Bucky was silent and withdrawn when he and Steve sat down to dinner in their suite.
Steve thought at first it was just a case of Bucky being tired after a long day of being poked and prodded by Bruce and Tony.
He understood. Steve had been through a lot of that himself, both before and after the ice.
Steve realized something more was going on when he woke during the night and found Bucky hiding in the bathroom, making a painstaking list of all the people he could remember killing over the years.
