Numbuhs 86 and 60 took the afternoon after lunch to practice for the Dinner with her family in the kitchen
"Okay look, he doesn't like people hiding stuff from him especially kids, actually scratch that, he hates any kid that isn't me and my brothers"
Patton was writing in a notepad the kids gave him "Wait a second there Fulbright if he hates every kid besides you what is the point of this plan of yours?"
"Truth be told? I'm trying to make you less detestable for him so he just tries to punch your pretty face and doesn't kill you outright"
"Fair enough" he said as he wrote that
"Just to be clear, that was your idea, not mine, it would be fine by me if we could keep it a secret from him but noooo you had to be a imbecile fool and talk to him asking for his blessing as if we needed one" She said before resting her back on a nearby wall and crossing her arms "What was even your idea?"
He got up from his chair as he approached Fanny and started pointing at her "I'm gonna hide from no adult especially if he is the father of my girlfriend and especially if he is a villain, I'm gonna go there, be nice since I want his blessing, eat a nice dinner and leave with you to go back here or even sleep in your house if necessary"
"Great plan Romeo, but what if the guy doesn't give you his blessing?" Numbuh 5 who was sitting on the couch with Numbuhs 3 and 4 watching they from the living room
"I… did not think this far ahead" he told them as he rested his back in the wall of the kitchen along with his girlfriend
Numbuhs 3, 4 and 86 all facepalmed after hearing that
"At least the boy is honest I will give him that" said Numbuh 5 grinning at them
"Why don't you just ask your dad what he is planning for the Dinner?" Said Rachel who had just opened the door that gave access to the main hangar along with Numbuh 2, she had red licorice dangling from her mouth while Numbuh 2 was holding his shirt carrying some chocolate on it "You could even bring Patton along to visit your house since you said in the way here back at the bus you would need help getting somethings in your house for the month, the date of the Dinner hasn't been planned yet right?
Everyone in the room looked at Numbuh 362 surprised by her plan
HAVE YOU GONE COMPLETELY MAD?! IF IT WERE UP TO ME HE WOULDN'T EVEN NEED TO ENTER MY HOUSE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOW YOU WANT HIM GOING THERE TWICE?! She said as she approached Rachel and grabbed her by the shirt thinking she was crazy
Rachel just looked at Fanny while munching her Licorice smiling not fazed even a bit already used to her friend's outbursts
"No, no, wait, wait, wait." Patton left the wall "I think her idea is great"
"You do?" Fanny turned her attention to her boyfriend
"I could even drive you guys there, Patton could follow Fanny inside to get her stuff and I would wait inside the Bus with my Halberd if things get too dangerous for him" Said rachel
"ugghhhh… this is a nightmare… FINE! But only attack dad in extreme necessity, actually better yet, only attack dad if i say so" She looked at Rachel
"Wouldn't have it any other way Sir" She saluted Numbuh 86 ironically
The three of them all took the C.O.O.L.B.U.S to Fanny's house, Rachel landed the Bus in front of her friend's house on the sidewalk
opened the door thinking it was an enemy attack as he pulled out a Briefcase that shot lasers and pointed it at the bus "I knew you kids would not keep your end of the truce hahaha"
his daughter came out of the Bus door along with the boy she was dating both came with their hands raised to show they were unarmed "Oh…" he shot Patton just slightly above his head barely scraping his hair.
Patton kept his cool as he could tell by the way he was holding the gun he didn't mean to hit him just scare him
"Huh… you are a cheeky one brat" he threw away his briefcase and came to greet her daughter, he pulled her into a hug "My little Fanny-pants hahaha, I thought you said you would be at your friends treehouse until I invited the brat over here to Dinner"
"I came to pick somethings from my room Daddy" she said smiling while hugging him too "Patton here insisted on coming together"
He scratched his chin as he analyzed his surroundings after releasing his daughter from the hug "Okay, whoever is the brat inside the bus can come out RIGHT NOW!" Boss yelled while looking at the bus
The Bus door opened as Rachel jumped out of it with her Halberd strapped behind her back"How did you know?"
My daughter would not date a brat so dumb, so foolish, that would dare come meet me alone, that said… " He pointed at the door "You girls go pick the stuff you need for your vacations" He grabbed Numbuh 60 by the shirt and lifted him while pressing him against the Bus "I will have a little talk with my supposed son-in-law here"
"Just don't kill each other, fight all you want but don't give me a headache worst than the one I already have" Fanny grabbed Rachel's hand and went inside her home
"Hahaha she is such a gift from god, when I heard she was in your brats organization I was worried, it was only a matter of time before all boys preyed on my little fanny-pants" he said while holding Patton against the bus
"Are you going to fight me or what?" Said Patton smiling
"I know I can't protect her from the world" He released Patton and went to one of the bushes nearby to catch his briefcase weapon "But I sure can try scaring it away from her hahaha" he aimed his Briefcase at Numbuh 60
Patton pulled his shirt up revealing a S.P.I.C.E.R as he aimed at boss
"Oh, that's just great" Said Rachel while looking at them both from the window bored she couldn't participate
Fanny was getting her swimsuit and the Rainbow monkeys she needed in a suitcase too busy to look at them both "What are they doing?
"Your dad pulled his briefcase from the bushes and is aiming at Patton while Patton just pulled a S.P.I.C.E.R on him "
"I hate boys so, so much" she said while trying to fit a bigger Rainbow monkey on her briefcase
Rachel grabbed one of Fanny's rainbow monkeys, it was red and had removable glasses that looked just like the ones Nigel wore but in another colour "Hey this one is kinda cute"
Fanny looked at her while red beams could be seen outside "The color and the glasses have nothing to do with it I believe so?" She laughed
"You can be such a jerk sometimes, did you know that?" She grinned and threw the monkey at her
Fanny Laughed "Sorry, Sorry, Here" she threw the monkey back at her "You can have it, it makes more sense in your hands than mine"
"Uh…." she blushed looking at the Rainbow monkey "Thanks, I will treasure it"
"I'm sure you will, I'm giving you a part of my soul here" she closed the briefcase "Shall we go?"
"Sure Let's…" Before Rachel could finish her phrase she looked at the window in shock "Oh no…"
"What? did they kill each other" She laughed
"That too but worst than that, your mother just arrived with your two brothers"
Numbuh 86 eyes went wide open before she rushed to her window begging Rachel was joking, sadly she wasn't, there it was her mother standing between her father and her boyfriend who were both lying on the grass while her brothers stood on the sidewalk watching it unfold "I never thought it could reach the Worst case scenario"
Going back in time for a bit but now outside where Patton was firing and dodging 's laser shots, he was the best male operative in the entire KND and it showed, boss wasn't tiring out so soon but he barely managed to hit a shot at Patton but for that he needed full focus so he didn't manage to hit that many shots either that perdured for the past few minutes in the shoot-out
Patton was panting "You are… pretty good" he said while cleaning sweat from his forehead
"You aren't so bad yourself boy" Boss took out a handkerchief from his pocket and cleaned his face "When I'm done with you, I will choose someone I can truly approve for my baby girl"
Just as they pulled the trigger, both of them heard a voice saying "Honey? Who is this kid and why are you both trying to shoot each other?" It was Wife and Fanny's Mother, they both forgot to dodge because of her, Patton shot hit 's shoulder as he fell on the ground feeling it burning and 's shot hit Patton in the chest, they both fell in the ground in pain as his wife rushed between them "Oh god honey, who is this boy? What were you thinking?"
Just as she said that Numbuh 85 also known as Fanny's brother took a closer look at the boy who was on the ground "Hey! That's Patton! It's Fanny stupid boyfriend" He laughed
"Boyfriend? Oh god that explains everything" she looked back at the unconscious boy
Just as she said that Fanny and Rachel opened the front door rushing to Patton and "Mom I can explain I swear!"
"No need for explanations honey your brother told me everything I needed to know" she said as she pinched her husband's ear who was still very much awake since he only got hit in the shoulder, he stood up after feeling the new source of pain and was dragged inside the home "Kids could you carry this young boy to the living room?" She said while smiling at the kids standing outside the house
All the kids stood there afraid of her as the only thing they could say was "Sure" they lifted Patton from each side Fanny was holding his head. Rachel was holding his feet and each boy was holding one arm as they went inside and laid him on the couch
"Is he going to be okay?" Shaunie asked
"Adult villain weapon technology is similar to ours when we talk about the damage it does, he will live" Fanny lifted his shirt showing a big but very superficial burn mark on his chest
"Could you not show my chest like that in front of Rachel? It's weird" he grinned with his eyes still closed
Fanny grabbed his neck and started shaking him "YOU WERE AWAKE THE ENTIRE TIME?"
"Ow! Ow! Ow! I'm still hurt over here you know?" Before he could say any other thing Fanny hugged him
"Never do something so stupid again you hear me?" she said while hugging him tight
"Alright… I understand… Please I can't breathe" Patton said while his skin color turned blue
"Ah… sorry" She released him
While her friends were talking Rachel decided to check on to see what happened to him she managed to get upstairs to their room where she heard someone talking
"I can't believe you challenged such a young boy to a shoot-out only because our little girl has a boyfriend now but what's worse… MY GARDEN IF FULL OF BURN MARKS BECAUSE OF YOU" Fire came out of Fanny's mother eyes just like her daughter while boss was in a corner protecting his face "I will get to the bottom of this you mark my words" she noticed then Rachel who was spying on them and approached the door she was hiding and crouched until she got around her height "He won't tell me the truth and I don't want to disturb the little couple downstairs
"Alright, but you can stand up like a normal person. I'm not that small you know?" Rachel explained the whole situation to , how boss came to know about Patton and what Patton wanted, The Dinner, the truce and why they were in here, Boss knew better not to interrupt her while his wife was in the room
"I see… Can you go back to your friends downstairs now sweetie? I need to have a word with Fanny's daddy" After Rachel left the room approached her husband when he saw her eyes they were engulfed in flames "YOU PLANNED A DINNER WITH OUR DAUGHTER'S BOYFRIEND AND YOU DIDN'T TOLD ME?!"
W-Well to tell you the truth honey I planned to just scare him like I was doing right now and make no Dinner at all" He smiled at her
"You are sleeping on the couch today, and if you don't apologize to that boy and give him your blessing you are eating no food of mine today as well" she crossed her arms
"I will apologize but he will receive no blessing from me, It could be the most perfect, delightful well-mannered brat on the planet and I still would not be good enough for my little girl" Boss got up and started defending himself from his wife request
She smiled at him "If you both agree to not get violent again I can accept that"
"If he breaks her little heart I won't be able to keep that promise hahaha" he hugged his wife
"If he does such thing you will be the least of his worries" she laughed
Fanny was rubbing some ointment she found in the medicine cabinet inside the bathroom on Patton's chest and Rachel was watching tv while talking with Numbuh 85 who didn't have a chance to talk to her a lot yet since he joined KND
and his wife went downstairs after they finished their talk
"Are you alright Daddy? Fanny asked while still treating Patton's wound
"Nothing I couldn't handle, these weapons you kids use are weak hahaha" Boss then looked at Patton lying on the couch "Look boy, I will never accept you going out with my sweet little girl but the same applies for every kid in the planet, that said if you make her happy and don't break her heart for the rest of your miserable life I can tolerate you and don't shoot you again" His wife nudged him in the ribs at that moment "That hurts! Calm down woman! I also apologize for shooting you, and inviting you to a fake dinner just so I could fight you, and lifting you against the bus, and…"
"I think I get it Sir, it's all in the past no… OW! OW! OW!" before he could finish Fanny pressed her finger against Patton's burn in his chest
"Don't you have something to say to him too, my love?" Asked Fanny trying to act very cutesy while looking him in the eyes
"Uhhh… Sorry for taunting you earlier and… shooting your shoulder" He scratched the back of his head
They both shook hands while avoiding looking at each other after that
"I don't know why you said it was the worst possible scenario, everything went well as far as I can see" Rachel asked while looking at Fanny
"The worst part starts now…" Numbuh 86 frowned as she heard a flash from a camera
It was her mother who took a photo of her caressing Patton's hair while he rested for a bit before they took the bus back to the treehouse, Rachel appeared in the photo too "You look adorable fannypants"
MOOOOOM! She looked in disbelief
Patton and Rachel couldn't contain their laughter at the way her mother talked "oh god i'm crying, i'm sorry Fanny i wasn't expecting it was so bad" said Rachel while she banged her hand on the couch where she hid her face
Patton face was red from the laughing covering his eyes with his arm while he was lying on the couch "Oh god I can't stop laughing, it was a while before I laughed so hard, sorry sweetheart"
Numbuh 86 was redder than a tomato by this point" We are going back to the treehouse RIGHT NOW! She picked her friend and her boyfriend and dragged them outside one in each hand back to the bus
"Wait!" her mom stopped her while her daughter threw the laughing duo inside the Bus "Are you guys going to dinner here one of these days? I still want to make food for your boyfriend"
"Huhhh… Drilovsky? The choice is yours, just… not today please" she looked at her boyfriend who was sitting on the Bus steps trying to get a hold of himself
"S-Sure just say the day but yeah… I don't think today is a good day… my lungs are hurting from the laughs I had I'm sorry"
"Oh thank god, I still wanted to take more pictures of you two together" Her mother said
"MOOOOOOOOOOM STOOOOOOOP!" She closed the bus doors as she sat along with Patton in one of the seats
"Oh god… I think I'm gonna have a heart attack from laughing this much, my chest is hurting" Rachel started doing deep breaths as she sat in the Driver's seat
"If someone in Sector V hears a peep from what my mom just did I'm gonna tell Nigel about the reason you were so excited about this Vacation" Numbuh 86 frowned
"My lips are sealed, no need to pull out the big guns" Rachel Laughed but a bit more nervous this time because she knew Fanny wasn't joking " I need to do a quick stop at my home first though, I saw you getting your swimsuit and I remembered I forgot to pick mine too"
"Sure, I'm gonna take a nap now, can you guys wake me up when we go back to the Treehouse?" she laid her head on Patton's lap and drifted off to sleep
Rachel stopped by her house to get her swimsuit and drove back to the treehouse after that, it was around 7 p.m when Rachel parked inside the main hangar
Patton ended up sleeping as well on the way, Rachel decided to only wake up Fanny and let Patton rest a bit more, she shook Fanny a bit to wake her up "come on wake up, it's not even dinner time yet"
Fanny yawned as she stood up to greet Rachel "Thanks for waking me up" she looked at Patton who was still asleep "I'm gonna wake him up, you can go ahead"
"Alright" Rachel left the bus carrying her stuff and left the two alone
Fanny approached Patton's face and kissed him on the lips "come on, time to wake up pretty boy"
He yawned and kissed her back "Nice way to wake me up you got there" he left his seat and followed her out of the bus
When Rachel entered the living room holding the Rainbow monkey Numbuh 86 gave to her in one hand and a bag with her swimsuit on the other Numbuh 4 was playing yipper with numbuh 2 on one side of the couch while on the other side Numbuh 3 was hugging 5 Rainbow monkeys at once while humming a cute song. Numbuh 5 was watching KNN and Numbuh 1 was reading something on a computer when he noticed Rachel
"Hey you're back, how was it with ?" Numbuh 1 turned his attention to Rachel
"He and Patton shot each other right when Fanny's mother arrived home from shopping, she and Fanny gave them an earful, everything seems fine now, he still hates him but he promised he won't try to kill him again and Drilovsky did the same"
"Good to know everything went well" Numbuh 1 said as he noticed the Rainbow monkey on her hand now
"I didn't know you liked rainbow monkeys" he looked at her while she looked at the plushie on her hand
Rachel blushed a little and gave him a bit of an awkward smile "huhhh… I'm not as big of a fan as Numbuh 3 or Fanny but she gave this one to me while I was at her house and some of them are kinda cute to be honest… is that a problem for you?" she said while scratching the back of her head
Numbuh 1 looked at Numbuh 3 who was talking with 5 monkeys at the same time and then back at Rachel "You are joking, right? I wouldn't even be able to have her in my team if it was" he said in a jokingly manner
"O-of course I was joking hehe…" Rachel sat beside Nigel
Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 3 smiled at each other both surprised at what they saw
Just then Fanny and Patton entered the room "Sup, what did we miss? asked Patton
"Not much, we've been lazing around pretty much the entire day" said Numbuh 4
Numbuh 5 signaled Numbuh 3 with a nod
"Huhhhh… Fanny? Me and Numbuh 5 need to have a talk with you about those new Rainbow monkeys that come with glasses"
"Numbuh 5 don't tell me you like those stupid monkeys now" asked Numbuh 4
"New Rainbow monkeys that come with glasses what are you…" she looked at Rachel who was talking with Numbuh 1 while holding the Rainbow monkey she gave her not paying attention to their conversation "Ohhh… right those Rainbow monkeys, come I will tell everything about the store where I found them"
Numbuh 5 turned off the television while Numbuh 3 left the couch hugging all five Rainbow monkeys but not before approaching Numbuh 4 "You will learn to love them someday" she kissed him on the cheek and left with Numbuh 5 who was following Numbuh 86 outside
Patton picked a chair and placed it near the couch where Numbuhs 2 and 4 were playing yipper "I brought my card deck before leaving moonbase the next one who loses switch places with me"
"What do you play?" asked Numbuh 2
"Golden Yippertrivier" Numbuh 60 said
"Oh I'm gonna enjoy destroying you both" Numbuh 2 smiled
The girls found a secluded place where people in the living room couldn't hear them
"Numbuh 5 can't believe Leader over there liked Nigel, this is too perfect" Said Abby while she rested her back on a wall
"You two really didn't know? You two are denser than Patton. How is that even possible?" she looked at them in disapproval "That said, do you guys think she has a chance with your leader? He broke up with the crazy one no?"
"best thing that ever happened in his life if you ask me" Numbuh 5 smirked
"We don't know her that much, I never had the chance to talk to the Supreme Leader alone" Kuki was sitting on the floor
"Then you get your chance now Numbuh 3" Rachel had come out of a door while she looked at Numbuh 3
"Uhhh… Hi" Numbuh 3 waved her while smiling
"Hi" She waved her back "I figured out the only thing you could be talking about after what happened earlier was about me and Nigel"
"Sorry for not inviting you for the talk sis, but you looked like you were in cloud nine back there"
"You don't need to apologize, I was really happy back there" she giggled as she touched both her cheeks who were a bit red"
"Does he know? Numbuh 3 asked
"No… Maybe… I'm not sure, We walked while holding hands earlier but he said nothing about that after we reached his home"
"You wanna our help?" Numbuh 5 asked
"That's exactly why I came here to talk to you, I don't need any help, I accepted these vacations and the whole truce with the adult villains just so I could get closer to him, I secretly won a trip to Hawaii and left it in a place where my parents could see it easily just so I could pretend I didn't have anywhere else on earth to stay for my vacations, I bribed my brother with candy just so he would accept to go with them, I don't want to sound rude towards any of you three but stay out of this please" Rachel bowed her head toward the three of them
The three girls smiled at each other "I have better things to do with my vacations than worry about you and baldie, helping you didn't even cross my mind since I know you are capable to do it alone" Fanny left the spot they were in
"Numbuh 5 will stay out of the way, you go get him girl" Numbuh 5 also left
Huhhh… to be honest with you, I didn't even think about helping you, sorry…" Numbuh 3 was scratching the back of her head a bit embarrassed before she left as well
Rachel looked at the sky, now more confident than ever before to make her vacation count.
I usually don't like putting notes at the end of chapters but I feel like this one needed some, although it was a big chapter I had a lot of difficulty writing the first half about the Numbuh 86 and Numbuh 60 plot, I'm feeling a bit bummed out by this plot and I think the Dinner was a bad idea, I still wanna keep it to see where it goes and if I can do better next time these two are in the spotlight during the story.
