Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot.
FORKS HIGH SCHOOL WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
For starters, it was small, and most of it was covered by the large bushy trees and the student population was three hundred fifty-eight students—now three hundred sixty-one. At Hogwarts, there had been at least eighty-five new students per year and an approximate total of one thousand altogether, if you added them all up.
Another thing: with Forks being a small town, all these kids had grown up together. Merlin, their grandparents had probably grown up together, which meant deep roots of connections with one another. That would make Holly, Neville, and Luna the foreign students, curiosities, freaks.
No, Holly told herself. I'm not gonna be so negative anymore. Let them think what they want. All we want is a fresh start, and my soulmate back before I lose my sanity, which Luna said was a slight possibility if I didn't make him remember me and break up with Bella Swan.
Finding the school wasn't hard. Mostly because Holly had insisted that Neville use the GPS so they wouldn't get lost and late. The school itself was not very distinguishable from other buildings. Only the sign that read: FORKS HIGH SCHOOL made them stop.
Neville was in the front seat with Luna in the passenger's seat and Holly in the back of their BMW.
They pulled into the closest parking spot they could find, which was the closest one to the exit. Holly sighed as she saw that all the chatter had ceased and everyone was now staring at the new, unfamiliar car, eager to see the new students. Well, in a town as small as Forks, even the adults would be gossiping about everything that would happen at the high school, due to the lack of interesting events occurring in the small town.
"Everyone is a bunch of gossiping ninnies," she sighed.
Neville raised an eyebrow. "Tell me something I don't know."
Luna slapped his arm playfully. "Hey, be nice. Besides, the Cullens might be nice, right? I mean, Alice and Esme were and there's a whole thing with...oh crap."
"What now, Luna?" Holly groaned because Luna Lovegood didn't swear unless it was something really, really bad. "Because I honestly don't think that you could tell me anything to make this worse."
"Edward Cullen's car is right across from ours and he's staring at us, along with his entire family." Then, she added, "He can see your hair."
"Let's just get out and you girls come up to Alice later," Neville suggested. "She already knows you guys and she must've talked about you with her family."
Holly wondered that if Alice had done that, did her name ring a bell to Edward/Cedric? Would he remember anything about her if he saw her? Or would he be too wrapped up in his girlfriend to notice?
She didn't have time to second guess herself as Neville came out first, then Luna, and finally, her.
The students stared as Neville Longbottom stepped out. He was wearing a crisp royal blue T-shirt and dark jeans that really showed how muscular he was. A winter jacket and hunter boots kept him warm from the cold. His brown hair was cropped short and he had an easy face.
Some of the girls' faces dropped, however, as he stepped to the passenger's side and helped a blonde, lithe figure out. From the looks of love on their faces, it was obvious to them all that both Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood ("Weird names," some had muttered) were taken.
Luna was wearing a baby blue tank top covered slightly by an unzipped grey winter coat, slim grey jeans, and knee high blue boots with pumps to make her short figure look a couple inches taller than she really was. Her dirty blonde hair hung in waves and her protuberant grey-blue eyes were taking in the sight as she smiled with a far-away look.
Neville snorted as the students of Forks High sported the same look that most students at Hogwarts had worn when Luna did things like wave to random people, dance in the corridors, and search for Wrackspurts with her Spectrespecs. He knew for a fact that she had packed it along in her bag, willing to use it whenever the Cullen clan were nearby, banishing the Wrackspurts.
Perhaps the most interesting reaction was the one Holly got.
"Of course," Holly muttered, knowing that the Cullens would hear her. "It's always me."
The boys gawked and the girls glared in envy as she put on heeled boot-clad foot out. Holly had tied her long red hair up in a tight bun and put her hood up, but still, her red hair was visible and the school had no problem staring.
"It's like they've never seen a redhead before," she hissed, glaring at them all. A quick glance told her that the Cullens had found her comments rather amusing.
Holly was donning an emerald green coat with black spiral designs and at the back of the purple shirt she wore underneath, it said in big, bold letters: YOU WISH YOU COULD PLAY LIKE A GIRL! Nobody had seen it yet and nobody would until she took her jacket off. Blue skinny jeans clung to her legs, showing her fit figure off and black front lace-up combat boots kept her feet warm from the cold in the colorless, lightless town. The top of her thick grey, wool socks peeked out.
She slammed the car door shut, startling some, who then finally (FINALLY!) took the hint and continued their conversations.
They walked to the first building, which had a small sign over the door stating: FRONT OFFICE. They opened the door, but Holly couldn't help but spare herself a glance back. She had waited too long and had often wondered at random times to wonder if Cedric had truly changed that much? Hadn't Luna said that vampires had mega beauty, mega-strength, and mega-basically everything?
But was he still the same boy who'd visited her in the hospital wing every time she ended up there for saving the world. Granted, he couldn't exactly visit after the Triwizard Tournament because...well...you know.
The Cullens were still staring at her.
One was huge, like a bear, with short, dark curly hair. He was built like a wrestler while the blonde girl by his side was a supermodel. She probably made all girls feel insecure about themselves with her Aphrodite-like beauty. She was probably the big guy's girlfriend, who, speaking of which, was not drooling over her like most other boys, regardless of whether or not they had girlfriends who were, at the moment, sneering at Holly.
He actually seemed merely...curious about her. His girlfriend's expression was neutral, as if she could not decide to glare or smile, or maybe she was reserving her judgement until later.
Alice was bouncing on her toes, her pixie-like hair going in all directions. Holly smiled slightly and waved at her in acknowledgement. By her side, as if in pain, was a boy—well he was more of a man, like the Bear Guy—with honey blond hair that reached just above his shoulders. He winced and didn't meet Holly's eye, as if she scared or disturbed him, which, truth be told, she did enjoy sometimes, but not in this scenario.
Then...she saw him. He looked exactly the same age as before, and the youngest of them all, still boyish, still seventeen. It made Holly's heart pang, knowing that physically, she was older than him now.
He still had the bronze hair, but his jawline was stronger, his hair messier, in a playboy kind of way that could've rivaled Sirius. But the biggest change was his paleness. He was white as a sheet, which Holly understood was a characteristic for every vampire, but he had purple shadows under his eyes, from his inability to sleep, Holly understood.
Unfortunately, she came into view, and Holly had to fight back the urge to growl in jealousy.
Bella Swan was as pale as the vampires, so it took a minute for Holly to figure out whether or not she, too, was a vampire. She realized it was the former when she recalled how Luna had said there were seven Cullens, which meant that Bella was a mere mortal. Her hair was flat and mousy brown. She had no sense of style, noticed Holly, dull eyes, and her face was just...wrong.
Holly didn't know if it was because she was jealous or just good at observing, but she immediately didn't like how Bella Swan's appearance looked, especially with the expression of distaste she threw towards her, and gritted her teeth when she practically had Holly's soulmate in a death grip by the arm. The girl looked smug, as if she had shown her dominance over the boy, who actually pried himself away.
Now it was Holly's turn to be smug (internally, since she hadn't exactly gotten him back yet—she'd barely even completed the first step) until she noticed the expression on her vampire soulmate's face. He seemed troubled, concerned, and stared at her with an intense stare, as if trying to figure her out. It made her heart soar as she considered the idea that he might find her familiar, even a little bit.
Just then, she felt something poking her head, trying to intrude upon her thoughts. Luckily, Holly had been practicing Occlumency and Legilimency for the last few months with extreme help from Luna, who was her teacher. Neville had also joined along, finding it useful to keep any wizard who knew Legilimency out of his mind, because you never know when chaos might rear its ugly head again.
As she blocked him out, Edward's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Holly smirked, knowing he would notice that, before following Luna and Neville inside the Front Office.
Inside, it was brightly lit and warmer than the exterior weather was outside. It was a small, waiting area with padded folding chairs, an orange carpet, and a large ticking clock. On the walls hung notices and awards and plants grew everywhere in large plastic pots, as if the people couldn't have enough of greenery. Personally, Holly didn't mind it and neither did Luna and Neville.
The room was split in half by a large counter that was cluttered with wire baskets loaded with papers and bright posters were taped to the fronts as labels, Holly assumed. There were three desks behind the counter, but all were empty except for one, which was currently being occupied by a slightly plump woman with red hair (not naturally red, the trio noticed instantly, but dyed) and wearing square glasses. Because of the warmness in the room, she was wearing a bright yellow T-shirt and jeans.
Neville got tired of standing in front of the table and tapped on her desk. "Um, excuse me?"
She looked up, annoyed. "Can I help you?"
"I'm Neville Longbottom and these are my friends, Luna Lovegood and Holly Potter," he informed her.
They saw the immediate awareness in her eyes. They had been expected to be here, a new topic of gossip for her. Mysterious orphans from England who lived on their own in the woods with no known relatives in the area. It was disgusting how low some people could be—they'd have gobbled up every word Rita Skeeter ever wrote and that bug would've been filthy rich if she'd charge them for her "juicy" news.
"Here you are," she said after digging in a pile of numerous documents and retrieving three schedules and another sheet. "These are your schedules—it was requested that you'd be put in as many classes together as possible—and a map of the school."
She gave them to Holly, who thanked her and left, flanked by Luna and Neville. They took out highlighters. Blue was for Luna, green for Holly, and red for Neville. They highlighted the best and fastest routes to their classes.
Their first class together (well, Holly and Neville were in the class, Luna was in Math with Mr. Molina) was Literature with Mr. Mason.
Holly and Neville hung their coats on the racks and went to sit in the back of the class. Mr. Mason, a tall, bald man, said nothing, but every single student, Bella Swan especially, was staring (more like glaring) at them. When class ended, Holly and Neville zoomed out, barely regretful of the students they'd elbowed.
They had different classes next, however. Holly being Holly had to dramatize it all in front of the school.
"Oh my sweet Neville, how shall I ever survive the"—Holly quickly checked her schedule—"next hour and half without thou?"
She was on her knees, clutching the blushing boy's legs like a life-line. A crowd had gathered, including Luna, who seemed to not notice her boyfriend's pleading look of: "GET ME THE HELL OUTTA HERE!"
In fact, even the Cullens and Bella had come. The only person who didn't seem amused was Bella, whose glare deepened when she noticed Edward chuckling at Holly's dramatics. Emmett was grinning widely, so was Alice. Rosalie tried to withhold a smirk, but even she couldn't seem to deny it was amusing. Jasper covered his mouth with his hand but he was definitely finding the scene hilarious.
"Alice, darlin', you should probably get to your Art class," Jasper Hale whispered to his dark haired girlfriend.
Holly, as soon as she heard, let go of Neville's legs and bounded over to Alice. "Alice, hi! You're in Art, too?"
Alice wasn't surprised, being a vampire and all, but if she were human, she'd have flinched at Holly's speed. "Um, yes. You have Art, too?"
Holly shook her head. "Nope."
"But you just said—"
"I said, "You're in Art, too?", but by, "too", I never said it was me who was in art." She pulled Luna towards them by the arm and pushed her into Alice. "But Luna is! You two have fun together while I go to music!"
Alice grabbed Holly's hand before she bounced off to find her music class. "Actually, Edward also has music right now—he'll be more than happy to show you. Right, Edward?"
Edward scowled, but nodded nonetheless. Holly glanced at Alice suspiciously, who was just giving a very angry Bella a look that said, Trust me!
Holly grabbed her acoustic guitar which she'd stored in her locker earlier and walked as quickly as Edward was, which was hard since being a vampire gave him superspeed; even when he didn't try, he couldn't help but let his vampireness seep through. Holly caught up nevertheless, glancing down at her map of the school every now and then. Neville hadn't needed it, saying that Holly was more likely to get lost even in a small building as Forks High School, which had been returned by a slap to the head.
The silence was deafening, so Holly decided to be the first to break the ice. "So, how is it to have Alice as a sister?"
Edward stared at her for a minute, as if he thought she'd been joking. "It's...nice. She likes to shop a lot, which can be a bit annoying at times."
"Hmm. I see. I met her and your mother Esme a couple weeks ago."
"I know. Alice said your blonde friend called her a pixie." Edward gave her a sideways look.
Holly grinned. "That's Luna for you. She meant it as a compliment. In fact…if she had to give you one of the compliments, she'd call you…Bronze Boy!"
Edward stopped in his tracks, turning to her with an incredulous look, which, to be honest, looked quite amusing to Holly. "Bronze Boy?"
"Not a fan of the nickname, huh?"
"No, I'm not." He sounded as though he expected her to apologize and promise to never call him that.
But Holly had other plans in mind. "Well, too bad! You're stuck with that name now!"
She hummed as she skipped ahead of him, ears prickling up as she heard him sigh and mutter something.
Veering off that subject, Holly decided on another one, that wouldn't sound as weird, hopefully. "What instrument do you play?"
"Piano," he answered shortly. He still sounded irritated by the "Bronze Boy" nickname.
"Me, too. And acoustic guitar." He seemed mildly interested, at last.
Holly did a mental cheer. "When did you start?"
"I started playing guitar first when I was fourteen, but I'd always wanted to try piano," Holly admitted. "I always wanted one, but my relatives wouldn't buy one for me."
"Relatives?" He repeated, confused. He also looked frustrated, noted Holly gleefully, from the fact that he couldn't just pluck whatever information he wanted from her mind like he could with the others.
"I'm an orphan," she said breezily. "Been one for a long time."
He frowned slightly, then put on a charming apologetic smile, as if thinking that would make Holly swoon. "Oh, I'm sorry, I had absolutely no—"
"Hey, now, none of that." Holly paused because of how he was so irresistible right now, but forced herself not to swoon like the other mindless bimbos back at Hogwarts. "It's not like I walked around with a sign announcing my lack of parents for the whole school or something, right?"
He blinked in confusion.
She sighed. "What I mean is, you didn't know and I hate it when people say that. So apologize again and I'll punch you in the face. Don't make me do it—I'd hate to ruin that pretty face with a broken nose."
She laughed at his incredulous face and could have almost heard him mutter," What the actual heck?"
"Ooh, look, we're here!"
The music room was fairly medium sized, with a door labeled STORAGE in the back left corner and music notes along with famous artists of all kinds of styles were cluttering the gray walls.
Some kids were already there, headphones covering their ears, blasting with some kind of tune as they either copied it or scribbled something down in their notebooks. Holly thanked Edward, who nodded stiffly and went over to the grand piano sitting in the corner opposite from the Storage Room. Holly took her guitar out of her case and copied the actions of another small blonde boy, who was wearing headphones and strumming the chords.
She couldn't decide on which melody to focus on. She kept switching from fast and upbeat to slow and melancholy, and then slow and romantic. Edward glanced at her, befuddled by her constant change of tune. He was playing Claire De Lune, a classic Holly herself and introduced to Cedric. Before, he had been only creating his own pieces, but had never felt much inspiration so they weren't very good.
Meanwhile, in Art class, Luna and Alice were partners, mostly because the other kids were weirded out by Alice and after seeing Luna pull out her radish earrings, claiming they helped her think, they avoided her as well. The only one who didn't seem to mind was Alice, who actually asked Luna if they came in a different color so they could match a dress she owned.
"Yes, actually" Luna had said. "Whatever color you want, you can just spray paint on the radishes. Remember to put them in the freezer so they're preserved."
The assignment was that they were supposed to create a mural of one person they loved a lot, whether they were alive or not. Luna had silently decided on her father and Alice had whispered that she was going to draw Jasper, the honey-blonde.
"Jasper is the southern one, right?" Luna asked in her dreamy voice.
"Yeah. Why?"
"I like his accent. It's...nice."
"Oh. Well, I'm sure he likes you and your friends' British accents." Alice laughed. "I know I do."
Luna had finished the outline of her father's angular face and was working on his shoulder length light hair so much like Luna's. The dotty, blonde girl paused in her work, pursing her lip at the memory of her late father. He had nearly betrayed Holly in an attempt to save his daughter, which was something Luna couldn't help but forgive him for after she heard of it. Unfortunately, the Death Eater had done away with him.
"Luna? Is everything alright?" Alice's airy voice came from her right.
Luna was pulled from her thoughts. "Huh? Oh, yes. I was just remembering my—my father."
Alice frowned. "Oh. Is he dead?"
"Yes. He died a couple months ago. I don't like to talk about it much. Could we talk about something else?"
"Of course. I'm sorry for bringing that up. I must've been a hard topic," she apologized, then frowned. "Um...what do you want to talk about instead?"
"Well, how did you and Jasper meet?" Luna asked curiously.
"Um, wow, that's a weird story."
I bet it is, Luna thought.
"Well, he came over once with Esme and Rosalie and...I don't know. We just clicked, y'know?"
Luna nodded. "Yeah. I get that. Although Neville was really strange in front of me when we first met, we did eventually 'get' each other."
"Where in England did you come from?" asked Alice.
"Well, our school was in Scotland and that was where I spent most of the year, but during the summer, I lived in Devon, England."
"How did you and Holly meet in your boarding school if it was so large and you joined a year later?"
Luna stiffened. "The students—both the younger and older ones—in my house didn't like me much."
"House?" repeated Alice.
"In our boarding school, we are sorted into one of four houses—Slytherin for the ambitious and cunning, Ravenclaw for the wise and witty, Hufflepuff for the kind and loyal, and Gryffindor for the brave and courageous. I was Ravenclaw, Holly and Neville were both Gryffindors."
"Oh, I see. Continue."
"Well, the younger students would just whisper rumors about me, but older students would bully me. Holly found out and did what she did best."
Alice was slightly annoyed by the sudden cliffhanger. "And that was?"
"Be the badass queen that she is," replied Luna shortly.
Alice grinned, imagining it in her head. "I can see her doing that." Hey, do you and your friends want to join mine for lunch at our table?"
Luna couldn't believe how easily and quickly they were getting close to the Cullens. Their plan would be completed soon enough, resulting in Holly getting back together with Edward/Cedric.
But first, they had to get Bella Swan out of the picture.
"Luna?"
"Huh? Oh, yes. We'd love to join you."
Lunch rolled around soon enough. Luna met up with Holly and Neville, who had Gym right before. However, they'd secretly used a cleaning and fragrance charm so they wouldn't smell sweaty. They did want to make a good first impression with the Cullens, who had a stronger sense of smell. Holly and Neville didn't want to smell twice as bad in front of the people they needed to impress.
"Especially Edward," Holly had said, blushing slightly.
The lunchroom was probably the biggest area containing the most massive amount of students. It was even bigger than the gym. It wasn't that hard to find Alice, since she was waving her arm so wildly, it was surprising that it hadn't fallen off. Holly grinned at the pixie-haired girl's enthusiasm, finding it very similar to that of Luna's, but also a stark contrast from how calm and at ease the blonde girl could be.
Alice began babbling as soon as the trio sat down, pulling up chairs from the empty tables near them. Holly could barely keep up, but from the sound of it, Alice wanted to go on a girls shopping trip with them sometime soon, while Rosalie just kept glaring at them, Holly specifically.
Occasionally, Holly noticed, Rosalie's glare flickered from being directed at Holly, to Bella, which made her internally panic: Did the blonde vampire beauty know the real reason Holly had come?
That thought was pushed down quickly as Holly reminded herself that only Edward could supposedly read minds ("THE MIND IS NOT A BOOK, POTTER!" she almost heard Professor Snape shouting, and Holly had to bite her lip to choke back her rising giggle) and Rosalie's special gift was something else, since it was unlikely that both she and Edward had the same gift. By the looks of it, Rosalie didn't like Bella at all, which Holly thought was something that the two could stabilize an understanding on, but finally, Rosalie's looks got to her.
"Is something the problem, Rosalie?" asked Holly softly. So softly, in fact, that had the Cullens not been vampires, they might not have heard her.
Rosalie scoffed, but didn't say anything, as if Holly had never said anything. Aice looked at her, mouthing a small apology, but Holly wasn't spineless anymore. She refused to be treated with disrespect anymore and that was going to follow in Forks, Washington as well.
"I don't think you heard me, Rosalie, so I'll say it again: Is there a problem?" Holly repeated in a dangerously sweet voice.
This time, Rosalie acknowledged her. "Of course not," she said mockingly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" demanded Holly.
"Aren't you feeling lucky you're sitting here? Aren't you all? I bet you're just here to get a scoop of the "freaky" Cullens," she spat scathingly.
"Actually, we are feeling lucky," Holly retorted, much to the surprise of the others, causing Rosalie to smirk. Bella smirked too, but it was brief and both hers and Rosalie's fell after Holly's next words. "We're lucky because we thought we weren't the only odd ones around. Or at least, we seem odd to the rest of the town."
"Well, why wouldn't you be?" sneered Rosalie, whom Holly was starting to dislike more and more. "Young teenagers from England who just suddenly popped on her after an alleged war in their country has just ended, with no parents at all? That's—"
The blonde girl didn't get a chance to finish her sentence before Neville shot up, grabbing the waist of a livid Holly, whose bright green eyes were shining with unshed tears. She pointed her shaking finger at Rosalie, who recoiled from the furious red-head.
"You have no idea what happened to us in England!" she cried, drawing attention from the others in the cafeteria.
She knew she had promised herself to try not to make a scene at their new school, to lay low and not draw any unneeded attention, but that promise was thrown out the window the moment Rosalie opened her mouth.
"Oh, boy," muttered Luna, inching closer to Alice and whispering, "Don't. Say. Anything. It'll only provoke her."
Bella didn't listen, but when did she?
"What could you have gone through during the war? You were just a kid—you couldn't have done much," she blurted out dumbly.
Holly, still partly encased in Neville's arms, swiveled, turning her livid eyes on the Swan girl, who looked like a deer caught in headlights.
"What do I know? What do I know?!" Holly cackled madly in a way that would've made Bellatrix jealous. "Oh, please, you all know nothing of war! Nothing!"
"Now, wait a minute—" began Alice, grabbing a silent Jasper's hand. He could barely handle the flood of emotions released by Holly.
"No! I lost my parents on Halloween when I was 1!" Holly hissed. "I saw my mother die before my own eyes! I remember it very clearly, too. And do you know what it's like, thinking for your entire, pathetic excuse of a childhood that your parents died because of you? Because a psycho was after you and they—and mind you, they were only 21 when they died—had to die in the process?! Huh? Do you?!"
Bella trembled.
Edward glared at her. "Don't speak to her like that! She didn't know that you were…" He trailed off, not knowing how to phrase it.
"She didn't know that I was what?" asked Holly angrily. "That I was orphaned? That I lived a living hell and continuously looked over my shoulder to see if I was being followed out of habit?!"
"Well, when you put it like that—" started a guilty looking Edward, but Holly wasn't quite done yet.
"And another thing!" she yelled, slamming her hands down on the table hard, making Bella jump and Luna wince. Holly glared fiercely at Rosalie. "I may not know what you and your siblings might've gone through as orphans, but I do know that it wasn't even close to what I've gone through, so be grateful for that! Be grateful that you got to live with a caring, loving family with people like Esme as your parents! I never had that and I would've given literally anything for it!"
And with that, the last thing Holly yelled was while directing her glare towards the entire school: "WHAT ARE YOU LOT LOOKING AT?!"
They all jumped and turned back. Holly could already see Jessica gossiping excitedly with her group.
Sighing resolutely, she exited the cafeteria, but this time, she didn't look back at the Cullens.
Why should she?
It wasn't worth it and she wasn't going to go back crawling to Cedric because he was dead. Edward was clearly not Cedric, despite sharing the same face and body (with a few altercations, of course). Holly could see that now. Both were very different and she was in love with Cedric, not Edward, and she never would be. Bella could have her possessive, controlling vampire boyfriend creep.
After a very awkward silence, Luna sighed deeply, massaging her temples. Neville put a hand on her shoulder.
Alice was the first one to apologize.
"I'm so sorry!" she burst out, her eyes glassy with venom.
Luna put her hand up. "It's...well, it's not alright—that behavior is very rude—but it's not your fault, Alice."
"Shouldn't you go after her?" probed Alice.
"No." Luna shook her head. "She wants to be left alone."
"How do you know that for sure?" Edward asked. He felt very frustrated not being able to hear Holly's, Luna's, or Neville's thoughts.
Well, he could hear some, but it was only bits and pieces. It felt as though a wall was blocking him from entering, so any chance of knowing what they were thinking was a chance worth taking to hime.
Luna glanced curiously at him. "I've known Holly since I was eleven and she, twelve. Neville's known her for eight years straight. I know her very well by now. After an outburst like that, she's likely to snap at anyone, and you don't want to be around when that happens. Ever."
"Wait, wait, wait," Emmett said, speaking for the first time. "That whole thing wasn't her snapping?"
Neville chuckled dryly. "Oh, no. That was just a warm-up. When Holly snaps, she goes full out yelling at the top of her lungs until her lungs are ready to collapse. If she'd snapped, she'd have been shouting at us all—well, minus Luna and I—and wouldn't even care if the teachers came. Actually, she'd probably yell at them, too."
Edward's eyes brows raised above his hairline in shock, which made Luna and Neville laugh.
Luna regarded his shocked face with an unimpressed eyebrow. "She's done it before, you know. Hell hath no fury like a redhead."
For some reason, the Cullens and Bella shared a look, as if knowing something they didn't. Before they could talk anymore, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
Luna and Neville didn't see Holly until after school was over and any Cullen that was in her class, she ignored, even Edward, whom she'd been wanting to talk to ever since she found out he was back.
The first person in the car was Holly, in the driver's seat. She tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Luna and Neville. They tried to talk to the Cullens, but one look from Holly made them change their minds. They silently entered the car and buckled their seatbelts.
As Holly drove, it was silent. Neither Luna nor Neville knew how they should go about this, choosing instead to look out the window and pretend the view was interesting.
After a while, Holly sighed. "You can talk, you know. I'm not stopping you."
"But are you going to talk to us?" asked Luna skeptically.
Holly's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "Depends on what you wanna talk about."
"I think we all know the answer to that, Holls," Neville pointed out.
"Fine," gritted Holly. "I hate him. I hate him and his stupid pretty face and his stupid girlfriend—"
"You're worth a million more than Bella," Luna tried to say helpfully, but the moment the girl's name was heard, Holly sped up the car faster than the speed limit allowed them to. "GAH! HOLLY, CALM DOWN!"
"I am calm, I am calm," Holly chanted, trying to convince herself. "I just...I don't want to hear her name, okay? It's too much for me."
"We understand," Neville said. "By the way, did Rosalie apologize?"
"No, why would she?"
"Just asking," he hummed. "She seemed a little bit guilty. Just a little. I think you scared her."
"Good," Holly remarked darkly. The rest of the trip was in silence until they got home.
A/N: Hi, so I decided that Holly and her gang should meet the Cullens first, so here it is! If you want to, I have also tried posting this story on wattpad, so you can check it out there, too! Also, I have decided that the next chapter will be entirely from Edward's point of view. I'll try to make it sound like him while it happens. I have more time to update now that I'm back to virtual learning. And here I was thinking 2022 might be different. Oh well. At least there's one perk to this shitty schedule, right?
Here's a little hint for what the next chapter's going to be about: it's based on one of Olivia Rodrigo's songs from her Sour album.
Okay, question time!
1: Cats or dogs? I, personally, am more of a dog person than a cat one.
2. Should Edward find out on his own before Holly tells him about his previous life as Cedric, or should it be some big dramatic reveal because I would have to make one very long chapter for that or maybe 2 or 3 for it?
