Thank you for the reviews! I am excited to see where this story will go and I hope you enjoy the journey. This chapter is written from Sara's perspective as she tries to figure out what she needs to do. Hope you enjoy!
Sara hears Gil's question, but she can't respond. Not yet. She breathes and sits in the other chair. She recognizes that she is having to make a choice for both her and her son. If she and he are willing to let Gil back into their lives in some capacity. She wanted to avoid this for a reason. It meant opening up her heart to possible hurt and that Gil could possibly hurt her boy. She couldn't bear the thought of him hurting Henry. He didn't deserve that no child did.
Sara is lying in bed with Gil cuddling and she can't help but smile. "I can't remember feeling so content." Gil chuckles, "truthfully, neither do I." Sara purses her lips and enters a deep thought. "Do you think we should even be trying to become parents? I mean you know my family history… i worry I shouldn't eve put a child through that. What about something like a murder gene? What if I passed that to a child?" Gil shook his head and replied, "Sara look at me. Look at me please." Sara turned her face to him. Gil said, "You would be one of the best mothers I could ever think of. You have seen so much pain and you would do your best to make sure that our child would never have the kind of childhood. I would love the opportunity to parent with you if that was something we both wanted of course." He trailed off.
Sara comes back to herself and smiles. He deserves a chance to know Henry even if he doesn't want to be a part of our life maybe he should at least meet the boy. However, what if he hurts him? She can stand Gil hurting her or she tries to, but to hurt Henry… she shakes her head. I can't let him do that. She sighs, but he deserves the chance to meet him. Even if it's just once, he deserves to meet the boy.
She continues going back and forth in her mind before eventually looking at Gil. She sees tears in his eyes as he tries to process the news. He's scared isn't he? He's afraid that I'm going to say no and he will live his whole life not knowing his son.
She breathes unsteadily and stands up. "You… you can meet him." She steadies herself. "You can meet him, but I don't want to explain to him who you are just yet. That is a conversation we can have at a later time."
Gil looks up at her with tears in his eyes, "I can respect that, Sara." He stands up and looks at her, "lead the way."
