Peter was at his seat...he was lost in his thoughts.
"Authorities have concluded that a total of 15 casualties were made in the mall as it crumbled down to nothing. Spider-Man failed to save everyone, and you all call him a hero"
His inability to save everyone at the mall has been haunting him for the last week.
"Is Pete okay? He's been like this for the past week?"Harry asked Gwen
"I don't know. Peter, are you okay?"Gwen asked
But Peter didn't answer.
"That fire at the mall must've gotten to him"Harry said
"Peter"Gwen said before she tapped him on the shoulder
"I'm fine"Peter said
"Welcome everyone. I will be your Professor until Professor comes back, my name is Professor Curt Connors"The substitute Professor said
"Hello Professor Connors"Everyone responded
"Curt Connors"Peter mouthed to himself, he remembers a Curt Connors, from another universe, the one he fought with his two other variants.
"So is everyone excited for the Winter Solstice Blowout?"Connors asked and mostly everyone nodded
"I hope everyone will have a spectacular time, hope everyone has their dates and will enjoy it"Connors said
"Hey, Pete. Did you ask anyone to the Winter Solstice Blowout?"Harry asked
"No, how about you?"Peter asked
"I'm thinking of asking Gwen"Harry said
"Oh...ok"Peter said
"You wanna come over, to my penthouse?"Harry asked
"Of course you have a penthouse, but sure, I've got nothing to do"Peter said
"Nice, my Dad really wants to meet you"Harry said
Scene Change
"Wow, this place sure is big"Peter said
"It's a penthouse, Pete"Harry said
"Harry, is that you?"A familiar voice to Peter was heard
"Yeah, Dad it's me. I brought Peter"Harry said
"Good, I've been wanting to meet him"
A Familiar Man then walked towards Peter. Peter's eyes widened as far as they could go and he backed a bit.
"It's an honor to meet the famous Peter Parker, my son has told about you. I'm Norman Osborn"Norman said as he shook his hand
"N-Nice to meet you sir"Peter said as Norman shook his hand
"Harry's told me you're quite the science whiz. You know I'm something of a scientist myself"Norman said
"Yeah, I know"Peter says to himself
"You know, Peter. I've recently been doing research on nano technology"Norman said
"Yeah, I know. I've read it, it's really fascinating sir"Peter said
"And you understood it?"Norman asked
"Yes, I wrote a paper on it"Peter said
"Impressive"Norman said
"Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom"Peter said before he made his way...eventually to the bathroom.
Peter rushed into the bathroom and in panic, locked the door.
Peter went towards the sink and turned it on and splashed water onto his face repeatedly.
"This can't be happening, this can't be happening, this can't be happening. He's gone, he..he's supposed to be in his own universe"Peter said to himself as he started getting flashbacks
Flashback
"Poor Peter, to weak to send me home to die"Green Goblin said
"No, I just want to kill you myself"Spider-Man said, his eyes narrowed at Goblin
"Atta boy"Green Goblin said
Spider-Man and Goblin run at each other. Spider-Man throws a punch which Goblin ducks under. Spider-Man webs Goblin's foot to the ground and threw a strong punch at Goblin which made him take down to the ground. Spider-Man jumps into the air and tries to punch Goblin when he comes down but Goblin dodges. Blades then appear on Goblin wrist.
"*whistles*"Goblin whistles
Spider-Man runs at Goblin and dodges the blade. Spider-Man dodges another attack from the blade before punching Goblin on his side. Spider-Man dodges a few more slashed from Goblin before getting punched across the face. Spider-Man webs Goblin's feet down to the ground again before dodging another attack from the blades and then punching Goblin on his other side.
Goblin slashes Spider-Man on his arm and an uneasy smile grows on his face before Spider-Man punches him in the face. Goblin goes in for another slash at Spider-Man who dodges before breaking off one of the blades and uppercutting him. Spider-Man uses his webs to knee Goblin in his face before using them again to make Goblin slightly bend over. Spider-Man flips over Goblin and grabs the behind of his collar and lifts him up from the ground before slamming him back on the ground. Spider-Man grabs Goblin, forcing him onto his feet and punches him brutally across his face once, then twice, then three times, then four times, then five, then six, then seven, then eight, then nine.
When Goblin goes down Spider-Man lifts him back up again and resumes his brutal beat down, punching him across the face three more times before uppercutting him. Goblin goes down once more.
Spider-Man then walks towards Green Goblin's glider and lifts it up into the air. Spider-Man looks at Goblin with hatred in his eyes.
Spider-Man prepares to bring the glider down on Goblin so that he could kill him, before his other variant stopped him from going through with it. Spider-Man growls as he pushes the glider down making his variant take a knee, but he still didn't stop. Spider-Man slowly puts down the glider and pants. A piercing of skin sound is heard as the variant's eyes widen.
Goblin brings his blade out from the variant's body before the variant falls onto the ground.
"She was dead..because of you. I may have struck the blow but you *chuckles* you are the one that killed her *laughs*"Goblin said
One of Spider-Man's variants throws him the cure and he catches it before plunging it into Goblin's neck.
Goblin falls down to the ground.
"Peter..."Norman said before looking to the side of him and seeing the Spider-Man of his universe smiling at him. "...what have I done?"
One of the variants goes over to the variant onto the ground.
"You okay?"The variant asks
"Uh huh I'm good, I've been stabbed before"The variant responds
Spider-Man kneels down to meet his two other variants.
"Hey, oh man"Spider-Man said
"Hey, nice catch"The variant that's not on the ground says
"Nice throw"Spider-Man said
Flashback End
"What's going on? He shouldn't be here...at least...this universes version of him shouldn't look exactly like him"Peter said to himself
"Peter, are you okay?"Harry asked
"Yeah, yeah I'm good"Peter said before walking out of the bathroom.
Scene Change
"Mr. Jameson, sir. I got the pictures"Peter said as he gave a folder of pictures of Spider-Man
"*sigh* I'll give ya 300 bucks Parker, give this to Betty, you know the drill"Jameson said
"Yeah, I know sir"Peter said before walking out and once again on his way out bumps into Mary Jane.
"Hey, Mary Jane"Peter said
"Hey, Peter. I haven't seen you in a while"Mary Jane said
"Just...going through some stuff"Peter said
"Did you hear about the mall?"Mary Jane asked
"Yeah...it was a tragedy"Peter said
"I know, I feel so bad for the people that lost their lives, and their families"Mary Jane said
"Yeah, me too. I wish I could've done more"Peter said
"Peter, it's not your fault that they're gone"Mary Jane said
"I...I know but I just wish I could've done something more, I've gotta go I'll see you around"Peter said
"Alright, see you Peter"Mary Jane said before she walked pass him. Peter began to walk before he all of a sudden came to a pause before turning around.
"Hey Mary Jane"Peter said and she turned around.
"Yes?"She asked
"Tonight, my college is having this Winter Solstice Blowout, it's this thing kind of like a dance..so I wanted to know if you could go with me as my date?"Peter said
"...sure, it sounds like fun"Mary Jane said
"Yes. I'll pick you up at 7:00"Peter said
"Ok, I'll be ready"Mary Jane said
Scene Change
Peter's in his dorm, getting ready for the Blowout before his door opens.
"Hey, Peter. I wanted to-what are you wearing?"Gwen asked
"Oh, I'm getting ready for the blowout. I'm going to pick up my date"Peter said
"You have a date?"Gwen asked
"Yeah, with my coworker. Mary Jane"Peter said
"Oh"Gwen said
"Why are you here?"Peter asked
"No reason"Gwen said
"Well if you don't have a date, Harry's been planning to ask you"Peter said
"Oh, ok. Good to know, I'll see you later"Gwen said before walking out of the dorm and closing the door.
Scene Change
Peter drives his car and stops it right in front of a house.
"Ok, this is the address"Peter said before walking up the stairs and he rung the doorbell.
A few moments passed before the door opened and revealed Mary Jane wearing a black dress.
"Hey there, tiger"Mary Jane said
Peter's face heated up once more.
"Hi, let's go"Peter said. The two linked arms and walked towards the car.
Scene Change
Peter and Mary Jane walked into the gymnasium.
"Wow, everything's so...decorated"Peter said
"Hey, Pete!"Harry said with Gwen at his side as they walked up to Peter and Mary Jane.
"Hey guys. Harry, Gwen this is Mary Jane Watson, Mary Jane this is Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, they're my friends"Peter said
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you both"Mary Jane said
"It's nice to meet you too. Any friend of Pete's is a friend of ours"Harry said
"Yeah...pleasure to meet you too"Gwen said
"Hey, Gwen. How about we go and take a dance?"Harry said
"Sure...let's get...jiggy"Gwen said before she and Harry walked away.
"That was weird, Gwen's acting a little weird"Peter said to himself quietly
"C'mon Tiger, let's hit the dance floor too. I wanna see what you got"Mary Jane said
"Ok, sure"Mary Jane said
Scene Change
Peter's in the bathroom. Peter washes his hands before all of a sudden getting an alert on his phone.
"Oh, come on. Not now"Peter said as he took out his phone
"The Daily Bugle building! It's on fire again! There's this creature inside terrorizing the inhabitants of the building!"
"Jackal"Peter said before rushing to the gymnasium.
Scene Change
"Hey, Mary Jane. I got a call from the Bugle, Mr. Jameson wants me to take some pictures on these guys downtown, they're conducting this..experiment with this new type of technology they've been developing, and if I don't do it, he'll fire me. I'm so sorry"Peter came up with an excuse
"Oh, it's okay. But hustle back Tiger, you owe me one more dance"Mary Jane said
"Really? You're not mad?"Peter asked
"Why would I be mad? You've gotta do what you've gotta do"Mary Jane said
"I-I won't be gone long, I promise"Peter said before rushing out of the gymnasium.
Scene Change
Spider-Man swings towards the Daily Bugle which was almost covered in a devastating fire, there's were Firetrucks, Cop cars, and helicopters.
"Don't worry everyone, I've got this!"Spider-Man said before swinging in through the open window.
"Don't worry everyone! *cough* I'll get you out of here safe!"Spider-Man said before getting tackled to the floor.
"Well if it isn't Jackal's old friend Spider-Man"Jackal said
"Jackal!"Spider-Man said before kicking Jackal off of him. "I'm guessing you and Scorpion are working together again"
"No...Scorpion is gone"Jackal said
"What?"Spider-Man asked
"He's gone"Jackal said
"You killed him?"Spider-Man said
"No, he left. But after Jackal kills you, he'll hunt him down and make him regret turning his back on Jackal"Jackal said
Spider-Man flips over Jackal before punching him in the face twice. Then using his webs to knee him in the face, before punching him three more times and then kicking him into Jameson's office.
"Okay everyone! The fire fighters are outside with a tarp! You all know the drill! Hurry and jump! And don't worry they'll catch you!"Spider-Man said and everyone started going towards the window and started jumping out.
"Move it! Move it! I've got too much to live for!"Jameson said before diving out of the window
"Well that's one way to jump through a window"Spider-Man said before getting tackled back down onto the ground. Jackal punched him in the face four times before Spider-Man punches and throws him off.
"I don't understand why you're doing this Jackal. What could you possibly be gaining from this?!"Spider-Man said
"That's none of your business Spider-Man. That's for Jackal to know and for you to die not knowing"Jackal said before kicking Spider-Man sending him flying back. Jackal then runs towards Spider-Man.
Spider-Man spots a piece of wood from a coatrack that was on fire. Spider-Man webs that piece of coatrack and throws it at Jackal which hits him in the eye.
"RAAAHHH!!"Jackal screeched as his eye burned
Spider-Man then runs at Jackal and kicks him while flipping upwards and landing his signature pose.
Spider-Man then uses his webs to trip Jackal before webbing him up.
Jackal moves around. Struggling to get out of the webs.
"*sigh* *sigh* It's over"Spider-Man says as he approaches Jackal. "You'll never hurt anyone again"
Jackal then bursts out of the webs and kicks Spider-Man.
Jackal looks and sees about eight people that are about to jump out the window. Jackal throws a desk at the window. Making them stop in their tracks.
Jackal growls at them but Spider-Man kicks him down.
"Leave them alone!"Spider-Man said
"Stay out of Jackal's business!"Jackal said before punching Spider-Man across the face. Jackal slashes Spider-Man on his side before elbowing him in the face. Jackal kicks Spider-Man down and begins punching him across the face mercilessly.
All of a sudden something smashes onto Jackal's back. Jackal looks back to see Betty and Joe.
"Betty..Joe"Spider-Man said
"Oh, hello. You dare to try and harm Jackal"Jackal said as he walked forward towards them
Betty and Joe backed up.
"What are you doing?! Stop!!"Spider-Man said before Jackal stuck his boney hands through Joe and Betty's stomach and pierces their bodies.
"NOOOO!!!"Spider-Man shouted before Jackal threw their now lifeless bodies to the side.
Spider-Man slowly got back up.
Jackal slowly turned back towards Spider-Man.
"You can't save anyone"Jackal said with an unsettling smile
"I'll kill you!"Spider-Man shouted before running at Jackal.
Spider-Man punches Jackal across his face before kicking him back.
Jackal catches Spider-Man's fist when he throws a punch at him. Jackal kicks Spider-Man back, sending him flying and through a wall. Spider-Man flies out of the burning Daily Bugle building. Spider-Man swings back to the front of the Daily Bugle before seeing Jackal jump out of the window and then the Building exploding right in front of him.
Spider-Man gets sent flying back and falls onto a car. Spider-Man looks on to see the exploding Daily Bugle building as it maintained some of its parts towards the bottom, but the entire upper part was demolished, like nothing was even there in the first place.
Spider-Man gets up and starts helping the authorities with everyone else.
Scene Change
Peter runs back into the gymnasium and sees basically nobody there. Peter sighs and sits down onto the bleachers.
"Nice going Peter, you blew it"Peter said to himself
"I wouldn't say that. I saved the last dance for you Tiger"Mary Jane said as she reached her hand out to him.
Peter took her hand and the two began to slow dance. Without music...but to them, that didn't make it any less romantic.
Scene Change
Peter wakes up and goes to the bathroom and brushing his teeth before walking out an turning on the TV
"A disaster has fallen before us once more. I'm sure you've all heard about the disaster at the mall, where we lost a total of 15 people, but yesterday the Daily Bugle exploded, we lost a total of 10 people, which authorities have been able to count because of the many separated body parts"The News Anchor said
"No...not again"Peter said before he sat back down on his bed.
"You can't save anyone"
Jackal's voice echoed through his head a plethora of times.
"I need some help...but who can help me right now?"Peter asked himself before turning to his nightstand where there was an Emperor Palpatine lego
And that's the end of this chapter! I took some inspiration from "The Spectacular Spider-Man" in this chapter when it came to the Winter Solstice Blowout. And at the end I teased a little bit of Ned and MJ there.
