Disclaimer: I own nothing but some of the plot.

THE NEXT MONTH WAS SPENT CALMING HOLLY DOWN so that she wouldn't blow up when she saw Cedric/Edward at school for the first time and sprucing up the house.

Neville would be the one to work in the garden (with occasional help from Holly and Luna), pulling the weeds, mowing the lawn, and removing and planting some flowers and herbs.

Inside, Luna and Holly set up furniture and Kreacher managed the kitchen. The House-Elf was, unsurprisingly, the first one to finish with a room. It was a good thing everything in the kitchen was set up in a day, even if that only happened because everyone was using magic to make everything go faster.

Which was what led to Holly and Luna trekking to the nearest supermarket to shop for groceries. Sure, they had a car—two cars, actually—but Luna insisted on walking and admiring the greenery of Forks because she'd been cooped up, unpacking for too long.

Holly had to admit that the long walk was worth it. Mossy greeness covered the trees and rocks, as well as most of the trail they were on, and the sky was barely visible through the grey clouds. Forget the sun, it must have been a rare sighting.

Her thoughts drifted back to him. Why's he choose such a gray place? She recalled a time when he told her that if he were to live anywhere for the rest of his life it would be one of the sunniest places on Earth. He'd also said that if he were to live anywhere, she'd have to be there too, but wasn't relevant.

The supermarket was small, but it held the sufficient needs for all the girls required. Holly rubbed her hands together eagerly.

"Okay, what do we need?"

"Everything," said Luna, laughing.

They grabbed two trolleys and started at the dairy section with milk, eggs, and yogurt. However, Holly realized that this was going to take too long and she wanted to get back to the book she had been reading before Luna dragged her out of the house.

"Hey, Luna, how about we split up?" suggested Holly. "You go to the bakery aisle and I'll go get the canned stuff. Here, I'll split the list."

Now Holly had the top part of the list and Luna the bottom.

Holly: Cereal, dry goods, canned goods, frozen foods, and cleaning products.

Luna: Baking goods, condiments, candy and snacks, bread, drinks, and nuts.

"Meet you back here in twenty minutes?"

"Sure."

They split up. Holly had some trouble at the start—she had no idea which kind of cereal was good for them, until ultimately deciding on three types: Frosted Flakes, Coco Pops, and Lucky Charms.

"Luna will love this," she snorted, putting the last one in her trolley.

She moved onto dry goods, heaving two bags of rice and about fifteen packets of two-minute noodles. Holly was not oblivious to the looks she was getting from the other shoppers. Clearly Forks was a small town and word of the new young arrivals from England had spread. She didn't even try to shrink back as she had done when she was eleven. She was a young adult now, a woman who'd seen the worst and best of the best.

Nobody bothered to actually talk to her, just stare and whisper, so no different from what it was in England, even the scar-staring.

Obviously, she stocked out on the candy and snacks, getting a little of everything. With the three of them and their appetites, it would be gone by Halloween.

A tap on her shoulder made her turn around and face a young woman with dark hair that reached a bit below her shoulders on lovely soft curls. She was extremely pale, but had the kind of motherly face that Holly had imagined her mother had when she was a baby.

"Hello, excuse me, but I was wondering if you were new here," she said. "I haven't seen you around."

"Actually, yeah, we are," Holly said, slightly surprised that someone came up to her.

"We?"

"Oh, my friends and I. One of them—Luna—is somewhere else in the store, probably looking for nuts."

At the woman's confused look, Holly laughed and added, "The fridge in our house is practically "naked" or so Luna said."

Esme giggled. "I see. And your other friend?"

"Luna's boyfriend. And he's been working on the garden for a whole month. We keep telling him it's fine, but he still thinks it needs work."

"Um, if you don't mind me saying so, do you all live without adults?"

"Actually, I'm eighteen and so is Neville, my friend whose back at our cottage, it was left over by some of my mother's relatives who died out," Holly explained. "Luna's sixteen, but she's gonna be starting as a junior. Neville and I are gonna be seniors."

"Oh, I have some kids in high school as well," she said.

"Oh, really?" Holly did a double take. "I thought…well, you looked so young—I didn't expect you to be a mother of highschool student...um, what's your name?"

"Oh, I'm sorry," she apologized. "It's Esme. Esme Cullen."

Holly's hand, which was reaching for another box of chocolate chip cookies, froze mid-way. "Um…any relation to Edward Cullen?"

Esme's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Yes…why?"

Holly quickly composed herself and feigned innocence. "Oh, my friends and I got a visit from the Chief of Police, Charlie Swan, and he mentioned a boy named Edward Cullen dating his daughter. Bella Swan, was it?"

The female vampire relaxed. "Oh, I see. Well, yes, I'm Edward's adoptive mother, along with his sister, Alice, and brother, Emmett, and my twin niece and nephew, Jasper and Rosalie. They'd be about your age, I'm assuming."

"I'd love to meet them sometime," Holly smiled. "Maybe I'll see them at school?"

"Maybe," Esme said. "Well, I should get going. I hope to meet you again, um…"

"Holly Potter," said Holly, writing down her phone number. "I like you—you're the first person to actually talk to me, and not just because I'm weird. Call me sometime."

Esme took the note graciously. She nodded and waved as she went off to get the rest of the things she had come for. Holly collected the rest of the items on her inventory with a smile, barely bothered with the increase of gawking by all the people who had witnessed the conversation between Esme and her.

She met Luna at the checkout center and paid for everything, pushing both trolleys outside until they realized that they'd forgotten to bring a car. Holly slapped her forehead at her own idiocy.

"Oh, how could we have forgotten!" she groaned, slamming her already bruised forehead on the trolley handle.

Luna patted her friend's arm comfortingly. "I'm sure everything'll be fine. I'll just call Neville and...oh, no..."

"Oh, no? Oh, no?" repeated Holly incredulously. "What now?"

"I left my phone at home," Luna whispered, horrified.

Holly groaned again. "Why? Why is it always us?"

Then came their saving grace.

"Holly? Are you alright?" a familiar female came from behind them.

Holly whipped around faster than lightning. Even Esme seemed startled by how fast she'd moved, as she was a vampire.

"Esme!" Holly said, smiling feebly.

Luna was confused. "You know her, Holly?"

"Oh yeah," said Holly in sudden realization. "Esme, this is Luna, the friend I told you about. Luna, this is Esme. I met her when I was shopping for...stuff."

"You mean pilling nearly a quarter of the junk food in your cart," sniffed Esme, but the girls could see the humor in her eyes. "No wonder everyone was staring at you."

Luna threw her hands up in exasperation. "Seriously? You'd think that if all these people knew that we moved in recently, we'd be needing supplies."

"Ah, but you're forgetting, Luna," said Holly, playing along, "the entire town's collection of brain cells is very little. Er, no offense, Esme."

"None taken," Esme laughed. "You're not wrong either. But since you need help, I could offer you a ride."

"Would you?"

"Yes, just put your address in my GPS."

Esme helped the girls carry the grocery bags in. Holly was amazed and confused by her strength until she remembered that, along with super hearing and speed, vampires also had super strength. Not to mention super beauty. Holly couldn't imagine Cedric being any more beautiful than he had already been, but she certainly wouldn't be complaining.

"I hope you don't mind that I'm going to stop at the mall first," Esme said apologetically. "Alice's car broke down and I promised to pick her up."

"We don't mind," Holly assured her. "Besides, we'd love to meet Alice, right Luna?"

Luna caught the hint and nodded. "It'll be a pleasure, I'm sure."

When they reached the mall, a short girl with pixie hair was at the front, tapping her foot impatiently with three bags on each arm. She wore dark, yet stylish, clothes with a pretty raven hair clip in her hair. Her expression changed when she noticed Holly and Luna in the backseat wrestling grocery bags.

"Esme, who are they?" asked Alice tensely.

Luna gave her a faraway smile. "I'm Luna Lovegood and this is my friend, Holly Potter. Pleasure to meet you, Alice Cullen. You look like a pixie."

Alice blinked in confusion. "Um...thanks?"

Holly snorted. "Don't worry; it's a compliment."

"It is?" Alice asked dubiously.

"Yeah," Holly insisted. "What Luna means is that you're pretty, in a tiny-fairy kinda way."

Alice shook her head. "Esme, you sure do make some weird friends."

"Alice!" scolded Esme.

The pixie-haired girl didn't seem to feel very guilty of her bluntness. Instead, she slid in right next to Luna, who was in the middle seat and started conversation, her arms still piled up in her shopping bags.

"So, how long have you been in Forks?" she asked casually.

"We moved in about a month ago and that's about as long as our food supply from England lasted," Holly explained, "which brings me to how Luna and I trekked all the way to the supermarket, only to realize that we didn't bring a car to store all this in."

"I can't believe we forgot that, though," Luna said, shaking her head. "I mean, we've done some careless things, but thi? This is a new one for us."

"Speak for yourself," Holly snorted. "I jumped out of a window from my dorm, remember?"

Esme hit the brakes suddenly, causing them all to lurch forward. "Wait, what?!"

"Oh, it really wasn't that high," Holly chuckled. "Well, not that high compared to other things I've jumped off."

"Like?" prompted Alice.

"Oh, my dorm was only...eh, five or six stories high, I think."

Alice turned to Luna. "Does she do stuff like this often?"

"Because of the effect of the war, Holly had almost no regard for her personal well-being."

"I'm working on it now," Holly said defensively.

Alice snorted. "Are you going to Forks High School? 'Cuz things are sure gonna be interesting with you there."

"Yes. Yes, we will."

"Cool."

After a while, Luna saw a smidge of the familiar path she and Holly had emerged from. "Esme, this is our stop!"

Esme stopped and looked around, confused. "Where's your house?"

"Deep in the woods," replied Luna. "It's a bit of a walk, but we don't mind."

"Thanks for the ride," Holly said, grunting as she pulled half the bags out.

"You sure you don't need help with your bags?" Esme asked in concern.

Holly shook her head, nearly falling backwards with the load of the weight of the bags she had taken. "Nope. We're fine."

Luna copied her actions. "We're good."

Esme reluctantly drove away and when she and Alice were out of hearing distance, Holly and Luna went deeper into the woods before sighing in relief.

Luna let out a big breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Oh. My. God. I can't believe that actually happened!"

"Preach it. Looks like we can't escape our luck no matter where we go."

Holly glanced at her blonde friend sideways as they walked. "So, we've already met two fo the Cullens. How many of them are there?"

Luna thought for a minute. "Seven. We've only seen two out of seven."

"Well, school's just around the corner," Holly said. "It'll be weird, you know? Going to a school without a uniform and having to learn subjects like History—muggle history—Math, and English."

"It will be, but still," said Luna, "can't be worse than regular Hogwarts schooling right?"

"Yes, and I have been catching you and Neville up on the basics," agreed her redhead pal.

Together, the two girls trudged back, unaware of how much drama was going to ensue at their new school with their presence. As someone once said, Sometimes in life, you're not always given a second chance, but if you do, take advantage of it, and go out with a bang!

A/N: Hi, there! I got the third chapter out. I'm glad so many of you like it! Next chapter, Holly's gonna meet Edward! How do you think it will go?

Okay, questions time!

1. Hotdogs or hamburgers? I, personally, prefer burgers.

2. Do you want Holly, Luna, and Neville to meet with the Quileutes first or just go meet the Cullen kids?
