up next to Miss Martian, gestured to Superboy.
"Megan, stop torturing him."Wally commented. "Awkward for him anyway. Being the third wheel on our date."
I rolled my eyes, wondering how exactly it was that Wally still hadn't figured out that M'gann and Conner were dating.
They'd been together for almost two months already and pretty much everyone knew except for Wally.
"Wally."Miss Martian admitted. "I invited the whole team to the dance. Zatanna too."
"Good."Wally said with a flirty look. "Keeps us on the down-low."
Conner looked increasingly put out as he rolled his eyes while I covered my mouth to quietly giggle.
We were invited to attend a Halloween party at Megan and Conner's school in Manhattan, so I had to wear a costume for the occasion.
My shoulder-length dark brown hair was loose and wore crimson coloured contact lenses to alter the appearance of my natural eye colour. My costume was a classical witch attire such as a black cloak, a red robe, orange boots and a black wizard's hat, all with gold border and trimmings, alongside black choker, belt, tights and fingerless gloves. I also wore a red eye patch with a white cross on my right eye and held a fake brown staff with a red gem to complete my look.
Wally looked at Miss Martian.
"So you going as my favourite martian?"Wally asked with a hint of hope.
"Not exactly."Miss Martian answered and walked a few feet away.
Then, much like before the Team had gone up against Mister Twister, colour flooded up M'gann's entire body before she was dressed in an insanely accurate-looking zombie bride costume.
I smiled at Miss Martian's ability since she could wear whatever clothes or costumes that would come to her thoughts.
"Whoa."Wally said and scratched the back of his head. "Babe, eat my brains anytime."
"That's a really cool costume, M'gann."I complemented as I stood up and walked forward. "Zombie bride. Very Halloween like."
"Your witch costume is gorgeous too, Jay."Miss Martian responded with a smile. "Where'd you get it?"
"I actually made it myself."I admitted shyly.
"Seriously?"Superboy asked, raising an eyebrow.
I gave a small nod as M'gann started gushing.
"Oh my gosh, you are amazing!"Miss Martian declared and almost crushed me with the subsequent hug she gave. "I should've asked you to make my costume."
"It's not a big deal."I chuckled and placed my hand up. "I don't design clothes all that often. Just for special occasions."
"You still haven't answered my question, pretty bird."Wally sneered smugly. "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?"
I frowned and whacked Wally's head with my staff.
"Ow!"Wally groaned and rubbed his head.
"Does that answer your question, Mr Wolf?"I asked with a innocent smile.
"Great minds think alike!"Captain Marvel declared with his face painted to look like something.
It seemed that Captain Marvel's face paint looked as if it had been applied by a child.
"Captain, you look terrific!"Captain Marvel commented.
"Are you going to a Halloween party too?"I asked with a hint of suspicion.
"Well, sure."Captain Marvel said. "I'm going with-I mean, you did invite the whole Team, right?"
"Yeah."Miss Martian agreed. "We'll all be at the dance. So, don't worry about us, go. Have a good time at your party."
"Uh, M'gann..."I started.
Just before I could tell Miss M that Captain Marvel wanted to come to Happy Harbor's dance, the Zeta tube gained all of our attention.
"Recognised: Artemis B-08."the computer's voice announced. "Zatanna Zatara, A-03."
The light in the Zeta tube vanished, revealing Zatanna dressed as a witch and Artemis a vampire.
It looks like I wasn't the only girl in a witch costume anymore.
"Oh, hey, Zatanna."Artemis greeted as they both exited different tubes. "You look great."
"Oh, thanks."Zatanna answered. "You too."
Zatanna and Artemis walked up to us as the magician girl's eyes landed on the Leaguer in the room.
"Oh look. Zombie Captain Marvel. That's hilarious."Zatanna complemented. "Is the Justice League having a party because my dad didn't mention it?"
"Honestly, I didn't hear anything about a League party."I stated with my arms folded. "I doubt Batman would want a rambunctious Halloween party though."
"No!"Captain Marvel exclaimed. "No, no, no! See, I'm fine! I'm going trick or treating!"
Captain Marvel leaped over the heads of me, Artemis and Zatanna before landing in front of the Zeta tubes.
"And I'm not sharing my candy!"Captain Marvel added.
"Recognised: Captain Marvel 1-5."the computer announced.
Me and the other two girls stared at where Captain Marvel had disappeared for a few seconds before Artemis turned to me with a smirk on her face.
"Love your witch costume, Jay."Artemis commented. "Is Robin dressing up as the wizard?"
"Funny, but no."I retorted with a frown. "Robin is actually not dressing up at all because tonight he had something else planned."
The something else that Robin was actually doing is being in a meeting with Red Arrow, Batman, Aqualad and Red Tornado about whether or not there was still a mole on the Team.
Robin had asked me if I wanted to come, but I officially said I had enough of the mole business since the incident that happened in India which nearly split the Team apart.
The three of us watched as M'gann was still trying to wrap makeshift bandages around Conner's face.
"So..."Zatanna said slyly, leaning over to us as she stared at Superboy and Miss Martian. "How long have Conner and Megan been a couple?"
"Couple?"Artemis scoffed and laughed in disbelief. "No, they're not..."
Artemis trailed off when she glanced again towards M'gann and Conner, just as the Martian let out a small laugh.
"Will you please stop fidgeting?"Miss Martian asked.
"You are so making this up to me later."Conner added.
I turned back to Artemis just as the blonde frowned and scowled in respond.
It seemed both Wally and her didn't know that Superboy and Miss Martian were dating.
As Artemis started to walk away, I leaned over to Zatanna so that I was able to whisper in her ear.
"About two months, give or take."I answered quietly.
Zatanna nodded before the two of us quickly ran after Artemis to catch up with her.
"I'm sorry."Zatanna apologised. "It just seemed so obvious. I didn't realise-"
Artemis went to enter the Zeta tube.
"Hey, wait!"Zatanna protested. "What about the dance?"
"Not in the mood."Artemis muttered as she crossed her arms before glancing to the side. "Of course, sitting at home with my mom doesn't sound any more appealing."
"Well..."Zatanna started, making both me and Artemis glance over at her. "There is another option. Egnahc sehtolc otni ruo smrofinu!"
There was a flash of light and when I waved away the smoke that was hovering in front of my face and looked down, I saw that I was dressed in my Blue Jay suit.
"Girls' night out."Zatanna announced.
Artemis and I shared our smirks with one another before the two of us and Zatanna erupted out of Mount Justice in one of the Zeta tubes on our motorcycles to the streets of Manhattan.
I had a feeling tonight was about to get a lot more interesting even though Artemis desperately needed to let off some steam and get over her crush on Superboy.
Back in Mount Justice...
Batman held a meeting with Red Tornado, Red Arrow, Robin and Aqualad to discuss the possibility of a mole within the Team.
Robin was sitting in a chair inside the room that Dinah had used to give her trauma assessments as Batman ordered the computer to secure the room.
"Computer, secure the room."Batman ordered.
"Secured."the Computer declared.
"I'll cut to it."Batman said. "Do we believe there's a mole within the team?"
"I am convinced there is none."Aqualad declared. "When Sportsmaster claimed he had an inside source...he was merely sowing dissent."
"His intel could easily have come by comparing notes with the other villains working for the Injustice League."Robin remarked as he crossed one leg over the other and laced his fingers behind his head. "Think about it. If anyone on the team was working with those creepoids..."
"He or she would have betrayed us during our fight against them."Aqualad finished.
"I'm not convinced."Red Arrow admitted. "Sure, you two, Blue Jay and Kid Flash are above suspicion. But I know Artemis isn't shooting straight. For starters, she's not Green Arrow's niece."
"What?"Aqualad said in surprise.
"Well, yeah."Robin agreed and sat forward. "In fact, she's related to..."
"Enough."Batman ordered. "Artemis' relations may indeed make her suspect...but she's still entitled to a secret identity. I'm more concerned about Superboy. We still know very little about what Cadmus programmed into their weapon. Conner could be the mole and not know it."
"And what about Miss Martian?"Red Arrow questioned. "She is Manhunter's niece...but he told Black Canary he has a few hundred nieces and nephews. And the first time he met M'gann was five months ago. When she stowed away on his last trip from Mars to Earth."
"This changes nothing."Aqualad responded firmly. "I have fought side by side with these people. None are traitors."
Robin settled back in his chair, realising that they were all back to square one on who the mole could be.
He was now regretting of not going to the dance with Blue Jay.
Blue Jay's POV
Me, Artemis and Zatanna stopped our motorcycles in front of the Museum of Natural History.
The entrance cordoned off with crime scene tape and cop cars scattered in front of the steps.
"A robbery?"I suggested.
"Whatever happened here is over."Artemis muttered in a grumpy tone. "I want some action."
Me and Zatanna exchanged a look as Artemis brought her engine back to life causing us to do the same thing.
"But maybe you need to talk."Zatanna insisted. "Uh, about Conner and Megan or whatever."
"What I need is something to beat up."Artemis stated.
Artemis got her to wish after she that.
Though this wasn't Gotham City, there were still plenty of criminals in Manhattan and plenty of civilians to rescue.
We helped a couple that were getting mugged at an automated teller machine and caught two thugs robbing a convenience store that was not far in the streets.
The next thing we did was save a girl jogging from a bunch of gangsters.
Zatanna levitated the girl out of the way before Artemis jumped in to confront the gangsters that was quite brutal.
One thug managed to escape from Artemis's onslaught and he made a run for it, but I decked him with a punch to the jaw before he could get away.
I notice Artemis smiling which meant she got over M'gann and Conner being a couple.
Me, Artemis and Zatanna started walking back to our bikes after our stint in the park.
"There were easier ways to take them."Zatanna insisted.
"They had it coming."Artemis said simply. "No harm was done."
I started to have an uneasy feeling in my body causing me to stop walking and warn my companions.
"Guys!"I shouted. "It's a trap!"
The next thing that happened our bikes exploded and the subsequent shockwave threw us back across the street.
Then a man walked out of the smoke that came from the explosion.
The man had long brown hair and green eyes. His complexion was extremely pale and had four long claw marks on his face. He wore a gray trench coat with torn shoulders, blue jeans, black boots and a pair of brown fingerless gloves.
"Indeed."the man said deeply as he began approaching us. "Harm is not done. Much Harm, left to do. The its cannot escape Harm."
I glared at the sociopath as Artemis nocked an arrow.
"Escaping is not on the menu."Artemis stated and shot an arrow with her bow.
Harm easily sliced the arrow and the following ones with his sword.
"Its arrows do not impress."Harm stated.
I stood up and threw my birdarangs at Harm, but my weapons didn't damage him either.
"And neither does its tools."Harm added.
"Fine."Zatanna scowled and turned her hand towards Harm. "Teah taht s'nopaew latem!"
The sword started to glow a splotchy red in Harm's hands and the man glanced down at it sparingly before turning back to Zatanna.
"Its magic is not impressive, either."Harm replied with a grin. "All three must do better or suffer Harm."
"We get it."Artemis snapped as she drew her bow and pointed several arrows towards Harm at the same time. "Your name is Harm."
"Your totally nuts."I retorted coldly as I took out my birdarangs.
"Their ridiculous garb and rudimentary skills indicate instruction from Green Arrow, Batman and Zatara."Harm commented as he turned his gaze towards me, making me shudder. "Though Harm does not know how it sensed Harm's trap before detonation. No matter though, Harm will study these three to learn methods for killing their mentors."
"Oh, you did not just threaten my dad."Zatanna muttered and chanted another spell. "Etativel drows ot em!"
Harm's sword started to tremble in his hand as Zatanna tried to call it to her, but the sociopath only glanced at it sparingly before turning back to the three of us.
"It wants Harm's sword?"Harm asked and smirked. "Very well."
Harm threw his sword forward causing me, Artemis and Zatanna to move out of the way and the sword ended up being slammed into the wall behind us.
"Big mistake, Harm-ster!"Artemis declared.
Artemis and I ran to different sides throwing our arrows and birdarangs at the same time, but Harm managed to catch them before they detonated and threw them back towards us.
Me, Artemis and Zatanna were slammed back by the explosives causing me to rub the back of my head.
I notice a young girl dressed in white clothing was standing, beckoning with one hand and was standing in an alley that a few yards away.
"On second thought, running..."Zatanna admitted.
"Yeah."Artemis agreed. "To regroup."
As me and Artemis started to run into the alley where the fourth girl had disappeared to, I glanced over my shoulder as Zatanna shouted one more spell towards Harm.
"Erif nrub, nordlauc elbbub!"Zatanna chanted.
Fire exploded around Harm in a wide range that blocked him off from following the three of us.
This momentary distraction gave me and Zatanna a prime opportunity to follow Artemis into the alley.
"Nice."Artemis commented.
"Thanks!"Zatanna remarked. "Something I've been practicing since Red Vol-"
"Wait!"Artemis interrupted.
I glanced to see the girl in white standing at the corner and was still beckoning us.
"Who's that?"Artemis demanded.
"Do you care right now?"I questioned with a frown.
"No!"Artemis answered.
Me, Artemis and Zatanna entered the alley where the other girl had disappeared, only for us to skid to a stop a few yards in.
"It's a dead end!"Zatanna exclaimed and glanced around.
"Where'd she go?"Artemis questioned.
The sound of metal grinding together caught my attention as the ladder from a nearby fire escape lowered a foot away and I saw the girl in white waving at them from all the way up at the roof of the building.
"Escape route."I chuckled with a impressed look. "Sweet."
"I like her already."Zatanna admitted.
When the three of us scrambled up the fire escape, I brought up the rear and pulled the ladder up behind me so Harm wouldn't follow us.
The girl in white was waiting for us when the three reached the roof and I walked forward a few steps to talk to her.
"Thank you for the assist."I said. "Who are you?"
"Secret."the white haired girl responded.
"That won't cut it."Artemis replied. "We need answers. Do you know Harm? Does he have any weaknesses?"
"Secret."the white haired girl repeated.
The little girl pointed over Zatanna's shoulder, prompting us to spin around just as Harm leaped up onto the roof with his sword already drawn and ready.
"At least they make the hunt interesting."Harm sneered.
Harm jumped off the ledge of the roof and made his way towards me, Artemis and Zatanna with his sword out to strike us down.
"So much for him not following us."I muttered bitterly.
"He's fast, I'll give him that."Artemis commented.
Artemis spun around and shot an arrow straight up at the water tower causing it to let out a stream of water that gush out as I moved out of the way and Zatanna directed the water towards Harm.
"Dloc dniw wolb!"Zatanna chanted. "Dloc dniw wolb! Dloc dniw wolb!"
The water surrounding Harm froze and he was suddenly encased in a thick sphere of ice.
I started to become nervous when I saw Harm's sword started to glow, along with an intricate symbol on his bare chest.
When the ice shattered, we started running across the roof to get away from the sociopath currently trying to kill us.
"Where'd Little Miss Secret go?!"Artemis demanded.
"There!"Zatanna responded.
We notice Little Miss Secret at the roof of a building that was several yards away and was waving wildly.
"Weird that she got there so fast."I complemented suspiciously.
"Okay, these boots? Adorable."Zatanna said, gesturing to her boots. "But, for a chase sequence? Lacticarp raetwoof won!"
There was a flash of smoke and Zatanna's heeled boots changed into a pair more adept for escaping the sociopathic super villain that was trying to kill us.
Me, Zatanna and Artemis ran across the roofs of New York, Harm sent a bolt of yellow lightning struck right in front of us to stop us from running away.
Artemis prepared to fire an arrow, only for Harm to throw a dagger straight at her head and the blade snapped her bowstring in two.
"You two hold him off while I restring!"Artemis ordered.
Me and Zatanna rushed to attack Harm, but he overpowered us as Artemis took out an arrow shooter and pointed it at his chest.
"You want to play without the toys?"Artemis asked with a glare.
"It tries to bait Harm."Harm responded evilly and dropped the sword so it sunk into the roof. "Leave Harm weak. But Harm has no weakness."
Harm ripped off his jacket with a dramatic flair before getting into a ready position.
Zatanna and I glanced at each other with worried expressions.
Artemis began to fight against Harm in hand to hand combat while the two of us began approaching the sword and try to remove it from its place.
However when Zatanna tried to pick up the sword, she got electrified and dropped on the floor.
"Zatanna!"Artemis and I shouted in unison.
Artemis glanced at Zatanna, only to get slapped by Harm and drop on the ground.
I angrily rushed to defend Artemis, leaping forward and took her place against Harm.
I managed to land a punch to Harm's jaw that stunned the young man for a moment or two, but I didn't give him a chance to recover.
I kicked at the backs of Harm's knees to catch Harm off-guard.
As Harm glared at me over his shoulder, his face twisted into a terrifying sneer causing me to quickly
I saw his entire body tense as I quickly jumped to where my friends stood.
"And it cares about others."Harm sneered as he placed on his jacket."Another weakness. The sword rejected its impure heart. It has not made the sacrifices Harm has to become pure."
"Look."Zatanna hissed, jerking her head to the side, prompting me and Artemis to both turn to where she was looking at. "It's Secret. She hasn't led us wrong so far."
Artemis slowly drew a single arrow from her quiver, tapping the end of it before throwing it towards Harm's feet, allowing a cloud of smoke to billow out and obscuring our movements.
Me, Artemis and Zatanna had to jump off of one building onto the roof of another as we tried to escape from Harm again.
We glanced around to looking for Secret, but she was nowhere to be found.
"She's gone again."Zatanna said with a frown. "Now what?"
"Looks like this is the end of the line."I added as I peered over the ledge. "And we definitely can't go back the way we just came because there's a psychopathic maniac chasing us."
"We'll zipline to that magic store."Artemis suggested and held up her crossbow.
The sound of electric sizzling reached our ears causing us to move out of the way as a bolt of lightning from Harm's sword struck the spot on the roof where we were standing before.
Harm leaped down and stood in front of the three of us with a angry look.
"This can be no coincidence!"Harm shouted angrily. "They alight on Harm's very roof? How did they know? Tell Harm! Now!"
"Wait?"Artemis interrupted, gesturing to the general surroundings. "This is your place?"
"No more games!"Harm yelled out.
Harm took the sword off of his back and slammed it into the roof.
Lightning flew off it, traveling across the roof for a few seconds before hitting me, Artemis and Zatanna with what felt like the force of an entire power station.
Then everything turned black.
My eyes slowly fluttered open as I came conscious again.
Me and Zatanna were sitting side by side on separate chairs, both of them tied up with rope, a crossbow pointing at them from across the room.
I wasn't able to move my mouth because there was duct tape on it.
I glanced over at Zatanna and saw that the magician was trapped the same way.
Artemis wasn't in the room with us, which started to make me worry a bit.
Suddenly a figure approached me and Zatanna, revealing herself to be Secret.
The quiet girl approached me as I started to struggle against the ropes tying me to the chair.
Secret removed the duct tape in my mouth before removing the one in Zatanna's.
"Sepor, emoc esool!"Zatanna chanted quickly.
Then the ropes binding me and Zatanna to our chairs suddenly came loose causing both of us to stand up.
Zatanna glared at Secret.
"First, you lure us into a trap."Zatanna said sharply. "And now you free us? What's your game?"
"Secret."the small girl repeated.
I rolled my eyes before glancing around the room and my sight landed on a nightstand across the room causing me to walk over to it with Zatanna and Secret following behind.
On the nightstand, along with a bunch of other toys and dolls, stood a picture frame with two people in it.
I picked up the picture frame to study the photo for a moment.
When I saw it up close, my eyes widened.
One of the people in the photo was undoubtedly Harm smiling in a weird way and the other girl looked exactly like Secret.
"Is this your room?"I questioned and glanced at Secret. "Are you actually living with this psycho?"
"Secret."the girl repeated.
"Secret."I repeated sarcastically and tossed the photo frame in the pink bed. "Right."
Zatanna suddenly pulled me to the side and the two of us ducked just past the door, mere moments before Harm rushed in and bolted towards the illusion of us that were crouching in front of the chairs.
While the psychopathic super villain was distracted, me and Zatanna ran out into the hall and the other bedroom, freeing Artemis and booking it just as Harm realized that he had been tricked.
As the three of us ran down the stairs, Secret reappeared and started moving around so fast as Artemis instantly pointed her crossbow at the pale girl.
"Wait!"Zatanna protested.
"Zatanna, Jay, she's his partner!"Artemis argued.
"Then why did she free us in the first place?"I asked.
"I don't know."Artemis commented as she used her fingers as quotation marks. "Secret."
Suddenly the sound of crackling that usually accompanied one of Harm's lightning sword blasts came from behind us.
Me, Artemis and Zatanna turned around to see Harm standing on the landing just above him, sword already glowing as it powered up.
"Look out!"Zatanna protested.
Then the blast hit the stairs above us and threw us forward onto the floor before blasting us through the floor and into the kitchen below.
An idea came to my mind when I saw an stovetop oven nearby causing me to open it.
"Jay, what are you-"Artemis started.
"Do you still have an explosive arrow?"I asked.
"Yeah."Artemis responded. "Why?"
"Old house...gas stove...explosion."I admitted, gesturing to the oven.
Zatanna and Artemis immediately realised what I meant before we rushed out of the kitchen as Harm came down.
Artemis sent an arrow towards Harm and ran off when he caught it.
Then...
BANG!
A cloud of smoke and fire erupted in the old building as me, Artemis and Zatanna escaped to the bottom of the house.
Man, Wally was right.
I definitely know how to bring a house down.
As Artemis and Zatanna threw open the cellar doors, I looked at the area we were in.
It seemed the three of us were in the tiny backyard of the damaged house and front of us laid a grave.
Slowly walking forward, I knelt in front of the flattened dirt and read the headstone that was nothing more than a wooden board with words carved into it.
"Greta Hayes..."I read quietly. "Beloved sister."
Secret's form suddenly emerged from the grave causing me to get startled as a realisation came to me.
Secr-Greta was a ghost.
Not a living person.
"This is your grave."I stated. "This is your secret. This is you."
"A ghost."Artemis commented. "A real ghost."
I stood up as Zatanna looked at Greta.
"How did you die?"Zatanna asked.
Greta gently held out her hands, just as a picture of a blade appeared in the air above them.
A dagger.
I immediately recognised this dagger and so did both Artemis and Zatanna.
This was Harm's dagger.
"Harm's dagger."Artemis admitted.
I paled in horror.
Greta Hayes was Harm's sister and was killed by her older brother years ago.
I quickly covered my mouth from vomiting after learning the horrifying truth.
Suddenly the door behind the four of us exploded, signifying that Harm had just arrived and found us.
"They defile Harm's holy place!"Harm growled.
"We defiled it?"Artemis snapped and pointed towards Secret's grave. "You did this! To your own sister!"
Harm tilted his head to the side, looking at the young heroes from the corner of his eye, and smiled.
"You're happy about that?!"I shouted with a glare. "And you had the guts to write 'beloved' on her headstone?"
"Not guts."Harm retorted simply. "Truth. She was the only thing Harm ever loved. That's why she had to go. Harm's heart had to be pure."
Suddenly Harm's face turned to a look of surprise and glancing sparingly over my shoulder and I saw that Greta had appeared above her grave again.
"Ah."Harm sneered, unaffected by the sudden ghost appearance of his dead sister. "It cast another illusion spell."
"Except I didn't speak."Zatanna replied after she and Artemis and turned to see Greta as well. "Harm knows it can't cast a spell without speaking."
Greta walked between me and Artemis, moving closer to her brother which caused the psychopath to lose it.
"You asked how we found this place?"Artemis asked as she lowered her crossbow the smallest smidge. "Face it, Harm. Your secret's out."
"No!"Harm denied in response and held his sword straight out from his body as the blade starting to spark again. "Harm's heart is pure! Harm's not sorry! I'm not!"
Greta said nothing and instead only walked forward until Harm's sword went right through the base of her neck, but there was no visible damage since she was a ghost.
Then Greta reached up and into Harm's chest, closing her hand around a small glowing thing that looked like an orange orb and then took it out.
Harm fell to the ground in shock, but he was up on his feet again in time to see the orange ball of evil magic disappear in Greta's hand.
The psychopathic supervillain tried to use the sword to slice through Greta, but it didn't work and instead, the sword stuck fast into the ground, sheathing itself again and falling to the cobblestones.
When Harm knew he couldn't pick up the sword, he brought his attention to me, Artemis and Zatanna again.
"Tch, I don't need the sword."Harm scoffed.
Harm used his dagger, Harm tried to attack Greta, but he went right through her and found himself face to face with Artemis, who slammed her foot into his wrist and knocked the dagger to the ground.
"So unfocused!"Artemis scowled. "It can't fight us while fighting itself!"
I ducked easily under Harm's fist and slammed my fist into his abdomen before kicking him to the ground.
"I will never understand murderers."I retorted in disgust.
"Egnahc sehtolc otni sgnidnib."Zatanna chanted slowly.
Once Zatanna said her spell, Harm's jacket wrapped around him as if it were the bindings of a mummy and then he was down for the count.
Now that the fight was over, Greta walked back to her grave and stood on top of the dirt.
"We'll make sure you receive a proper burial."I assured with a gentle smile. "We won't forget you, Greta."
"Secret."Greta responded.
After saying that word one more time, Greta sunk back into the grave and disappeared.

I looked at Artemis as the blonde haired girl quickly muted her mouth to prevent what she was going to say.
"Your what? Artemis, you can talk to me and Jay."Zatanna assured and gestured to Greta's grave. "Secrets don't stay buried. Obviously. It's better to bring them into the light."
"I don't have any secrets."Artemis answered.
Then the sound of police sirens caught my attention causing me to look at my friends.
"Cops are on the way."I declared. "And I definitely don't want to get arrested."
"Well, we did blow up the kitchen."Zatanna commented.
"Guys, look."Artemis instructed.
Artemis showed me and Zatanna that right across the street was the magic store Abel's House of Secrets with a broken neon sign leaving only the word 'Secret' highlighted.
"Must've been the last thing that Greta ever saw."Artemis stated.
Me, Zatanna and Artemis left the damaged house, just as the police arrived to arrest Harm for good.
But it really sickened me to know that there are psychopaths in this world that can kill even their own siblings.
Suddenly my phone let out a beeping sound and saw it was a message from Robin.
