The new princess of Equestria (on hiatus)

When Twilight Sparkle's parents pass away and her brother is dying, Shining Armor asks the eldest princess to adopt Twilight and become her mother. Will Celestia agree to adopt the young purple pony? What will the said pony think about the princess adopting her? Will Twilight accept this huge change in her life?

7. Chapter 7

A\N: This chapter is going to have a three week time jump after chapter 6.

Celestia has never been happier in her entire life than right now: she's just signed the adoption papers for Twilight Sparkle, her student-now daughter. She looks over at her daughter who is smiling but it doesn't reach her eyes.

"Twilight, are you okay, my little niece?" Luna asks, walking over to her new niece. Luna and Twilight have really bonded these last few weeks, especially at the three funerals of her parents and brother three weeks ago.

"I'm okay, Aunt Luna." Both Celestia and Luna know that Twilight is lying but don't push her to tell them the truth. she'll tell them sooner or later.

"All right, Twilight, but just know that me and Celestia are here if you want to talk." The dark sister says, rubbing a hoof over her niece's mane, Twilight leans into her new aunt's side. "I know." The lavender pony says. Looking at her new mother, she smiles. "Can I speak to you please?" Twilight asks, Celestia nods. "Of course you can, Twilight." Celestia says before looking at Luna. "Why don't you get some rest, Luna?" Even though it's posed as a question, all three ponies know it's an order. Luna nods before leaving the room, pausing to kiss her niece and her older sister on their cheeks. Celestia smiles as she watches her daughter looks out of the window.

"Twilight, what did you want me to talk to me about?" Celestia asks. Twilight, not looking away from the window, sighs, Celestia too sighs, it's obvious her new daughter is in some kind of distress.

"It's just that..what will the kingdom think of the princess adopting a unicorn who used to be your student and who lost her parents not even three weeks after their deaths?" The young pony snorts angrily. Celestia sighs as she joins her daughter by the window.

"Don't worry about the kingdom, Twilight, just leave that to me and your aunt. It'll be fine, I promise." Celestia says softly. Twilight turns away from the window and hugs her new mother.

"Thank you, Mom." A smile forms on the older ponies face as her daughter pulls away from her. "Anytime, my daughter, now why don;t you go and play with your friends for a little bit, me and Luna need to talk about something." Twilight nods before hugging her new mother and walking out of the room, her hooves clicking against the castle floor as she goes to find her friends.
