Peter's eyes open but his vision is a little blurry at first. Peter sits up and looks around.
"This isn't my dorm"Peter said as he got up and walked towards the mirror in this unknown dorm.
Peter looks at the mirror and saw where he was slashed on his body were now covered with bandages including his left cheek. He looked down and saw he still had his web shooters on.
"What the hell? What's going on?"Peter asked himself
"You're awake"Peter hears a voice and looks back to see it was Gwen, carrying a laundry bag
"Gwen, uh...it's not what it looks like"Peter said
"So, you're not bandaged up in my dorm looking at my mirror because I brought you here"Gwen said
"What? You brought me here? This is your dorm?"Peter asked
"Yeah, it is. I didn't know you were Spider-Man, Peter"Gwen said as she brought out his suit.
"Well I didn't want anyone to know"Peter said
"Well, you're lucky I came to your dorm room when I did, if I haven't then you would've bled out and died"Gwen said
"Look, don't think I'm not grateful or anything, I am. But, just give me my suit so I can-"Peter said
"Go back out there and look for that thing, and almost get yourself killed again"Gwen said
"Well I was going to say so I can go look for the Jackal"Peter said
"The Jackal?"Gwen asked
"That's the thing, that's what it calls itself"Peter said
"Really? The Jackal? Couldn't it have came up with something better?"Gwen asked
"Well I kind of helped it name itself"Peter said
"You couldn't have thought up a better name"Gwen said
"I didn't directly help name it okay, I just said it laughed like it was some kind of Jackal and he just liked the name"Peter said
"But why does it have to be named after an animal, how many villains have you fought that have been named after animals?"Gwen asked
"Like four but I feel like we're getting off topic here"Peter said
"Yeah, I think that too"Gwen said before she began walking towards his the door.
"Where are you going?"Peter asked
"Don't worry about it"Gwen said as her hand reached towards the doorknob.
Peter shoots his web at Gwen and pulls her towards him and she spins around before bumping into him.
"Ok, that was both weird and cool at the same time"Gwen said
"You're not going after that guy, are you?"Peter asked
"No..no"Gwen said
"You're lying"Peter said
"How would you know if I'm lying or not?"Gwen asked
" 'Cause I just know. I can see it in your eyes"Peter said
"Wait you look in my eyes? Do you have like a power when you look into people's eyes and see if they're lying or not because if you do that makes you some kind of human lie detector and honestly that's pretty cool"Gwen said
"No, I don't have a power like that, it's like some kind of sixth sense"Peter said
"Oh...that's a little less impressive but that's still pretty cool"Gwen said
"Yeah, but you're not going after that guy"Peter said
"I told I'm not...we've got to go to class today"Gwen said
"Right, do you have my clothes?"Peter asked
"No, of course not. Why would I just have your clothes in my dorm?"Gwen asked
"Well you have my suit"Peter said
"That's only because you were wearing it when I found you"Gwen said
"Ok, so I should go back to my dorm then?"Peter asked
"Yes, you should now hurry up before someone walks in here and gets the wrong idea"Gwen said before grabbing Peter's suit and giving it to him.
"Thanks...for-"Peter said
"Saving your life"Gwen said
"Yes...that exactly. Thanks for saving my life"Peter said
"No problem, I'm more then just a girl you know, Peter"Gwen said
"Yeah, I know"Peter said before walking out of Gwen's dorm.
Scene Change
Peter walks into his biochemistry class and hears a voice, making him jump.
"Hello, Peter. It's nice to see you again"Warren said
"It's nice to see you too, Professor Warren. Are you alright? Because the other day, Gwen and I went to your house and-"Peter said
"You don't have to worry, Peter. Everything's fine, there's nothing to worry about"Warren said while touching Peter's shoulder. Peter gasps as multiple images flash through his head before coming to an end. "Is everything alright, Peter"
"Yeah, everything's alright. Professor Warren"Peter said before going to his seat.
Warren's warm smile slowly turns into a frown of coldness and fear.
Flashback
The Jackal climbs up from the sewer and walks slowly back into Warren's house. Jackal walks up the stairs and walks into the room and falls onto the floor in front of the mirror in the room before turning back into regular Miles Warren.
Warren stands up and looks at himself.
"What the hell is happening to me?"Warren said as he looked at his hands which slowly changed from boney green hands to regular human hands.
"We became better, we evolved"Warren hears a voice and looks in the mirror to see the Jackal.
Warren crawls back away.
"Leave me alone, please"Warren said
"And whatever do you mean by that? Jackal'll never be able to do that...Jackal is us"Jackal
"No, no you're a monster!"Warren said
"We are the next stage of evolution. We are smarter, stronger and faster than the average weak human"Jackal said
"No, no. I never wanted this. The serum wasn't perfected, I should've kept working on it"Warren said
"We are a better result than what we would've gotten, we are Jackal. We are inseparable. We are bonded by blood!!"Jackal said
"No!! No!!"Warren said
"Think about it!! We have all the power!! We are now much, much smarter! We can bring our family back"Jackal said
"That's impossible!"Warren said
"Not impossible, fully possible. All we need to do first, is kill a Spider"Jackal said
"We can bring my family back?"Warren asked
"Yes, yes. We just need to kill Spider-Man first"Jackal said
"Ok, ok. How are we going to do that?"Warren asked
"First, we figure out who we is. And lucky for you, I know exactly who he is"Jackal said with a grin.
Flashback End
"Ok, class. Today I've got an announcement for all of you. Since the winter solstice is coming up, I'll be taking a leave of absence till after the New Years, I've got some big plans coming up, and they will take up most of my time. So I just wanted to let you all know that so you wouldn't be surprised next Thursday when I'm not here"Warren said
Gwen raises her hand.
"Yes, Gwen?"Warren asks
"Aren't you one of the staff that's supposed to help with the Winger Solstice Blowout?"Gwen asked
"Well, yes but I've already talked with the Dean, and he's agreed to accept my leave of absence"Warren said
Harry then raised his hand.
"Yes, Harry?"Warren asked
"What are these big plans you have Professor?"Harry asked
"I'm sorry Harry, but those are personal plans and I cannot relay those plans to you. So let's start the lesson for today"Warren said
Scene Change
"Can you believe this? I can't believe Professor Warren gave us a project on getting these specific items from the mall"Harry said as he walked through the mall with Peter and Gwen
"These things cost a fortune, I don't see how anyone besides Harry can afford all these things"Gwen said
"Well I can buy all of these things three times so that you guys won't fail the assignment"Harry said
"Thank, Harry"Peter said before all of a sudden. Scorpion bursts through the ceiling of the mall.
Peter's Spider Sense tingles.
"Get down!"Peter said before grabbing Gwen and Harry and making them duck down along with him as Scorpion's tail blade thrusts at them and misses.
"Run!! Run!!"Peter said and the three started rubbing. "Get to the exit!"
Gwen and Harry ran towards the exit but unbeknownst to them, Peter separated from them. Gwen looks back to see Peter not behind them.
"Gwen what are you waiting for? Where's Peter?"Harry asked
"Harry, go. I'll meet up with you later"Gwen said before running back into the mall.
"Wait you can't just go back in there by yourself!"Harry said as he ran after Gwen
Scene Change
"Where are you Spider-Man?! Come out! Come out to play!!"Scorpion said before getting kicked into a store.
"Do you ever shut up?"Spider-Man said before getting a tap on his shoulder.
Spider-Man looked behind him to see Jackal.
Jackal pulls back his fist for a punch and Spider-Man dodged it but Jackal grabs him and throws him onto the second floor.
"Get out of here, you know the plan. Jackal distracts Spider-Man while you initiate the plan, don't make Jackal kill you"Jackal said before jumping onto to second floor to meet Spider-Man.
"Didn't know you guys worked together. When did this happen?"Spider-Man asked
"Well, it's a really...brutal story"Jackal said
Flashback
"Warren! You said that with the hard drive I'll be able to kill Spider-Man! You lied to me!"Scorpion said as he thrusts his tail at Warren who grabs it when it was about to hit his face before transforming into the Jackal.
"W-What the hell?!"Scorpion said before Jackal kicks him before grabbing Scorpion by his neck and slamming him onto the floor. Jackal then rips off Scorpion's helmet and begins mercilessly punching Scorpion in his face. "Stop! Please!"Scorpion says before Jackal stomps on his face, breaking his nose.
"Fine, Jackal'll stop. But you gotta do something for Jackal"Jackal said
Flashback End
"You broke his nose"Spider-Man said
"Jackal did more than that, when he didn't comply Jackal broke his arms and legs before healing him, then Jackal did it again, and again, and again. Until he agreed"Jackal said
"You're a psychopath"Spider-Man said
"Jackal is more of a...yeah, psychopath"Jackal said before grabbing Spider-Man by her throat and slamming him onto the ground and then throwing him into a store.
Spider-Man kicks Jackal in his gut before kicking him in his chin.
"Is that all you got?"Jackal said
Spider-Man jumps up and punches Jackal across his face three times before kneeing him in the gut. Spider-Man gets on Jackal's shoulders and begins punching him in the face who Jackal responds with a psychotic laugh before slamming Spider-Man through the floor.
"Catch me if you can Spider-Man!"Jackal said before he started running.
Spider-Man jumps up back to the second floor and begins swinging after Jackal who's destroying the mall.
Jackal throws tables from the food court at Spider-Man who dodged them all. Spider-Man uses a web to launch one at Jackal which breaks on impact.
Jackal jumps up and kicks Spider-Man, sending him to the floor.
"Run!! It's a fire!!!"Spider-Man heard someone say as fire spreads through the mall.
"Holy shit!"Spider-Man said before he jumped into the air to get everyone out but Jackal tackled him to the floor.
Spider-Man kicks Jackal and punches him across the face three times before kicking him.
Spider-Man swings.
"Everyone! Hurry! You need to get out of here!"Spider-Man said as he went by the door and everyone who could ran out of the mall.
"Ok, there's still more people in here!"Spider-Man said before he started swinging once more, Spider-Man then saw Harry and Gwen surrounded by fire.
"Gwen! Harry!"Spider-Man said before he started swinging towards Harry and Gwen and swooped them both up.
"Spider-Man!"Gwen said
"Wait! Where's Peter?"Harry asked
"I already saved him, so you don't have to worry about it"Spider-Man said before he got to the doors. "Come on! Go! Go!"
Gwen and Harry then ran out of the mall.
Spider-Man looks back to see the fire's spread way more throughout the mall.
"I've gotta hurry"Spider-Man said before he started swinging.
Spider-Man then starts to save many people from the burning mall as he can, leading them out of the mall.
Spider-Man then goes back into the mall.
"Anyone else! Anyone else in here! I'm here to save you!"Spider-Man shouted out
"I'm here! Help me!"Spider-Man heard the voice of a little boy and he looked and saw the boy.
Spider-Man jumps to save the child but Jackal tackled him down to the floor and punched him in the face twice.
Spider-Man kicks Jackal off of him and jumps into the air and shoots a web at the boy and brings him into his arms.
"Alright! Let's get you outta here!"Spider-Man said before he started swinging.
"Scorpion! Activate it! Now!"Jackal said before he busts through the wall and escapes.
"On it!"Scorpion said while he was outside of the wall, he brings up a button and presses it.
Spider-Man swings towards the exit and his eyes widen under his mask as explosions start to form.
Spider-Man swings as fast as he can and

Spider-Man leaps out of the exit just in time as the entire mall crumbles down.
"Is anyone missing a scared child?"Spider-Man said
"Oh my god!"A woman said as she ran towards them
"Thank you Spider-Man"A Man said as he followed behind the woman
Spider-Man puts the boy down and he runs towards his parents and hug them.
"Just doing my duty as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man"Spider-Man said before jumping into the air and swinging off.
Scene Change
Spider-Man opens the window to his dorm and climbs into the dorm.
Spider-Man grabs the remote and turns on the TV as he takes off his suit.
"A tragedy has truly befallen us. There was a devastating fire at the Queens Place Mall. Spider-Man arrived on the scene and saved almost everyone there...keep in mind almost. Authorities have concluded that a total of 15 casualties were made in the mall as it crumbled down to nothing. Spider-Man failed to save everyone, and you all call him a hero"Jameson said while on air as Peter looked at the TV wide eyed.
