He leaned back and gripped her hand as her eyes began to flutter open. Clary stared at the ceiling for a moment before looking directly at Jace.

J-"Their she is."

Jace smiled at Clary before she pulled him back down to join their lips again. After a few moments, Jace pulled back allowing Clary to sit up slowly trying not to disturb Celine. Once Clary was comfortable, she looked over at her sleeping daughter next to her and brushed a few strands of hair out of her eyes.

J-"Apparently she haven't left your side."

C-"She's my little shadow, follows me everywhere, needs to know where I am constantly. It's probably because she knows that not everything is as it should be."

Clary continued to look at Celine, her right hand was holding Celine's hand while her left hand was sandwiched between Jace's hands.

C-"You what to know something?"

Clary looked at Jace who just raised his eyebrows at her.

C-"I almost died giving birth."

Clary felt Jace's hands tighten and heard his breathe halt before she continued speaking.

C-"Throughout my pregnancy, I wasn't well. We thought it was because of the whole memory loss thing, but about 6 months in, I woke up screaming in the middle of the night. I had awful pain in my stomach and back. Lilith and Johnathan came running into the room, Lilith sent Johnathan to go and get the doctor and it wasn't until we pulled the covers back on the bed did we realise that I was bleeding. When the doctors came rushing in they said that my entire womb was coming out, I was bleeding to death while in labour. I don't remember a lot after that, Lilith has filled in the gaps. Apparently the doctors and a warlock managed to save my uterus but Celine had to come out. Lilith said that she was blue when she came out. Thankfully due to the angel blood in her system from us, it made her stronger than any mundane baby."

Clary stopped talking for a moment as a few tears ran down her face.

J-"And what about you?"

C-"Apparently, I was in a coma for 3 days, it was touch and go for a while, they weren't sure I was going to wake up. Then one day I did. I remember looking around the room and finding Lilith sat in a chair next to the bed with Celine in her Moses basket next to her. Everyone was ecstatic when I woke up. Lilith explained that due to all the stress I was under with the memory loss and the transition to Edom, my body just gave up."

J-"I take it Johnathan didn't help matters?"

Clary sighed and thought about what she was going to say for a moment.

C-"No, he didn't. No matter how many time Lilith told him or doctors told him, he wouldn't listen. Eventually he learned not to go too far otherwise my body would just stop working."

Jace remained silent allowing Clary to continue talking

C-"This plan is complicated and complex Jace, everything needs to be done meticulously otherwise people will entwined of what we're doing and then it can all go wrong. Which is why it's time for stage two of our plan."

Clary looked at Jace who raised his eyebrows at her, silently asking her what stage two is.

C-"You are going to take Celine with you back to Earth."

Jace's eyes widened and Clary took a deep breath before explaining.

C-"We need her safe and the only place she will be safe is with you guys. I spoke with her yesterday and she knows most of the plan, so she knows she's going to be without me for a while. As for Johnathan, he thinks that it's in our best interests if she goes with you."

J-"And what about you?"

C-"Me and Lilith are going to continue our plan down here and hopefully it should be over soon, Lilith will come and get you all when you are needed. Just I need you to promise me one thing."

J-"Anything."

C-"If things don't go according to plan, be happy and protect her with everything."

J-"I'll protect you both with everything I have."

C-"I know but their is still a lot you don't know just promise me you'll be careful."

J-"I promise."

Clary nodded her head and smiled before she felt Jace's arms wrap around her in a hug.

The Next Day

Lilith and Jace were talking while Clary was talking to Celine.

C-"Remember you do whatever daddy and the others tell you okay?"

Celine nodded her head.

C-"And you know what you can't tell them don't you?"

CE-"Yes mommy."

C-"Good girl. You got everything?"

Celine nodded before looking over as Lilith called Clary's name.

L-"Clary."

Clary looked over and nodded before looking back at her daughter.

C-"I love you."

CE-"Forever."

The mother and daughter hug before Celine runs over to Lilith and Jace, Clary watches and nods her head at Jace and Lilith before Lilith leads the duo out of the room. Clary wipes a few tears away, that roll down her cheeks before taking a deep breathe and getting back to work.
