"Watching you fight was quite entertaining, It has been so long since I have been able to watch a ruikenian fight, I had given up on searching for survivors of the lost tribe, the last place I assumed I might find one is at Hyrule Castle" Ganondorf's voice radiated power, Link listened intently, trying to figure out just who this man was.
"I hail from Gerudo city in the south west of this continent. I came here out of formality for the King, but I guess it was worth my while after all. Anyway, I wanted to invite you to come and fight in my arena" Link had heard of the legendary colosseum, many fighters and warriors from all over the continent and further come and fight there.
"You aren't quite as good as some other ruikenian warriors I have met in my lifetime, but I can sense a great potential in you and would love nothing more than to see you reach it and then finally I might be able to fight someone who can give me the same feeling in a fight as that man did." Ganondorf's grin continued to grow with each word and near the end Link was pretty sure the man was frothing like a starving, rabid dog.
"Not a lot of people would be as straightforward as you, and I can't lie, I have been interested in fighting in the colosseum. You've told me what you get from all this, but what do I get out of it" Link maintained eye contact with the rather excited man as he nodded along to what Link said.
"Yes of course I can't expect you to come and fight merely for my entertainment. This is what I offer, I will help you reach your true potential, and should you win in this upcoming tournament I will reward you with the many relics of your tribe I have collected and something else that will have to wait until then, think of it as a surprise." Ganondorf once again was practically shaking with excitement as he spoke with Link. Link himself was reeling from the shock that this man had collected relics of his tribe, he wanted to demand for the man to hand them over, but knew that would lead to nowhere. As determination filled him, Link made up his mind.
"I accept, you will see me there, when is it?" Link spoke eagerly, causing Ganondorf to let out a chuckle.
"In 4 weeks on Monday, I can not wait to see how you do Link. For now this will have to be goodbye." With that Ganondorf made his way towards the royal family to say his goodbyes, just as the Zora Queen had done. Deciding he had done enough "mingling" , Link began looking for Kagami.
Impa wiped her tears away as she looked at Kagami. She realised that Kagami couldn't just re-enter the party. The king expected her to kill him after gaining any and all information out of him. She voiced her inner turmoil to Kagami who took a pose of deep thought before speaking.
"I will henge into someone else and sneak out the back. You must somehow inform Link of the situation and tell him to meet me outside after he tells the King he is going to go look for me. After doing this you should tell the king that you have successfully got rid of me. Tell him that I refused to tell you anything" with that said, Kagami put his hands together in a sign and with a puff of smoke, transformed into your everyday Hylian trader. Impa nodded her head and created an already henged clone which immediately set out to do its job. Whilst she headed back to the King.
Impa walked over to the table grinning at Zelda as the girl waved excitedly at her, Impa saw the girl as a younger sister of sorts.
"I'm sorry for not being able to win that short battle for you my lady" Impa spoke in a teasing tone to Zelda.
"Don't be silly Impa and how many times do I have to tell you, it's just Zelda" she spoke in a tone that showed they had had this discussion multiple times. Impa once again grinned at the girl before walking over to the king and leaning into his ear she whispered.
"It's done sir, he won't be causing any problems from now on, however, he did not give up any information on the boy, speaking of, what is so special about the boy?" The king looked rather annoyed at the lack of information as he let out a sigh before speaking.
"I will explain soon, don't worry, well done, you may return to Zelda's side now" just as he was saying this Link walked over to the royal table, a wave of memories hitting Impa signalled that her clone had informed him of the plan. Link remained somewhat stoic as he approached the table.
"It appears Kagami has disappeared, I am going to leave now and go look for the old fool. Once again, happy birthday princess." With that Link turned without bowing which instantly made the Queen frown. Meanwhile Zelda was still confused about this weird boy. Just as he took a step Link turned around met eyes with the King before he spoke,
"For your sake, I hope nothing has happened to Kagami" as the King stared into Link's midnight blue eyes, he was once again on a battlefield staring across at not Kharmerr, but Link as his royal soldiers lay dead at Link's feet. Blinking he realised he had spaced out as Link was already half way out of the hall. A cold sweat dripped down his forehead as he took a deep breath before downing what was left of his drink.
Link stepped out into the dark night and began heading towards the carriage, stepping in he sat next to Kagami, who had already snuck inside wearing the appearance of a butler. Link and Kagami nodded to each other as the carriage set off. This time the whole carriage journey was spent by Link telling Kagami all the people he met and his plans to enter the Gerudo colosseum and about the supposed Geruod king Ganondorf. While Kagami told Link of what happened with Impa, which also meant LInk finally got to learn about what caused the Uchicha's to be outcast.
"If you plan to enter the colosseum then you will need to become stronger, if I do not deem you strong enough then you will not be going" Kagami's voice was resolute, showing Link wasn't going to be able to argue about this.
"How am I supposed to become stronger? I can add to my usual training regime, but that won't do much" Link was genuinely confused about what he could do to make himself stronger in the matter of weeks.
"It's simple, I want you to unlock your chakra network. Once you have done that, I will train you in ninjutsu and depending on you, genjutsu as well" Kagami finished speaking as the carriage pulled back up to the village. Link's eyes widened as Kagami stepped out of the carriage as if nothing happened. After a minute of pure shock, Link jumped out of the carriage and went straight home. Stripping out of his rather gruesome outfit, Link fell asleep almost immediately.
Thousands of bodies lay at his feet as many more charged at him, only to meet the same fate. Suddenly the scenery changed, he was sitting atop a throne looking out at a land he didn't recognise as people cheered for him. Once again he was on a battlefield slaughtering everything in his path, an overwhelming feeling of power coursed through his veins and his very being as he drenched all he saw in his enemies blood. Jumping up out of bed, Link breathed in heavily, sweat was dripping off of his body and head. What the fuck was that? Link asked himself. It must have been a dream of sorts, but it felt so real, he could see, smell, taste, hear and feel every little thing. Shaking his head, Link played it off as nothing more than a weird dream. After getting changed and washed, Link left his house and made his way over to the village hall in hopes of getting some advice from Kagami.
"No" was the only answer he received, the second Link walked into the hall. "This is something you must figure out on your own, if I find out you had help, you won't be going to the colosseum" Link left the hall sighing. There goes his plan of asking Midas for some help. After some thinking Link decided to head towards the library in hopes of a book explaining how to unlock his chakra network. Once again LInk was turned away the second he walked through the doors.
"Sorry Link, we've been told by Kagami not to let you in" damn. There goes that plan as well. Link could feel his anger rising, how on earth was he supposed to do this? Link left the street and headed towards the nearest training grounds. Hours had passed as Link continually unleashed everything onto the numerous dummies around, his knuckles were dripping with blood and his legs were red raw from kicking the wood so much. His plan was to push himself so far that his chakra would kick in as a last resort to try and keep him alive. After another hour or two Link started to feel something settling in his stomach before he finally dropped to the floor exhausted, he couldn't move at all.
"Was this your big plan?" a voice came to him from his left, Kagami. Link barely rolled his head and faced Kagami.
"What else was I supposed to do? I thought it might kick in like adrenaline ya know?" Link's voice wobbled with fatigue as he spoke.
"Chakra isn't something we are born with like adrenaline. If it was, everyone would have it. No it's more like muscles, everyone has the capacity for them, but most people don't do the work necessary to actually have them" Kagami's voice resonated in Link's ears.
"It's impossible to train a muscle when you don't know where that muscle is, your analogy sucks" Link had regained some energy in his anger at Kagami making it sound easy.
"It's not impossible no matter how much it feels like it is. There was one man who did exactly what you are trying to do now, your father. Now, that is all the help I am willing to give. Good luck" with that Kagami walked away, leaving Link reeling. Snapping back to reality, Link's energy seemingly returned from nowhere as he was once again determined, if his father could do it, then he can do it. The sun was starting to set, Link vaguely realised as he stared up at the sky thinking about what Kagami had told him. Link sat up cross legged and began meditating, if pushing his body to the limit didn't work this might. After hours of doing careful breathing and emptying his mind, he once again felt like something was settling in his stomach before it was dashed away as his heart rate increased the second the feeling hit. He tried some more and once again, the same thing happened.
Cursing out Link punched the ground mid way through his third meditating attempt as the feeling blossomed except he felt it spike as through the punch. Link's eyes shot open, it was so obvious. He would have to just try and combine both meditating and pushing his body to its limit. Standing up, Link approached the dummy and began taking his deep meditating breaths as he began throwing punches and kicks at the dummy. Eventually the feeling began to appear again, Link increased his pace of attacks at the dummy, whilst maintaining his breathing pattern and keeping his head empty. The feeling slowly began to increase alongside Link's speed before the feeling exploded throughout his body and into his limbs as Link sent a kick to the dummies head taking it clean off. Link took a step back as what could only be chakra flowed through his body.
Kagami was in the middle of a council meeting about everything that had happened at the ball when the doors burst open. Everyone looked up to see Link storming in. Kagami let out a sigh of disappointment and opened his mouth to reprimand Link when all of sudden a blue aura exploded into life around Link's body. Everybodies breathing halted immediately as Link's overwhelming aura was forced onto everybody. Kagami's eyes widened as he signalled for Link to shut it off, which he did immediately.
"What's wrong? I thought this was what you wanted me to do?" Link's voice showed clear confusion and worry. Everyone was still stunned into silence and it took awhile for Kagami to speak.
"You did what I asked of you, don't worry, it's just your chakra is unnaturally potent that it's feeling alone stifles the air, but do not worry boy, this is an incredible thing. Go and rest for now, your body will need it. I am proud of you" Kagami's voice conveyed his pride in Link. The boy smiled and nodded before he left the room.
"Kagami, what was that?" a counclemen asked in a wobbly voice, clearly shook by what just happened.
"Link has unlocked his chakra network" Kagami spoke proudly causing everyone's eyes to widen further. Kagami pitied the people Link will fight in the colosseum, as the last time Kagami felt like that was when he watched Madara and Kharmerr fight.
