Episode 2: Barn Mates
Jack was still slowly packing up his stuff. Jack was still not happy with Chase. So much so that they effectively agreed to end their training sessions entirely. Chase and Wuya watches as Jack is packing his stuff up, especially with the help of his Jackbots. Wuya was none too pleased with Chase's debacles with Jack as of late. Needless to say, Wuya has some questions for Chase. "Can I speak with you in private?" Wuya asked Chase. "Sure, if that's what you want." Chase said. They began to walk away from Jack's room as he continues to pack. Chase and Wuya arrived at the meeting room after a bit of walking. They entered and closed the door behind them. "What is your true endgame, Chase?" Wuya said, straight to the point. Chase chuckles a bit. "Wuya, if I were to tell you know, things...wouldn't be the same. I will say this, however, it's going pretty well. Sure, Jack maybe out of the running, but…" Chase said as he pulls out the Crystal Glasses. "Oh, right, you peered into the future like Garnet did." Wuya said. Chase nods as he stashes it away. "Why would you train Jack, only for him to bail on us? Was he not that important?" Wuya said. "No no...he's somewhat valuable...like a knight on a chess board. Peridot...well, she's more of the pawn of the chessboard in my opinion. While you might be thinking I'm playing poorly, that's far from the truth, I'm letting the Monks and Gems lower their guard. Once they least expected it...POW! We are back in the running." Chase explains.
Wuya ponders a bit. "That's fine and all, but losing Jack...it's kinda like my earlier move when I formed Mala Mala Jong, and you know how that worked out." Wuya said with a visible frustrated look. "I know, Wuya, but this isn't like last time. Sure, losing Jack is going to sting, but I got a good replacement person I can get behind…You remember Jasper?" Chase said. Wuya looks perplexed. "Yea, why di-" Wuya said before she gasp. "Oh, sneaky Chase. You must have saw Jasper still being around on earth while looking in the Crystal Glasses, right?" She said with a smirk. Chase gives a nod. "That is indeed correct. At this point in time, I saw that Jasper and Lapis had fused some time ago and just lost to the gems. Lapis is likely either left earth again, or is hiding out somewhere. Jasper, meanwhile, is roaming the Earth, trying to find a way to fight still." Chase said. "But that's not all…" Wuya looks a bit intrigued by what Chase is alluding to. "I plan on to bring in some assistance to help boost our numbers. Remember Katnappe… PandaBubba… Vlad… and Tubbimura?" Chase said. "Wait...what are you planning with them?" Wuya said. "You see...I'm planning on forming a new front, once we try to convince Jasper to join the Heylin. I call it UHF… the United Heylin Front." Chase proclaims. Wuya wasn't fully sold on it but it's a start. If Chase could get Jasper and the others, maybe things could improve with or without Jack. "Alright…I like to see you try." Wuya said. Chase chuckles.
Back to Steven, Peridot, Lapis, and Omi, things aren't improving that well. Peridot offered Lapis to stay with her but Lapis is really hesitant. "What? Why?" Peridot said. "You know why...you and Jasper were assisting Jack, Wuya and Jackson, you guys fought against the Monks and Gems. Steven told me who Wuya and Jackson was a while ago." Lapis said. "Not only that...you dragged me back to Earth." "Well, that was true...but I've reformed. I'm not wanting to hurt Earth anymore. I want to save Earth." Peridot said. "That is most true, Peridot. How else did she and Steven stopped the Cluster from forming." Omi added. Lapis was still uncertain. Steven ponders a bit. "Omi, do you think you can talk to Lapis while I talk to Peridot?" Steven said. Omi nods as Lapis and Omi heads out. Peridot pouts a bit but if Omi can convince her, maybe she'll be grateful for Omi.
Omi and Lapis arrived on top of the silo, where they first officially talked. "So...how many Monks are there? Three?" Lapis asked. "Actually, there's four." Omi said as he pulls out a picture. It shows the Monks posing for a picture. Lapis looks at the picture. "I...remember seeing him and her...but barely him." Lapis said as she points to Raimundo last. "Who is he?" "That would be Raimundo." Omi said as he puts the picture away. "He is the wind monk. When he fought Mala Mala Jong, he got tossed around like a ragdoll." "Who's Mala Mala Jong?" Lapis asked. "Basically a construct of different shen gong wus." Omi said. Lapis softly nods. "Anyway, Raimundo left Beach City for quite some time before returning and rescuing us from imprisonment." Omi continues. "Though… we were unable to rescue you because…well, you didn't want our help at that time." Lapis looks down a bit. "I declined it because I thought it would cause more trouble with them." Lapis said. "Part of me regrets that decision."
Omi looks at Lapis. "Lapis, I know you have a ton of baggage but you can be a most valuable as an ally. Look at Peridot. Last time you saw her, she was a different person, but now, with her evolution as a gem, basically telling off Yellow Diamond, help preventing the Cluster from forming, and even assisting the drill building, she's starting to turn everything around for her life. Not only that, with her… partnership with Jack, it might make Jack depart the Heylin all together. That could be most critical of her." Omi added. "If it wasn't for her poofing, who know what Jack would be doing, we don't know if Earth would still be around from what the info Peridot gave us and what not." Lapis just listens to Omi. "So… you are trying to say that Peridot changed?" Lapis asked. "Oh yes, but not before some minor hiccups along the way." Omi said. Lapis looks at Omi. "What happened?" Lapis asked.
"Well…remember how she told Yellow Diamond off? Well, she stole a Diamond Communicator from the moon." Omi admitted. "Then there was the robot shenanigans, accidentally delaying the drill due to her accidentally turning it on prematurely, and maybe a few minor tidbits." Lapis thinks a bit. "So, why of all timing did she changed now?" Lapis asked. "That would because of Steven. He managed to talk to her while we were unable to even get a peep from her. He trusted her and it paid off big time in the end." Omi said. "If it wasn't for him, We might be out of luck." "So, if it wasn't for Steven…I think I would still be in the mirror, Peridot would not need to do her mission and the cluster would form?" Lapis said. "Sounds like it." Omi admits. Lapis chuckles. "Well, Steven is a nice guy when you know him well." Lapis said. Omi smiles and nods. "Oh yes. He is a fairly interesting person." he said.
Lapis then ponders something. "So… what did you do all of your life?" Lapis asked. Omi… didn't know what to say. "Well, if I may be frank… I've been a Xiaolin Monk since I can remember. I never knew my true parents…I don't know why they decided to left me at the Xiaolin Temple." Omi said. "Kimiko's father is a techie and her mother isn't alive anymore, Raimundo's parents are still together and I assume the same thing for Clay. Me…I mostly know Master Fung and Dojo with a bit of assistance from other monks before Kimiko, Clay, and Raimundo entered the picture." Lapis was mostly listening to Omi. "I would like to be truthful, when I first heard your water abilities, I was most curious." Omi said. "You and I have some similar powers over the water. While I can't fly with water, I can use the tornado strike water for different usages out of it. Whatever it comes out of my finger tips or if I spin to create a water tornado." Lapis chuckles a bit. "That's actually impressive, Omi. So, you and I can control water. It's interesting to hear that." Lapis admits. "So, if you are willing, should you give Peridot a chance?" Omi said. Lapis began to ponder a bit. "I'll leave you to think on your own term." Omi said as he hops of the Silo and walks away. Lapis lies down and ponders a bit. She has a complex vision for Peridot but if Omi and Steven are indeed trusting her…maybe she should give it a chance.
A bit later, Lapis got off the silo and flies down to the ground. She walks over to the barn and sees Steven, Omi, and Peridot talking in a circle. "Oh, Lapis, we were just mentioning you." Steven said with a wave. Lapis looks over next to her was a deep pool made for the barn. It looks like it was filled with the Orb of Tornami. Lapis takes a deep breath and slowly walks to them. She sits down next to Omi and Steven. "So… Lapis, how are you doing?" Peridot said. Lapis was still having cold feet to talk to Peridot but she is going to try to talk a bit. "I'm…okay." Lapis said. "Well, that's good to hear, Lapis." Steven said. "Have you thought about being Peridot's barn mate?" Lapis began to think a bit. "I… have… but I don't know how to put it lightly." Lapis admits. Peridot began to secretly fearing the worst. She got Steven on board and Omi had a good chat with Lapis from what he was speaking but if Lapis is still unconvinced, there's no way for her to get through to her that she's changed.
Before Lapis could speak what she had decided…the lighting turned red. "What the?" Peridot said as they looked around and see the Roaming Eye. "Oh no! It's the Roaming Eye!" Peridot shouts. "I knew I would be public enemy #1." They began to rush out and the Roaming Eye follows and was in front of them. It's eye flashes red and began to slowly approaches them. "Do you still have the Orb of Tornami, Omi?" Lapis whispers. Omi nods as he pulls it out. "Hand it to me." Lapis said. Omi nods as he hands it to Lapis. Lapis takes a deep breath. "Orb of Tornami" Lapis said. The Orb activates and water gushes out fast. She then manifested the water into a large hand and slams the Roaming Eye to the ground, forming several diamonds on the ground. Omi, Steven and Peridot were stunned to see this as Lapis sends the water to the pool next to her. Just then, the Gems and Monks arrived with Clay lagging behind, his back was still aching. "We saw the ship and we got here as fast as we could." Pearl said. "We're fine, but looks like Homeworld was really looking for Peridot." Steven said. Peridot slowly walks up to Lapis. "Peridot…you okay?" Lapis asked. "Y-yea… I though…" Peridot said with a stammer. "I was going to say… think you can work it out with me...roomie?" Lapis said with a smile. Peridot smiles back. Just then the roaming eye's hatched open and something crawls out of it. Everyone gasp as we cut to black.
