Red turned his hat around, despite having faced Arceus once before the experience was always terrifying.
He walked forward towards the throne.
A majestic sound could be heard from inside that could only be described as an unsettling blissful noise faintly ringing in the massive temple Arceus resided in.
Red felt even more terrified, this was new. No such music had played last time he was here.
He ignored his pessimistic side telling him to run and kept walking forward.
After a moment, the noise became more musical in nature, having a consistent melody. Albeit an unsettling and strange melody, but a melody nonetheless.
As Red approached the temple, the melody grew deeper until it was an unsettling deep piano melody. Begging him to leave this place. Red knew something was wrong, so he HAD to investigate now
Red pushed on his hands on poke balls around his belt, trying his best to ignore the angry sound.
The music grew even angrier, becoming an unfathomably angry screech, begging and pleading with him to not make the same mistakes that they supposedly did.
Red persisted, turning his walk into a run towards the temple, only stopping when he grew tired close to the temple.
And then, worst of all as he walked up the first stairs. The music stopped. It was silence, complete silence spare his footsteps.
The temple was empty, strange considering last time he was here some mysterious light guided him into Arceus's resting place.
Red walked through the temple, admiring the sheer epic proportions of the building
He entered the grand chamber,
And he was horrified at what he saw.

"Oh, well this is a surprise, I wasn't expecting guests," Cyrus said as he saw Red approach.
"You… you should be dead!" Red yelled
"But here I am," Cyrus said with a shrug, "Also for a side note, who the heck are you?"
"Cyrus, take him seriously. He's a very powerful trainer, and a former friend of mine," Remi said
"What…. Remi?" Red couldn't believe his eyes
"In the flesh," Remi said sarcastically
"Traitor bastard," Red spat with venom
"Now now, play nice kids," Cyrus said to them
"Were you responsible for that noise?" Red said to Cyrus
"Yes," Cyrus spoke plainly
"Why!" Red shouted
"You see, our mutual friend decided this would be a perfect time to hibernate. Who knows where place while my friends and I try to Usurp his throne, but we need to take him out in order to Usurp his throne. So, my friend Reukra owner of the Azure Flute will play it until Arceus comes,"
"I'll stop you! I haven't ever failed, and I certainly won't start now! Not with the likes of you," Red yelled at Cyrus who laughed
Cyrus sighed, "I don't want to deal with this, Remi it seems like you have a past with this man, so I'm ordering you to neutralize him,"
Remi nodded and reached for her belt to release a pokemon, her heart pounding in fear at facing her old boss and best friend, and perhaps in an alternate reality, someone special.
Red almost seemed to smile at the challenge.
"You're welcome to try," Red said with a smile.
Remi hadn't seen him smile since before that day
—-
She remembered the day she first met him, Remi was sitting alone in her champion chambers. These were sealed until someone defeated all of Torren's Elite Four who were all stronger than champions of most other regions.
Another issue with the league is that currently there were only seven approved gyms due to the last gym leader taking an extended leave of absence. Her father, Adam, wouldn't be handing out badges anytime soon. Remi only managed to get that badge because of a technicality concerning Darkrai and an adventure across the dream world.
She was sitting, bored as usual waiting for a challenger. Until HE arrived
A purple portal flashed, and a young man stepped out.
"Who are you?" asked Remi
"Someone looking for strong trainers," The boy answered
—-
Red called out his first pokemon, sending out an Espeon who gave a happy chirp.
Remi called out a menacing black Haxorus that looked angry
"Wow, Fraxure, I mean Haxorus, been a while huh?" Red said sadly
Haxorus roared and glared at Espeon before stopping and looking at Red apologetically.
Red sighed, "No hard feelings Haxorus, but I gotta stop your trainer,"
Remi snapped at Haxorus, "Focus damn it! You're my pokemon!"
Red gave his first command, "Espeon, calm mind!"
"Haxorus, crunch!" Remi shouted
Haxorus raised large fangs and rushed Espeon, but Red's pokemon just leaped out of the way nonchalantly
"Espeon, calm mind once more!" Red commanded with authority
"Don't let Espeon get away again, Haxorus use crunch again!"
Red simply nodded and Espeon leaped out of the way, avoiding Haxorus's charge
"Agggggh! Stop dodging and fight damn it!" Remi shouted angrily
"Well if you insist, Espeon do Remi a favor and use a shadow ball!" Red ordered
Espeon quickly generated several large shadow orbs above her head and launched them straight at Haxorus
Haxorus was pelted by the orbs but looked to have sustained minimal damage from them
"Our turn now, Haxorus use hyper beam!" Remi yelled angrily
"Espeon, you know what to do," Red said
Haxorus launched a powerful jet of energy at Espeon, but the psychic type's eyes glowed and re-directed the beam of energy straight back at Haxorus.
Haxorus was sent back a bit by his own attack and looked worse for wear somehow.
"Espeon, use a shadow ball once more!"
"Haxorus, block with hyper beam!"
"Espeon, dodge!"
Espeon leapt over Haxorus's hyper beam and delivered a powerful shadow ball again straight at Haxorus's face
Haxorus screamed in pain and Espeon landed behind the dragon type ready to serve up even more attacks.
"Haxorus, use Iron Tail!" Remi yelled
Haxorus swung at Espeon who was caught off guard and was sent flying into the ground.
"Now, use crunch!"
Espeon quickly got off the ground and avoided yet another attack from Haxorus
"Psychic!" That was all Red said before Espeon lifted Haxorus off the ground and slammed the massive dragon straight into the ground
Haxorus didn't get back up.
Espeon had only taken one hit
Red was showing why he was considered the very best.
—-
She remembered the first time she saw him battle,
It was like listening to the rain while you're curled up under a warm blanket. You feel incredibly grateful that you aren't on the receiving end of the wrath of the trainer.
He was sparring against Gold who supposedly beat him once.
Remi had no clue how Gold managed such a feat.
Red's Pikachu took down Gold's entire team including his Typhlosion who was one of the most menacing pokemon Remi had ever laid eyes upon.
She considered herself strong, the best of the best! But watching those two boys battle, she realized that she had a long way to go until she was at that level.
But at least she'd have someone to guide her
Right?
—-
Remi recalled Haxorus, a poisonous look covering her face
Red looked at her sadly
"Don't give me that look, this isn't over yet!" Remi shouted
"Don't lose your cool Remi," Cyrus warned her
"Once I'm done with her, you're next," Red threatened Cyrus who just shrugged
"Alright Red, I'm going to turn this battle around! Rapidash, let's go!"
Red looked at Espeon who gave a soft chirp which caused Red to smile.
"Looks like you want to stay in huh? I'm proud of you Espeon!"
Remi's fiery horse stomped its hoof and rushed at Espeon who jumped up high above Rapidash
"Espeon, now!" Red shouted
Espeon leapt up in the air and launched a shadow ball straight at Rapidash
Rapidash avoided the attack and charged the psychic type again, coating itself in flames.
"Megahorn now!" Remi yelled
Red sighed and pointed at Espeon, "Double Team now!"
Espeon leapt up in the air, and what seemed like a thousand copies of itself emerged from thin air. Rapidash's horn stopped glowing and the horse looked up in awe of how many clones there were.
Cyrus nodded his head, impressed at Red's strategy and strength.
"Rapidash, fire blast! Find the real one!" Remi commanded
Rapidash fired a massive fiery cross towards Espeon's clones, many of which vanished. But not all of them.
"Again!" Remi shouted angrily, she seemed to be
Rapidash fired off another fire blast, but it was halted mid-air by Espeon who elected to stop it with Psychic.
Espeon's eyes glowed, and the fiery cross flew back straight at Rapidash, sending the horse flying back a few inches in pain. Red slightly turned his hat down, trying to hide some emotion.
"Espeon, let's end this," Red commanded and Espeon got the memo
"Rapidash, Giga Impact!"
Rapidash glowed purple and gold and coated itself in energy before rushing towards Espeon who tried to stop Rapidash's attack with a Psychic, but only managed to slow the horse before it slammed into Espeon.
Espeon was sent tumbling from the impact, but recovered quickly and counterattacked with a psychic attack, sending Rapidash towards the ground.
"Don't let up," Red said coolly as he looked at Remi, noticing the fear in her eyes.
Espeon's eyes glowed once more, lifting Rapidash off the ground and launching Remi's pokemon back down.
Rapidash tried to get back up but collapsed, fainted after the battle.
Remi looked like she was about to cry.

She remembered the day when she first noticed her feelings,
They were on yet another mission together, just the two of them against whatever obstacles were thrown at them. Together they stopped some alien pokemon invasion in Kanto.
And he seemed different from how she remembered him, his rare smiles sometimes made her day, his work with her was paying off, and for lack of better phrasing it, she found him hot.
At first, she tried to ignore her crush on him, but as time passed her feelings for Red only grew.
He possibly sent signals towards her, the occasional smile or friendly nod, but he was like that with most members of the timeless.
On one fateful assignment, Remi was alone with Red watching the sunset in Alola waiting for a rogue pokemon poacher.
She figured this would be as good of a place as any to confess her feelings.
—-
Remi reached for a poke ball with a black seal on top.
"You really want to go there?" Red asked
Remi just glared at him before calling out her ace, Delta Charizard
Red recalled his Espeon before she even had a chance to request to battle.
He reached for his belt and called out a Charizard of his own.
Cyrus's eyes widened, he had seen many a Charizard in his time, but this took the title of the largest and most intimidating one he had ever seen. It was tall, twice as large as a normal one, it was strong, with chipped claws and
Remi's "delta species" Charizard that was both dragon and ghost certainly was strong, but Cyrus doubted it would stop this abomination.
The two Charizard's faced off, and Remi's Delta Charizard made the first move.
—-
She remembered the day she betrayed him,
After he rejected her confession in Alola, she moved on, or at least for a while.
Red recruited a new girl named Leaf, some champion of Kanto from an alternate timeline.
She was everything Remi wasn't, she was patient, kind, supportive, and pretty.
Red and Leaf hit it off, and soon they were inseparable.
One day, Red assigned Remi and Leaf to a mission together, hoping they'd grow closer.
The mission should have been simple, taking care of some Neo Team Aqua grunts and stopping them from blowing up a dam.
They decided to split up to find the explosives hidden inside of the dam.
Leaf was knocked out by a grunt, and taken hostage.
Remi could have rescued her easily, any one of her team could kill every grunt before they could even pull the trigger.
But, jealousy took the better of her, and she didn't help Leaf. Instead, Remi let the grunts blow up the dam, killing Leaf.
She had betrayed Red, killing a member of the timeless. She knew she couldn't return, so she fled back to her home dimension after quickly taking her things from the timeless HQ.
She was questioned by May about where she was going, so she was forced to attack her. She would have killed her also if she wasn't stopped by Red.
Red just stared at Remi standing over a bloodied May and shook his head.
He reached for his belt, and she jumped into the portal she had opened.
She had faked her own death to join the timeless, so she couldn't head home.
She was a criminal now, a horrible person. So she decided to find the worst person she knew and join forces with him.
She found Reukra and he gave her a look that haunted her to this day.
He just motioned for her to take a seat next to him, and she obliged
She was officially a villain now

Back at Timeless HQ,
The Ash-Gang were sitting around the couch, debating over who had the strongest team.
"I mean how can you deny it, Ash-Grenina is the best around!" XYZ Ash argued
"Mega Lucario, G Max Gengar, and Z move Pikachu, you can't beat that," JN Ash countered
"I have a legendary and a mythical along with Z moves," Alola-Ash replied
"I have an angry ape," Sinnoh-Ash said with a shrug
"Boys, settle down! We have an issue," May said, pointing towards a screen.
There was a large flashing notification on the screen

A loud slam could be heard as every door closed and sealed shut
Nate looked up, "Selene and I will find this intruder, everyone else stay put,"
The Ash-Gang only hoped this would all blow over
