Chapter 4: From A Future Friend's Point Of View
Sakura shivered in fear in the corner of her own room. She knew it was too late to go to the shelter. Not to mention even thinking about looking outside. What if the monster saw her? All she could do now is stay put and pray. Hope that the monster didn't hit her apartment. Maybe everything would work out and she could see her brother Toji again. Though her thought process was quickly changed from hope to panic once the battle outside really kicked off.
The ground rumbled, gunfire and what sounded like massive beings punching each other rang out. Whatever was happening outside, it didn't sound good. So she stayed put, not moving a muscle. Not even breathing that much, she was so scared. Curled up like a wounded animal. All she wanted was everything to be over.
Then, silence, before she even knew it, the sounds of war outside stopped. As she started to get up, but then hurriedly scampered back into the corner when she heard the sounds of screeching coming from the speakers. Only to become incredibly confused, when a boy started to play a song on his guitar. His singing voice was bad, which kinda made the little girl giggle. She almost thought about standing up to look out the window. Though the sound of loud footsteps of the monster outside growing closer kept her staying still.
She sat there, curled up in the corner. The monster sounded like it was right next to the building. Sakura thought that she was going to die. Then, she noticed that the noise surrounding her was becoming quieter. She looked around and noticed there was a white glowing see-through wall surrounding her. The girl thought for a moment that this was her imagination. But when she reached out she saw her hand go through it. Seeing the white light reflect off her skin. She sat there in quiet amazement.
The wall seemed to make the sound softer. It was a good thing too, because soon the boy said something that provoked the monster. Making it scream and break the window in her room. Glass flew everywhere, but thanks to where she was sitting. None of the glass hit her. The sound of the monster was still loud, but all she had to do was cover her ears. Then, the boy spoke up again and strummed a chord on his guitar so loud. That it made the building shake. Sakura was terrified, but thankful that the shield was here. If it weren't, she'd probably never have been able to hear again.
The girl's jaw dropped when the boy clearly swore. Though she kinda laughed, because she knew he was talking about the monster. Which probably went deaf after hearing that guitar. Then despite the shield muffling the sounds outside. The boy played a song that managed to be listenable through the barrier around her. Allowing her to listen to the song clearly. Shame she didn't fully understand English yet, because it had a nice groove to it.
Meanwhile, miles away on the hillside of Tokyo-3. An increasingly worried Toji looked on in pure disbelief. He had snuck out of the shelter when the music started playing. Confusing everyone in there and giving him the perfect chance to make a run for it. He couldn't stand the thought of his sister, Sakura, being left behind at their home. Especially when a Kaiju was stomping through town.
He was hesitant to go outside when the ground continually rumbled. There were clear signs that the battle was heating up. And he didn't want to die and leave his sister without a caretaker. Well, she would have her Dad, but what good was he? Now with the music playing, he needed to see what was happening. He got up just in time to see the angel go flying. The sound was so loud and forceful that it knocked Toji back as well.
When he got back up, he laughed at the taunt that the boy playing music did at the angel. Only for him to shut up in quiet amazement at what he was seeing. As the boy started playing the first few chords of Santeria. Giant American cowboys came out from behind the skyscrapers. They were dressed in classic old west clothing. And they made their way to a certain building, looking down at it. From what Toji could tell, that was the one that the boy playing guitar was on. Though for all he knew, this could all be a dream after he got knocked out. Especially sense…..
'Wait? Is that my apartment building?' Toji wondered.
Before he could really confirm that thought. The giant cowboys nodded, and the boy broke out into song.
"I don't practice Santeria. I ain't got no crystal ball." Shinji started to sing again, his voice was a little better than before. But it was still off key here and there.
Behind the giant cowboys came giant horses. Much like the cowboys, they seemed to appear out of thin air. The two jumped on them, and rode off in the direction of the Angel. That's when Toji noticed that the horses and cowboys didn't make too much noise. Sure you could hear their boots hitting the ground, but unlike the Angel. Their footsteps didn't make the ground shake, nor did they seem to leave footprints.
"Well, I had a million dollars but I, I'd spend it all."
The sky then started to rain with money. Toji was stunned at first, but he realized that it was an illusion when he tried to grab a dollar. The cowboys managed to grab some of it though and they shoved it in their pockets.
They then started circling the Angel. Stomping around it on their horses to the beat of the music.
"If I could find that Heina, and that Sancho that she's found. Well, I'd pop a cap in Sancho and I'd slap her down."
When Sachiel tried to stand up, one cowboy shot it with his gun. Which mimicked the same laser shot that Sachiel shot before. Sending it flying closer to Tokyo. When Sachiel landed, it was run over by the other cowboy's horse. The horse didn't leave any marks on the ground, nor crush any house, but it sure did leave marks on Sachiel's back.
"What I really wanna know, mah baby, mmmm…What I really wanna say I can't define. Well, it's love, that I need. Oh…."
The cowboys then abruptly faded away. Literally dematerializing, along with their horses into a strange orange dust. They sailed in the air for a second, but then began to surround the fallen Evangelion.
"My soul will have to wait till I get back, to find a Heina of my own. Daddy's gonna love one and all."
Then, the dust seemed to settle on Eva. Transforming it into a beautiful Japanese woman in a blue western style dress. Who got up and danced her way over to the Angel. A humble smile on her face the entire time.
"I feel the break, feel the break, feel the break and I gotta live it up. Oh, yeah, uh huh."
Sachiel was about to try and get up, only for the women to start dancing on top of it. The sharp ends of her boot heels digging into the Angel's skin.
"Well, I swear that I. What I really wanna know, ah baby. What I really wanna say I can't define, got love make it go. My soul will have to….."
Shinji then broke out into a solo. The women currently dancing on top off and maiming the Angel, then skipped off into the hills. She skipped over to Rei's entry plug and picked it up. She then started in the direction of the hills that Toji was standing on, but then started to trip. Her smile faded and looked back to the building Shinji was playing on. Shinji was trying to improvise a guitar solo, but was failing.
The lady started to fail and gained an incredibly worried look. Shinji recovered though, to the best of his ability, and nervously went back to singing. The lady took this, and started running towards her destination.
"Oh…. What I really wanna say, mah baby. What I really wanna say is I've got mine, and I'll make it, oh yes I'm coming up."
The giant lady ran right up to Toji, who was frozen in place. As a massive woman was staring down right at him. She placed the capsule in front of him. The last thing she did was point to the inside of the capsule. Then, she ran off, as the song was ending.
"Tell Sanchito that if he knows what is good for him he best go run and hide. Daddy's got a new Forty-Five. And I won't think twice to stick that barrel straight down Sancho's throat.
Believe me when I say that I got somethin' for his punk ass."
Sachiel tried to rise again, even getting as far as looking Shinji in the eye. Though its facial skull was nearly blown off, by the lady with a new .45 gun. The lady looked like she was tired, but she was happy she got there in time.
She skipped over to the Angel that was right next to Shinji's building.
"What I really wanna know, mah baby. Oh, what I really wanna say is there's just one, way back, and I'll make it, yeah. My soul will have to wait, yeah, yeah, yeah."
The lady looked to Shinji, as the two shared happy looks with each other. The lady then looked back to the Angel and aimed her gun. Though right as she was about to fire it. Shinji ended the song too early, and the gun along with the lady disappeared. In its place was EVA-Unit 01. Which was still in a massively damaged state, though not as bad as before.
The gun was the pellet rifle from earlier. Though it was worse for wear, as it basically disintegrated after the orange dust from before, started to fall off and fade away. When EVA was fully revealed, it stood still for a minute and fell over. Right next to the mangled, but still alive Sachial.
Back at the hill side, right after the lady ran off. Toji watched her run, while slowly approaching the entry plug. He looked inside and saw his classmate, Rei Ayanami, lying inside in a painful miserable state.
"Toji!"
The boy looked up to his close friend Kensuke running up to him.
"I'm…I'm not even going to ask if you saw that. Because it came right up to you. Holy crap! That was so unreal! Best part is…I caught it all on camera."
Kensuke ran up and looked inside the entry plug.
"Woah, that's Rei from our class!"
"Thank you, Captain Obvious!" Toji responded. "Can you give me a hand!? And don't record this you creep."
"Certainly, and how dare you consider me as someone like that."
The two were as gentle as they could be when picking Rei up. She groaned in pain a couple times, but was too numb and tired to really react to what was happening. Though every now and again, she would moan out the name:
"Shinji" or "Commander".
The two boys and Rei were getting close to the bunker door. It was then that they noticed someone else coming out of it. Their all too familiar class president, Hikari, who correctly predicted them sneaking outside.
"Toji! Kensuke! What are you doing!?" she yelled at them. Her eyes shifted between the boys and the bluenet they were carrying.
"I'm sorry! It was a good thing I was here though. Long story short, Rei is a robot pilot." Toji responded.
"I can see that, just get her inside. And watch those hands. That suit isn't doing her any favors with you two around."
"Hey, stop accusing me of being a perv!" Kensuke shouted.
Though before the four kids could get inside. The ground rumbled from the EVA falling down. Kensuke and Toji didn't lose their balance. They couldn't afford to with Rei in their hands. Though Hikari fell down, while her hand was on the bunker door. As she fell, she pushed the door closed.
CLANK
Hikari, Kensuke and Toji all looked at the door with the same look of fear and confusion. Only for the boys to turn to frustration.
"WHAT THE FUCK, HIKARI!?"
Normally she would degrade them for their use of bad language. Though here, she could excuse it.
"I'm sorry, I'm so unbelievably sorry. I didn't see that coming." Hikari said, while pointing towards the EVA.
"What?" Rei asked wearily.
The three other kids noticed this, and decided on focusing on helping her out. It would keep their minds off their inevitable demise.
"Quick, lie her down on the grass." Hikari said.
"You don't have to tell me that!" Toji shouted. Still a little sore from the closed door. Though he regretted it a bit afterwards. Because the fear and tears in Hikari's eyes only made him feel worse. After that, Hikari backed away as Kensuke and Toji put Rei down on the ground. It was around this time that Rei started to gain consciousness.
"It looks like she has a few broken bones. Should we make her a cast for her arm?" Kensuke asked.
"With what?" Toji responded.
"Our shirts, what else? You're wearing a jacket." Kensuke pulled on said jacket.
"Right, um, Hikari you're really good at tying knots right?" Toji asked her.
Kensuke laughed under his breath.
"Ha, tying the knot."
"SHUT UP!" Toji and Hikari both shouted.
"Yeah, I can do that. Hold her arm."
The three teens worked as quickly as they could on the EVA pilot. Who opened her eyes on the three of them looming over her like nurses.
"What…happened?" Rei asked.
"Um, I don't entirely know." Toji said.
"Yeah, it's best if you just look over there." Kensuke said, holding Rei's head up for her to see over the horizon. Where the EVA had just fallen.
Rei could sense Shinji in the distance. Part of Rei's powers was to make out how much energy people had. Her eyes widened, as a magnificent aura of colors and light that only she could see surrounded the third child.
Hikari noticed this and asked her:
"Do you see something?"
Rei remained silent, simply looking on in awe.
Shinji watched the EVA fall, its weight making the ground shake. He walked to the edge of the skyscraper, looking down at the messed up states of his robotic mother. Along with the Angel that was slowly healing, though it would definitely take awhile for it to heal from that. While looking at it, he started to get dizzy.
"Oh…shit."
Shinji fell backwards and landed on the concrete roof. His headache was getting worse, and because of that. His illusions were fading, along with his instruments. He also noticed the barrier surrounding the girl downstairs was now gone. If he didn't put that up again, she would probably go deaf. So, he plucked a single note on his guitar. Sending another radar wave through the building.
That's when he noticed that the girl was moving. Shinji strummed again, and saw her moving up a staircase. It seemed that she was heading up to the roof.
'Why?' Shinji thought. 'She should be confused and staying in her room. What's gotten into her?'
No matter what he thought, she was still coming. So, he might as well make it easier for her to get up here. He strummed his guitar to unlock the maintenance doors that lead up to where he was. After that, Shinji struggled to stand up again. He was incredibly dizzy, so he settled for lying up against the wall next to the exit.
He waited there for a little bit, listening to the healing and groaning of Sachiel down below.
"You and me both." he said, mockingly.
The exit door opened, and out came a nine year old girl. Who walked completely past Shinji, and looked around for him. Even though he was right behind her.
"Turn around." Shinji said with a slight smile on his face.
She turned around to look at Shinji. And her eyes widened, as she thought he was injured.
"Oh my God! Are you alright!?" she ran to his side, worriedly.
"I'm fine. I just got a bad headache."
"Really? In that case, let me see if I can get you some pain killers."
Shinji grabbed her arm before she could run off.
"No, that will take too long. If you can, find a first aid kit and bring it up here."
"Oh, in that case."
The girl walked back inside, and a second later she came out with one.
"Good, thank you so much."
"You're welcome, but I gotta ask. What does a first aid kit have that deals with headaches?"
Shinji smirked at her while he opened the kit up. He pulled out a breakable ice pack and the wrap that's usually used for wounds. He crushed a few of the ice packs and put them on his forehead.
"Hold them there please." Shinji asked the girl.
"No problem." she responded.
While she held the cooling ice packs. Shinji wrapped the cloth around his head to keep the ice packs in place. Once it was fully wrapped, Shinji put the cloth in a knot. Slowly, his burning headache started to subside.
"Oh, that feels so good."
"It must feel bad if it requires three ice packs."
"You have no idea kid. By the way, what's your name?"
"Sakura, what's yours?"
Shinji tensed up, because if this is who he thought it was. He would be in a pretty awkward situation.
"Sakura Suzuhara?" he nervously asked.
"Yeah, how did you know that?" she asked, a bit puzzled, but not too stunned by his knowledge.
"Let's just say, I know your brother."
"Oh, really? Do you go to the same school?"
"Again, let's just leave it at that I know your brother. If I even try to explain what's going on, your brain will explode. Just like mine if I use too much of this stuff."
Sakura couldn't help but look a bit disappointed. Though she did sympathize with his pain so she simply moved on.
"Alright, speaking of which. Are you a superhero? You're using powers and stuff to fight that monster. Have you killed it yet?"
Shinji sighed and responded with:
"I'm no hero, to call me a hero would be like calling me mentally stable. And as for the monster, he's roughed up but….." Shinji pointed to the edge of the roof. "Go see for yourself. But do not fall off!"
He made sure to emphasize that last part. He wasn't going to get his friend's sister injured again.
Sakura took up his offer, and slowly made her way over. When she looked down, she saw the half healed corpse of Sachiel. She was disgusted beyond belief, and then her skeleton nearly jumped out of her skin when the angel turned to look at her. Sakura screamed and ran back over to Shinji.
"It's still moving! Oh….oh god the bones." Sakura said, feeling sick.
Shinji stood up and hugged her.
"Do you need the bathroom?"
"No, but….ugh." Sakura shivered, the mangled corpse was engraved in her brain.
"Sorry about that, I thought it would be fully healed by now." Shinji walked over, keeping Sakura's hand in his to keep track of her.
When he looked down, he and Sachiel looked each other in the eye. The angel started to reach up towards the roof, but was too weak and far on the ground. Instead, it's claw scraped against the building. Sakura held onto Shinji as the building shook. Though Shinji didn't break eye contact.
"I see, you're too weak to fire your laser," he said while smirking. A plan then started to form in his mind.
"He can fire lasers?" Sakura asked, scared and confused.
"Yeah, but don't worry. I got a plan."
"Really? What is it? Are you going to use your powers?" Sakura said, her fear being replaced with excitement.
"Yes, illusions, and yes." Shinji said, while respawning his microphone and guitar. He also spawned a drum set.
"Illusions!? Cool! What kind of illusions? Are you going to create giant dragons!? Or demons, or maybe even movie monsters?"
Shinji smiled, and held up his guitar pick.
"Maybe…..and thanks for the ideas."
Before Shinji could start, however, Sachiel began to rise. Its massive figure blocked out the setting sun, casting a shadow on the building and the two children standing on its roof. Sakura screamed as she was now eye to eye with a being whose face was the skull of a bird. It's dead eyes staring into her soul. Though her line of vision was cut by Shinji, who stood in front of her.
Shielding her from whatever blame this thing was casting down upon them. Sachiel breathed and hissed at them, causing their clothing to blow in the wind. Shinji stood steadfast though, refusing to back down in terror from this thing's look. It helped him notice when Sachiel was about to roar and fire its laser beam. With two strums, Shinji created another barrier around Sakura. As well as sending Sachiel flying into the sky.
Sachiel spun around while flying in the air. At random, it fired its laser off in the direction of the kids in the hills. Thankfully, it didn't hit them, as it exploded a few miles above them. Yet the cross shaped explosion nearly did send them flying. That wasn't the end of it, as hot debris started to rain down. Thankfully, a barrier was put around them that blocked it. Not from Shinji, Rei had exposed her AT Field powers to her classmates.
She knew that Gendo would scold her for it. She knew that she could easily be replaced, but she couldn't in good conscience allow those who saved her to die. As Rei protected her friends, Sachiel flew further up into the sky. Until it eventually started to fall back down to Earth. Shinji then strummed his guitar again, causing the Angel to fall onto a massive white barrier that stretched over the horizon.
While the normal laws of physics would dictate that this white barrier would block out the sky. Yet, it was almost as if Sachiel had become 2D, laying on a line that seemed more like a ring around Earth. Eventually, Sachiel stood up, having fully healed from the fall that nearly broke its bones. Then, the ground started to shake, which appeared to those viewing this from the ground as a line vibrating similar to a noise measurement line.
This was confirmed by Sakura, who watched the line vibrate as Shinji adjusted his microphone. Then, the line vibrated more as Shinji tapped his mic with his finger. Causing the line to really shift its landscape. Almost causing Sachiel to lose its balance. Though Shinji sent it flying all over the place, when he started to speak.
"This next song is going to be an interesting one. You see, my powers not only give me the ability to create illusions. It also gives me a near limitless supply of music from a timeline that sadly never happened. One where the Second Impact never happened, and all our mothers are still alive."
The line vibrated and bounced Sachiel around. It found its footing on one of the ends of the line. Where it seemed that the line barely even moved.
"Ha, you think that part is safe? Oh my sweet lovecraftian alien monster, you're in a world that I control. I don't know if this will kill you, but it will give me time. Time to think, time to plan and most importantly time to breathe. Because you don't want to hear me scream."
Shinji then raised his guitar pick.
"This next song is more than just a song from a dead future. It's also a reflection of the women destined to haunt the rest of my days."
Shinji didn't bring his guitar pick down, instead he tapped his foot. Causing a drum beat that continued to make the line above shake. This time it was more spread out, as the vibration nearly reached Sachiel. Not only that, the same shape as the line over Tokyo-3 was now taking form all across the line. Which could be seen from nearly anywhere on Earth.
Then, when Shinji started playing his Guitar, the line made shapes that whipped the angel into the air. When Sacheil would try to break its fall, it would land on uneven ground. Nearly being crushed by the ever shifting landscape. The angel was being knocked away from Tokyo-3, then knocked back again.
Then, for the briefest moment, the line didn't react to music anymore. Sachiel took this moment to heal and stand back up. Only for Shinji to start singing, causing the line to form again.
"Have you got color in your cheeks? Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift, the type that sticks around like summat in your teeth?"
Shinji's singing voice had become more comfortable, and because of that, despite not being the best. It now at least sounded better.
"Are there some aces up your sleeves?" Shinji held the note on that last word, making the line vibrate even more. Making sure that the angel got lashed and bumped around by the vibration.
"Have you no idea that your in deep? I dreamt about you nearly every night this week. How many secrets can you keep? 'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow and I play it on repeat."
Shinji made sure to make the line bounce Sachiel back into the air. So that way, when the angel came down again. He could impale it on one of the spikes.
"Until I fall asleep. Spilling drinks on my Settee."
That last impalement really took the wind out of Sachiel. As the line went back to normal. Sachiel simply laid there, waiting to heal. Only for it to be knocked back, by another line that was colored blue.
Do I wanna know?
The voices of the unseen backup singers sounded ethereal. It seemed to calm all the people watching and listening to the things above them.
"If this feeling flows both ways."
Shinji joined back in, more moody now due to him recognizing the voices of the singers.
All of them sang better than him, all of them deserved better than him. They were the voices of his friends, they were Asuka, Rei, Kaworu, Misato, Kensuke, Toji and Hikari.
Sad to see you go.
His emotions started to build, giving him more power, but giving him an even worse headache. It didn't matter, Shinji needed to focus. With this, he would unleash absolute hell on his opponent.
"Was sort of hoping that you'd stay."
Baby, we both know.
"That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day."
Sachiel was located on a part of the line that wasn't vibrating as much. So, Shinji focused directly on where the angel was standing. It was there that the line shaped around Sachiel, not knocking it up in the air. Instead, it made for one singular smooth spot. Surrounded by white, blue, red and yellow vibrating lines.
"Crawling back to you."
Crawling back to you.
After Shinji sang that, the massive foot of a woman came down and crushed Sachiel. She then unknowingly kicked it forward, revealing her to be wearing a plug suit. Though due to the black and white color palette, it was hard to tell who she was supposed to represent. Though she did have long hair.
"Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? 'Cause I always do."
'Cause I always do.
She then stopped, letting a double bladed sword pass beneath her legs. It was then grabbed by a mass produced EVA, which then proceeded to stab Sachiel as it rolled past it. Along with other mass produced EVAs which did the same thing. Sachiel was absolutely diced up by the end.
"Maybe I'm too busy,"
Maybe I'm too busy,
"being yours to fall for somebody new."
The last remnant of Sachiel was then run over by a massive tire. Which was stopped by another lady with long hair, in a long dress and a jacket. Who then proceeded to smoke, which formed a new line. One that Sachiel wasn't on anymore.
"Now I've thought it through. Crawling back to you."
Now I've thought it through. Crawling back to you.
No one could tell where Sachiel was aside from Shinji. Who could feel the crushed remains still moving around. Sachiel had somehow survived that. Which didn't surprise Shinji as much as it should have. He knew that these were just illusions, simulations of what could be. The only one with any real power was him. And even at his max strength with the music boosting physical prowess. It wouldn't be enough to kill Sachiel.
He needed to think of a better way, something to land the killing blow. Though right now, all he could do was keep the illusion going.
"So have you got the guts?"
As Shinji strummed his guitar. Different colored lines appeared, shooting lightning, ice, fire and earth into the air. It didn't matter if any of this actually hit Sachiel. All that mattered was keeping it down.
"Been wondering if your heart's still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts."
The line then quickly turned into a nice pair of legs. That then crossed and formed into a vertical line.
"Simmer down and pucker up."
An EVA ran by, rippling the line and making it form a pair of lips that made a kissing motion. Only to quickly go back to its normal vertical form.
"I'm sorry to interrupt. I'm just constantly on the cusp of trying to kiss you."
As soon as the backup singers queued in. The line split into four lines with different colors, being Red, Blue and Yellow. Each of them were following a different instrument. Whether it be the drums, guitar, bass or vocals.
"I don't know if you feel the same as I do."
The lines then turned into fingers. Which unparted from each other to reveal a naked woman. Who bent backwards, shoving her ass through the air. Only to bring it back and split into four different colors of herself. Except it wasn't really a woman, it was Kaworu in a plugsuit. Pure white and almost glowing, the other colored people were Asuka, Rei and Shinji. Though Shinji's color wasn't yellow anymore. His had changed to purple, to correlate with Asuka's red and Rei's blue.
The four pilots then straightened out, and turned back into horizontal lines. Vibrating to the sound of the beat.
"But we could be together if you wanted to."
The lines then seemed to merge into a checkered flag. Which was swung by what looked like a female NERV engineer. Followed by the EVAs starting to race.
Do I wanna know?
The line quickly formed back to normal again.
"If this feeling flows both ways?"
Sad to see you go.
The line then shaped into the form of naked women. Laying down and looking up into the sky. To Shinji, he knew that shape all too well. The black and white version of Misato kissed the sky, and reformed back into a normal line.
"Was sorta hoping that you'd stay."
Baby, we both know.
The line then shaped into Misato now leaning against her car. The car then roared silently, spitting out exhaust. Then again, forming back into the line.
"That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day."
The line formed one more time into Misato smoking a cigarette. Only for the line not to form again. When the smoke cleared, the visuals went insane. Depicting the EVAs running into battle on the backside of the 2nd Angel Lilith. Who laid out in a Christ-like position, only to be stepped on. Forming a battleground in the footprint below for tiny EVAs and Angels. It then zoomed inside the heads of EVAs. Showing the pilots inside screaming. Only to go into one of their mouths, showing a car engine running.
While all this happened, Shinji went crazy on his guitar. Improvising a solo that only seasoned veterans would be able to pull off. With the visuals reflecting off his eyes, Shinji did his best to translate his pain that he felt both physically and mentally. Into one giant explosion of sight and sound.
"Crawling back to you."
Crawling back to you.
"Ever thought of calling when you've had a few."
You've had a few.
"'Cause I always do."
'Cause I always do.
"Maybe I'm too busy,"
Maybe I'm too busy,
"Being yours to fall for somebody new. Now I've thought it through. Crawling back to you."
Shinji closed his eyes, letting only his mind see the visuals. It backfired, because this only made his headache worse than it already was. Though it did make the visuals in the sky more clear and detailed. The engine shot out a fat woman that collided with an EVA riding the wings of the 15th Angel. Which was then dewinged in a brutal and bloody fashion. Only to crap out brains that then flew into the back of the head of another EVA. Which then ran off shooting a gun.
When the EVA was far into the distance. It exploded and the resulting wavelengths formed an image of Misato holding up a tire. Which then connected to a car, to drive off and spin around an amp. It then got electrocuted by two massive plugs which exploded the thing. The wavelengths then formed the swimsuit of what Shinji recognized as Asuka. Who then dove into water, sending Sachiel. Now fully reformed, to be eaten up by a car with a mouth. Only for the car to drive off into a fish's mouth. Then two cars collided, and the racers inside them kissed. It was too quick to process who they were, but Shinji knew it was Misato and Kaji.
All of this happened in color, though each one had more of a theme to each. One would be red, the other would be yellow, or blue, green, etc. Only for it all to end horrific depictions of an actual battle. With soldiers and NERV employees dying in horrific ways. Such as being lit on fire, getting their heads blown off, or crushed by something. These parts happened in black and white.
Despite his pain, Shinji just kept on playing. Singing his heart and out and shredding it on guitar. It certainly helped that the lyrics reflected who he was.
Do I wanna know?
"If this feeling flows both ways?"
Sad to see you go.
"Was sort of hoping that you'd stay."
Baby, we both know.
"That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day."
Do I wanna know?
"Too busy being yours to fall."
Sad to see you go.
"Ever thought of calling darling?"
Do I wanna know?
"Do you want me crawling back to you?"
Shinji fell to his knees, in a mixture of pain and immense feelings. He came out of his solo, strummed the last few notes, and like that he was done. Only to open his eyes and see that he really did nothing. As Sachiel then fell from the sky onto the ground. Unscratched and still a threat, but after it hit the ground. It didn't get up, it simply laid there.
Now, Shinji could tell that he had bought himself some time. He just needed to recover and wait for this headache to go away. Then he'd be able to hit Sachiel with a plan he came up with while watching the visuals. Only for Shinji to see one last thing before he passed out. Blood dripped down face, which he then felt and found that it was coming from his forehead.
"Shit." Shinji said.
He then fell over onto the hard cement. Making the head wound bleed even more.
Phew! That took a while, sorry about that. I've been incredibly busy with college lately. So, I haven't had time to focus on this, even though this story is constantly playing out in the back of mind. Whenever I listen to some of my favorite songs.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed this. I don't have time to proofread this one like I do with most of my stories. So if there are more typos than usual, or sentences don't flow properly. Let me know and I'll fix them in due time. Also, don't be afraid to criticize me in the review section.
