Chapter 3 - Elvish Hospitality

A little back up in time - Thorin

It had been so long since Thorin had hope. First, he had lost hope for his home. The mountain had been everything to him growing up. Then when the cursed dragon, Smaug, had come and taken it from them all. The battle at Moria is when he finally lost the hope for their home. Losing his grandfather in that battle and then his father was gone as well. It hurt him and his hope fell. He had carried that hope though even though it was shattered. But when he had hit over 150 years old that hope was nonexistent. Dwarves may have a love for stone but even they needed companionship. The flame for a Queen had died when he hit 150.

Every dwarf and Elf had soul marks. But the marks never came onto the body until the other recipient of the soul mark came into existence. A hope of a queen had been snuffed until he suddenly awoke to a soul mark across his left pectoral. It was Westron. His queen was now here in the world of man. Harry Potter was her name. That is what truly caused him to be late to the meeting place at the Hobbit's home in the shire. Every man settlement he came across he listened for the name of Harry Potter or to at least see the soul glow that dwarves saw on their mates. But alas he never found it. And now as he set out on the journey to reclaim his homeland, he prayed that she would cross his path.

Same Little Time Back Up but Thranduil

5,000 years. 5,000 long years he had been without a soul mark. He had taken a wife to have an heir. His beloved son, Legolas, was perfect in his eyes. And he had loved his wife. She was regrettably not his soul mate, but he had loved her. Her, own, had died when they had been children. Thranduil had known him as well. He had been a childhood friend. They had waited a couple thousand years and when neither of them had a soul mark show they decided to get married. Shortly after they had been blessed with Legolas. She was shortly taken from them both when Legolas had become a toddler. Thranduil had become cold. His heart could not take the hurt.

But then after all this time a mark showed up on his right pectoral. It was Westron. Harry Potter. A daughter of man was now in the world and waiting for him to find her. He had given the order to have any stray humans brought before him should they come into his forest realm. He would find her. His loneliness would soon be quenched.

(Present Time with Harry)

Harry did not know what day it was when she opened her eyes or how long she had been out. All she was that these people were Elves, not like the House Elves of her world, but beings of higher intelligence and otherworldly attributes. Such as the ones that were in muggle story books. She also knew that they had exceptional cuisine and their hospitality was amazing. She had expected to be placed in a dungeon the moment she woke but instead she had been given beautiful dresses to wear and an extravagant room. Prince Legolas and Tauriel, she had learned was the red headed elf's name, came to see her as did the healer. She was to meet with Legolas's father that evening. But she was bored and decided that she wanted to explore her surroundings.

Harry opened her door, pulled on her invisibility cloak, and found no one in the halls. She hoped that she did not get lost, but she could find her way to Legolas or Tauriel with her wand. Hopefully they were inside. She travelled and popped her head around and found a beautiful library. She could hear Hermione's voice now, "Oh Harry! The library is perfect. I wish I could be there." Harry wished that she could be too. She poked around for a couple hours when she came across the dungeons. She witnessed a couple elves bring a prisoner down. Harry moved closer and peered through the bars of his cell.

"Oh, he is... is handsome." she felt the girly hormones come into effect then.

But it was strange. She had never encountered someone like this. None of the others down here or even the Elves that she had encountered seemed to be bright. It wasn't like a spotlight was on him, but he was a lot more noticeable to her. Like he had his own personal fluorescent bulb under his skin. She did not know why she did it but she pulled her cloak from over her head.

"Hello." she said to him.

The man bolted up from where he sat and crossed to the bars. He reached through and took her hand in his. He looked like a man starved of water seeing an oasis. He pulled her closer to the bars. Harry was very weary then. There was a reason he was a prisoner. She really hoped he did not try to break her neck of something.

"Amralime." came from his lips.

His voice sent shivers down her back. She loved his voice. Her body loved his voice. But she did not know what he said. A look of confusion graced her face. A small chuckle escaped him, and he lifted her hand to his lips, gracing her hand with a small kiss. Her face heated as her eyes widened and a stutter developed from her. He released her hand and she quickly pulled it away, flustered.

"Harry?" he said to her.

She snapped towards him, "How do you know my name?"

Thorin pulled his shirt off and there on his left pectoral was her name. Just like she had on her ribs and on her arm. She lifted her hand and touched her name. Twin groans left them both the moment her fingers touched him. The pleasure that soared through them was instantaneously. Thorin's arms came through the bars and held her up. Her knees went weak, and she leaned heavily against the bars. She felt his strong arms come around her. A clang had Harry jump away from him. She flipped her cloak up to only where he could see her face.

"I'll come back." she promised and drew the cloak closed.

"Amralime." she heard Thorin whisper has a couple Elves past her.

With sorrow in her heart, she left the dungeons and made her way up the stairs to the main chamber. When she emerged, she noticed Legolas leaving another room with a voice following him. She peaked around the corner and saw a tall blonde elf standing there. A throne was beside him. She just knew when she saw the crown that this was Thranduil. She pulled her cloak from over her and made herself known.

"My Lord?" she said and came into view.

Thranduil turned to her. He was surprised to see her. He had not heard her come in. She bowed her head at him, and he sat on his throne. Harry moved closer to the throne.

"You must be the little woman that fell from the canopy?" Thranduil asked of Harry.

"I am." Harry answered him honestly.

"Why were you in my domain?" He asked.

With a heavy sigh Harry launched into her explanation. How Gandalf and she had travelled together and then he suddenly just left her with Beorn and took off on his own for an adventure. She had enjoyed her stay with Beorn very much so, but she had felt a pull to explore Mirkwood. That she needed to be there.

"What is your name?" he asked of her.

"I am called Harry Potter." Harry answered.

AN: And a cliffie. I will resume work on my other fiction soon. I needed a break from it. I got a little discouraged when an entire chapter I had almost finished was suddenly deleted. But fear not I will return to it.
