AN: First update of the day. Stay tuned for more for my others. Drop some reviews if your enjoying so far.
Also, fair warning, I did say things were going to be slight AU and my timeline is something even I don't really know. Not the biggest Pokemon guy around.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything besides my content and my balls.
Chapter 2: The Escape.
We took off into the hallways and I was happy I didn't seem to have much coordination issues with my body.
Out of the hold, the path went in only one direction before we reached a hallway.
One end had a path of destruction leading to stairs along with a mangled corpse of what was probably a surprised pirate while the other way had four doors before a dead end.
I ignored the corpse and rushed toward the doors with the eevee's keeping up with me and all but used the human version of a tackle move to slam open the door.
In other words, I shoulder checked the door to save time.
The door slammed open and I found a room with only three larger cages.
Ripping off the tarps had me gulp as three intense pairs of eyes stared us down.
None of them were asleep.
A Seviper, Ursaring, and Wallrein if my memories aren't failing me.
All of them were in much thicker cages with what looked like electric currents on the bars.
There was a moment of silence as they all stared at me and I didn't move until it was broken as Eevee strolled forward without a care and started going off on them.
"Eev! Ee!..."
Their eyes moved to her and I shook my head.
'The novelty is wearing off, don't show weakness.'
I did chuckle a bit to see three big bad Pokemon looking like they were being scolded by a tiny Eevee though.
It only took a minute for her to nod imperiously and look at me before she pointed at the cages.
I patted her head in thanks and did my part as a good hooman to quickly unlock them.
The Seviper moved his head right up to my own and hissed at me but I just pointed at the door and after a moment of staring each other down it got the message and took off.
It seemed more interesting in escape or perhaps revenge. I didn't know and didn't care.
Ursaring and Wallrein surprisingly gave me a nod of thanks before they too left.
Hopefully they could provide some needed firepower.
""Ee.""
Two of the Eevee called for us to move, or I think they did, and we moved on to the next room.
This one held another three cages with three less hostile stares thankfully.
A Lairon, Quagsire, and Hitmonlee.
They were much quicker to agree when Eevee spoke up and I didn't wait long to get the cages open.
Hitmonlee shot me a salute and took off faster than I could follow. Lairon butted my leg with his metal head and I rubbed it in interest before it took off.
And when I say it took off, I mean it literally burrowed through the metal walls.
Quagsire didn't say anything but it was surprisingly quick with its waddling form of walking.
We didn't stick around and went to the third room but this one only held empty cages so we moved to the last one and this time only a single gaze made me stop.
A deep and angry growl resounded in the room and I held up my hands to show I wasn't an enemy even if it made my burns stretch.
A bit of pain wasn't a concern when I was being stared at by a full grown Charizard.
The room only held three cages like the others but only two were filled.
The main one held a large Charizard chained against the wall of its cage with a noticeable scar running along its face and a cracked horn.
It was giving us a dangerous look and even Eevee has frozen up so I decided to step forward here.
"Easy there buddy."
I took a step forward.
"We aren't with the pirates, they captured us as well."
I pointed to my burns and I saw the Charizard's eyes narrow.
It opened its mouth and the hair on the back of my neck stood up.
I acted without thinking and dove out of the way and covered the Eevee trio with my body as a flamethrower smashed past where I just stood.
It didn't hit me but the sheer heat aggravated my burns and my body clenched up from the trauma.
The lead Eevee didn't seem to like that.
"Eevee!"
She leapt past me and started shouting at the mighty dragon who looked taken aback by her actions.
I feared she was about to get torched and snapped out of my trauma to move to her when a banging sound resounded in the room and the Charizard's brow twitched while everyone turned to the other occupied cage.
A quadruple blue and black Pokemon was….running into the electric bars?
'The hell? Can't you see that….'
I paused my thought as I got a good look at it.
'Holy shit, that's a Deino. They fucking caught a baby pseudo legendary Pokemon? It's no wonder it keeps ramming the bars. It can't see.'
I remembered the dragon types from the games in my first memory set but it seemed my child's memories really loved dragons.
'I really need to go through these memories soon.'
Things were just popping up whenever something related appeared.
Charizard shouted at the baby dragon.
"Char!"
It seemed more fed up and annoyed than angry.
'I guess it was stuck in here with the hardheaded dragon ramming the cage repeatedly or something. Can't imagine that's a fun way to spend captivity.'
The Charizard turned back to us and tried to glare but the mood was already shattered. Eevee spoke a bit more and it reluctantly nodded.
Eevee looked happy as she pointed her paw at the cage door and I got the message.
This one was a bit more technical with buttons and images for different locks that kept the Charizard secured but I didn't have to be a rocket scientist to understand.
They are pirates, not researchers.
With each button I pressed, various locks came off and there was a warning red light that I ignored as I lifted the bar on the cage and opened the door.
I didn't even have to remove the physical chains since Charizard ripped them off himself with a grunt.
The metal was crumpled beneath its claws and I internally sweat at the sight but kept up a steady gaze as the fire dragon lumbered forward.
It paused in front of me and practically loomed over me like a giant to my young size.
I didn't falter under its gaze, something told me it wouldn't end well if I did.
After a moment, it seemed to be satisfied and nodded before it's wing lightly pushed me aside.
I didn't fight it but looked on curiously as it moved up to Deino's cage before it's claws took on a metal sheen and slashed the lock apart.
Deino followed the sound and broke through the cage door to body slam into Charizard's stomach like a rock hitting a boulder.
The Charizard looked down unimpressed as the Deino kept trying to push forward before it flicked a claw and sent the baby dragon stumbling.
"Char."
"Deeeii!"
The eevee's and I just stood there and watched for a moment as Deino kept trying to head butt Charizard and it flicked it away.
'… I guess this is a dragon thing?'
It didn't seem to be attacking but more like a junior and senior dragon conversing?
The Charizard had enough and flicked its tail hitting the Deino to us.
"Char."
It pointed a claw at us and I got the distinct impression it was telling the baby to say thank you.
Deino got up and moved over while sniffing the air.
I held out a hand but rapidly pulled it back as it tried to bite the appendage.
"Wo, easy there little guy."
"Ee!"
The lead Eevee spoke up and Deino bowed it's head a bit and approached carefully before it sniffed us.
'If I remember right, I think Deino can commit smells to memory if it likes something so it never forgets it.'
It was a weird feeling but at least it didn't try to bite me.
It butted it's head gently against my stomach and I patted it's head.
'Oohh, it's surprisingly soft.'
The black hair or fur? On its head was really soft while the blue skin underneath had a soft but scaly texture to it.
It seemed to enjoy my pat and licked my face, thankfully not on the side with the burns, and lumbered back.
The Eevee's talked with him in poke speech while the Charizard looked up and I got a dangerous feeling again.
Charizard took a deep breath in and I quickly wrapped my arms around the trio of Eevee's and turned around just as a massive burst of flame lit up the room practically like a laser beam.
The sounds of tortured metal and destruction reached my ears along with the distant sounds of screaming.
A grunt hit my ears and I turned back blinking spots and ignoring the twitching of my body from the flames as I gaped at the sight.
Charizard had just melted or smashed a hole through the layers of the ship all the way to the deck.
"CHAR!"
It bellowed angrily and I had no intention of getting in the way of its anger.
It's claw came down to grab the baby dragon under an arm as it shot us a final nod and flapped it's wings.
The mighty dragon took off into the hole and I heard another roar as it reached the outside.
The trio of Eevee and I just stood there gaping like small animals for a moment.
"…."
"*Cough*, right. We should get moving."
"""Ee."""
There was no disagreement from their side.
It might have seemed like a long time but in reality only a few minutes had passed.
We took off back into the hallway and headed for the stairs. I didn't think trying to reach and climb out of holes of molten and sharp metal was a good idea for my human body.
The way up was clear and the next floor was a scene of destruction as the Pokemon tide had passed through.
I checked the rooms but didn't see any more cages so I assumed they only kept Pokemon on the bottom of the ship.
I found a knife in one of the rooms, a guardroom or lounge of sorts if I understood right, before I moved on.
The third floor is when I hit the first signs of chaos.
Pokemon were battling Pokemon as a few pirates were shouting commands at their partners.
They were blocking off the only path to the stairs and I had to pass them to get through.
The Pokemon battling were among the weaker ones so I assumed the stronger had passed by without anyone daring to stop them.
Either way, I was stuck.
'I can't wait long here. Wait…. this is reality, not a game. Nothing says you can't target a trainer rather than the Pokemon.'
I turned to the Eevee and gestured for them to crouch down as they followed me and we hid behind some debris.
Two Pokemon were fighting close by and slamming into each other angrily while the pirate was focusing on two different battles and not paying attention to his surroundings.
'A chance.'
I moved quickly and closed the distance between us.
Now, my current body was small, I was injured on one side, and there really wasn't much I could compare to a grown adult. But regardless, a blade can close the gap easily enough.
I didn't hesitate and jammed the knife into his throat before pulling back and moving away.
The man didn't even notice what was happening before it was too late and gurgled on blood as he fell while trying to hold his neck.
I snatched the pokeball belt from him and with movements I recalled from my child's memory of being given a pokeball to play with, even if there was nothing inside it, I enlarged the ball and pointed it at the fighting Pokemon.
I watched in fascination as a red beam shot out and recalled the Pokemon into their balls.
"Holy shit. Technology is insane in this world."
The Pokemon who were freed from their fights ignored me and charged the other pirate blocking the entrance who was fighting his own battles.
He didn't even see it coming before he got cut down by a razer leaf attack. I quickly moved to recall the Pokemon from the fallen pirates balls.
That left me with the dilemma of having four pokeballs holding Pokemon.
'What the hell do I do with them? Is it ok to just leave them? Would they die? Do I take them with me and try to free them?'
I was a bit stuck so I decided to ask them.
I pointed the pokeball away from me and released one of them.
A Sneasel appeared and looked around.
I didn't have time to do this carefully so I took the blunt route.
"Hey, your trainer is gone. Do you want to be free?"
The Pokemon looked at the dead body of its trainer and looked back at me before doing the equivalent of a shrug.
It didn't look angry or bothered at all.
'No love lost huh?'
I smashed the ball against the wall and it broke apart.
The Sneasel sent me a nod and dashed for the stairs.
"Ok, not bad."
The next three were a mixed result.
Two of them agreed to be freed and ran for the stairs while the last tried to attack me.
I dropped that one's ball and left it. If it survived or not was not my problem.
It might seem callous but I don't believe in justice. Morality isn't split into light and dark; everything is a case by case scenario.
I killed that man because he stood in my way and trying to knock him out would make things harder for my current situation.
'I'll do what I have to do without hesitation. I can grieve and reflect when I'm safe. Besides, they raised their weapons first so they forfeited their chance of mercy.'
This body was literally killed an hour or two ago without a second thought.
I also believe everyone has a choice. I gave the Pokemon a choice and it rejected my help. If it lives or dies isn't my problem.
I'm not a hero, I'm just me.
"Ee!"
I broke out of my thoughts at eevee's call and saw her standing at the stairs urging me on.
The other two were jumping up and down and basically telling me to hurry up and I laughed.
'Right, focus on the now.'
The next floor up was similar to the third but with more chaos and pirates.
I took another two lives on this floor and released or left pokeballs as called for.
It was the fifth floor where I found something else.
After the fighting was done, I found the engine room.
Pistons and gears were moving all over the place and loud volumes and the eevee's refused to step inside while they held their paws over their ears.
My heart dropped at the sight though.
'Please don't tell me we are on the open water.'
Thankfully, I found a porthole and saw an island right next to the ship and sighed in relief.
'Good, they didn't leave yet but were getting ready to go.'
I did see that the sun was setting so we had to move.
My eyes narrowed at the room.
'This is a good chance.'
I dashed back into the hall and started going through rooms to find something flammable.
I was hoping for some explosives but didn't put my hopes on it.
Thankfully I found a storage room with barrels of rum.
"Good enough. Ha, pirates and rum, how cliché."
I roped the eevee's into helping me and we rolled a couple barrels from the room to the engine room.
Well I say helped but they just seemed to have fun walking on the rolling barrel.
They waited outside the engine room as I made a hole in the barrel's with my knife and started pouring the liquid on all the pistons and machines.
I threw a whole barrel into one section as it smashed apart before I left a trail of liquid to the outside of the door.
That left me standing there looking stupid as I forgot to find a lighter.
'Fucking hell.'
I tore through a few rooms with the Eevee's seemingly going with the flow and tearing stuff up to copy me.
Took me a few tries, but I found a lighter in the end.
It was quite similar to a zippo in design from outward appearance.
It had an Ash colored metallic casing with flame like designs on both sides.
At the top it had a single word in cursive script.
{BLAZE}
I flinched a bit at the thoughts it brought but my hand clenched around it and refused to let go.
I wasn't going to let some trauma beat me.
It wasn't even my trauma; it was the trauma from the child's memories.
'I am not that child, I am me.'
The more I repeated it to myself the stronger I felt.
When I reached the engine room door I flicked open the lighter and my thumb froze on the flint.
My mind was telling my thumb to move but my body wasn't moving.
'Come on. Move damn it!'
My hand was trembling.
'I might not have a name, but I think therefor I am! I . Am . Me! I am the master of my body, the captain of my soul, I will not let this fucking trauma control me!'
My mind was hurting from the strain as I tried to force it.
I felt sick, nauseous, dizzy, and an assortment of feelings but I pushed through it.
My eyes trailed the word on the cover.
{BLAZE}
The image of a flame was born from that word in my mind, except this one wasn't accompanied by the fear but by a feeling of hope.
My thumb moved weakly but it did the job and a flame sparked to life.
I almost lost my grip on the lighter before I clenched my hand.
"Eev."
""Ee.""
I looked down and saw the three Eevee between my legs looking up at me and I sent them a weak but proud smile.
"I'm fine, sorry for the wait."
I lowered the lighter to the alcohol and set it ablaze.
I didn't step back from the flames but stood there and watched as I made sure the fire reached the engines before I stepped away.
'You can do anything if you set your mind to it.'
I waved to the Eevee.
"Come on you three, let's get out of here before something blows up. We need to get off this ship."
"""Ee!"""
We ran up the stairs with my knife, my new lighter in my pocket, and a few bottles carried under my good arm.
When I found the barrels of rum, I found a couple bottles on the side and realized it would be a very useful weapon.
The next two floors were full of combat.
I only directly took one life with a Molotov cocktail knocking someone down before he was killed by a Pokemon while for the rest I played interference with the Eevee.
We threw things, tossed ropes, stole pokeballs form belts and tripped up the pirates to get them out of the way and they were quickly overwhelmed by the crowd of angry Pokemon.
I made sure to check each room for a sign of the child's parents but didn't see anything.
The next floor was where I reached the deck and I realized it was already dark out.
The sun had set on my climb up and while I could still see, it would get difficult soon.
But the deck is where the main action was happening.
My eyes opened wide from the stairwell at the literal battlefield happening on the deck.
All of the 'bigger' Pokemon I freed from the side rooms were here battling it out with Charizard leading the pack.
There were half a dozen pirates fighting them with their own Pokemon.
They seemed to be the elite of the pirate/poacher group as they were holding their own even with the odds against them.
Their Pokemon were also generally stronger than wild and probably starved Pokemon.
Big and flashy moves, shouts from each of them, and the shaking of the ship were painting a chaotic battlefield.
And it was one I could take advantage of.
I waved at the Eevee.
"Come on."
We needed to get out of here but I had to make sure there was no pirates left to hunt me down.
The ship was screwed and there was only one island in sight. And I was sure there wasn't any pirate still alive below deck which left everyone up here.
My eyes scanned the deck looking for an opening.
The ship was a mix between wood and metal with parts of the wood already burning from fire attacks and the metal groaning as the ship was rocketing dangerously and spewing smoke from the inside.
The smoke blew right by where one of the pirates were standing and I made a move.
I signaled the Eevee to wait while I crouched low and under the cover of the smoke and the rising dark, I got right behind him and jammed my knife into the side of his neck.
Except this time the man was faster than I expected and managed to grab my hand before I could let go.
He turned with wild eyes as he pulled out his own knife and went to slash at me before I could get away but just then Eevee jumped in and bit his hand.
The man gurgled a scream as he couldn't speak with the knife in his throat.
I kicked his knee while he was off balance and jerked out of his grip while wrapping a hand around Eevee with my injured side to get her away.
The wince of pain went unbothered by me as me and Eevee stared down the man as he fell and struggled before going still.
"Thanks girl."
"Ee."
I grabbed his pokeballs and quickly used the recall function.
I couldn't tell which was his but the pokeball didn't seem to need a direction. It recalled its holder.
Two of them didn't come back. It seemed they were dead already from the fighting.
The Hitmonlee noticed my actions and sent me a salute as it blurred and using the opening, a brutal kick practically snapped one of the men in half.
I winced slightly at the sight but didn't hold any sympathy.
The battle quickly turned against the elite pirates but that was when I heard a certain voice shout over the chaos.
"Get back in you cage you fucking piece of merchandise!"
My eyes narrowed at that voice.
"*Tsk* you don't want to cooperate huh? Slugma, kill the brat. Flamethrower."
It was the same one.
The captain who killed the original child of this body.
I followed the voice to a higher section where I could make out the form of a large man widely yelling as three Pokemon on his side fought against the Charizard.
And boy was that Charizard a monster.
I got closer and didn't have to worry about the elites as they were slowly being overwhelmed.
The captain was fighting the Charizard with four Pokemon against the one and was still being pushed back.
A Houndoom, Weavile, Cacturn, and the Slugma.
I grit my teeth at the sight of the last one.
The lava slug was standing on a piece of metal while blocking the flame attacks with its own.
But seeing the slug and the glow that lit up its surrounding cued my eyes into what lay nearby its form.
Two burnt up bodies.
My hands clenched tightly and my nails pierced the skin of my palms at the sight.
The bodies were clearly who I recalled them as.
They were still wearing half of the usual lab coat's I saw them wear in my memories.
The child's parents were dead.
I didn't even have to check the bodies for a pulse, the heads were practically missing.
I dipped my head as a few tears fell.
The emotional attachment might have been weak, but the memories still showed with actions how much the parents loved their child.
'Huh… I wonder why I feel pain in my chest. I'm not the child right? It's just his memories…right?'
I didn't know.
And I didn't have time to figure it out.
Eevee pressed up against me and I looked into her eyes as she stared back.
"Eev."
I nodded to her and patted her head gently.
"Yeah."
'I'll deal with it later. For now…'
A strong sense of anger was pointing at the pirate captain and the Slugma.
I didn't really care whether the Pokemon really cared about its actions of not. I was just angry and wanted to act.
It might not have been wise and it might not have been logical but my next actions sure as hell felt right.
I broke open the top of the last bottle of rum I had, ripped off a piece of my shirt and stuffed it in and soaked it before pulling out my lighter and lighting it up.
'Blaze you fucker.'
I didn't care to confront him. I didn't care if he knew who killed him. I didn't have any desire to showboat or declare my presence.
I just wanted him dead for my own sake, and the sake of the two good people who died so cruelly.
I tossed the bottle with my good arm and it smacked right into the head of the captain as it doused him in flaming liquid.
"AHhhh! What the fuck!?"
His Pokemon turned at his shout and Charizard didn't miss the chance to take out the Weavile and Cacturn with a powerful flamethrower that gouged a massive hole into the ship.
The blast of wind from the attack sent the Slugma skidding away to the wooden part of the ship and it immediately set on fire from its lava body.
The Houndoom turned back just as Charizard dove in and the two tangled in close combat.
The captain was on the ground rolling around and trying to put out the flames.
Meanwhile I was wincing in pain.
That throw I did wasn't easy on my burns.
I put everything I had into that throw and the energy I got from Eevee was running out.
Still, I didn't plan to leave this unfinished.
I charged at the captain who was standing up while he was doing a good job of putting out the flames and shoulder checked his side with all my weight.
The three Eevee seemed to recognize the man as well because they joined me.
A light white glow emanated over them before they all shoulder checked the man as well.
The force from all four of us was enough to throw the grown man backward, directly headfirst into the recovering Slugma.
I watched on emotionally as the man crashed into conscious lava and ate away at him before the burning wood cracked and the two fell overboard.
The man was dead before he hit the water and the lava slug died a few seconds later as it was broken apart by the water.
I didn't get a chance to ponder on it to long as the ship finally seemed to not be able to take it and an explosion resounded from the inside and blew out a portion of the ship.
The Pokemon still on board jumped over and swam for the island with the help of some of the water Pokemon as the ship lurched and moaned while it took on water.
The shaking of the explosion threw me off my feet like a ragdoll and the three Eevee clung to me in fear.
My arms wrapped around them.
"Don't worry, I got you."
"Ee!"
I nodded and took unsteady steps towards the edge.
"I hope you three know the doggy paddle or something."
I got a paw to my cheek for my sass and laughed at the absurdity of it all before jumping.
I put my back to the water to cover the Eevee from impact.
The cold water slammed into me like mud at first and threw me for a loop but that wasn't the real issue.
No.
I made one fatal error in judgment.
The real issue was.
This was salt water.
I spasmed in the water as my left arm, shoulder, side of my neck and face exploded in pure agony and let go of the Eevee as they stayed afloat.
My mind blanked under the pain as the salt water aggravated my burns something fierce.
I wasn't even able to move. I was paralyzed in pain as I sunk.
The sounds of the sinking ship were much louder under water and my eyes took in the sight of the sinking ship while flames managed to momentarily rage inside and create flashes of light before being snuffed out.
It was majestic in a way.
To see reality in such a way.
To witness the power of it all.
It had a strange beauty.
And then the darkness came as my consciousness blurred.
The last thing I felt before blacking out was being jerked away by something, a loud roar, and the calls of Eevee.
After that it was just darkness.
Comfortable and silent darkness.
*Line Break*
Turning the clock back a few hours, another change was brought to the world at the moment that the new soul was born from the combination of the child and college student.
Deep inside a secluded mansion on the outskirts of Saffron city, in a location off the beaten path of any known routes, a certain clan lived in peace.
A clan that had stood strong for hundreds of years.
The members of the main clan dwindled and the distinction between direct line and branch line members had been thrown away.
The warlike mindset of the past was done away with for a more peaceful tune until such time as it was needed again.
The clan itself was down to but a few members but they made up for numbers with those who flocked to their banner under invitation or through seeking out guidance.
They were known as the Renkon Clan.
The clan of the lotus.
The clan of psychics, humans with a powerful connection to psychic abilities, who sought self-control and inner peace with their abilities.
To achieve enlightenment in their minds like a lotus flower rising from the murk of the marshes and remaining pure.
And in this time of peace and prosperity, among the final few true members of the ancient clan, a child was born with tremendous potential.
A once in a century genius talent.
However, sometimes in life, talent can be dangerous not only for those around the holder, but for the holder itself.
One such case was with a young girl.
A girl by the name of Sabrina Renkon.
Sabrina was a very cute young girl with long purple hair and clear red eyes.
The eight year old girl was currently in her bedroom within the mansion with her face scrunched up in pain as she held her head.
'How much longer must this pain continue?'
For as long as she could remember, which is the from the time of birth and even faded memories of her time in the womb itself, her psychic powers had always been to powerful.
They weren't as bad in her early years but by the time she reached six years old they already began to grow out of her control.
She began to hear the thoughts of all those within a certain distance.
She wasn't reading their memory, it was only surface thoughts, but it was happening regardless of her control for everyone in a certain distance.
Other psychics had rudimentary defenses on their mind that allowed them to be around her early on but after two years, she was already unable to be around adults of her clan.
Only her parents and a few elite members could still resist but she didn't know how long that would last as well.
And it wasn't only telepathy, but telekinesis and teleportation were issues as well.
Whenever her emotions got to intense, things ended up floating without her control and when she was frightened she teleported without control.
Empathy was another issue. She didn't want to feel the emotions of everyone around her, it was suffocating.
The final ability she currently knew of, and she hoped for no more, was precognition, one thing she both was thankful for and hated beyond all the others.
She could see the future, but only glimpses.
And the future is always changing, there wasn't a set path that could be confirmed.
There was probabilities and higher potential paths but nothing for certain.
And no matter how many times she looked; she could never find an end to her pain.
All she ever saw was glimpses of a grown up version of herself, looking emotionless and cold.
In other visions she saw herself as a criminal and used by a group called team rocket.
In others she saw herself being a powerful and feared leader.
But no matter how many times she looked; she didn't see a single one where she was happy.
Happiness and peace.
That's all she truly wanted.
She wanted to have fun, be in control of her powers, and to be happy and free.
But all she could see was the chains of life taking her in a single direction. A direction with multiple paths, but none of them bringing her what she truly wanted.
And she knew all this from the very beginning of her life.
How truly sad is that? To be born with great power, and for the power to tell you that you can't ever find what you want.
It was cruel.
But it was reality.
It wasn't as if she saw full scenes of the future, just glimpses and fragments that could often be misunderstood unless the full picture was taken in.
And some places in time were voids where she could only see before and after.
Sabrina was already growing more emotionally contained and she was only eight years old.
Her mind was beyond her usual age but she had still only lived so long.
So there she sat, alone in meditation as she practiced diligently to hone her powers.
The visions she saw of paths where she didn't train were much worse than ones where she did.
It was then that her mind reeled as her eyes fogged over and she was brought into a vision.
Her precognition sometimes activates based on her desires rather than intentions.
And she desired an end to her pain. She desired happiness.
So when this vision came, it took her breath away.
She was older, couldn't be more than twenty, resting in a grove in some forest. Her hair had grown longer, she was taller, her figure grown out with a full chest and beautiful figure.
That wasn't unusual. She had seen her future self-numerous times.
What was unusual however, was that she was sleeping ON someone.
Something that never happened before.
It was a man.
A man with long vermillion hair and vermillion eyes with interestingly enough slightly slit pupils.
He was tall, broad shouldered, had a wild feeling to him, and a gentle smile on his face as gazed down at her head that was resting on his chest.
One arm was wrapped around her waist as his other hand moved gently through her hair.
She saw a smile of pure contentment on her face before something strange happened.
Her own eyes snapped open in the vision and took on a glowing purplish hue while the man's eyes gained the same tint and then they both….looked right back at her.
Sabrina froze.
That wasn't possible.
The two seemed to smile at the vision shattered and Sabrina reached out a hand.
"No!"
She didn't want to lose it.
She didn't want the first hint of a happy future for herself to disappear.
But her mind began to grow hazy.
That single vision and the result of it was too much for her current self and her sight blurred.
She understood that she needed to rest or risk injury.
But there was one thing she was sure about.
A new future path had opened to her, and she would be damned if she let it go.
