The school day continued on to the extracurricular activities and Judai was in for a big twist. As the class got seated and situated Mrs. Bishop came from her booth with fliers in her hand. "I'm sorry everyone but Im gonna have to postpone the musical till next year. Principal Hawkins is taking some money from the school's budget to have a memorial for Bruce Campwell. The good news is we're gonna plan a talent show fundraiser along side the towns annual winter bake off. The money from the bake off/ sale and the talent show will go to the schools fund."
Aster raised his hand. "Yes Mr. Phoniex?" Aster stood up from his seat addressing the room. "Can we participate in the talent show?" Everyone looked from Aster to Mrs. Bishop eager to hear the teachers explanation.
"Anyone can join in!" The green haired teacher nodded her head excitedly. The room exploded into cheers of what they class was gonna do. Some wanted to act, some wanted to do a dance. Judai bit his lip. He secretly wished to do the talent show as well. He had been saving his singing voice for drama class for years, he wanted to show the people he grew up with at school what he could really do.
Johan saw the spark in Judai's eyes. 'He wants to do it really bad…' he thought. The teal haired male smiled at his brunette friends innocent but obvious excitement. The initial reaction quickly went away from Judai's face as Mrs Bishop handed out the fliers and went out into the hall way and started hanging them up with several students.
"Yuki." Judai looked up to see Aster standing nearby with his arms crossed. Judai looked at Aster confused. "What Aster?" He came closer his blue eyes glancing towards Johan. "So chumy with the new students aren't ya. This whole school thinks your the one who killed Bruce." Judai got to his feet his brown eyes stricken and pained.
"I never went near him..! And I don't need to explain to anyone where I was last night… because nobody would believe me anyway!" Johan got to his feet next to Judai a strong hand on his shoulder. Judai looked to meet emerald green eyes staring at him passionately and with unyielding confidence. He looks to Aster who was caught off guard by the wild look now in Johan's eyes.
"Don't judge him.. Judai would never harm anyone." Johan grasped Jusai's sleeved hand grabbed their bags and brushed passed Aster walking down the bleacher stairs as the two sat outside the class room to escape Aster, as pointless as it was.
"You don't listen to nobody, Judai. Your wonderful." Judai gave a bright smile to Johan who shared it ruffling the brunettes hair laughing at his now pouty expression. Judai in retaliation pinched Johan's cheeks still pouting.
"Ah! Ah! I cave I cave! Ow…ow!" Judai let go after a minute of Johan whining rubbing his now redden skin and sore face. Judai let out a chuckle at his friends slight pain. Johan pouted in response but his smile replaced it seeing Judai's grin on his face. "That right there!" He points to Judai's face and current expression. The brunettes eyes widen looking at his friend.
"That smile has to always be on your face!" Johan's eyes shined brightly with enthusiasm and honesty. He didn't want Judai to lose the light that had grown in his eyes since he met him. "You have this… spark, Judai. Never let it go out alright!" Judai looked at his friend weirdly.
"Whatever you said Johan. As long as I never lose you… A-as a friend! Of course… I never lose you as a friend!" Judai stammers trying to correct his sentence. Johan noticed the light flush of red on Judai's cheeks as the brunette turned away from him.
Before Johan could respond to him the bell rang for the end of the day and the two stood up and walked together towards the front of the school. Their friends meeting them at the bus.
"You guys gonna ride the bus again, I'm sure?" Syrus points out as they get in line to board the bus. Hassleberry sighed hard having had changed out his torn hoodie from this morning from one he borrowed from the lost and found. This one was dark beige with the name of the school Willow High on the front of it in white letters.
"Pretty much, until we can afford to get the truck fixed… and right now none of us work, and that Truck was a loaner from Johan's dad." Johan lets out a hard noise at Jim's words dread just seeping from the bluenette.
"My old man's gonna murder us.." He pressed his cold hands to his face rubbing his temple. The three boys gave pity looks to the three males who had dread and fear pouring off them.
"Maybe my brother can get you a job." Syrus speaks up rubbing the back of his head. Jim Hassleberry and Johan looked at Syrus. "My brothers could do something for ya in job wise, it won't pay much but it'd be something."
"You two have brothers?!" Johan and Hassleberry cried out. Judai laughed. "Older brothers tho." To the two in question that made more sense now as they nodded their heads in understanding. The group climbed the bus as the seating arrangement stayed the same.
"They could definitely get you some jobs where they work. My brother owns the movie theater down town. You three could get part time jobs since winter break is almost here." The three in question nod their heads approvingly. They hoped the money the three of them made together would help and be enough to get the truck fixed up since the engine was prone to fail, not just the damage the truck took in hitting a tree.
"So the play is gonna be set back." Judai brought up. Syrus and Chazz dropped their bags on the ground simultaneously and looked at Judai in shock. "No way! You were looking forward to that!" Syrus cried out over Johan who looked surprised by their outburst and Hassleberry and Jim who looked plain confused.
"It's cause of Bruce's death. The schools using the funds that would've gone to make the play to hold a memorial at school." Chazz groaned at this. He knew that Bruce was a rich guy, even lived on the same block further down from him. "His parents could afford it." Hassleberry shushed Chaz's gruntle attitude.
"Don't speak ill of the dead, it can come back and bite you in the ass!" He hissed out, Jim agreeing with his friend, by nodding in response. Chazz turns his attention back to Judai. "So what's gonna happen now?" Judai's smile never left his face the twinkle in his eyes shining in excitement.
"A talent show! A fund raiser talent show to go along with the bake off." The boys cheered at this until a jock at the back of the bus raised his voice telling them to shut the fuck up and insult insult insult.
Johan nearly jumped out of his seat if it hadn't been for Jim gripping the boy by his hoodie as Blair got on the bus. Blair noticed this and looked at the back of the bus at Curtis. "Curtis you stupid ass. Stop acting all macho your a follower, so stop picking fights you can't win." The blonde stammered before huffing not looking at her anymore.
Johan looked at Blair before slouching in his seat. Instead of Blair taking her normal seat in the middle of the bus where the girls were already situated, she took the bench behind Syrus and smiled at the rest of them as the bus jerked into a going position.
"Does this mean we've been noticed by a girl?" Chazz blurts out making Blair grabs her stomach in laughter. She wipes a tear from her brown eyes brushing her long navy hair over her shoulder before giving them a smile. "I've always noticed you guys. Syrus is really nice, I figured his friends shouldn't be so bad either." Both Chazz and Judai look astonished and flustered as both males turned slightly pink at the somewhat compliment that Blair handed out.
"Nice going fellas you got complimented by a lady!" Hassleberry gave a cheer making both flustered males stammer in response to tell him to shut up. Jim laughed at their easy going and embarrassment. "Not used to the attention?"
The two don't speak the duration of the bus ride trying to rid the embarrassment on their faces as the bus rolled to a stop in their neighborhood as the 6 climbed off. Blair cried out as the door shut. "I'm getting off!" She thanked Dorothy as she stepped off.
"So gonna join us young Flanagan?" Jim chirped seeing her catch up to the group who semi walked down the block towards Judai's street. She laughs as she catches up keeping stride with Syrus. "It'll be fun. At least I think so!"
Unknowing to the group several students witness the display as the bus rolled away heading to another neighborhood. The large group of teens follow Judai as they walk through his street. Jim and Hassleberry took notice that the woods was just beyond the line of houses behind the houses.
"There it is! My house." Judai called out catching the attention of the others as they pass the last houses to the semi large more old fashioned designed house. It was simple had no color to it but what made it special was it had an attic and a basement.
Just beyond the backyard less house was a clear view of the woods which always caught visitors by surprise. The fact the Yuki family let nature be this close and not want to block it off.
"You got a nice place there, Mate." Jim slapped Judai's backside making the male jump out of his skin in surprise. He sweat dropped as he managed to get the key from his belt loop to unlock the door. "Ah! N-nobody's allergic to cats are they?" Hassleberry coughed casually and half lazily raised his hand. "It's less allergic and more like a sneeze situation."
"I-I got Benadryl I-if you need some…" The brunette sweats at his semi casual statement as he opens the door and turns on the light. The entry way went into the living room a spacious couch that fit three was up against the wall with the tv on the opposite end along with a record player. An arm chair was facing the door and a cat tree was by the small window that was covered by a thick curtain
The room split off to a hall way that led to a closet a large master bedroom the door to the basement and two bathrooms. There was a latch on the ceiling just passed the living room where it broke off heading to the kitchen where it spread wide enough for the dining room and the back door beyond that.
"Welcome to my house! Just drop your coats on the rack and let's head down stairs!" Judai was dropping his jacket and thick pull over to reveal a black almost sleeveless top underneath with the band name Evanescence sprawled across it.
"A band lover. Never took Judai to be a lover of music." Jim rambled off as he took off his thick trench coat droping it on the rack next to Hassleberry's Johan's and Blair's coat. Syrus and Chazz in turn just stuffed theirs into their bags and followed Judai as he entered the kitchen fixing drinks for everyone.
"Whoa whoa hang on there!" Blair ran over as Judai nearly split soda on his top. "I'll get the drinks. Nobody's picky right?" Everyone shook their head as Jim just took a water bottle from a plastic case on the floor by the fridge. "I'm good sweetheart. I gotta watch the sugar on myself." Jim took a heavy drink of the water half finishing it.
Blair Syrus and Hassleberry passed the drinks to the others as Judai holding his own glass lead the group throigh the living room to the door by the restroom.
"This is it!" Judai cheered proudly.
