Authors notes: i know a lot of stuff is happening, i'm gonna get it all connected in future chapters I have a list of notes for everything. I want to extend the mystery and the truth about the werewolves just a bit longer because I want to forge connections between characters first then hit it hard with the oncoming truth and judai's slow transformation. It's gonna be a slow burn with everything so stay with me on this. For now enjoy this chapter with Aster being the focus.
Aster stomped his foot annoyed. He had been kicking himself in the ass for not trying to get closer to Judai. Since the death of Bruce, who was threatening in his own right and made everyone fearful of even being caught next to the outcast.
It wasn't the brunette he wanted to get close to but the black haired bestie that Judai had. That's right Aster had a crush on the equally rich and cute as hell spit fire known as Chazz Princeton.
Even tho he was rich nobody liked the black haired male growing up because he wasn't an ass kisser like his older brothers nor manipulative. He was true to himself and didn't take shit from anyone and that confidence shown through for his best friends Syrus and Judai.
Aster had developed a crush on the black haired boy since middle school when he came from being home schooled for most of elementary school. He thought Chazz was cool in his own right. Often getting jealous at Judai for how close he was with the male.
He realized after two days that if he wanted to get close to Chazz he had to become friends with Judai. 'I just hope this goes well… I know people will be kinda suspicious considering he and I have been rivals in drama for a while.' Even back in middle school the two competed back when it was only an elective and not an extracurricular activity.
The only claim he had over Judai was that he was the president of the drama club while Judai was Vice President. The only reason being Judai didn't want the full responsibility of the group in what they were doing, he'd rather do his own thing and let others do theirs but that's not how a drama club was often run.
Since it was Wednesday he could have some extra talk time with Judai. Since it was drama club after school on Wednesdays. His driver pulls up to the school as the school bus pulls into the parking lot of the school and let out the students, Judai Chazz and Syrus being the first ones off the bus with Blair not being far behind chatting up with the three boys with a glaring group of girls behind her.
Aster narrowed his eyes at the girls. He knew the hierarchy with girls was very fragile and if the lowest one on the pole stepped out of line it was often met with retaliation. He had heard whispers about Blair having been almost raped in the courtyard Monday after school. And that the outcasts had been the ones to came to her rescue. Some of the students were kinda impressed that the outcasts would be willing to step up and kick the crap out of juniors.
He followed behind the group as he walked in and saw someone rush past him with brunette locks in a tight braid with indigo peeking out. This girl he remembered from yesterday. Stellar Campwell. Twin sibling to Bruce. He knew all about how after the Campwells divorced Stellar was taken by her mother out of state and had only returned cause of the memorial.
But what surprised him was seeing her converse with Judai hugging on his arm like a fan girl. The group chatted casually the brunette having a wide smile on his face. Aster had seen the brunette smile plenty of times but the smile he shared with the girl was of familial almost family related. He must see her as his own sibling from the way he messed with her hair even tho it was in its thick braid making her pout but break out in a short laugh.
The group eventually parted ways to head to class as Aster went his own way. His first class being gym. He noticed Stellar walk into the girls locker room Alexis not far behind, having the same class as he did. He was slightly annoyed. 'She better not stir up trouble…' the silverette thought as he walked into the locker room to change out of his own get up.
Since gym class was often mixed between the grades he had the unfortunate experience to have it with the school's senior delinquent Yusuke Fujiwara. The green haired male wasn't particularly bad, hell he didn't dress like a slacker, but he did have piercings especially in his left ear and eyebrows and that alone made the rather charming looking guy look like a delinquent. At least to Aster's perspective.
"Yo Aster, did you catch that dancing show last night? Pretty sick moves right?" Yusuke spoke up as the Silver haired rich boy stood next to him undoing his locker and grab out his slightly used gym clothes.
"I was only able to catch the first 10 minutes and the last 10. My dad changed the channel so he could catch the weather report, but the damn newbie reporter had trouble cause he wore a green tie to work and it caught the forecast for the later half of the week."
"What a bummer. I heard Nikkola was being a raging bitch again." Yusuke had gotten his shorts on as he went to strip out of his Iron Maiden heavy metal shirt which had a long sleeve black and blue stripped shirt underneath.
He rolled his eyes at the comment. He knew Nikkola was a raging bitch, the whole school knew it. She acted like the hierarchy disiplinarian by bulling the girls under her. "Yea, I heard she sicked some of the juniors on Blair Flannigan Monday after school."
"Damn that girl. If hitting a girl didnt make you look like a jackass in this school, I would've knocked her ass down for messing with my baby sister." Thats right Yusuke has a baby sister, a freshman who shared Drama class with him. She's more quiet than most of the class, so she never stood out. Aster couldn't even recall her name at the moment as he finished stowing his clothes in the locker and shutting the door.
He could hear yelling from inside the gym as him and Yusuke who just finished locking his locker ran out behind him following the Silverette to see the scene going on in the gym which was of Stellar Campwell standing over Nikkola, who shared their gym class. "JUST BECAUSE MY BROTHER WAS A HEAD HONCHO AROUND HERE DOESNT MEAN I WANT THE TITLE!" The brunette cried out. Aster looked confused as he approached the two.
"What's going on?" he asked cautiously to the wired glasses wearing girl who looked at him. "She dare ask me why I was spotted hanging with the boys labeled the 'Outcasts' and Blair-chan. It's nobody's business you hear me you flaming spitfire of pure bullshit!" She stomped her foot towards Nikkola who flinched back on the ground her arm across her chest trying to protect herself.
Aster and Yusuke gave the hot headed red head on the ground a cold look as the grou around them disbanded. "Friends are our choices. Bruce Campwell gave those three that label back in middle school. The fact the man's been dead for 4 days and you still follow the rules he put in place here, it's pure stupidity. He was a freshman for God's sake. You people sicken me."
His icy stare went to the golden haired girl standing nearby just watching the scene play out. "You need to set an example for your girls, otherwise I will start smacking heads. I dont give two shits worth a damn about your hair makeup and nails." She dropped her arms that were crossed her chest as she walked to Nikkola and kicked the girl in the arm, making her cry out.
"Stop acting like such a child. I hear one more thing about you bullying again and I'll make sure you get thrown out." her warning was clear as the dark green eyed girl glared at the ground, clicking her tongue. 'Damn them damn them all! They need to be put in their place! Especially Blair.' Nikkola thought in annoyance as she stood up and walked to the bleachers as the class begun.
Stellar looked to Aster and Yusuke a smile played on her face. "Thanks for that. You sound like a guy who knows exactly what he means." Yusuke smirked nudging Aster's shoulder who gave him a look as he spoke up. "Not exactly. I dont tend to hang out with anyone. Except this doofus." He nudged Yusuke back who laughed. The three walked to the bleachers as well.
"Well you can hang out with me and my friends at lunch. We're all freshman." Lunch was kinda seperated by grade, mostly between 9th and 10th graders being together and 11th and 12th graders, so he never had anyone to hangout with since Yusuke wasnt there.
Aster knew that Stellar was friends with the outcast group as he saw this morning when he walked to class, so he wasnt against it. He'd finally have a reason to not be hostile to Judai as well give him a reason to finally talk to Chazz and get to know him. He got a little flustered blushing which Yusuke ruffled his hair laughing.
"You still got a crush on Princeston?? Thats bold, Aster!" The green haired male chuckled making Aster jump into the air just to swip the top of his head giving the guy next to him a glare as he turned red from embarrassment.
"Princeton? Chazz-kun? No problem, hes one of my friends. I think you two would get along." Stellar giggles winking at Aster who was just flabbergausted at this point so he didnt bother responding, knowing fully well he would stammer. He huffed as the coach ordered everyone outside.
"He's kinda handsome, in a way." Aster knew he was gay himself as well as he knew Judai was gay as well. He had no shame in it. Aster however was more reserve with his gay label and only told people who understood or were in a similar situation. Yusuke claimed that he was Asexual because he dated enough bitches to know not to trust them and he couldn't imagine kissing a dude.
He figured he could trust Stellar because she was friends with Judai, tho he wasnt sure if she was aware of the other brunette being gay or not. He was guessing that Stellar was either lesbian or bisexual from the way she stared at some of the girls like they were the eyecandy and not the more muscular men that were in their gym class.
The day continued as the lunch bell rang for freshmen and Sophmores. As per the agreement he would wait in the courtyard under the Gazebo for the group for them to show up and for Stellar to drag him along with the group as they got lunch. not even 3 minutes after he arrived the full group came out Blair and Stellar laughing at something one of the three guys said.
Aster suddenly got a bit nervous as his cheeks paled with nerves as the group came closer. "ASTERRRR!" Stellar and her loud voice called out as she ran to the silverette making him choke on his own saliva as she ran up and hugged the male shocking everyone and even himself.
"E-EHHH??" The group behind her looked surprised as Aster casually hugged the girl back as she pulled back, winking at Aster before looking to her friends. "Aster helped me out in gym class!" she chirped happily still surprising the three males and Blair just laughed at their reactions.
The three looked as tho they caught a glimpse of Bigfoot and just couldn't decide what to make of it. "H-how… may i ask?" Judai sweated slightly looking at Aster hesitantly. Now Aster felt embarrassed as he ruffled the back of his head a small smile brushed his lips slightly.
"N-Nikkola was baggering her on who she was hanging out with. I just put that drama bitch in her place." He said it almost nonchalantly but his body language screamed he was nervous as hell to be there in that moment. This not only caught the group off guard but each person had a different expression.
Judai had a hint of rage in his eyes, Syrus was astonished, Chazz was smirking with interest in his eyes, and Blair almost looked pained. "You should've hit that girl…" Judai gritted out which made Chazz grasp the male's shoulders as they trembled with built up rage.
"Yuki, don't. We will pay her back for what she did." Aster looked between the two, knowing fully well what they were talking about as his gaze darted to Blair who clutched her hand to her chest, tears pricking her eyes as Aster walked to her and touched her arm making her look up. "You didn't deserve what she did to you." Aster gave her a calm smile making her trembling go away.
"Thank you…" The navy haired girl smiled at Aster the tears peeking in the corner of her eyes as he gives her a handkerchief to dab her eyes with. "Heh, kinda cool what you did, Phoniex. Didn't think you had in ya to badmouth a girl." Chazz teased playfully his hand half covering his mouth, hiding a playful grin behind it.
Aster turned bright red looking at the embody male as he quickly turned his head away, trying to hide his sudden fluster at Chazz's semi compliment. "O-of course I would do it! Girls shouldn't be treating each other like trash, no matter how wealthy or poor one maybe!" He announced boldly making Judai Syrus and Blair clap their hands, causing the silverette to get more flustered as he walks away, the group laughing and follow behind him into the cafeteria.
"Who knew he was cool like that?" Chazz laughed making Stellar giggle. "He was pretty cool!" The two continued the compliments until Aster bursted pout his face enflamed. "Ahhh! Enough praising me already damnit!" The group continue to tease the Silverette until he actually hid under the lunch table his face hot red from all the attention.
If that didn't make matters worse Yusuke who ditched his class to join the group in lunch walks into the room and spots Stellar waving at him. "Heyyyy Yusuke!!!" Aster banging his head on the underside of the table, shoots up with a flabbergasted look on his face to see his gym buddy walk in and sit next to him.
"Hey Aster! Whoaaa you actually did it man. Did you say anything yet?" The green haired doofus nudged his friend making the already flustered silver haired male glare at his friend. "Wow Aster I didn't know you were friends with a senior." Judai oohed as he shook hands with Yusuke.
Aster, too flustered and tongue tied to say anything laid his head on the table trying not to let his head burst into flames from all the attention he was getting. 'Maybe it's not too late to retreat back into hiding…' he thought sadly as Chazz took the seat in front of him and poked him with a fry.
"You look kinda cute when your all flustered like that ya know." Chazz crinkled his nose in amusement looking at the blue eyed male who gazed up at him under his bangs. Aster was speechless by his words as he scratched the back of his ear, trying to untie his tongue from the roof of his mouth. "T-t-thanks…" he managed to spit out.
Aster being the assertive shut in that he was had thoughts zooming left and right looking at the scene before him with anxiousness and eagerness. 'Should I..?' He thought looking down at the table. 'I've made my first impression and they think i'm great, outside of improving my impression on Judai… maybe I should…' Aster boldly stood up making their group look at him with wonder even Yusuke looking up with a Cheshire Cat grin seeing the expression his friend was giving off as Aster took a deep breath.
"Chazz Princeton! I like you! Please go out with me!" He said it so boldly and so loudly that it caught half of the cafeteria's attention… and then he realized the attention that was on him as he sweat bullets. All he could do in that moment was a tactical retreat as he grabs his bag and flees the cafeteria, the silence resuming as the cafeteria door shuts.
"What.. in the name of nine circles of hell was that?!" Judai spurted out making the noise resume in the cafeteria as people went back to their conversation.
Chazz who hadn't said a word the entire time, his face bright red and his dark ebony eyes swirled with surprise and a hint of delight. Syrus patted Judai on the back swiftly and surely. "That my dear Aniki, is how you confess to someone so boldly it leaves you speechless." Judai ohed silently before resuming eating his lunch.
Chazz just dumped his lunch and walked out of the cafeteria early wanting to think in silence.
