Miroku walked with purpose through the compound but did not want to cause any panic as he went towards the keep that Sango was known to use.

He was deeply disturbed by what Kagome had said and while he believed that sticking to routine and not disrupting what normally went on in the compound was key this was beyond the ken.

If he had known he maybe could have done something beforehand, not that he knew what he could do know. Closing his eyes he recalled the desperation in Kagomes.

It wasn't lost on him that they were both very much in love with one another but were forced to be apart. The idea of him being abused in such a way must have gutted her when she saw what occurred.

Pushing on the door he saw that it was locked. Looking it over the hinges on it were simple enough but to dismantle it he had to have time and it would cause a scene.

Since the day that Shippo had escaped more guards stood watch in various corners and the last thing he needed was to be unduly questioned for sneaking into the keep.

"Master monk." He was greeted by one.

"My good man. Perhaps you could be of assistance." Miroku began letting his silver tongue do the talking for him. "Lady Sango has requested my assistance with a matter. In her haste however it would appear she has locked me out of the very place she told me to meet her at."

"Undoubtedly she has a demon down there she is interrogating." The other man said.

"Yes, that is precisely why she asked for me. It is a matter of great importance concerning the main house." He replied.

"I understand master monk." He said taking out a large ring of keys. "Lucky for you I am the captain and have a key for every lock within the compound."

"Well then, how fortunate to have had you come upon me then." Miroku smiled at him his mind running a mile a minute.

"A key for every lock, that is good to know.' He thought as the guard unlocked the door to the keep. "Thank you captain. May the Buddha smile upon on you for your assistance."

Entering the keep he closed the door behind him quietly. Readying his staff he wondered exactly what it was he was walking in to.

Sesshomaru had gone as he always did but only with the intent of crushing her against the wall to make her feel the pain she had caused to many in her short, miserable life.

Now that he knew Kagomes touch there was no way he would allow Sango to sully him further. He was his wife's alone and would not allow the female torturer the pleasure of his body.

As she closed the door he wasted no time in knocking her to the ground and placing his still shackled hands around her neck. Pressing down on her chest with his knee he watched as she stared at him in shock.

Beating at him futilely he remained steadfast in his resolve. He would end her for what she had done to Rin, to him, and countless others.

Electrical currents sparked down his arms flowing into his fingertips. Removing his hands he snapped the chain that bound him staring at his claws that now exuded poison.

Looking down at her he smirked maliciously. "I believe you have yet to be introduced to my poison claws." Readying his hand to strike her the door flung open.

Miroku stood in the doorway with his staff in front of him. Quickly accessing the situation his eyes went wide.

"Sesshomaru! Stop!" Miroku said. "Do this and there will be no chance for you or absolution."

Growling he bared his fangs at Sango as his poison dropped onto the ground beside her head.

"Go ahead. You know you want to." She whispered out despite the weight on her chest. "You're nothing but a monster. All of you are."

"You are not." Miroku assured. "Please, you know what is at stake." Watching as Sango narrowed her eyes Sesshomaru recalled his poison and made a fist instead punching her in the face knocking her unconscious.

Standing slowly he stood to stare at Miroku. "Is it true? Is Kagome to be wed by weeks end?"

"What?" Miroku questioned furrowing his brow.

"You don't know." Sesshomaru breathed out. "From what Sango said, Kagome will be wed to a Naraku by weeks end."

"Naraku? This is…not good." Miroku sighed out. "I have heard things about that man. He is wicked and unkind."

"Master Miroku, I need to tell you something in confidence." Sesshomaru said.

"What is it?" Miroku pressed.

"Kagome is my wife. We have exchanged vows and consummated our marriage in secret." Sesshomaru said.

"Hmm." Crossing his arms over his front Miroku thought. "Under normal circumstances I would extend my congratulations to you both. Sesshomaru, was this the first time you have been able to use your abilities?"

"Yes." Sesshomaru replied. "I have felt my energy building for some days now. The others have as well. I have been instructing them on how to access those parts of them. There are many who were to young to remember or born into slavery."

"How are your people faring with this sudden influx of power?"

"Better than I anticipated. Jaken, the imp, is quite knowledgeable and can create barriers."

"That would prove incredibly useful."

"How much longer until the seal comes undone?"

"A few days at most. Kagome has been very helpful in dismantling it. If it weren't for the fact that I need her I would arrange for her to be taken away to safety however doing so would only delay us." Miroku practically sighed out.

"That is fine." Sesshomaru said. "Then it will be delayed."

"Are you certain?"

"Yes. The demons have time, we can wait it out a while longer. If what you say is true about this Naraku I will not send my wife off to him."

"Alright. I will speak with Kagome and begin planning to provide a safe travel for her." Miroku said. "Go back to your work. I will take care of Sango."

"Will you now?" Sesshomaru questioned. Miroku took a vial from his pocket and uncorked it.

"This is a concoction that will make her forget up to the last day. She will not even remember what she had for this mornings meal let alone accosting you my friend."

"Very well." Opening the door he left Miroku to it as he went up the stairs and into the compound. Glancing up he saw Kagome on the balcony and knew he would have to find a way to her to put her mind at ease.
