"Tell me Lady Kagome," Kikyo said as they took tea together. Her younger sister Kaede sat next to her while Sango stood off to the side behind Kagome, "How did it come about that the demons were able to raze your compound?"
"I am not certain. Our family crest suddenly caught fire and burned away. That was when guards came and informed us the compound was under attack." Kagome replied.
"Naraku took me to my chambers under the impression that he was going to protect me only to rape me and show to me that he was a half-breed."
"Loathsome creature." Kikyo said. "It is interesting though that a half-breed came to power as such. How do you suppose that is?"
"Your guess is as good as mine Lady Kikyo. After that night I have not given my violation much thought." Kagome stated.
"Lady Sango is mute?" Kaede asked curiously looking the woman over.
"Yes by choice. Sango has taken a vow of silence and has remained mute for nearly six years now." Kagome said.
"I could never do that." Kaede said with a small smirk. She reminded Kagome a bit of Rin and she smirked back at her. She wondered if the two girls would get along if given the chance.
"You would be surprised what you are capable of in certain circumstances." Kagome replied.
"Lady Kagome, I couldn't help but notice the bow and quiver of arrows you had with you when you arrived. You are an archer?" Kikyo queried bringing her attention back to their conversation.
"I am. I took up archery soon after my compound was brought down. It was suggested by master Miroku that I learn of some means to defend myself and I like archery."
"As do I. Perhaps you can humor me in the near future and we can practice together." Kikyo suggested. "Outside of the compound. You can take one of your demons with you if you like for protection."
"Perhaps." Kagome nodded her head once. "It is getting late. We are to meet up with master Miroku for our daily prayers."
"Until tomorrow then." Kikyo gave a small bow.
"Until tomorrow." Kagome motioned for Sango to follow her out of the room. Going to the small room that Miroku had been assigned they went in.
"Lady Kagome, Lady Sango." He welcomed as they knelt down on the tatami mats he had placed. "How fortunate we all are to have found this place."
"Yes I could not agree more." Kagome said. 'The seal. It is strong. There are so many of them here.' Kagome projected to him.
'Yes. I felt it too.' Miroku frowned. "Shall we begin then?" Clasping their hands together in prayer Miroku began to chant as they continued on their conversation telepathically. 'Kagome, have you been able to discern where any of the seals are being kept?'
'No. It is chaotic here with so much energy being given off from them all. It's hard to tell.' She replied.
'We will keep at it. We are bound to find the weaker ones first. There may be many that are protecting the strongest. Tomorrow we will begin to meditate on it.'
'Alright. Miroku, the lady Kikyo, think she may be someone we can trust. Sango and I are feeling her out to see. She may be an ally.' Kagome cracked open her eye to see Miroku nod his head.
"Very good." He said aloud. "Lady Kagome, you should check on your servants, see how they are faring. I will escort you through the compound."
"I believe that would be a good idea." Kagome smirked at him.
Being in a bigger compound meant more work. Sesshomaru automatically fell back into what he had done for many decades and then some helping the other demons out where they may have fallen behind or some who had difficulty with the task.
Glancing up from the metalwork he met Kagomes hungry stare as she approached with Miroku. Her eyes burned as she stared at him with an intensity he hadn't seen in years.
Straightening himself out he lowered his gaze from hers knowing the show they had to put on.
"Sesshomaru." Kagome greeted outwardly while her mind buzzed with lewd thoughts nearly forcing the smirk to form on his lips.
"My lady." He said softly.
"I trust you are being treated well." She said.
"Yes my lady." Deciding to get her really worked up he glanced up at her slightly. "Recently this one was chosen to breed another female."
As if an angry thunder cloud had suddenly appeared Kagome practically unleashed her spiritual energy before she reigned it back in tightly.
"Is that so?" Tight lipped and wide eyed she nearly shook.
"Yes Lady Kagome."
"And whom was it that told you to do that?" She asked forcefully. 'I swear to all that is holy Sesshomaru if you fucked some bitch I will singe your ass!'
"Master Bankotsu." He replied. 'Do you really think I would ever betray you my love? After everything we have been through?'
"Very well." Staring him down she cleared her throat. 'We're talking about this later.'
Giving a curt nod he watched as she passed by. He missed her fire and passion. He couldn't wait to be on the receiving end of it and with some luck may be able to douse her flames personally.
"What was that?" One of the demons asked. "It felt like a…rush of, I can't even describe."
"I have no idea what you are talking about." Sesshomaru replied going back to his work. 'Careful with your power mate. We do not need some demon picking up on it.'
'I said I will speak with you later.' She asserted walking away from him.
"Lady Kagome, are you well?" Miroku questioned wondering what their exchange.
"Why of course Master Miroku. Why wouldn't it be?" She queried back.
"Just thought I would ask." Not wanting to get in to it they went to the stables to check on Koga.
