A/N: Hello dear readers. Thanks for the reviews and favs. Much appreciated. I only have two more days left of being in quarantine until I have to go back to work so I am going to write as much as I can to keep this updated.

Enjoy!

Wrapping Rin in her blanket as well as his own Sesshomaru placed her in the cart that Miroku had brought with him. In her arms she held An-Un and Shippo sat beside her.

Her wounds still hurt and Ayame had done her best to make her warm and comfortable for her journey north.

"Lord Sesshomaru," She choked out, "What if I never see you again?"

"Do you really think that you will never see me again Rin?" Taking her hand in his he squeezed lightly.

"People disappear." She whispered as tears fell from her veil of thick lashes.

"This Sesshomaru swears on his fathers honor that we will meet up again. I am staying to protect Kagome and ensure our people are safe." He comforted. "You have Shippo. An and Un are with you, you will take care of one another."

"Don't worry Rin. We are going somewhere safe, I trust master Miroku implicitly." Shippo said.

"Lie down." Sesshomaru said to them letting go of her hand. Covering the top of the cart he secured it into place and shut the back of it. Moving to the front where Miroku sat with the horses reigns in his hands he glared daggers at the human.

"If any harm comes to them…"

"Rest assure my friend, your young companions will be safe. I shall return in a weeks time. That is when I will continue to instruct Lady Kagome in her lessons." Miroku said. "Until then, keep your head low. Ready your people for what is to come."

"I plan on it." Sesshomaru replied stepping aside as the cart lurched forward and Miroku made his way out of the compound.

"I can't believe you let him take Rin." Koga remarked astonished. "You really trust that guy?"

"I trust Kagome, whom trusts him. She has shown me that some humans can be."

"Kagome, huh? Didn't realize you two were on a first name basis?"

"If anyone asks, Rin died." Sesshomaru stated ignoring his cheeky question.

"Yup, will do." Both walking off to start their days Sesshomaru felt worry gnaw at the very pit of his stomach.

"Sesshomaru, I must protest!" Jaken said coming out of their hut.

"Save it." He nearly snapped walking past him to grab the cart he used to sort the metal.

"This is madness." Jaken continued. "Do you really think we can trust that human? Or any of them at all?"

"And I suppose you have a better idea? In all the years I have known you you have yet to voice it." Sesshomaru retorted.

"What if he sells young Rin or worse…"

"I had to give her a chance. Do you not think Jaken that I know what the likelihood of such things are? That the very idea that she will be taken somewhere safe is practically within the realm of fantasy but we need to start taking risks, chances, if we are to help ourselves out of this situation our sires put us all in." Sesshomaru did snap baring his fangs at the imp.

"Yes, yes Sesshomaru. You are correct." Jaken said timidly. "And just know that, that whatever it is you decide and wherever it is you may go I will follow you, my lord."

Freezing on the spot he felt his eyes go wide. Controlling his anger he took a few breaths.

"Very well Jaken. For now, go about your business."

"Yes, yes my lord." He bowed respectfully to him as he scurried off. Sesshomaru stated after him swallowing hard.

Kagome sat in her room staring at the folded note she had shared with Sesshomaru. Still under lock and key she caressed the edge of the paper fondly.

"I wish there was someway I could go to you." She whispered softly. Miroku had told her about the plan, how he believed she could help and that he would be taking Shippo and Rin.

She knew that it would take time and there was a lot riding against them but she had to do her part, not just for her friends but for their people as well.

It wasn't lost on her that the demons may very well revolt once they were able to, she understood that her family would be punished for their part, and she was at peace with that.

Remembering what Sesshomaru said she had wept at the idea of watching her father be executed while she and her mother would be violated but it was only fair.

Miroku had taught her about karma, that what you put into the universe you received back. Inherently she believed because of her family's wicked deeds she would receive divine retribution for the crimes they had committed.

Placing a hand to her chest she thought that maybe Sesshomaru would keep her safe. Closing her eyes she cleared her throat. Standing she went to her vanity.

Opening the drawer she slid open the panel she had dug out to keep her note safe, where only she knew where it was.

Staring at Sesshomarus neat handwriting she could feel the firmness of his lips and inhaled the memory of his metallic scent again.

"I need to see him." She whispered folding the paper and placing it in the compartment.

Walking to her balcony door she slid it open stepping out. Glancing down she could see out into the main compound.

Looking out she shielded her eyes spotting him as he worked. Sighing relief she watched him. From her vantage point she could see him rip the metal down a cart straining and flexing his muscles as he did so.

"Oh kami, help me for my…sudden lewdness." She prayed softly. Her heart raced as she recalled the fireworks that sparked and flared between them when they were close and she wanted it again. Sesshomaru could become downright addictive for her.

Watching as he latched a barrel and walked off with it she glanced down at the wall to her right. Below her was her garden, that also had been locked. Given time she thought she could, maybe, scale down the wall and over the garden gate.

Certainly not in any of her kimonos but if she could just wear an undergarment and simple yukata she could very well but then what?

It would have to be late at night or very early morning if she were to go undetected. She would go to Sesshomarus hut and surprise him.

Giggling she placed a hand to her mouth as he came back into her line of sight. "Ready or not Sesshomaru, here I come."
